Nobody's POV

"I can't believe you two love birds have been together for over a year now. How come you didn't tell anyone?"

"I don't know Joan. I guess we both wanted to keep it on the down low."

"Well, it would have to have been pretty special if it took you little hooligans less than a single day to become an item Jack."

"I don't know about special, but it was pretty darn unique, that's for sure..."

It was a normal sunny day in Seaford, California, Kim and Jack had just finished sparing and practicing some new karate moves for the last few hours at the Bobby Wasabi dojo when they decided it would be wise to grab some lunch.

Shortly after taking a seat in one of the very stiff and uncomfortable booths at Falafel Phil's, they were approached by another familiar face, Joan, the mall security guard.

One thing then led to another and they were both soon spending their lunch time with each other.

They sat across from one another, Jack and Kim on one side with Joan on the other side, as they ate the food before them.

If you couldn't understand the conversation before-hand, Joan was asking about Jack and Kim's current relationship, something they haven't said much about to the current day.

All of their excuses had led to something along the fine lines of "It's never come up." or "You never asked.", both of which were exaggerated truths.

"All things aside, Kim, my question is how did it happen? I mean, it can't be that bad. If I wanted to hear bad love stories, I would just go back and reflect on my past dates. Like my date with Scotty Macintyre. It was a dark and cloudy night-"

"Joan!" both black belts yelled, quickly cutting her story short before she got too carried away.

Anyone who knows Joan knows that once she gets going, it'll be a while before she stops talking again.

"Sorry guys, I kind of let my deficient dating career get the best of me for a second there. So, will one of you explain to me how it happened now?"

Once this was said, both Kim and Jack had exchanged looks at one another, silently debating who would start the story off, which happened to be Jack.

"Alright, we were both on vacation during spring break when it happened."

Flashback

Jack's POV

"Yo Jack! Get the ball! Milton keeps on dropping it." Jerry hollered, annoyance taking over him as he watched Milton drop the ball for the fiftieth time now. "Hey! It's not my fault I have the arms of an octopus!" "More like jellyfish, octopi can at least control their arms." Eddie added, to the conversation, causing a smirk to appear on everyone's face but Milton. I couldn't help but scuff in hilarity as I forced myself up to get the football that my best friends Jerry, Eddie, Milton and Rudy we're playing with. After dusting off my khaki shorts and my light green tank-top, removing any bits of sand that had managed to make its way on me while sitting on my beach towel as I relaxed, I stood up and ventured over to the ball. Since I kinda wanted to hurry so I could sit back and relax after doing so many crazy events recently, I decided to increase my pace and started jogging. We've been at the beach since 8 a.m., have been active for over 10 hours now, and I'm completely exhausted. Why are we at the beach for 24 hours you may ask? Well, Rudy thinks that since it would be a good experience to camp a whole 24 hours and since we've never done it before, he proposed we try it at the beach. I could never turn down a trip to the beach, the only problem is when Rudy commits to something, he usually keeps his word on it. Except for the time he made the Seaford High Hall Of Fame and found out he didn't actually complete high school. Apparently he missed a few necessary days and his old gym teacher sort of "persuaded" him that he couldn't last a day there. That being said, one thing led to another and he ended up almost giving up the same day. There was also a time when Jerry bet him that he could eat more pudding cups. Obviously that didn't turn out well… And there was this other time when- "Hey!"

Nobody's POV

"Rudy? What are you doing here" Kim asked, raising a brow at his sudden intrusion as he stood firmly next to their table.

"Yeah Rudy, I'm trying to explain my most personal and inner thoughts here."

"You're most inner thoughts?!" he exclaimed "You're telling Joan all MY inner most personal thoughts here Jack!"

"Okay, okay, my bad. Anyways, can you go now? I'm trying to tell a story here."

Rudy threw his hands up in surrender as he took a step back.

"Hey, I'm just here to get some falafel. Phil gave me a coupon for a free half a ball with a purchase of 14 and ½ balls."

Once Kim comprehended exactly what he said, she looked at him, flattening her brows as she partially glared at the man.

"Really Rudy?" "Hey! It's a free ball Kim!" he protested, getting cut off moments later as Kim corrected him.

"Don't you mean half a ball?"

"Let me be happy for once Kim."

"Yeah, yeah Rudy, she will. Now if you don't mind, I wanna hear the rest of this story. So far, it sure is more interesting than all of my dates combined!" Joan said, speaking up as she grinned excitedly to hear more.

"Fine, but if you tell Joan one more personal thing about me, I'm gonna tell everyone about the time you went swimming at the beach a few years ago."

"Yeah, so? What's so wrong with swimming at a lake?" Jack asked, face written with confusion.

"Oh, you don't remember guy's night? Your trunks came loose and ripped in half when you tripped on that giant rock and got stuck for hours and hours and-"

"I get the point Rudy, we all do!" he bellowed, cringing at the memory as soon as it came to mind.

"Now please, as much as I'd like you to tell the whole mall about my trunks mishap, I'm trying to tell a story here!"

"Chill Jack, I'm leaving. Geez…"

And with that, he childishly stomped away, walking to the counter where Phil stood ready to take his order as Jack continued on.

"Ok, anyways…"

Continuing Flashback

Jack's POV

Just after approaching the football, I bent over to pick it up.

As I reached my hand out to grab it, an unfamiliar volley ball rolled into sight right next to it.

After picking up my football, I went to look around to see where it came from, but stopped when I just barely caught a figure jogging over to me.

Assuming the unknown individual was running over to get the ball, I picked it up and stood up as the person came to a stop before me.

It was a young girl, about my age and height.

She had long blond hair that cascaded over shoulders, chocolate brown eyes, and her tan proved with ease that she was definitely a Californian.

As I was able to observe this, I also noticed some more specific details, such as that she was wearing a surf shirt and some ripped jean shorts, both of which hugged her form with ease.

Before I could notice anything else, she raised her brow at me as she asked "Um, can I have my ball back?"

She chuckled at me, amused at how I had been standing there oddly with her ball.

Snapping me from my trance, I instantly held the ball out to her as I apologized, causing her to let a laugh escape her lips as she received it.

Once the ball was in her hand, she thanked me and I told her "No problem." before she turned to leave.

Just as she turned around, the knot in my throat seemed to finally clear as I called out. "I'm Jack."

At the sound of my voice, she instinctively turned back around on her heel to face me as I simultaneously held out my hand out to her.

After flashing me a warm smile, she shook my hand as she informed me of her name.

"I'm Kim."

"Nice to meet you Kim." I said grinning back, tossing and fumbling the football back and forth between my hands in a nervous matter.

Assuming I was finished with our short conversation, Kim then slowly turned herself around for the second time and began her retreat back to her friends.

After making a few steps of progress towards her destination, I managed to clear my throat once again in time to call her name.

She spun on her heel again, turning to meet me as she held the volleyball against her hip.

Her eyebrow was a tad bit raised at me, probably confused as to why I had called her again when I had led on already that I had ended the conversation, when in reality, it just took me a moment to pick my words and clear my throat again.

When I had her full attention, I rubbed my neck in discomfort as I asked "Do you think you'd maybe wanna hang out some time?"

She almost instantly sent me a wide smile, a smile that seemed to just run on for miles on end as she beamed with joy.

I couldn't help but stare at her and her beautiful smile, my mind taking over my eyes as I watched her bit her lip, probably while debating on my offer mentally.

After a few seconds, her smile grew in to a toothy grin as she said "Sure.", tossing the ball up in her hands as smiled in excitement.

Just then, I heard a familiar voice echo from behind me.

"Come on Jack, throw us the ball!"

Had to ruin the moment didn't you Rudy?

I smoothly ran a hand through my hair, grinning one more second at Kim before turning around, glaring at the Rudy, and rocketing the ball at him.

The ball purposely shot into Rudy's stomach, causing him to stumble backwards and off of his feet while the guys snickered at his suffering.

Once I saw him hit the ground, I turned back around to face Kim and began to say "So Kim, do you think we could maybe-" but when I realized she was gone, I cut myself off.

I looked around, scanning the crowd of people scattered on the shoreline for her, but to my disappointment, she was nowhere to be seen.

When I was soon convinced she was gone, I exhaled deeply in frustration as I took one last look around, using my last bit of hope remaining to check the beach before revolving back around return to the guys.

As I walked back, Jerry took notice at my mood change as he ended up taking a football to the face.

After yelling at Eddie and throwing the ball angrily at him in return, he gave everyone else the timeout signal as he jogged over to me.

Just as he caught up with me, I took a seat on my towel and put my aviators on before leaning back.

I interlocked my fingers and used them as a head rest for my skull as I closed my eyes.

Just after taking a deep, relaxing breath, I felt the sun vanish off from my skin as Jerry stood before me.

"Bro, what happened back there?"

"Leave me alone Jerry, I don't wanna talk about it."

"Come on man, tell me. You usually don't snap unless it's for something important."

Hoping he'd get the clue that I didn't wanna talk about it still, I continued to unwind as before.

Sadly for me, he continued to ignore me.

I continued to sense his lingering presence, letting me know he either caught on to what I was really thinking, or was confused as he sometimes was.

I opened my eyes and looked at him through my shades, ratifying that this time he wasn't confused.

Just then, he asked me something that caught both my interest and me off my guard.

"Was it a girl?"

After hearing that, I sat up, leaning back on my arms as I looked up to him.

"It was wasn't it?"

"It wasn't a girl, it was the girl."

"Ooh, does The Jack Brewer have a crush?" he said, smirking I glared at him.

"Not funny man."

"Hey! I'm just saying what you said. So, what makes her so special?"

"I don't know, she just seems… different."

"Um, can you be specific?"

"No."

"Well, ok then. Did you find anything out about her?"

"No."

"You get her number?"

"No."

"Then what did you get?"

"Nothing besides her name, I was about to ask her on a date when Rudy yelled at me for the ball, and when I turned back around to find her, she was gone."

"I see. She pulled the old hit and run on you. Don't worry man, take it from the ladies' man when I say this… if it really was meant to be, you'll see her again."

"Thanks Jer."

"No problem man, now you wanna join us for dinner? Rudy wants to go eat."

"Sure, let's go."

And with that, I got up and followed the group to the closest beachside restaurant.

After being placed at our rounded booth that was just so conveniently placed in the corner of the restaurant, we all took a menu in hand and began looking over what to eat.

We all sat in the order of, from left to right, Rudy, Eddie, Milton, Jerry and me at the other end as desired.

Throughout the time we waited for our food to arrive, I seemed to be more distant from the guys as a familiar thought came to mind. For some reason, I couldn't get Kim out of my mind.

The memory of our encounter earlier just seemed to want play over and over again in my mind.

It's like putting your favorite song on replay, you could listen to it all day and never get tired of it.

That being said, I more and more began to drift away from the conversation at the table and fall into my own state of thought while I stared at my fingers, fiddling with one each other on the tabletop.

Before I knew it, the food was delivered to us and I began to eat my food, glancing out the window next to me occasionally as I did so.

Just then, my jaw dropped slightly at the sight I've been looking for.

There was Kim, standing right outside the restaurant.

My eyes widened and my jaw dropped in disbelief as I saw her and who I assumed to be her friend, walking towards the restaurant.

As I did this, Jerry must have caught notice of my facial expression since he then held out a French fry to me as he said "Dude, relax. Eat the fry and relax."

Listening to him, I snatched the fry and chewed it down in seconds as my mouth remained slightly agape once again.

He exhaled in submission as he gave up, leaning closer to me as he looked in the same direction as me to try and find out what I was looking at that distracted me so much. In the corner of my eye, I could see a smirk grow across his face as he whistled in a flirtatious fashion.

As he continued to eye Kim like eye candy, he whispered to me "Nice choice dude."

After handing me a few more fries in hopes to get my mouth to finally shut, I heard a snicker to my side.

Moments later, Jerry leaned over to whisper to me "Yo, Jack. Go up to her and ask her out man, you know you want to."

Once again listening to his advice, I snatched the fry in his hand without looking, quickly getting out of my seat and jogging to the front door.

As I ran, I heard Jerry call out my name, but since I had no time for Jerry's antics, I ignored his plea and made my way to the door.

I pushed open the door to the exit, ate the fry, then took a deep breath as I saw Kim getting closer and closer.

Just then as I came within ten feet of her, she caught notice of me and a smile appeared on her face as her friend departed and made her way into the building of a nearby building.

As I got closer, I also noticed her friend who was previously with her had left, leaving me to believe they were on a bathroom run.

At the sight, a beaming grin grew across my face, but as I finally approached her, I felt my mouth begin to tingle.

"Hey, Jack isn't it? Sorry I ran off earlier, my friend got some food here and didn't take it so well."

She laughed, causing me to a laugh as well in reaction to her.

Remember when I said my tongue tingled?

Yeah, it didn't take long for me to realize it wasn't one of those nice, tingly feelings.

My tongue more and more felt like it began to swell and due to the fact it was also numb, it felt almost impossible to talk.

In hopes to keep the conversation going, I managed to say "Oh really? What happened?"

It began to slowly become obvious my speech was impaired, but from her expression, it seemed that she didn't notice… yet.

By the second I began to feel my face begin to burn, and with the fiery sensation in my mouth, I felt a single bead of perspiration begin to form as she continued on.

"Yeah, she got some food here to go to bring to the beach and apparently there was a pepper on the side next to her fries on her sandwich. She was talking to me when she accidently mistaked it for a fry. It made her tongue swell, her face turn red…" she began, squinting at me before her eyes widened in realization.

"Kinda like how you look now…"

I could feel my face getting redder and redder by the second as she said this, realizing I had done the same as her friend.

"Oh my gosh, did you eat one too?"

Since I had no ability to talk clearly since my tongue had now swollen enough to fill half of my mouth, I simply nodded as I felt my breathing pace increase significantly.

With her knowing the reasoning of my odd behavior, she pointed to the door as she ordered out "Go, go get a drink! Go, go, go! I'll wait here!"

The second she said that, I nodded and took off running back inside the building.

Once inside, I frantically scampered around looking for a drink.

Knowing I could easily get a drink from the guy's table, I ran over and grabbed the fullest cup to me which happened to be mine.

After immediately taking off the lid, I chugged the drink down until there was nothing left and moved onto the next drink until I had demolished all four of Eddie, Milton, Jerry and I's drinks.

Once the fourth drink was swallowed, I took a deep exhale in relief as I felt my mouth begin to return to its normal state.

With most of the pain gone, I wiped the sweat from my forehead and looked at the guys, who sat there confused and alarmed at my panicky behavior.

"Jack, what's wrong?" Rudy asked.

Over my heavy breathing, I managed to explain one word at a time. "Jerry. Pepper. Mouth. Fire." before huffing out a gust of warm air out of my mouth in relief as I felt most of the fiery pain disappear.

Luckily for me, Rudy caught on, but in the wrong way.

Assuming I was still burning up, he took his glass which was the only remaining, and tossed the drink in my face, soaking me in his red, fruity drink.

He put the glass down and watched me intently as he waited for me to say something.

I felt my face began to slowly turn red again, this time not from the heat, but from the anger being produced towards Rudy.

I shook my head once, clearing off some of the excess punch from my face as shot daggers at him.

"Rudy, I'm fine now. That's why I didn't need your drink!"

Realizing his mistake, he cringed in his spot and mouthed an apology as I exhaled loudly at him, causing some nearby bystanders to turn to face us in curiosity of what was going on at our table.

Knowing it would just be better to ignore him and return to Kim now that I could talk, I took a deep breath before walking in the opposite direction.

I walked over to the front door and once I was outside, I noticed Kim wasn't there.

I desperately looked around for her, pacing back and forth as I observed the different directions she could have gone in.

After a minute, I accepted the fact that she indeed left and turned back on my heel.

I felt my shoulders slump downwards in displeasure, drooping down further with each step I took back towards the table.

Once I returned to my seat, the guys immediately closed their conversation and eyed me curiously.

"Hey Jack, why you looking so glum?" Eddie asked, just before taking his last bite of food.

"She disappeared again."

"Who's she?" Eddie asked, sending confused faces my way.

It hit me then that I've only told Jerry so far of the mystery girl I met. Ignoring his question, I simply slumped in my seat and folded my arms together in frustration.

"Jack, what happened?" Rudy asked me with concern as I heard Jerry snicker at my side.

I finally gave in and responded to Rudy "When Jerry gave me a pepper-"

"Hey! I wasn't offering it to you ok? You just snatched it from me, totally different things dude."

"Whatever, anyways… my mouth went numb as I went to talk to her and that's why I ran inside to get a drink and when I came out, she was gone."

I then felt Jerry pat my shoulder as he told me "Don't worry man, remember what I told you earlier. You'll be fine."

"Yeah, sure." I said, taking a bite of my food before slumping back into my chair in disappointment.

With Kim nowhere to be seen once again on one of the busiest beach days ever, I had felt as if I had lost all hope in finding her a third time.

Nobody's POV

"Ok, so after meeting each other two times, neither of you asked the other out?"

"Pretty much. It was just a storm of bad timing doing an amazing job of raining on our parade."

"Well that's disappointing Kim. That sounds like how all of my dates go. They all go terribly wrong and never last longer than twenty minutes."

Kim's eyes immediately widened as her brows both went up in confusion.

She was unsure of how she should to react to such a strange response.

Taking a second to glance over at Jack, she saw he did the same as they both knew they were thinking similar thoughts.

Seeing Kim was still currently speechless from the information she had just received, Jack tried his best to step in, but couldn't for as he felt a knot in his throat form just before he could speak.

Sensing the awkward tension between the two before her, Joan kept the discussion alive as she redirected the conversation in a different route.

"So, what happened next? Why did Kim leave you?" she asked, eyeing Jack with confusion as she motioned her to look to Kim for the answer.

"Well, it started once he ran inside…"

Kim's POV

The shaggy haired boy ran inside, sprinting through the doors of the restaurant as remained in my spot.

Now that I was alone, I felt the discomfort of awkward silence fall upon me as I took a closer look at the surrounding area.

The spot which was once open, free of people, was now filled to the brim with clusters of families and friends passing by the front of the restaurant, navigating their way around the area with slight confusion.

As I waited, I couldn't help but catch notice of a family of four, one of them a young little boy about a quarter of my age, and the other a young girl who seemed to be slightly older than the other.

As they passed me, I watched them withdrawal from the area as I was suddenly pulled out of my thoughts at the feeling of someone tugging on my arm.

I turned quickly in the direction of the abrupt heave and went to glare, but calmed when I realized it was my friend Mika.

"Mika, why are trying to rip my arm off?"

"Julie said she spotted someone on the beach."

My brows instantly furrowed in confusion of her excitement.

"Okay, what's so special about this person?" I asked, showing much confusion as a smile on her face seemed to grow beyond its expected capabilities.

"This person is Peyton Clark! You know, the actor? He's 18 and not to mention really hot. Come on!"

Two things first came to mind.

One, since when can Julie recognize a celebrity?

She's always buried in her school work and didn't even recognize the last celebrity we happened to run into at a restaurant, which happened to be actor Austin North.

That guy might have been eating ice cold frozen yogurt, but he was anything but cold.

The girls and I didn't lie when we all agreed how hot he was.

With that, I was dragged my way back to our spot on the shore, the thought of Jack slipping out of my unintentionally slipping by my mind.

Nobody's POV

"Time out" Joan began, pausing Kim's story as she raised a finger at her.

"Since when can Julie recognize a celebrity? You told me a few weeks ago she didn't recognize that smokin' hot actor you and some others ran into. You met him while getting frozen yogurt right?"

"Hot celebrity?" Jack asked, stepping a foot into the conversation as he turned to face Kim in confusion.

Ignoring his jealousy, Kim kept her attention on Joan's question as she responded.

"Yeah, as for Julie, she's always waist-deep busy with books, homework and/or Milton."

"Um, Kim. Who was this hot celebrity exactly?"

"Why does it matter Jack?" Kim asked him, smirking at him as his face flushed of embarrassment.

"What?" he said, his voice going up several octaves higher than it normally was.

That's how Kim knew when he was lying.

Jack's a very honest person, but when he gets embarrassed, that's a different story.

After clearing his voice, he then continued on "It doesn't matter, I was just curious is all…"

Just then, Rudy, who just received his food walked by, mumbling loud enough for us to hear a "Mhm".

"I'm serious!" Jack yelled at him, catching the attention of nearby customers for a minute before they turned their attention back to their own tables.

"Can you guys tell me now how you both finally got together now? The suspense is killing me." Joan pleaded, motioning for them to hurry up with her hands.

"That and I only have five minutes before I have to clock in from break and get back to work."

"Okay, well-"

"Wait Kim, I think it would be better for me to explain since more happened on my end. You mind?"

"Go crazy Jack, whatever makes you wake up every day." Kim laughed, putting her arms up in surrender as he continued on with the flashback.

Jack's POV

Jerry, Eddie, Rudy, Milton and I were back at the beach, arriving just in time for sunset.

Before the sun could go down, we decided it would be a fun idea to set up a bonfire.

Eddie and Jerry collected some nearby wood they found by a collapsed tree while Milton decided it would be safer for his back if we stuck to picking up twigs.

If we're being honest though, it was probably more for his pride than his frail body.

The guy was as thin and fragile as a blade of grass, it only made sense he should be the one to do the lighter lifting.

While they did this, Rudy and I collected a few rocks to make a ring for the fire pit.

In a few short minutes, we had the circle made, the wood in the center, and the twigs lit.

The fire quickly rose to life moments after thanks to Milton finding some, quote on quote, special, bark and twigs from a Eucalyptus tree.

Who knew certain woods were more flammable than others?

Continuing on…

We all took a seat around the fire, using the flames the warm ourselves once the sun went down under the horizon.

If you've never been to the beach, you'd be surprised how breezy the beach gets with the ocean waves and flat land surrounding you.

I sat on one of the spare logs Jerry and Eddie found while the others sat on either large stones or on their beach towels.

Milton was currently trying to get all of us to sing along to his campfire song as he played his guitar, but like last time we went camping, it didn't end up working out so well.

You'd think he would've gotten the clue when Jerry threw his last guitar in the fire, but I guess he didn't.

Not so smart of a move Milton. Anyways, he was trying to get everyone to join in and sing 'She'll Be Coming 'Round The Mountain' with him when I felt an unexpected tap on my shoulder.

I turned around to see someone I definitely didn't expect to see.

You can probably guess who.

"Kim?"

Realizing it was her, I tried rushing to my feet only to fail and instead slide backwards from the unstable sand beneath my feet and fall behind the log beside the spot where Kim was standing.

When I fell, she swiftly glided out of the way, dodging my fall as she laughed at my clumsiness.

I don't doubt her for laughing either.

I'm clumsy, but I've never been this clumsy, let alone so clumsy consecutively when she's around.

Because I didn't want to embarrass myself for longer than necessary, I hurriedly hustled to my feet, brushed myself off for sand and sent her a weak smile as I tried my best to hide the redness I felt heating my face.

Luckily for me, I'm pretty sure the lack of light did all the work for me.

She couldn't help but smile back before continuing on with what she was began with before I fell.

"Hi." she laughed, waving meekly at me briefly as she got her laughter under wraps.

"Um, do you mind if I talk to you for a second? You know... if you're not busy-"

"No! I mean no, I'm not busy. Sure."

"Why don't we take a walk? I think your friends over there are kinda busy anyways." she replied, glancing past me at my friends as she raised a brow at their odd actions.

"It's probably for the best, I have a feeling that guitar is gonna be burning wood in a few minutes, and I don't want to be there anyways when it happens." I laughed, beginning my walk in the opposite direction of the group as Kim joined me at my side.

"First of all" she began "I want to apologize again for leaving you there at the beach and for leaving you again at the restaurant. I guess there was some celebrity on the beach and she basically forced me to head back.

Especially after that, I felt obligated to see if you were still here, which I guessed you would be since there were tents set up."

"It's cool, no problem. Where did you go the first time? I know your friend dragged you off at the restaurant, but at the beach you just disappeared."

"It was really stupid."

She tilted her head down, shaking it side to side a she let a chuckle escape her lips.

"There was a bee, so a moved off to the side a few feet and my same friend Mika, from the restaurant, came over basically swooped me up and the next thing I know, I was off getting a smoothie."

"Do girls always grab one another like that when they need someone?" I joked, laughing along as Kim responded.

"No, just her. She's foreign, just moved here from Hakmakistan to stay with her uncle, wherever that is... The whole thing was all just really bad timing."

"Never the less, I'm glad I got to see you again Kim."

"Same to you Jack." she smiled at me, beaming with delight as I returned the favor.

"Correct me if I'm wrong, but I have a feeling you didn't just come here to apologize."

"I didn't. I'd like to take you up on that offer to hang out if it still applies."

Right then I slowly walked to a stop, turning to face her directly as I did so.

I looked her in the eye as she did to me as I responded back.

"Of course it still applies. By any chance are you free tomorrow?"

"Yeah, tomorrow's actually one of the few days I've had in a while with no plans whatsoever."

"Well, if you'd like to, I'd be honored to take you out on a date."

Once that was said, I couldn't help myself but gaze at her growing smile of excitement before she merely said back to "I'd really like that." biting her lip with a toothy smile as she responded.

I couldn't help but do the same myself, seeing her smile made me want to smile uncontrollably.

Shortly after, we ended up departing from one another as it was getting late and we both agreed we should head back to our respective groups, not before getting one another's numbers first of course.

When we parted, I headed back one way while she left in the opposite, sending me one last wave my way before disappearing down the sandy shore.

The whole walk back, I couldn't stop myself from grinning widely as I looked down at the number in front of me.

I could only re-read the name and the number of the newly added contact to my phone until I arrived back at the sight.

When I arrived back to the campsite, I took a seat back on my log and looked around, noticing I was getting a weird look from all four of the guys around me.

"What?" I asked, trying my best to elude them and their smirks that wouldn't disappear, telling me I did nothing but fail at that.

"What was that?" Eddie asked, stuffing his mouth with a marshmallow as he asked me the question.

It took me a second to ponder over what exactly just happened, but when I responded, I knew my answer was real and true.

"Perfect timing."

Nobody's POV

"Wow, that's one hell of a story. When you said it was really unique, you kids weren't kidding."

"Nope, it was crazy but worth it." Jack smiled, glancing over at Kim as Joan awed.

"It's been fun sitting with you guys, and I hate to run off on you, but I've gotta head back. Thanks for letting me with you two."

"No problem, you're welcome to hang out with us anytime Joan." Kim responded, watching Joan as she stood up before pushing in her chair.

"Alrighty, see you guys later."

And with that she left, leaving the two lovebirds to themselves.

"So…" Jack began, catching the attention of Kim as she turned to face him.

"So what?"

"Who was that hot actor you met?"

"Oh geez" she exhaled, laughing as she then stood up, turned to face Jack and waved.

"Bye Jack."

Without another word, Kim strolled out of the restaurant as Jack jumped to his feet, yelling after Kim "I'm just curious!" just before jogging out the door after her.
