A/N: Hey guys! Wow, sorry for not updating sooner. There was a death in the family, then prepping for college totally got me distracted! But, I'm here now and giving you a new chapter! Enjoy!
When I woke up, I was against a wall in what looked like the aircraft port. I tried to get up, then noticed the fighting going on around me.
"Madam, are you alright?" Thor asked me before the Hulk slammed into him. It took all I had not to scream.
"Hill!" I screamed into my ear piece, hoping she could hear me and was able to respond.
"Melody? Is that you?"
"Yes, what's happening? Hulk just tore through here taking Thor with him."
"Number three engine is down. Stark and Rogers are trying to fix it. If we lose another engine, we're toast." Suddenly, I heard screaming coming from her end.
"What just happened, Maria?"
"Your brother is here, and he's attacking the bridge."
"I'm headed down to Loki's cell. Keep me updated."
Suddenly, the floor seemed to be tipping to one side.
"I take it we just lost another engine," I said as I stood up and started running towards Loki's cell. I stopped short as Thor came flying by.
"Run, Lady Barton!" He yelled at me.I turned around and saw the Hulk racing towards me.
"Right," I said as I took off. It didn't take me long to reach Loki's cell because of how everyone was moving quickly for once.
"Everyone, be aware. The intruders are dressed as SHEILD agents." I heard through my ear piece.
"Barton, here. I'm at Loki's cell, monitoring for enemy agents."
"Barton," I heard Director Fury say, "Don't let them get to Loki. That's an order."
"Copy." I entered into the bay, and saw an agent sitting there. "Who are you?" I demanded.
"Ah, Agent Barton, how nice of you to join us," I heard a sickening sweet voice say from beside me.
"Loki!"
"You really shouldn't be surprised, my dear. I always had a plan. You and the monster were both instrumental to it."
"What do you mean?" I was confused. I knew how Loki had planned on using Dr. Banner, but it didn't make sense on how he planned on using me.
"All in good time, my dear. All in good time. Ah, here comes my brother. Watch and learn, my dear."
I was pulled over to one side of the room. "Let go of me!" I struggled to get out of his grip.
The door hissed open as Thor ran in. "No!" He screamed before launching himself at Loki. But it didn't make sense, Loki was right next to me. Just as Thor was about to hit Loki, he disappeared. Thor flew into the Hulk's cage, where the door was quickly shut by one of Loki's men.
"Are you ever going to not fall for that?" Loki asked condescendingly.
Thor hit the glass wall in anger. I felt the Helicarrier shake, but the glass was only cracked. I began to become scared because I knew how SHIELD had designed the cage.
Loki walked over to the control panel, having his man drag me along. "The humans think us immortal. Should we test that?" He tauntingly hovered over the button that would release the cage into open air. Suddenly, one of Loki's guards fell next to me. I looked over and Phil was standing there, with, of all things, one of the phase two weapons.
"Move away, please," Phil politely commanded. Loki slowly moved away, almost as if he was unsure of what Phil would do. "And let Melody go, please." Loki nodded to his man, who released me. I almost ran over to where Phil was. "You like this?" He asked Loki. "We started working on the prototype after you sent The Destroyer. Melody here helped develop it. I have no idea what it does. Do you wanna find out." I heard movement behind me and began to turn around to see what it was when I heard Phil gasp. Loki's scepter was protruding out of his spine and into his chest cavity.
"PHIL!" I screamed!
"NO!" I heard Thor scream from inside the cage. Phil slowly dropped onto the deck as his strength quickly left him. Loki walked over to the control panel and started to hit the button. He looked one last time at Thor before depressing the button, sending Thor into the air, hurtling towards the earth. Loki closed the hatch and moved towards the door, signaling his man to grab me and follow.
"You're going to lose," I heard Phil weakly say.
Loki turned to face him. "Am I?"
"It's in your nature."
"Your heroes are scattered, one with me now, your floating fortress falls from the sky, where's my disadvantage?" Loki mockingly stated.
"You lack conviction." Phil told him.
"I don't think I..." Loki started to say before Phil shot him with the Destroyer prototype. Loki went flying back into the wall.
"So that's what it does," Phil said before he seemed to lose control of his movements. I quickly elbowed Loki's man, turned around and knocked him out with a swift punch into the windpipe followed by a blow to the nose and to the temple. I rushed to Phil's side.
"Phil! Don't die! You can't die!" I felt someone roughly grab me from behind and drag me away. I hit at him, and in that moment of confusion, used my comm to get a hold of someone, anyone, to let them know where Phil was and that he needed help.
Loki continued to drag me, taking me to the top of the deck. "Come with me, little Midgardian. I have great plans, and your assistance is required." We quickly arrived to a carrier and took off.
"Where are you taking me, Loki?"
"To a glorious battle. Your heroes will not attack me if I have you."
