Well, here's the final chapter of my little story. I want to thank those of you who read and I hope that now that this is complete more people will read it...because I'm not the best writer on this site and I'm pretty proud of this one. I hope someone enjoys this story as much as I enjoyed writing it and getting into Cogsworth's character.
Disclaimer: I don't own Beauty and the Beast because if I did, Cogsworth would get his own movie.
The next morning, I got up earlier than I normally would for sunrise watching to prepare the picnic. Every few minutes, I checked my pocket for the ring and smiled at the feeling of it. I made a large loaf of bread and plenty of jam. I went to her room with the basket and waited for her to emerge. "Good morning," I whispered.
"Good morning…why on earth do you have a picnic basket?"
"I have not made you a nice picnic in a while…" I replied, having rehearsed that line multiple times the previous night.
She smiled, "You really are the best."
We walked to our favorite spot in the gardens and I laid the blanket down. I emptied the basket and sat down next to her. She leaned her head on my shoulder and took in a deep breath, "It is a lovely morning…chilly, but still lovely."
"Yes, I concur."
We stayed like that until the peak of the sunrise. I sat straighter, causing her to remove her head. She gave me a confused look as I put my hand in the pocket to reach for the ring. "Eveline, I love you so dearly. Everything about you fills me with joy. I never imagined finding love until I met you. You are the best thing to ever happen to me and I want to feel that love every moment of every day. You are my libération," I pulled out the ring and heard a soft gasp, "Will you marry me?"
"Oh, Cogsworth! Yes! I love you, I love you so much!" Tears were streaming down her face and her smile grew brighter with each second. She kissed me, during which I could taste the tears, but I embraced the feeling as I knew they were filled with joy. I pulled her closer to me and was filled with the most joy I had ever felt. As we separated, we both smiled brightly. She had kissed me so quickly that I had not had time to place the ring on her finger. I put it on her and she smiled. "This is so beautiful, Cogsworth."
"Not as beautiful as you."
She smiled, "I love you, my liberation."
Clarisse~
Today is the day of my sister's wedding. For the past hour, Eveline has been going back and forth between fear and overwhelming joy. Every time I attempt to calm her down, she starts telling me that I have no idea what she is feeling, which I believe. "Ev?"
"Yeah?"
"Are you ready? It's time…"
Her expression changed to a smile, "Yeah, I finally am."
Hearing the beautiful piano play the wedding march fills me with an overwhelming joy. As the other bridesmaids and groomsmen walk the aisle, I turn back to Eveline and whisper, "You've got this." It is now time for Lumiere and me to walk. Then the church stands and watches as my sister walks down the aisle. I hear Cogsworth's gasp and I turn to smile at him.
Once the vows were said, we went straight to the second grandest reception of the castle's history. Second only to that of Prince Adam and Belle. Mrs. Potts sang the first dance song that was written by me to my sister and Cogsworth entitled 'Libération.' Eveline smiled at me as she heard the words:
My dear one, I found my libération, I never thought this day would come.
I waited so long, wondering if I could ever be set free, then I found you.
Nothing can compare to the love we share,
You believed in me when I thought all hope was forever lost.
Now, we will live forevermore in love. Never again lonely.
I praise the day I met you, the day I was eternally changed.
I will never forget the way I felt the very first day you said you loved me.
My dear one, I found my libération, I never thought this day would come.
I waited so long, wondering if I could ever be set free, then I found you.
Nothing can compare to the love we share,
You believed in me when I thought all hope was forever lost.
Now, we will live forevermore in love. Never again lonely.
The way we mesh is the most beautiful thing I have ever had,
The unending truth will always hold firm,
My love for you will always remain.
My dear one, I found my libération, I never thought this day would come.
I waited so long, wondering if I could ever be set free, then I found you.
Nothing can compare to the love we share,
You believed in me when I thought all hope was forever lost.
Now, we will live forevermore in love. Never again lonely.
Never again, never again, never again, I say.
Never again, never again, never again, I say.
Loneliness is a thing of the past,
Your love for me defeated that curse.
My dear one, I found my libération, I never thought this day would come.
I waited so long, wondering if I could ever be set free, then I found you.
Nothing can compare to the love we share,
You believed in me when I thought all hope was forever lost.
Now, we will live forevermore in love. Never again lonely.
You, my dear one, are my libération.
Yes, I'm super cheesy and ended with a song. I almost deleted it, but I wanted to end with the same format as the movie (yes, I'm lame, get over it (; ) Annnyyyywayy, I loved writing this and I love Cogsworth and would love to see more people appreciating him. If you know of any Cogsworth stories (other than Tables Turned since that was my inspiration) I would love to read more! Thanks :)
