A/N: Here's the next chapter, guys! I had fun writing this chapter and knew exactly where I wanted to end it, as you will see. I hope you are enjoying this story as much as much as I'm enjoying writing it. Please, leave a review and tell others about this story. I've also posted the prologue to my X-Men fanfiction titled "Changing Fate." Please check it out when you have a chance and leave a review on it. Chapter one will soon be posted for it.

I followed JARVIS's directions to where Loki was. Several times, I had to find a new route to where Loki was simply due to where destruction and mayhem was occurring and where Loki was moving to.

"Melody? I could use some help here," Clint said from my helmet.

"Kinda busy, Clint."

"I'm getting overrun here." At that moment, I spotted Loki.

"JARVIS, eject me from the suit and go help Clint."

"Are you sure ma'am?"

"Yes, JARVIS. I can handle myself. And let Clint know that help is on the way." I dropped out of he suit, landing on my feet near Loki. "Hello, Loki."

"Well, my dear, I was wondering when you would come after me."

"You should have known that I would not have let you get away, especially after everything you've done."

"You mean what I've done to you, Miss Barton. I will not lie to you. It was never my intent to get you angry. Quite the opposite, in fact. I wished for you to join me of your own free will."

"You don't sand for free will, Loki. You take the power of choice away from people. And I will not allow you to do so any longer."

"I'm afraid you can't stop me, Melody. Now, if you'll excuse me." He turned away from me and disappeared, leaving my tracking device behind.

"Melody, I thought you were tracking reindeer games?"

"I was. I found him, but he disappeared on me."

"Then go help Cap."

"Got it. Where is he?"

"Have JARVIS direct you there."

"Uh, about that. I'm not in the suit any more."

"WHAT?!"

"I had JARVIS go help Clint."

"Oh, for crying out loud. Hang on, I'm on my way." Seconds later, felt myself being lifted up. I glanced up and saw that it was Tony and relaxed a little bit. "Hey, Melody. How's life?"

"Would be better if the world wasn't ending."

"Fair enough. Here's your stop!" Tony dropped me next to Steve. "Here she is Cap, ready to fight," he said before flying off.

"Good to see you again, Melody. Having a good time?" He asked before turning around and punching a Chitauri warrior in the face. Or, what would constitute as it's face.

"The best. If this is how all dates go, it's a wonder I haven't dated before," I said, half sarcastic. I saw a Chitauri running towards me and Steve, and, just as I was about to shoot it, I saw an arrow appear in it's neck.

"Steve, I swear, if you hit on my sister anymore, the next arrow is going into you," I heard Clint say from behind me.

"Clint! Leave him alone! You may be my older brother, but I am an adult. I can handle myself."

"Like you handled Loki?" There was a period of silence, broken only by sounds of Tony cursing in the comm system run by JARVIS.

"What did you just say?" I demanded.

"You heard me." I quickly turned around, hastened over to Steve, and promptly kissed him in the lips.

"At least I wasn't brainwashed into thinking that Loki was the best thing since sliced bread. At least I didn't destroy the Helicarrier. And you know what, Clint, you have absolutely no right to tell me what to do outside of the range and practice area. You left me after our parents died." I punched a Chitauri that was getting a little too close to the group for my comfort. Thor landed next to us, causing all the Chitauri that had been surrounding us fall over, unconscious.

Steve turned to him. "What's the story upstairs?"

"The powers surrounding the cube are impenetrable."

Tony's voice came through the comm, "Thor's right. We gotta deal with these guys."

"How do we do this?" Nat asked. I looked around, gazing in everyone except Clint in turn, than looking at the surrounding area. I saw... something approaching in the distance, but I couldn't tell what it was.

"As a team." Of course that came from Steve, his military training kicking in.

Thor took one look at him before saying, "I have unfinished business with Loki."

Clint expanded his bow before replying.

"Save it, Loki's gonna keep this fight focused on us and that's what we need. Without him, these things could run wild. We got Stark on top, he's gonna need us." As Steve was talking to the group, the thing that I had noticed before was getting closer and closer. I was prepared to attack it, should it prove hostile, but as it got within five yards of us, I saw that it was Dr. Banner on a little motorbike. When he reached the group, Steve stopped talking. Dr. Banner got off the bike and looked around at New York City.

"So, this all seems horrible," he said nonchalantly.

"I've seen worse," Nat replied the same way.

"I'm sorry," he replied. he looked at me and cringed. "I'm sorry for what I did to you too, Miss Barton." I was so confused until I remembered an earlier comment made by Nat.

"No, we could use worse," Nat told him, giving me a look saying she would explain Dr. Banner's cryptic comment later.

"Stark?" Steve said. "We got him."

"Banner?"

"Just like you said."

"Then tell him to suit up. I'm bringing the party to you."

We all got ready for whatever Tony was leading to us. Whatever we were expecting was a shadow to what Tony was leading to us. It was one f the creatures that had flown out of the portal and carried Chitauri on it.

"I... I don't see how that is a party," Nat said, astonishment in her voice.

"With Tony, anything's a party," I replied.

Steve turned to Dr. Banner. "Dr. Banner, now might be a really good time for you to get angry."

"That's my secret, Captain." He shot Steve a smile. "I'm always angry." And with that, the Hulk made his appearance.
