Chapter 18: The Day I Said Yes PART II
"Ka—Kaname-kun?" Mikan stammered, flushing.
"Well?" Kaname looked hopefully at Mikan.
"Thi—this is so unexpected." She laughed awkwardly.
"Well, isn't it suppose to be a surprise when you ask a girl to be your date?" Kaname tilted his head on the side which made Mikan blushed more, if that was even possible.
"But-" Mikan was about to say something but Kaname interrupted her.
"Besides, it's better if everyone will know what you'll answer. At least they would know who are the off-limits ones and they won't have any excuse," he paused then looked intensely at Natsume, who returned the same look, "right, Mikan-chan?" He broke the "glaring game" and looked at Mikan, smiling brightly as if nothing happened.
"Kaname-kun..."
I never knew Kaname-kun could be mean and the look of his face was very... cute. Mikan chuckled which made everyone in the class look at her.
"What are you laughing at, Polka?" Natsume stated emotionlessly as possible; however, deep inside him, he was trying to convey a message to Mikan.
Baka. What are you laughing about? Shoo him away, shoo him away. Be my- Natsume's train of thoughts was cut off when he heard Mikan's answer.
"Yes." Mikan replied as she smiled sweetly at Kaname.
"Mikan!" Kaname, on the other hand, exclaimed brightly as he made his way to Mikan then hugged her.
"Ehem." Someone cleared his throat which caught everybody's attention.
"Ji—Jinno-sensei!" Mikan exclaimed before she could stop herself.
"Ah, Jinno-sensei. Sorry for disrupting class." Kaname replied coolly, in Mikan's amazement, then bowed at him.
"Go, Kaname. Your class is probably starting already." Jinno dismissed Kaname easily.

Before Kaname was out of earshot, he heard Jinno reprimand Mikan by asking her to answer an equation on the board.
He knew Mikan really hates Math but he couldn't help himself chuckle as he imagined how cute Mikan's face was.
