Family Secrets
The Old World – 1014
"Is it done?" asked Terentius as Frederick emerged from inside the small hut.
"It is." Frederick replied looking at his long-time friend.
"Good." He replied turning his head to face to Frederick.
"You know, they're never forgiving you right?" reminded the black-haired male.
Terentius just stared into Frederick's eyes intensely, "Then its good thing this was never about them
now isn't it, Fred?" he replied.
"I suppose." Frederick responded softly.
"Just tell me one thing, Fred…" said Terentius keeping his attention on his friend.
"What's that?" he asked looking back at Terentius.
"He didn't feel any pain right?" he asked sincerely.
Fred smiled softly placing his hand on his friend's shoulder, "No he didn't. It was painless." revealed the warlock.
Terentius took a deep breath controlling his emotions looking away, "Good. Thank you Frederick, it means a lot that you did this for us both." replied the other male looking back at Frederick.
Frederick smiled warmly gently pressing his forehead against Terentius's and stroking the back of his head, "I would do anything for you, Terentius." he replied honestly closing his eyes, as did Terentius. Frederick slowly opens his eyes again, "Plus what you just did for him goes beyond the love of an uncle for his nephew. You did a good thing at least this way; he'll be able to live a full life one day." Frederick assured his best friend.
Terentius nodded and took a deep breath opening his eyes, "Thank you, Freddie. This has stay between us though okay? They can never know about this…until the time is right. You understand that right?" Terentius asked his fellow warlock.
"Of course not, it'll be our little secret until you say otherwise. We better go; Esther or Mikael can't know we were here." Frederick paused looking around, "This way…it's a shortcut back to my hut away from prying eyes…" urged Frederick leading himself and Terentius away from their current location to avoid suspicion.
New Orleans, 2014 - Present Day
"Okay Kol, where is this Uncle of yours? Plus isn't he like dead?" Jame asked his new partner.
"Well, he was.." Kol replied with a snicker.
"What do you mean 'he was'?" he asked him.
Kol smirks to himself, "He came back. Like my mother, he is a witch too." he added.
"Wait a minute..what?!" Jame said surprised stopping the middle of the Quarter looking over at Kol.
"Surprise!" he replied with a grin.
"Holy shit! How did he come back? Did Esther resurrect him?" he asked wanting to know more like right now.
"I'm not sure. That's what I want to know. But when he contacted me; while I was still on the Other Side, I was just as surprised as you." he explained to Jame: "I thought he was dead, it was probably another reason why I couldn't track him down, when the Other Side began to break down. No-one was stuck in solidarity any more, so I went looking for him hoping he could help us both." he revealed to him.
"But my mother found me first and offered me a second chance at life, she had a plan for my brother Finn and I. But as much as I wanted too, I couldn't trust her but I would do anything to live again that's when my Uncle contacted me out of the blue and led me to you." Kol further revealed truthfully with a smile.
"What?! He knew about me? What the hell? Now I really want to meet this guy!" Jame said a little firmly.
Kol snickered to himself, as they began walking again: "He did. I have just as many questions as you, Jame. I'm hoping he can help me with something. Now come on...its this way." responded the 1000 year old vampire.
Jame caught up with Kol at his side and raised his eyebrow, "So what do you hope he can help you with?" asked the curious warlock.
Kol looked at him thinking about telling him or not, but couldn't see any harm in doing so; it was Jame after all.
"Before my mother made us vampires..." he paused looking away, "...I was a witch. I had access to magic like you." Kol revealed.
"I see. Well that explains a lot...and what does that have to do with you seeking you're Uncle's help?" he wondered.
Kol looked at him, "It maybe a long shot. But I want my magic back, a birthright that was stolen from me by my mother. I want it back Jame." Kol said strongly.
Jame stopped, "Seriously? It's not possible surely. Not without..." Jame paused afetr being interrupted by Kol.
"...body jumping?" Kol said.
"That's right! Are you seriously considering asking your Uncle to place your soul inside the body of another male witch?!" Jame responded harshly.
"I am..." Kol expressed truthfully, "So now you know..." he added walking away.
Jame was speechless right now he just couldn't find the words. What did this mean for them? Was this really a good idea? All these thoughts kept racing through Jame's intellectual mind not completely sure how he felt about all this and if he should be supportive of Kol or not; but it could open a lot of doors for him too. They could do magic together and become an actual real team and partners. It was a lot to take in so for now, all Jame could do is see how it all plays out. This could either be a good thing or a bad thing for all involved.
Elsewhere in the state of California outside a local high school in a small town a short distance from the golden coast a male figure dressed in a thin black leather jacket; a pair of dark blue jeans and a set of black boots was looking at the front of the high school in question upon exiting his car with his hands in his jacket pockets.
The male removed his black sunglasses as we get a good look at his handsome features from the side of his face revealing himself to none other than Terentius: "So this is where you ended up?" he said softly to himself before looking around at the various number of students exiting or leaving the school grounds due to classes being over till next year for winter break.
Terentius put his sunglasses inside his jacket pocket and began walking across the road and entering the school grounds, which soon saw him actually enter the building and begin walking down the hallway having placed both his hands in his jacket pockets once again.
"I can sense you…your close." he said thoughtfully to himself as Terentius continues to move through the school interior searching for his reason for coming all the way here from New Orleans.
The 1000 year old warlock turned down the hall feeling the tug of an invisible tether that was pulling him more and more as Terentius got closer and closer, which eventually lead him to the school workout area.
"You're in here. I can feel it!" Terentius said placing both hands on the silver handles of the double door pulling them open and walking inside, he quickly looked around and finds him honing on a young male with short black hair that was styled up slightly.
The younger male was bench-pressing some weights in a black tank-top and a pair of white gym shorts. Terentius couldn't believe his eyes when the other male finished his weight-lifting and sat up on the metal apparatus and began drying any excess sweat off his athletic body with his white towel before putting it down and standing up taking a large swig of his water bottle.
"Henrik…" he said quietly with a warm smile coming across his lips, "Unbelievable. Frederick did it." he added.
The male teenager soon noticed the older male staring at him with a smile on his face, he raised his eyebrow and began walking up to him: "Err…can I help you sir?" he wondered, "You seem lost…" he further added.
"You don't remember do you?" he said softly after acknowledging the reincarnated Henrik's question and comment stepping a little closer.
"Remember what? Who are you dude?" he said stepping back a little a little uncertain about the older male now but seemed to be ready to defend himself, if necessary.
Terentius tilted his head back and smirked a bit to himself, "Just as we planned." he said to himself. "What's your name kid? And how old are you?" he asked.
The teen raised his eyebrow, "its Rikki. Rikki McIntosh." he paused, "I'm 17 dude." he added.
Terentius smiled to himself, "Tell me Rikki, do you have an ancestor called: Zebadiah McIntosh?" he asked him.
Rikki was a little surprised: "Yeah…yeah…I do. How did you know that?" he said with a brief smile.
"Good." Terentius smiled. "And I know because we're related, Rikki. I'm Terrence McIntosh, please to meet you." he introduced himself having taken on a more modern version of his name since his return and offering his long-lost nephew his hand to shake.
"No way! For real?" Rikki said a little excitedly shaking his hand almost immediately.
"That's right." he said withdrawing his hand with a snicker.
"Awesome!" Rikki smiled warmly, "So how are we related then?" he wondered.
Terrence grins a bit, "Now that's where it gets a bit complicated. You see Rikki, you're not who you think you are?" he added.
Rikki looked confused, "What do you mean? What are you talking about?" he wondered.
"I'm afraid, you're going to have to come with now, Henrik." He said firmly.
But before Rikki/Henrik could respond the older Terrence placed his hand on top of the teenager's head and used his magic to render the teenager unconscious with a simple touch.
"I'm sorry kiddo. But it's time for you to come home now." Terrence said looking down at his nephew.
Terrence soon picked him up with both his arms and began carrying him out of the workout room after waiting for the last load of school kids to leave the building entirely and blew up on the fire exit doors gently with magic and exited the school all together heading towards his car once the coast was clear.
Meanwhile back in New Orleans, "This is it." Kol said after crossing the river to the other side of the city and standing in-front of a large manor house.
"Well then...let's pay your uncle a visit." said Jame with a snicker coming up behind the vampire and looking up at manor house before them.
The duo headed entered through the gate and walked down the pathway towards the porch area, where they walked up a couple of steps and knocked on the door. Both men waited patiently for someone to open the door, but instead the door opened all the way by itself.
Jame and Kol looked at each other and decided to head inside to see what was going on here, as Jame walked in first with no problems but Kol on the other hand wasn't so lucky with the sound of barrier nice being heard. Kol couldn't enter.
"Bloody hell...I can't get in. I'm not invited Jame." Kol said to his new boyfriend.
Jame looked at Kol, "Seriously?" he replied as the vampire nodded. "Okay just wait there, I'll see if I can find this Uncle of yours and get him to invite you in.." Jame suggested and looked away after Kol agreed and was about to walk further inside when he found himself face to face with another male human with short black hair.
"Don't bother." said the mysterious older male with his muscular arms folded across his chest dressed in a pair of beige coloured combat trousers and a thin black woollen jumper.
Kol looked at the male, "Who are you? And where is my Uncle Terentius?" he wondered looking to barge in but was blocked again naturally causing a frustrated growl to leave Kol's lips.
"Hello Kol you haven't changed much in a 1000 years..." said the male figure stepping out of the shadows that was concealing the majority of his face.
Kol eyes winded, "It can't be...F-" Kol was quickly cut off there and then when the older male in question held his hand out and twisted it to the side closing his hand into a fist and snapping Kol's neck causing the immortal vampire to fall to the ground.
"KOL!" Jame said rushing for the door, as he slammed in his face causing the young warlock to look straight back at the older male. "You're going to pay for that!" he said angrily and threw his hand out almost immediately releasing his own magic and slamming the older male up against the wall without hesitation.
The older male groans in a bit pain looking up at Jame as he slides down the wall coughing: "Impressive. I wouldn't expect anything...LESS!" the male yelled throwing up his hand now and throwing Jame right up against the nearest wall closest to the door surprising him a bit as he was held there.
"Urgh...let me go! Urgghh..." he growls trying to break free getting angrier.
The older male kept his hand raised and slowly got back up to his feet smiling to himself taking a few steps forward: "If you can't break out of this then well...I may have stop being so gentle with you." he said to him. "Come on Jame...show me what you got...that's a good boy..." he encouraged the 22-year old.
Jame was confused: "What is this?! Who the hell are you!?" he demanded trying to break loose still.
"Break my hold, and maybe I'll tell you. Concentrate now, don't hold back..." advised the other witch.
Jame ignores his confusion for the moment and closes his eyes and begins gritting his teeth growling along the way and begins to weaken the male's hold over his arm his face turning red due to his struggle against the stronger force.
"Motus!" yelled Jame with a loud groan upon free his arm and the pushing out of his hand, which sent the older male hard into the staircase harshly.
Jame was then released instantly from the wall and hit the floor with a groan looking to catch his breath now due to his heavy breathing and began slowly raising his head with a vengeful expression on his face and began to get back up onto his feet. The other male began stirring very slowly, he was in quite a bit of pain right now groaning with Jame walking towards him with his breathing calming down now.
"I WON'T ASK AGAIN!" he said raising his hand up slowly sideways in a claw-like fashion beginning to choke the older male, who began to cough a bit placing his hands on the sides of his neck being forced back onto his feet.
"WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?!" voiced Jame angrily narrowing his eyes increasing the pressure and tightening his magical grip around the man's throat.
"I'm..I'm.." he said struggling to speak, as he coughs more feeling his face start to turn bright red: "..family!" he managed to shout out finally after much effort.
Jame eyes widen instantly releasing his potential relative from his grip watching him fall back to the floor and cough a few times while catching his breath. The warlock remained in-control though looking down at the male.
"I'm listening...old timer." he said mockingly, "Explain yourself...NOW!" he commanded.
The older witch smirked to himself: "My name is Frederick Blackwell, Jame..." he said having caught his breath now and stood up looking at him, "I'm you're great grandfather, which makes me you're ancestor and you my great, great, great etc grandson." he revealed to his descendent.
"What?!" Jame said in disbelief stepping back slightly. "It..it can't be...your-" he was interrupted.
"Dead?" Frederick replied with a snicker.
"Exactly!" he responded.
"Well not any more." he smiled at him.
"B-But how? Who brought you back?!" Jame asked wanting answers.
"It's a long story and I will tell you soon. But first, we have to talk. You're in danger, Jame." Frederick informed Jame placing his hands on his great grandson's shoulders.
"What?! What danger?" he said stepping away from his ancestor. "And why should I believe you! You could be just some crazy witch nut job for all, I know!" he said to Frederick, "Prove to me, we're related and then maybe I'll listen to what you have to say!" he said making sure this wasn't some trap or plot to kill him off-guard.
"It's true, Jame." said a voice from behind him, which was unfamiliar to him and quickly turned around to see who it was.
Terentius/Terrence walked into the house carrying Henrik/Rikki in his arms, who was still unconscious from earlier.
"And who are you?!" he asked getting annoyed now.
"I'm Terrence McIntosh aka Terentius; Kol's Uncle. It's nice to finally meet you." he said with a snicker.
Jame eyes widened in-complete surprise once again. Oh boy was the only words running through the young warlock's mind right now. This is getting too weird even for him. First his vampire boyfriend gets his neck snapped then he finds out Frederick is his ancestor after their little bout and now Kol's Uncle shows up? 'God Dammit!'Jame told himself.
