A/N: Welcome back every one! First off, to all who have reviewed, THANK YOU! For all that have read, THANK YOU! And to all that have followed or favorited, THANK YOU! I now have a laptop, so I should be able to update more regularly! I'm so excited with how well this story is going, and so sad that it is about to end. However, I have decided that for this story, I will continue it past the movie. If I do a sequel, it will not follow Avengers: Age of Ultron, simply because I feel the need to make my own Avengers story. However, this will be good for you guys! I'm so excited with all these ideas I'm having, I only have to get them onto paper and see where they will be going. Anyways, here's the next chapter! Enjoy!
We quickly made it outside, where Nat was waiting with a quinjet.
"Good to see you again, Mel. I missed having another girl around."
"I wasn't gone long, Nat."
"I know. Fury thought that you would have been brainwashed by now, though."
"Speaking of brainwashing, how is Clint here?"
"Cognitive recalibration. I hit him really hard on the head during a fight."
"You fought?"
"Yeah. While you were getting thrown around by Hulk and guarding Loki."
"Thrown around by Hulk?"
"I'll explain later. Right now, we have a battle to win. Stark, we're heading north-east."
"Where is Tony? His location isn't at the Stark building."
"He's coming, Melody," I heard a voice say.
"Steve." I can't really be sure how I said his name, but apparently the way I said it riled up Clint.
"Steve? STEVE? What happened while I was gone? What did you do to my little sister?" He demanded while attempting to shove Steve against the quinjet bulk head.
"Hawk, now isn't the time," Nat interrupted. "Stark is headed this way," she said as Tony passed by our way. She shot at the Chitauri with the machine gun. Clint moved up to sit next to her.
"Let me shoot. You fly."
"Clint," I said, looking out one of the windows.
"Yeah."
"See them?" Nat asked.
Loki and Thor were fighting on Tony's balcony. Lightning and blue rays were flying every which way. Nat banked the quinjet, causing me to stumble into Steve. Once again, his arms unconsciously wrapped around me, not letting me fall.
"Sorry," I mumbled.
"It's okay. I've got you."
"Get your hands off my sister!" Clint yelled before he shot the minigun at Loki. Loki dodged and quickly returned fire at us. We were hit.
"Hold on everyone!" Nat tersely said as she tried to control our descent. Steve held on to me tightly. I wrapped my arms around him, suddenly remembering why I was afraid of heights.
We landed hard. Clint and Nat quickly unbuckled and opened the quinjet landing door. Or, what was left of it. Steve let go of me, almost reluctantly.
"Get your hands off of her," Clint all but growled to Steve.
"Lay off him, Clint!" I said before quickly storming off the quinjet. I turned around before I exited. "Please tell me someone thought to grab my weapons before coming here."
"Of course," Clint replied smugly.
"Alright, where are they?"
Clint glanced at Steve who then sheepishly moved away from the bulkhead. "Behind me, Melody."
I quickly moved over and grab my bow and pistols. I strapped my pistols to my quiver and selected an arrow. "That's better."
We all quickly gathered outside of the flaming quinjet when suddenly it was as if the day turned to night. A giant shadow passed over us, coming from the portal. What it belonged to was the scariest thing I had every seen. It was crawling with the Chitauri and looked like larvae that could fly.
"What is that?" I asked, not really wanting to know. The Chitauri began to launch themselves off the thing and onto the surrounding buildings.
"Stark, are you seeing this?" Steve said in awe.
"Hello, madam. I'm JARVIS. Master Stark asked me to link you with the rest of the team."
"Uhh.. Thank you, JARVIS."
"Where's Banner?" I heard Tony ask. "Has he shown up yet?"
"Banner?" Steve asked incredulously.
"Not yet, Tony. Were you expecting him?" I replied to Tony's question.
"Just keep me posted," he said before closing off communication with us for a moment.
I looked up and saw Loki flying over head on one of the Chitauri flying chariots thingies. He began firing at anything and everything in sight. The street starts to explode as Loki fires at the cars and people on it. People are streaming towards us, panic and hysteria already setting in. Steve looks over the bridge and notices something
"Those people down there need help."
Nat looked at him before grabbing her pistols and telling him to go.
Steve looked over to Clint. "Can you hold them off?"
"Captain, it would be my genuine pleasure." Clint turned around and began to fire at the Chitauri coming towards us. I turned and looked at Steve.
"Where do you want me, Steve?" I asked, ready to defend New York and the people living in it.
"Find Loki," he said. "Keep track of him. He's causing enough problems as it is." He then jumped off the bridge onto the road below us. I quickly ran to the side and leaned over, watching to see which way he was headed.
"JARVIS?"
"Yes, Miss Barton?"
"Can you patch me into to Tony, please?"
"Right away, Miss Barton."
"Tony?!"
"A little busy, Agent Barton."
"This will be real quick. What do you have that I can fly or use to fly?"
"JARVIS, get Agent Barton a suit. Disable all confidential programs and allow it to fly and defend. Alright, Melody. Stay as still as possible, a suit is headed your way."
"Thanks, Tony."
"No problem. Now do me a favor."
"Yeah?"
"Shoot this thing with a heavy duty arrow." He flew past me, the Chitauri giant right behind him. I quickly selected a highly explosive arrow, and sent it towards the eye. "Thanks. Here comes your ride."
I turned around and saw one of the Iron Man suits headed towards me at high speed. I flinched and it started to slow down. It landed right in front of me and opened up. I hesitantly entered and felt it close behind me.
"Hello, Miss Barton. What is your intended target?"
"Loki. I put a tracker on him when he held me captive. Here's the number. Are you ready JARVIS?"
"Yes, ma'am."
"Alpha Charlie Juliett 5 6 Niner Tango Quebec. Let me know once you have the number entered in. To track it, it requires voice recognition."
"Is this in the SHIELD data file, ma'am."
"No, JARVIS. It's in my network. I'm going to give you access code 53379. That should let you in. Don't let Tony know about this or let him in."
"Understood ma'am. It's awaiting your command."
"Melody Faith Barton. Access code 59746. Track target. Give coordinates to computer. JARVIS, can you get me to where ever Loki is?"
"Right away, Miss Barton."
