Last on TFDE; Hanna stops herself from kissing Caleb and acts strange with Emily

Emily's Pov

I knock on the door once. No answer. I feel so anxious right now and I don't even know why I'm here anymore. I knock more, as I roll my eyes, impatiently. The door opens I almost punched Spencer in the face. "Whoa! Emily!" She exclaims.

"Sorry," I say as I walk in and sit on her couch.

"Emily," She sighs then walks over to sit next to me. I don't know why but I start to feel sad already. I bury my face in my hands and then I feel Spencer's hand on my shoulder, "Hey, are you okay?"

I sniffle as I put my head up. I sit up straight and give Spencer a contemplative look, "Spence, I know you and Hanna are close, but so are we. We are all best friends and I have to know something," I pause a little. I have to ask her.. I have to.

"What do you need to know, Em?" She says, getting my attention.

I sigh and feel my heart beat faster, then I ask, "Is Hanna cheating on me?" All of the sudden I feel the world freeze. Spencer looks at me and squints her eyes as her eyebrows furrow.

"Seriously Em?" She gives a little laugh. I sigh and lean back, then she says, "Why would you even think that? She loves you"

"It's just because.." I stop in the middle of my sentence, "Never mind, it's stupid"

"Say it," She playfully punches my shoulder.

"Okay fine," I said, "Ever since Caleb came back, she been acting strange and.. And seems to freak out when we are about.. you know.." I say, feeling awkward.

"So your sex life isn't great? Well that's weird because Hanna would probably do it anywhere like my Nana's couch with Ca.." She stops in the middle of her sentence and then realizes it is me who she's talking too. Me aka, Hanna's girlfriend now.

I frown at her. Is she really going to say that? "I don't need to know about her past relationship with Caleb," I roll my eyes and lean back to get comfortable on Spencer's couch. "What if.. What if she still loves him? Like that one night of our date, he shows up out of nowhere and ever since then, Hanna acted.. differently" I say, looking down to my hands. Even just saying these words, upset me.

"Well, you can't change the fact Hanna did love Caleb," She starts, "But she's with you now. I remember she was freaking out because she thought some kiss with you meant something. And it did, right?" She reminds me of the time when Hanna and I were just dating. When she was experimenting.

"Yea it did meant something to her and I. Doesn't change the fact that her ex boyfriend is in the picture again, Spencer" I say with a tone of my voice as if what I stated was obvious, which it was.

I look away from her and my head drops again, "I feel like I'm losing her more and more.." Saying those exact words made my heart drop. I sniffle and blink my tears away, then look back up. "I need your help, Spencer" I quietly say, but loud enough for her to hear.

She looks at me and rests her hand on my shoulder, "I'm here for you," She said. We then hear the bushes rattle outside, we quickly look up through the window displayed on her door and see no one. She gets up and make sure's the door is looked. She takes a long look out the window and turns back to me, "Probably the wind or something," She sits back down.

"So what do I do?" I ask, "I just want to end up making sure she still loves me"

"Okay so how about this. From the start I gave Hanna this idea, which was the five date thing, to get to you, so I could think of something for you to get her" She says. Now to think of it, if it wasn't for Spencer, Hanna and I wouldn't have been together in the beginning to start with.

She looks up and thinks for a while and then a look on her face smiled. It was as if a light bulb lit up on top of her head. "Maybe you should push Hanna away and see if she chases after you?"

"Why would I want to do that? She's my girlfriend"

"Yea, but it could be like a test," She says then pauses as she sees the confused look across my face. "If she chases after you then she loves you. If she doesn't seem to notice or care, then maybe.."

My eyes widen with fear of her words, "Maybe what?" I ask.

"Maybe she might, probably not love ..you." She says the last part quietly.

I run my fingers through the top of my head of hair and my eyes wander around. "Well, I guess I'll never know, unless if I try" I sigh. I look back at her, "How will this work, exactly?"

"Okay, so step one.."

And that's a wrap. Looks like Emily joined forces with Spencer, can't wait till you guys see how it plays out! TBC. So sorry for late update, I was just thinking more for this story so it last longer. Thanks for 200 reviews! It really means so much to me. It just makes me want to write more fics and chaps because you guys inspired me.

Pretty littlefiction 321 : I didn't figure out the Sydney character from the books (I don't been know if she's even in the books) I found out about her before she appeared on the show, on tumblr. I heard something's about "Emily's new love interest names Sydney" I did further research and just decided to use her for this story :). Hope this helps.

To the ones that see it clear that haleb might be endgame; there are a lot coming in this story, just saying. Though haleb will have moments ;)

I ship these two a lot; So because things with Hanna feelings are like this now, don't expect haleb to be endgame. Also just because I love hannily a lot (and wrote a bunch of fics for) don't expect them to be endgame either.
