A glass breaking is suddenly heard reverberating around the room
The source? Ozpin who had his eyes widened in shock for a single moment before he immediately regained his composure and said "It seemed my hand slipped."
"Should we pause the-."
"There's no need for that Glynda, I can make due without a mug, and the glass shards had already disappeared if that's what you are worried about."
"I… See…" Glynda replied as she adjusted her glasses
Team RWBY looked at this with confusion… Did Ozpin's hand really just slip? It seemed… Unlikely, but I guess he's only just human
Team STRQ on the other hand, was while confused, they didn't dropped their suspicions as easily as team RWBY
No experienced huntsman will make that kind of mistake after all without some kind of external influence… But the only real thing that could've been this "outside influence" is… Is the video they're watching, but how could that affect him?
Or maybe, it has something to do with their captor and all, I mean, if their captor has the power to literally teleport them and change this whole building without even a single sound and in such a short period of time, then them controlling or manipulating someone's emotions doesn't sound too far fetched
But ain't that terrifying to think?
"Mankind has grown quite fond of recounting the exploits of heroes and villains, forgetting so easily that we are remnants, byproducts, of a forgotten past." The Narrator said as the Beacon Tower glows
"Does… Huh, does that have anything to do with our planet's name?" Summer curiously asked particularly no one but to those who heard it just either shrugged not knowing the answer or also pondered upon that question as well
'Hm… I never thought of that.' Weiss thought to herself as she pondered over Summer's words
And the glow fades to show simple pictures of a man rising from the earth before being surrounded by creatures, barely held back by warriors
"Man, born from dust, was strong, wise, and resourceful, but he was born into an unforgiving world."
"Sometimes." Qrow added to the narration much to the amusement of Raven "But sometimes, not so much."
"An inevitable darkness –Creatures of Destruction– the Creatures of Grimm, set their sights on man and all of his creations."
"Yeah yeah, pretty obvious stuff, can we skip this already?" Qrow said as he lazily waves his hands around
"Hah Qrow, but no, you never know if the narrator might say something actually useful." Summer retorted "The previous trailers might be less than helpful, but this is a full-blown episode right now, we can't skip any details."
"These forces clashed, and it seemed the darkness was intent on returning man's brief existence to the void."
"Like right now! See?" Summer asked "The narrator just indirectly told us that Grimm existed before any Sentoids."
(A/N: Sentoids is an umbrella term for both Humans and Faunus cause calling both of them "Humans" or "Humanity" would not make sense in-universe seeing the Faunus can't be exactly called "Humans" and they might not like being called like that anyways)
"And how is that even connected to what the narrator said?" Qrow questioned
"'Intent on returning man's brief existence to the void'? Is it not already obvious?" Summer asked, genuinely confused
"..."
"Well… How do I say this?" Summer muttered to herself, trying to come up with a good explanation for her thought process "Ah, well, it suggests that there was a time when humanity did not exist –which is already obvious enough, but the use of 'returning' suggests that the Grimm were already present before humans or faunus arrived."
Weiss blinked…She didn't think of it like that… Huh, if Ruby's mother is like this, then why is Ruby the way she is right now? Maybe it's from her father's side?
"... Huh." Qrow said as he blinked
Darkness envelopes it, but suddenly a light was created in the middle of the darkness
"However, even the smallest spark of hope is enough to ignite change, and in time, man's passion, resourcefulness, and ingenuity led them to the tools that would help even the odds." The Narrator said as the screen showed a crystal
"This power was appropriately named 'Dust'." The Narrator continued
A lot of the watchers smiled at this
But, as some of them smiled at the screen, something caught Summer's attention before she thought to herself ''Appropriately'? That's… Yeah it's weird that dust as in the dirt and stuff and… Dust has the same name, but the name was appropriate all along? How…?'
Not that she'll be getting an answer anytime soon from what she predict
The crystal then goes down to the people hands
"Nature's wrath in hand, man lit their way through the darkness." The Narrator said as more people appears and a castle fades in behind them
"And in the shadow's absence came strength, civilization, and most importantly, life." The castle zooms out to show a map of Remnant to see three more Castles
"And that is how so many kingdoms rose." Ozpin felt the need to announce
"But only four remained?" Ruby innocently asked and Summer grimaced in second-hand embarrassment
"But only four remained." Ozpin nodded as he answered
Then lights appear on all four Castles
"But even the most brilliant lights eventually flicker and die..." The Narrator said as all the lights disappeared along with the Castles
"Nothing lasts forever after all." Summer solemnly commented and so many other watchers such as the Branwen twins, Ozpin, and Glynda agreed
"..And when they are gone... " The map of Remnant gets removes off the screen to show the Broken Moon, the screen then pans down to see Roman along with Junior's hired Henchmen
"...Darkness will return." The Narrator said
"I mean… That's pretty obvious, darkness is eternal after all, that's basic science, or specifically, basic astronomy. Darkness is the absence of light, and light wouldn't really last forever." Summer commented
"Your jokes aren't funny Sum, so shut the fuck up." Raven said to Summer who shrugged
"Eh, I tried."
Meanwhile, team RWBY was… A bit apprehensive, never have they ever thought of light and darkness (in a literal meaning) like that… And that's a bit scary to think
But what's even more shocking was that it came from Ruby's mother… Ruby Rose's mother… Are they really related?
They stop behind Roman, who reignites his cigar without touching it and grins
"So you may prepare your guardians..." The Narrator said as Roman goes down a road and frightening nearby citizens
"...build your monuments to a so-called 'free world', but take heed... there will be no victory in strength." The Narrator finishes as Roman makes his way to From Dust Till Dawn
"The narrator… Sounds more like she's talking to someone now instead of narrating…" Taiyang commented practically everyone's thoughts
"Oh wow, and he talked!" Qrow commented
"Yeah… You were pretty silent for a while there, Tai." Summer agreed with Qrow
"Bah! I was just watching the show."
The screen then cuts inside From Dust Till Dawn
"But perhaps victory is in the simpler things that you've long forgotten." Ozpin said as the screen pans down to see Ruby reading a Weapon Magazine
"Professor Ozpin/Ozpin?" Team RWBY, and STRQ –discounting Raven who had her right eyebrow shoot up– all said
"Things that require a smaller, more honest soul." Ozpin finishes
"Do you… Know the previous narrator?" Blake asked
"I do not recognize her." Ozpin answered before continuing it in his thoughts 'At least, not anymore. She is no longer the Salem I once knew of.'
The henchmen look around and at the Dust crystals in the display when Roman approaches the shopkeeper
"Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a Dust shop open this late?" Roman ask while a henchman points his gun towards the shopkeeper
"P-please Just take my Lien and leave!" the shopkeeper says to Roman
"Shhh, shhh, shhh, shhh, calm down, we're not here for your money." Roman says then looks at a henchman and orders him "Grab the Dust."
"That's… Odd, I thought they'll take the Lien and Dust." Summer said
"That is a rather odd behaviour of a thief." Weiss agreed
A henchman brings out a case opens it and removes one of several cylinders, which the group uses to take Dust from the tube containers on the walls
The screen cuts back to Roman to see him taking out another case and opening it
"Crystals. Burn. Uncut." Roman orders the shopkeeper
As another henchman goes for another tube, he hears a muffled song from someone, he looks at the source only to see a girl reading a magazine, he then unsheathes his sword
The whole of team STRQ, Glynda and the rest of team RWBY except Ruby was shocked to say the least
Summer held her head and massaged the base of her nose in both annoyance and second hand embarrassment before she sighs

"Good job at making yourself vulnerable!" Qrow commented on Ruby "Really good job right there!"

"Alright kid, put your hands where I can see 'em." The henchman said to the girl but got no response
"And this thief displays a level of idiocy comparable to that of Ruby." Weiss commented "As if the intense music and headphones isn't enough of a sign that she will not hear you!"
"Hey, I said hands in the air! You got a death wish or something!?" The henchman exclaimed as he walks towards her, the henchman taps the girl's shoulder, then the hood goes down to see Ruby surprised
The henchman motions to remove her headphones and Ruby complied
"Yes?" Ruby ask
"I said, put your hands in the air, now!" The henchman orders her
"Are you... robbing me?" Ruby ask unsure
"RAAAH!" Weiss exclaimed as she started intensely scratching her head in annoyance
Summer covered her whole face with her two hands before she a muffled scream is heard
Taiyang and Qrow were so dumbfounded that they can't even speak
Raven looks like she wanted to dig a hole and stay in it forever… Same man
Glynda massaged her temple in annoyance as she sighed in exasperation, she cannot believe that this kind of person has managed to enter Beacon two years early… Many more are more capable than this yet they haven't been given the same privilege as Ruby…
And Blake had her jaw dropped… Literally
"Yes!" The henchman said
"And this man is even more of an idiot…" Raven blankly commented
"Ooohhh." Ruby said realizing
"... Really? 'Oh'?" Blake asked Ruby who blushed in embarrassment
The screen cuts back to Roman as he waits for his men to finish the heist when a "Hey!" and "Hyah!" are heard, and the henchman earlier flies past him, Roman calmly motions for another to handle whoever did that to the henchman
The henchman then points his gun towards Ruby before saying "Freeze!"
"..." Everyone was just silent as they looked at the idiocy of every person in the screen
The screen then cuts outside the store to see Ruby with the henchman flying out of the store and breaking the glass in the process while 'This will be the day' music is being heard clearly now
Ozpin shook his head as he sighs in exasperation, this is one of the problems with youth right now, always ignoring that all of their actions have a consequence that someone will have to deal with
Ruby then unfolds Crescent Rose to its Scythe Form while it's resting on her shoulder, she then twirls Crescent Rose and impales it to the ground and turns off her headphones
"That's pointlessly flashy, I like it." Qrow complimented with a grin on his face
"So pointlessly flashy in fact, that it looks more like you're showing off." Summer felt the need to comment "Can't even justify it as psychological warfare…"
The screen then cuts back to Roman
"Okay~... Get her!" Roman orders his henchmen, the four remaining henchmen complied to Roman's order
"Look! Even the guy seemed to be unimpressed about what you just did." Summer said
And all what Summer said just made Ruby more embarrassed and made her fall deeper into the couch
A henchman almost got Ruby but Ruby twirls out of the way and kicks the henchman in the face and was sent flying
Ruby then readies her form while two henchmen coming behind her, She then shoots and lets her spin hitting a henchman in the process and sent him flying in the air
Ruby continues to spin until she decides to stop and hit a henchman using the blunt side of Crescent Rose
'Good… I won't be seeing blood be spilled right now.' Summer thought to herself
And unbeknownst to Summer, Raven and Qrow also had the same thought to themselves
Ruby was trained in non-lethal combat, which is not easy seeing as her weapon is a literal gigantic scythe, and not even a warscythe! Just a literal gigantic scythe meant for farming!
Although… Poor guys
Ruby readies her form again and cocks Crescent Rose, she shoots it while a henchman behind her shoots at her, Ruby shoots Crescent Rose multiple times using the recoil to avoid gunshots until she reaches the henchman that is shooting at her
Ruby launches the henchman into the air and impales Crescent Rose to the ground and abruptly stops herself, she spins and hit the henchman to the ground and lands
"Ouch." Qrow winced in sympathy
"You were worth every cent, truly, you were." Roman said while looking at the fallen henchman
"Well, Red, I think we can all say it's been an eventful evening, and as much as I'd love to stick around..." Roman is saying to Ruby as he drops his cigarette and points his cane at Ruby, the bottom part of the cane then moves upward to show a cross grid
"You… Are just standing there…" Blake said as she noticed Ruby's lack of action
"...I'm afraid this." Roman announced as he lifted his cane before he continued "is where we part ways."
Summer has to commend the man… That weapon is simple, subtle, yet does its job perfectly
Cause it doesn't a genius to know that it was meant for distraction, that man knew that a direct confrontation with someone like Ruby is very inadvisable and the man fully knew of that, so he decided to flee to live and fight another day
Ruby dodges the shot by launching herself into the air and lands safely, she then looks at where Roman is but only to see he is gone, she looks around to see Roman climbing a ladder
And just as Summer expected, no one gets onto a ladder that fast without already planning it beforehand (unless if you have super speed, something the man doesn't seem to have)
The shopkeeper then walks out his store before Ruby sees him "You okay if I go after him?"
"Uh-huh." The shopkeeper nodded
The screen then cuts on the top of a building to see Roman just coming up
Roman then starts to run then a shot was heard and Ruby is now seen also on top of the same building that Roman was on
"Hey!" Ruby shouts
"'Hey', really? That's it?" Taiyang deadpans while Ruby blushes in embarrassment even more "Not even the cliché 'stop right there thief'?"
"That cliché line is worse than saying 'hey'." Summer felt the need to retort
"I beg to differ." Qrow disagreed "'Hey' is even worse than that cliché line, didn't even say your intentions."
"Considering the fact that both of them already know their relationship with one another, you don't really need to state your intentions for the other person to understand what you meant." Raven sided with Summer
"Can you four not argue about something idiotic?" Glynda asked the four who just shrugged
"That's impossible with those 3." Raven commented
"Hey, don't leave yourself out here." Taiyang complained
"Enough." Glynda announced and Raven just scoffed
"Persistent." Roman hisses as he stops running
Ruby readies to fight him, but a getaway Bullhead rises up from the edge and opens the hatch to allow Roman inside
'Definitely a planned escape vehicle.' Summer thought to herself 'And also, how the heck did they afford to buy a Bullhead? That's not something any criminal can have…'
Not that Summer knew that Roman wasn't just "any criminal"
"End of the line, Red." Roman announces while throwing a Red Dust Crystal to Ruby's feet and shooting it before Ruby manages to react and it caused a explosion, but before the shot connected and explosion happening, a white blur appears between the Red Dust Crystal and Ruby
"WHY DIDN'T YOU USE YOUR SEMBLANCE IDIOT!?" Summer stood up as she exclaimed as soon as she saw what Ruby did, or rather, what Ruby didn't do
"Hah, even your mother called you an idiot." Weiss commented
"YOU SHUT UP AS WELL!" Summer said as she pointed at Weiss who firmly closed her mouth shut as she felt the intense pressure of Summer's anger
"Whoa-ho-ho-ho." Roman then laughs evilly before stopping when he notices something else on the roof "Huh?"
The smokes cleared to see a woman in a purple cape is now in front of Ruby that casted a circle of protection over both Ruby and herself with her wand
"Oh look, it's Glynda." Qrow commented
"Oh look, the idiot's talking." Raven said
"Oh shut up."
"You shut up."
"Both of you shut up!" Summer shouted at the twins, successfully pacifying them
If there's one thing that they found out the hard way, is that Summer turns into the devil when she's angry –actually no, the devil and Summer isn't a good comparison, it undermines Summer's skill
When Summer is angry, she would use everything she and the person she's angry at against them… Their words, insecurities, likes, dislikes, friends, enemies, history, all of that is used against them… And that's just what her target has and discounting what Summer has to offer…
Never do either want a repeat of the humiliation that lasted half a year
As Ruby looks on the woman –Glynda who then waves her weapon and summons several purple projectiles at the Bullhead and hitting it
The screen cuts to see Roman is thrown around in the back until he goes to the cockpit, where a woman wearing a familiar dress who her face is covered in a shadow is struggling with the controls
Summer growled, already annoyed at her supposed daughter's idiocy which was further enhanced by the fact that their captor purposely darkened the face of whoever the driver is… Something you usually don't do
"We got a Huntress." Roman says to the woman, the woman then gets up and heads toward the back as Roman takes the controls
'So she was the one that we fought.' Ruby thought 'Her dress looks kinda familiar? I swear… I feel like I've seen that somewhere…'
Glynda glows purple for a moment and aims another blast above the craft, resulting in a dark storm-cloud right over the jet
Weiss blinked once, and then twice…
Did Professor Goodwitch just make a storm cloud using her semblance and dust in tandem in a matter of seconds…? That is not something anyone can do willy-nilly!
Although… She guessed that Professor Goodwitch isn't just "anyone", there is a reason why she's considered as Professor Ozpin's right hand after all
"The hell?" Roman muttered
The screen cuts back to Glynda to see her flicking her wand, a hail storm of pointy ice then starts to fall down, one breaks through the window of the Bullhead and narrowly missing Roman's head
The woman reaches the back and her arms and chest light up like fire, aiming a burst of energy at Glynda. Glynda blocks it, but the flame splatters behind her and glows hot with the enemy's raised hand
Glynda back-flips out of the explosion, which destroys part of the roof, and magically gathers the shards to create a large arrow, which she throws at the craft
"Her semblance has quite the arsenal…" Raven commented as she leans in towards the screen with her eyes narrowing
From what she has seen, this woman's semblance and her usage on it will prove to be troublesome
The fiery woman shatters the arrow with several blasts, but it reforms just in time to hit the side of the jet due to Roman's quick aerial lean, the wreckage separates and reshapes into more arrows that encircle the jet, but the woman summons several glowing rings around herself that expand and destroy the shards
"I stand by what I said." Raven commented as the rest of team STRQ along with team RWBY's (minus Ruby) eyes widened in shock
This woman just eradicated concrete around her like it's nothing… And that power of hers also left the Bullhead unaffected
Her semblance really has quite the arsenal
"I… Guess so." Ruby hesitantly agreed with Raven not because she doesn't agree with the black haired woman, but because she's unfamiliar with her and Raven's interactions with team STRQ, Glynda and Ozpin didn't really left a good impression
Although, Raven caught on to Ruby's hesitancy in almost an instant but said nothing about it, there's no need to anyways
Ruby, finally acting, reverts her scythe into its rifle form to fire at the woman who blocks each shot and creates several blazing circles around her two opponents
"And you just acted now?" Weiss rhetorically asked Ruby
"Shock does things to a person, you know?" Summer retorted to Weiss from the other side of the theatre as the white haired girl's personality from what she observed is quite grating "And you'll know all about it once you graduate, if you graduate."
Weiss scoffed, and here she thought that she and Ruby's mother has a chance for friendship, but all hopes right now just got dashed
Glynda telekinetically pushes Ruby and rolls herself out of the explosion's radius; looking up to see the hatch close and the craft fly away
Summer groaned in annoyance… She understands why Glynda didn't just pull the Bullhead using her semblance… Doing so will leave her open to attacks and render her basically immobile since she needs a large amount of focus to influence something that big…
But that doesn't alleviate her growing annoyance that came from Raven's denial, her supposed daughter's idiocy that might've gotten her killed, and a myriad of other minor things
"You're a Huntress!" Ruby then exclaimed while looking at Glynda with a pleading, awe-stricken face
'Oh no.' Ruby thought to herself in horror
Summer raised her eyebrow in curiosity as her annoyance slightly dissipates
Weiss' eye twitched, she can feel something idiotic is about to happen
Yang blinked before she smirked… She knows her sister well enough to know what's about to happen
"Can I have your autograph?!" Ruby ask Glynda while her voice is so high pitched
"..."
Glynda sighed before shaking her head as she saw everyone's shock and blank face
The screen then cuts to see Ruby's face of shame as she is sitting while Glynda paces around the room while holding a tablet
"I hope that you realize that your actions tonight will not be taken lightly, young lady, you put yourself and others in great danger." Glynda scolds Ruby
Summer's eyes twitched as her usually wide open eyes narrows down and her lips in a thin and straight line
She does not like how Ruby is being treated here… Her actions are nothing compared to the potential material damage and lives lost her, in fact, it's precisely because of her actions that majority of those things were avoided in the first place
"They started it!" Ruby protested
"At what episode would you learn to have a filter on your words?" Weiss asked and Ruby just blushed even more, wanting nothing more than to be in a secluded place devoid of life
"At what episode would you do the same thing?" Summer asked, really not liking Weiss' personality at all, while it may be true that Ruby's reply to what Glynda said is somewhat… Lackluster but Weiss' response to it was unjustified "Oh wait, seeing as you're still like that even now, I doubt we would be seeing that happening anytime soon."
Weiss was… Hurt by what Summer said… She can see that Summer is not quite happy with her, or with anything currently for that matter but her specifically
"Hey, Weiss… Improved since." Yang said, attempting to defend her teammate despite her hesitance at trying to… Be against the person she sees as her mother even if she's a younger version of her
"So you're saying she was worse before?" Summer asked, immediately shutting down Yang's mouth and any possible retort she can come up with with it
"If it were up to me, you'd be sent home with a pat on the back..." Glynda started and the screen cuts to see Ruby smiling
"...And a slap in the wrist!" Glynda exclaimed while slamming her riding crop on the table which Ruby barely avoids
"Glynda…" Summer started
"Yes yes, I know." Glynda immediately interjected, already knowing what Summer is about to say "But the kid will not learn anything about consequences if we will just let her be without a single warning and reward her simultaneously."
"Hm…" Summer hummed before she nodded, understanding her reasoning
"Eeek!" Ruby exclaims in surprise
"But..." Glynda started "...there is someone here who would like to meet you."
Glynda then moves out of the way so Ruby can see a man in green and black come through the doorway while holding a mug and a plate of cookies
"Ruby Rose..."
"You... Have Silver Eyes." Ozpin said
Summer said nothing… Nothing at all as she turns her head to look at Ozpin with a blank expression
'Way to go Ozpin, as if that isn't obvious enough, why not just outright say the secret already!?' Summer thought to herself in annoyance as she huffed and turned her head back at the now frozen screen
The fact that Ozpin was promoted as the headmaster of Beacon really only means two things, it's that he's incredibly strong and… And he's part of the Nerusian Order
Summer still can't quite stop herself from complaining mentally about the old and well-known name of the Order, if they want to stay hidden, then not changing the infamous organization's name is not the way to go
"Uh, um..." Ruby said confused
"I-Is that important?" Weiss stutteringly asked curiously, while she may still be affected by Summer's verbal beat down on her and Yang, she's still curious at why Ozpin felt the need to mention Ruby's silver eyes
"It's probably because silver eyes are pretty rare in today's time period." Blake answered
'Hm… So she doesn't know…' Summer thought to herself as she observed Ruby's confused face 'That's good, the farther she is from this shadow war, the better.'
"So! Where did you learn to do this?" Ozpin ask Ruby while Glynda shows to Ruby her fight against the henchmen and Torchwick
"S-Signal Academy." Ruby answers nervously
"They taught you to use one of the most dangerous weapons ever designed?" Ozpin ask Ruby once again
"Well, one teacher in particular." Ruby specifies
"I see." Ozpin said
Ozpin then puts the cookies he is holding on the table in front of Ruby, she shyly picks one up and eats it in a single bite, and then when she saw they are not stopping her, she just shovels the rest of the cookies on the plate into her mouth
But while Ruby is eating, Ozpin continues to say "It's just that I've only seen one other scythe-wielder of that skill before. A dusty, old crow."
"Are… Are you referring to me!?" Qrow exclaimed as he looked at Ozpin in shock
"Yes." Ozpin unhesitatingly answered
"I'm not old!"
"You may not be now, but you were already in your 40s at that time when I said it."
"Well…" Qrow trailed off
"I can't even start to think why you even say that kind of thing in the first place." Raven commented
"Shut up."
"Oh! That's my uncle!" Ruby announced while cookies were still in her mouth before swallowing it and wiped her mouth, embarrassed "Sorry. That's my Uncle Qrow! He's a teacher at Signal. I was complete garbage before he took me under his wing. And now, I'm all like— Hooowaaah! Witchaaaa!"
Qrow blinked before saying "Wait, I was a teacher? At a school?"
"Are we sure that this is the same Qrow we're talking about?" Raven asked, also confused like her brother
"Yeah! Qrow is not someone who has a lot of patience, something that being a teacher needs a lot of." Taiyang agreed
"Hey! No need to hit me while defending me!" Qrow scoffed at Taiyang's words "But I agree with 'em."
"They're right, Raven would be a better teacher than Qrow, heck, even Tai could be a better one than him and that's saying something." Summer despite her mood being worsened due to the prior circumstances, agreed with her team
"..." Qrow said nothing as he looked at Summer
"..." Taiyang was of the same regard
"Time changes a person." Is what Ozpin answered to their words
"Hm… I guess so." Summer said as she thought over what happened to herself…
"I doubt even time would change Qrow's impatience and ineptitude." Raven commented
"Hey!" Qrow exclaimed
"Where did you learn 'ineptitude'?" Summer asked
Raven scoffed at Summer's attempt of an insult but said nothing in response
"Can we put aside useless banter for now and continue on with the video?" Glynda impatiently asked the four
"Fine." Qrow and Raven simultaneously said
"So I've noticed." Ozpin said while placing his cup on the table as he leaned in, then sat down opposite Ruby before he asked "And what is an adorable girl such as yourself doing at a school designed to train warriors?"
"Well... I want to be a Huntress." Ruby announces
"No shit." Qrow commented
"Nonsense. Banter." Glynda said, shutting Qrow up
"You want to slay monsters?" Ozpin ask again
"Oh no, Ruby wants to take gardening with her scythe and make a farm for herself." Qrow commented sarcastically only to be smacked by Summer "Ow!"
"Do I even have to repeat myself?" Glynda asked
"No, I'll be the one to shut this idiot up." Summer said
"Yeah! I only have two more years of training left at Signal! And then I'm going to apply to Beacon!" Ruby starts while her talking gets faster "You see, my sister's starting there this year, and she's trying to become a Huntress, and I'm trying to become a Huntress 'cause I wanna help people. My parents always taught us to help others, so I thought, Hey, I might as well make a career out of it!"
"I mean the police are alright, but Huntsmen and Huntresses are just so much more romantic and exciting and cool and really, gosh, you know." Ruby stops talking then stares at the two with a wide, crazy smile
Qrow was about to open up his mouth but very quickly shut it as he noticed Summer's cold stare
But even after that, Summer did not drop her stare, as if she's daring for Qrow to open up his mouth again which he did not do
Ozpin and Glynda studies Ruby
"Do you know who I am?" Ozpin ask
"You're Professor Ozpin. You're the headmaster at Beacon." Ruby answers
"Isn't that kinda late for introductions?" Taiyang asked but soon realized his mistake as he felt Summer and Glynda's stare
"Hello." Ozpin said while smiling
"Nice to meet you." Ruby said
"You want to come to my school?" Ozpin ask Ruby
"More than anything." Ruby answers with conviction
Ozpin exchanges glances with Glynda, who shows her disapproval with a "Hmmph" before he turns back to Ruby
"Well okay." Ozpin said
The screen cuts to see Ruby smiling with her eyes wide and open-mouthed
"That's it?" Weiss asked, not learning from either Qrow or Taiyang's mistakes but she was soon reminded when Blake immediately jumped and covered Weiss' mouth with her hand
But Weiss' didn't get the message as she immediately pushed Blake's hand away before saying "What is with you? Can you not suddenly enter people's personal space?"
"What is with you? Can you not read the atmosphere and realize that you should keep your mouth shut like what your friend tried to do for you?" Summer sarcastically asked Weiss in a mirror of Weiss' own words
"I don't know what's your problem with me, but can you just stop?" Weiss asked, already getting annoyed at Summer's hostility against her
"I don't know what your problem is, but can you even comprehend and understand my previous words? Because I only see ignorance from your response." Summer asked
"Why yo-"
"Weiss Schnee, Summer Rose, both of you cease your hostilities with one another." Ozpin said with authority in his tone "Both of your hostilities will do nothing good and everything bad, or in other words, nothing good will come out of it, merely bad and horrible outcomes, so it is wise for both of you two to cease it."
"She started it!" Weiss said
'Oh look who doesn't have the filter now." Summer thought to herself as she sees the irony at Weiss' words, only a few moments ago, it was Weiss that was insulting Ruby for the exact same words that Weiss has now just said
But unlike Weiss, she actually does have a filter on her words, so she kept those thoughts to herself
"Who started it matters not right now, what matters is simply who let the flame continue on, and that is the both of you." Ozpin said to Weiss, shutting her up
After a few moments of silence, Ozpin announced "Glynda, you may continue on with the video, I hope we will not continue this conversation."
The screen cuts to see Yang tackles her sister in a bear hug aboard the large airship to Beacon, crushing the air out of her
"Oh, I can't believe my baby sister is going to Beacon with me! This is the best day ever!" Yang exclaims
"Please stop." Ruby strains
"But I'm so proud of you!" Yang said while releasing Ruby
"Really Sis, it was nothing." Ruby said embarrassed
Qrow's right eyebrow suddenly shoots up, nothing? This kid calls being pushed up for two years just so she can join an extremely prestigious academy of Huntsmen "nothing"? He swears that if he doesn't know Ruby's character from what he had seen, he'll say that that is meant as an insult, not for humility
"What do you mean? It was incredible! Everyone at Beacon is going to think you're the bee's knees." Yang said to Ruby
"I don't want to be the 'bee's knees', okay? I don't want to be any kind of knees! I just want to be a normal girl with normal knees." Ruby reasons
"What's with you? Aren't you excited?" Yang ask
'Frankly, I can understand why Ruby isn't at all.' Summer thought to herself 'The amount of attention she'll get from being pushed up two years suddenly would be tremendous.'
"Of course I'm excited... I just..." Ruby started sighing before she explained "I got moved ahead two years. I don't want people to think I'm special or anything."
"But you are special." Yang said
The girls' attention is drawn to the 2-D animated newscast on Vale News Network playing nearby, talking about the robbery and showing Roman's mugshot
"The robbery was led by nefarious criminal Roman Torchwick, who continues to evade authorities. If you have any information on his whereabouts, please contact the Vale Police Department. Back to you, Lisa." The reporter said
'Roman Torchwick, huh?' Summer thought to herself as she looked at the screen 'I'll be sure to remember that.'
The screen then cuts to see Lisa, with a photo of animal-eared demonstrators holding signs saying "WE ARE NOT ANIMALS!" followed by an image of the logo of a growling red wolf's head with three scratch marks
Blake grimaced at the reminder of what the current state of the Faunus is once again… And what the White Fang is doing to "help" it
Raven's right eyebrow shoots up, oh what is this now?
"Thank you, Cyril. In other news, this Saturday's Faunus Civil Rights protest turned dark when members of the White Fang disrupted the ceremony. The once peaceful organization has now disrupted-" Lisa said before the news being cut off
''Once peaceful' huh? Wonder what happened to that organization, it looked promising before.' Raven thought to herself
A hologram of Glynda appears
"Hello, and welcome to Beacon!" Glynda said
"Who's that?" Yang asked
'Hm… An airhead.' Raven thought to herself
"My name is Glynda Goodwitch." Glynda said
"Oh." Yang said
'Definitely an airhead.' Raven thought to herself 'Probably got that from Tai.'
"You are among a privileged few who have received the honour of being selected to attend this prestigious academy! Our world is experiencing an incredible time of peace, and as future Huntsmen and Huntresses, it is your duty to uphold it. You have demonstrated the courage needed for such a task, and now it is our turn to provide you with the knowledge and the training to protect our world." Glynda finishes
"Yeah, no pressure at all." Qrow commented sarcastically
"The students should be used to the pressure because when they become Huntsmen, they will be forced to make decisions under pressure." Glynda explained with a hint of irritation in her voice
"Oh, wow! Look, you can see Signal from up here!" Ruby exclaims while looking through the glass "I guess home isn't too far after all!"
"Beacon is our home now." Yang said
'Slightly cliché and cringey line there, but those words are true regardless.' Summer thought to herself
Summer wasn't the only one with that opinion though as Yang herself grimaced at now seeing just how awful that line that she said is… It didn't sound that bad when she first said it though…
The two hear a passenger, a blonde boy, groaning and hunched over nearby, running to the back of the ship
Summer blinked… How the heck did someone puked at an airship!? Airships are designed to be stable for smooth riding!
But… She guessed not everyone would be used to- wait… That airship would contain the next batch of students for Beacon… Right? Why…. How…
Actually, you know what? She doesn't even care anymore
"Well... I guess the view isn't for everyone." Yang said while rolling her eyes
"It was a nice moment while it lasted." Ruby agreed
The screen then cuts to see the airship approaching Beacon across a large body of water
"I wonder who we're gonna meet! I just hope they're better than Vomit Boy. Oh, Yang, gross! You have puke on your shoe!" Ruby said
"Gross, gross, gross, gross, gross, gross, gross, gross!" Yang said fastly
"Get-Get away! Get away from me! Get away from me! Get away from me! Get away from me!" Ruby exclaims
The screen then turns to black
After a few seconds of silence, Ozpin spoke up "Seeing as this is the end of the 1st chapter, we are now free to wander around here for now. Are there any suggestions at what time will we continue this viewing?"
"Maybe… In about an hour after we leave? Actually, do we even have an instrument to measure time?" Summer asked
"Hm… Good point." Ozpin said "Then we'll continue this viewing once everyone agreed, so if you are about to go somewhere, then it's good to either bring someone else with you, or tell someone where you are going or both at the same time so for the off-chance that our captor might take you away for whatever reason, we will know where to look."
Everyone then nodded at Ozpin's words, not seeing anything to disagree with as it is a good plan
"Then let us go."
A/N: Phew, finally finished it… 6.7k words, 2nd longest chapter I have ever written so far (although, the longest chapter is longer than the 2nd by… Almost twice as long… Yep, it's 13k words… 13.8k specifically), it might be dethroned soon though
