Reminiscence 17 – Abducted
"Are you okay, Kurapika?" Kuroro asked for the third time to the 'silent-since-yesterday' girl beside him.
They are currently riding a crowded train, standing silently by each other's side. Since their concern with the spiders had been finished, they have to start their plan of hunting Gale Altair and this is the most appropriate time and place to start since this day is the first of September, the day when the mafias are gathering in one place to attend the yearly underground auction.
Kuroro had been reminding the girl of his plan about the hunt since yesterday when she returned from whatever business she had with the samurai, but the girl would only hum for every Kuroro's explanation. She's not even taking him attentively and Kuroro is becoming worried about the girl's lack of reaction.
"Hm," Kurapika hummed to answer Kuroro's question.
"Just tell me if you're having a problem," he continued. "Be prepared, we're almost there."
Truth to his words, an announcement of the train's arrival for their destination was heard.
"Let's go," Kuroro said as he walked toward the exit.
Kurapika followed Kuroro as she tried to avoid bumping from the other passenger. She was having a hard time following him since she is not used to a crowded place like this. When she was near the entrance, she felt a sudden presence appeared inside the train, a familiar presence, moreover.
Trying to see if her suspicion was correct, Kurapika turned to that direction, but to her dismay, she didn't see what she expected. The presence was also gone at the same time. Belatedly, Kurapika remembered that she was still inside the train as she turned back to catch up the door before it closed, but failed.
Kuroro on the other hand failed to notice that the girl was not following him anymore. When he turned to check on the said girl, he then realized that the girl did not able to get out of the train. When the train started to move, he immediately ran to the door where he can view Kurapika at the window and saw her eyes turned scarlet.
[I'll be back] was all Kuroro heard in his mind as he stopped at the dead end of the terminal.
"Tch," Kuroro exclaimed, unable to do anything and on his turn, he suddenly felt a presence at a distance. He turned to that direction and saw a woman clad in black knee-length dress, probably just a little younger than him, with brown wavy hair and a pair of green eye. A very familiar description.
"Nice meeting you, Kuroro Lucifer," the young woman greeted with an eerie smile on her face.
"And you are?" Kuroro asked, raising his eyebrow.
"I know something that you want," she said instead of answering Kuroro's question.
"Which is?"
"The scarlet eyes," the girl smirked as she turned toward the station's exit and started to run outside.
Kuroro looked back at the railway as he hesitated for a while before he followed the girl. 'Sorry Kurapika, but I might not be able to get this chance again. I'll return immediately after this.'
On the other hand, Kurapika rode back to the train and exited the same station where she thought Kuroro was waiting. When she arrived at the place, she immediately scanned the place to look for Kuroro, but she was unable to find him; she can't even feel the man's presence anywhere.
With a frown on her face, Kurapika decided to go out of the station, thinking that the man might have gotten bored of waiting for her and decided to walk outside for a while. 'Kuroro is not that kind of person!' she mentally reprimanded herself. Kuroro is a patient person. He will never leave because of boredom, unless something unexpected had happened.
Kurapika walked throughout the city as she tried to track Kuroro without using her nen, or else, she herself might be tracked by the enemies. She was searching around the city for almost an hour as anxiety started building up. She tried calling his phone, but it seems that it was shot off. 'Should I go to the building?' She asked herself, 'but I have the feeling he's not there,' she decided not to go.
Preoccupied on her search as she forgotten to secure her own safety, Kurapika failed to notice that she was being followed by a red haired young man. A small cylindrical object with a sort of liquid inside and a needle attached to it was in his hand, readying it to throw toward her direction.
With the sudden sting at the back of her neck, Kurapika widened her eyes in shock. In no time, her body begun to feel numb, darkness consumed her sight and nearly fall to the ground if the red haired young man has not caught her on his arms.

He is experiencing it again, the wild chase he had in the past with a boy from which he had stolen the teleportation ability. This time, it was with a woman who is using the same ability. The only difference is that her ability has a longer range. Teleporting here and there, Kuroro is getting tired of it.
"What are you trying to do with this chase?" he asked monotonously, "where is Gale Altair?" If he just knew that Kurapika has a tracking ability, he doesn't have to go this never ending chase. He just needs something that belongs to that person which he actually already has.
The girl smiled to Kuroro's question, but did not answer it. She kept on teleporting until they got out of the city and entered a nearby forest (which is not actually near) and then, a ring from her pocket was heard. She took her phone out and placed it on over her ear, still keeping her distance away from Kuroro. After a few minutes of listening to the speaker on the phone, she ended the call and put the phone back into her pocket, stopping on her track and turned to face Kuroro.
Upon realizing the woman's action, Kuroro also made a halt.
"Ne, Lucifer," the woman started, "I have a very amusing information to tell you," she smiled while Kuroro is looking at her, indifferently. "The last living, pure blooded Kuruta will be auctioned tomorrow," she said before disappearing like a bubble.
Eyes widening upon hearing the last sentence, Kuroro immediately turned, looking back to the city's direction, 'Kurapika,' he called mentally as he made a tight fist.

From the top of a table in which lay a thick medical book on the middle, another pile of books on the side, a lampshade and etc., a cell phone rung noisily and stubbornly, waking the sleeping Leorio on the bed, not far away from the table.
Yawning deeply as he tried to remove his sleepiness by rubbing his eyes, Leorio stood up and walked toward the table to answer the phone, asking himself of why his phone was on the table, and remembered that he had actually forgotten it yesterday.
"Leorio speaking," he answered as he tucked the phone over his ear, not bothering to see the caller's ID and waited for the caller to speak.
"Ah! Sensitsu!" his sleepiness suddenly went away as he waited again for Senritsu's voice. Leorio suddenly tensed up and made a serious face.
"Seriously?... Alright, I'll inform Gon and Killua about it... Thank you Senritsu," he said as he ended the call.
Looking at the phone with a deep frown on his face, Leorio cannot help but to think about the message that he received from Senritsu. "Kurapika," he murmured, clutching his phone tight in anger and worry.

A voice of a man awakened Kurapika from her deep slumber. At first she can only hear soft whispers, but as her body adjusted from the sleepiness, the sounds became louder and louder until they become clearly audible.
"I can't believe she is the last Kuruta alive," the red haired young man said as he looked at the subject of their conversation, not knowing that she has already awaken.
"The last pure blooded," the older man corrected.
"So Kuroro is really a half-blooded?"
"Yes, that 'damn brat' son of mine is a half-blooded Kuruta. But he is rejecting it. He should be proud instead," the older man said in disappointment.
Hearing those words, Kurapika tried to open her eyes, but failed. She cannot open her eyes, and more than that, she cannot move her whole body. Paralysis, perhaps, then she remembered the last thing that happened before she lost her consciousness.
The older man's voice is very familiar to Kurapika which made her want not to believe the words she heard. Although she knew that the woman she met the day before was not lying, she didn't expect that Kuroro's father is actually Gale Altair himself.
"Why are you helping the mafia on catching her, anyway?" Gale's apprentice asked in curiosity.
The man chuckled at the question, but he answered nonetheless. "I am not helping the mafia, I am helping Kuroro to realize the importance of acceptance," he said. 'More importantly,' he thought to himself as he looked at Kurapika, 'this girl.' He turned again and walked toward the large, open window. The wind blew from the outside, passing onto him, making his long, dark hair dance lightly with the cool breeze of near winter. He looked at the scenery outside and remembered the day he met an extraordinary girl.

AN:
First of all I would like to thank all the readers especially those who reviewed, those who followed and those who put my story in their favorite. Although very few, you gave me encouragement to continue this story.
I know most of my chapters, including this one, are short, but I am a little busy to rewrite everything. Sorry about that.
I'll try to make the chapter of my other story longer (but I also need more reviews for that ᵔ.ᵔ). I already posted chapter 1. You might want to visit it (and leave a review ᵔ.ᵔ).
Again, thank you for everything. And of course, please review.
Have a nice day!
