Battle For Glory
Chapter 18: Aamon
Once the group had sufficiently rested for a few hours and ate their meal before the battle, they began to set off to the volcanic mountain that was only a few hundred meters away. Everyone settled mentally into the thought process of how to deal with him for good. After all Aamon had done, nothing could prevent the coming battle and bloodshed. Swords were drawn, whips were let loose as everyone climbed the trail leading into the open cavern.
Aamon watched as they slowly spilled into his view. He moved a white arm and knew that the evolution had occurred… and if he was right, he would crush them all. "Betrayers!" He roared at the Rashaveraks, Barbatos and at Pruslas. "I will not tolerate this!"
One of the Rashaveraks shook his head. "You betrayed our Lord Psaro! You sought to use the bigotry between humans and monsterkind to have him murdered! You sought to kill Lady Rose so that you might wait out the death of our ruler so you could take over the throne. Now you threaten monsterkind directly! You are dead!"
Pruslas drew his giant oaken club. "I will not allow you to harm him. Come my brothers, let's show him just how much we do not tolerate the acts he has committed!"
The white monster stood tall, about thirty feet off the ground, and seemed to be at the height of his evolution. He sported two horns, one on either side of his head while he had two yellow eyes in their normal spots with a third eye between them. His mouth was open in a snarl to show white, sharp teeth. He sported another face in his abdomen while his hands had sharp claws matching the claws on his feet. He reached back and struck down one of the Rashaveraks.
Airlia gaped in horror at the monster going down as she pulled deeply into her for healing magic. "Kazing!" The white light enveloped the monster, reviving him and healing his wounds.
Alistair growled darkly as he ran fast, and kept low, ducking under the monster and slicing at the back of his knees. "How dare you!"
Aamon snarled as he felt the slice to his knees. "Damn you brat! I guess I'll start with the one who changed everything! I knew I should have just killed her instead of sending her to another world without magic!" He lifted a hand as a bright golden orb surrounded Airlia, lifting her into the air as she screamed, terrified.
Psaro snarled as he raised the sphere of silence as the white lights went towards Aamon, effectively silencing him. The orb around her vanished as she fell from the air towards the ground. Ragnar quickly caught her, "Are you alright there Airlia?"
She nodded weakly before turning to Psaro, "Thank you…"
He smiled grimly, "I can make that right too… he sent you away… he probably knew you could change things… I'm glad that you changed things. That you were able to save her. The least I could do is to help keep you here this time."
Alistair jumped up and sliced at the arm of the white monster, angry that he tried to do something to Airlia. "I will kill you Aamon! You will not threaten anyone else ever again!"
Alena looked up at Pruslas, "Can you fling me at him? I might be able to knock him on his back with my power and the speed from your pitch."
The scaly monster nodded and picked her up carefully. "Alistair move!" He howled as he threw the woman at Aamon.
The green haired swordsman rolled out from under him as Aamon got bowled over by the flying Tsarevna. He jumped up and landed on the pelvis of the monster as he jumped again and came down on Aamon, impaling one of the eyes on his midsection while Psaro leaped and did similarly with the other eye.
Aamon screamed painfully as he tried to stand up, but with the two men on him, he couldn't. His form was too tall, too heavy to have a good center of gravity. "Wretched monsters!"
Psaro aimed his sword at the monster's neck. "No, the only monster here, is you. You sent her away, you tried to kill Rose. Nothing will ever save you." He slit the monster's neck, killing him slowly as his blood poured out of the wounds.
The two men waited until they were sure he was dead before severing the head as insurance. Insurance that he could not come back to attack them ever again. Psaro sighed. "It's over at last. He cannot hurt another soul. Let's push him into the volcano and get the hell out of here."
Pruslas nodded as he waited for them to get off the monster before he first shoved the head into the lava below. Once it was gone, he and Barbatos worked together to push the body into the molten magma. They sighed in relief. "It's over… Now we can all begin to live again. We can all work together to make a better world for all of us."
The group slowly walked out of the volcano as Alistair clasped Airlia to him tightly, intent on not letting her go ever again. She was the one he loved, and he would be damned if he let anyone ever hurt her again. Once they were out of the volcano, it wasn't long before the Dragon God approached them. He nodded to everyone before him. "Well done Alistair, Psaro, Airlia… Well done everyone! I congratulate you in dealing with the monster Aamon whom has plagued this world. Now you have your clean slate… the world is no longer in danger any more than it normally is. For there will always be conflict, but it is not one singular raw power that could literally destroy everything. Psaro… Rose has some wonderful news that she cannot wait to tell you of. I will give you all a ride to Zenithia Castle if you can board the wagon."
Pruslas smiled at Psaro, "We have much to take care of here in Nadiria, and in the world above. We will find you once the monsters all know what has happened. Any who still side with Aamon will be dealt with harshly. Rest assured none of your homes will ever be bothered again so long as they don't actively come hunting us."
Alena nodded. "I promise, none in my kingdom and all of its reaches will actively hunt you."
Ragnar nodded, "I can take care of bonnie Burland, Strathbaile, and possibly Femiscyra."
Maya giggled, "I can take care of the ones on my homeland with a simple talk to the king of Palais de Leon."
Torneko considered, "I can speak with the king of Endor and see if he can help out, with the merging land between that and Ballymoral. They handle Lakanaba. He might also have pull with other kingdoms that tie into the other villages of the land. I'm sure we can figure that out too. Because I helped to set up the marriage between their children, I have his ear a little more when it comes to things."
Psaro nodded with a smile on his face. "Thank you all. I appreciate all of your help. Let's go to Zenithia." They slowly boarded into the wagon as Airlia sat with Alistair and Psaro on the front of the wagon as he lifted up the horse and cart into the sky, flying off to go to Zenithia.
The group watched from the front of the wagon as a portal opened and the great tanned dragon flew through it to come out to the city in the sky. He landed the wagon just on the edge of the city as everyone deboarded. The Dragon God seemed to smile, "I await you all in the inner chamber. Knowing your lady Lord Psaro, I'd say she's very close. See her before you all come to see me." He flew up and went to the antechamber where he would await them.
Psaro wasn't sure what the dragon had meant but the group rushed into Zenithia as Rose came out of one of the side chambers. "Psaro! You're alright! Thank heavens!" She rushed to her silver haired lover as they could see what happened to Rose.
Dark eyes opened wide as he opened his arms to her, to catch her running into him. "Rose! You're…" He couldn't believe it… her belly was swelling already.
She nodded and looked up at him. "Yes, I'm pregnant. One of the elves has been helping to monitor my condition because as elves, our pregnancy is faster than humans. They had a special spell to tell me what the gender was… it's a girl."
Psaro smiled gently at her as he kissed her softly. "I'm so glad my darling." He picked her up bridal style and carried her into the castle as everyone followed.
Rose looked over his shoulder to see Airlia and smiled. "And it's all over? All gone?"
Airlia nodded as she released her hair from the bindings, letting it run loose along her back in cascading waves. "Yeah, it's over. No more Aamon to threaten any of us again."
Alistair chuckled as he picked up Airlia much like Psaro picked up Rose and pulled her close. "It's all over. You're home. If you still want…"
She looked into his beautiful blue eyes and nodded. "Yes, home is with you Alistair. I have no where else I'd rather call home." The brunette wrapped her arms around him and closed her silver eyes in delight.
They slowly went into the antechamber and found the Dragon God sitting there, looking quite pleased with the turn of events. His voice boomed normally, but with his excitement, it was especially loud. "Greetings my friends. I extend my congratulations once more for the death of the monstrous Aamon with all of his crimes. Alistair, Airlia, you both are of Zenithian blood… you may stay here if you wish and live amongst your kind once again."
The pair shared a look before Alistair spoke for them both. "We wish to live on the Earth once more. That is our home. With my friends and family who raised me."
Airlia nodded, "My home is with him. Where he goes is where I go. These people are my friends. Thank you kindly for the offer though Dragon God."
He bowed respectfully. "I wish you all long and happy lives. Your names will be sung in history as the ones who saved our world and prevented terrible tragedies from happening. Thank you all… I had your hot air balloon brought up and will see to your wagon being dropped off just at the edge of Endor. One of my warriors will wait with it until you go there. Take care and remember to care for one another, to be there and never forget what brought you all together."
Everyone bowed as the group slowly left the gleaming white marble castle. When they went outside, they saw the balloon and the lack of the horse and cart as Airlia and Alistair shared a deep, passionate kiss that was echoed by not only Psaro and Rose, but Alena and Kyril. Rose smiled as she looked up at her lover. "At last we are safe… at last we are free my darling. I don't have to hide anymore…"
He nodded, "And we can live in the village with Alistair and his friends and family my sweet. I know you've grown quite attached to Airlia, understandably so as one of your first friends outside of me. Would you still like that my darling?"
Rose grinned widely, "I would, very much. She is a very good friend, and they all gave very much to try and help us. Thank you my love… thank you." She kissed him again as they slowly boarded the hot air balloon.
