Chapter 11

Halloween Part 1

Gosh, it's been a month already since I updated NBND. Yikes, it hadn't seemed that long. Anyways chances are I'll end up updating this chapter first, so immediately after, I will update NBND. Also, this will be McKinley's part, and then the next chapter will be Stand Up to Cancer x Halloween Part 2.

I bet most of you will understand Corey's Tate reference to Tayson, but if you don't all I'm going to say is that it's about a main character in season one of American Horror Story, granted, at the moment, I'm only season two, so if any of my readers are beyond that, please no spoilers.

This has nothing to do with the story, but, I just Googled Jason Patric, and since I adored him in the eighties movie, the Lost Boys, I just have to say, I feel so bad for Jason, who won't able to see his son Gus, because of his ex-wife Danielle Schrieber, I didn't read the entire story, but I think it's stupid, especially since she was granted a restraining order against him for a year.

Any The Walking Dead fans? Other than Calisurfingboy2 (who has gone MIA. Sad face) and myself? If so, what did you think of the mid-season finale?

OK, I had better stop ranting, and get to typing.

McKinley Radio

[Tayson]

"Tayson, you doing the haunted house with us?" Corey asks, as we step inside the halls of McKinley, and as usual, Sue Sylvester is throwing a dramatic fit over anything.

"Dude, I'm helping out at the maze. The day time one," I tell him, as though the idea of this Halloween was lame, even though, I thought it was cool. Hell, half the school did. Except for maybe Sue, and her Cheerios.

"You should do the night time one, if you think about it, subtracting the kinky bondage outfit, you'd be a perfect Tate for the maze," he tells me, as we end up at my locker, and I had no clue what he was talking about, and I take my copy of the Fellowship of the Ring, and hold it in my hand, before I shut it again.

"Isn't Vi doing the haunted house?" I ask even though I already knew the answer, and we head in the direction of our literature class.

"Yeah, but she'll be in costume, so you don't know who she is, and besides, it's a house of the insane," he tells me, as he gives me a flier, and I was sure I had already missed rehearsals, but I knew him. After all, he was my twin's best friend, and I knew he would beg until I said yes.

"Fine, I'll think about it," I tell him, as we walk into the classroom, and take a seat beside each other in the back of the room. Then the popular girls of McKinley came in. No doubt in my mind that they were scouts of Sylvester to make the student population to feel like shit on Halloween. Then suddenly, I had noticed that there was a new girl with them.

"Hello Former Dalton Loser," one of the girls tells us, as he looks right at Corey.

"Good to see you as well Kenna," I answer sarcastically back, and have a smirk, that my sister would have said that looked like Corey Feldman when he was Mouth in the Goonies.

"If you think, I'm talking to you this semester, you're crazier than I thought, and besides, didn't we already go down that road last month in the locker room?" she makes our big secret known. Yep, the entire classroom heard about my first time. Now this was really going to screw me over.

"Well I was wondering when you would bring that up," I tell her, as I don't bother denying the truth. I don't bother scanning the room, I knew that by lunch time everyone would know. Maybe even Gwen, who I didn't know if we were friends or were actually dating.

"You don't have to wonder about now," she states back, as the bell rings, and Ms. Winslow walks in, already to get class moving.

"Are you ready for tonight?" Mike asks, as he sees me in the dance room. It had been empty, since, there was only one dance class every other day, and today after lunch would be the class.

"I'm not even ready, and besides, I'm not that good of a dancer," I tell my older brother honestly.

"Have you told mom and dad your back in town yet?" I ask, as I change the subject, and look him in his blue eyes, and then back down at the floor.

"I can't. It's not the way Joe Carol wrote the book, I'm supposed to be dead, so I'm a ghost, even being undercover here, and talking to you, could get you or anyone else killed," he tells me.

"Why did you come back?" I ask, as I already knew the lecture, that had been coming. I had heard them all before.

"Hardy suspects there might be a Follower here. Hell they can be anywhere, even someone I don't suspect," he tells me, as he suddenly walks over to the door, and shuts the door.

"I understand," I tell him, though I really didn't. I wasn't like he was. I had no idea has been going on, and I doubted we would ever talk about it. FBI people don't do that, especially when they are supposed to be dead.

"From here on out, we don't talk about this ever again, and I suspect, I won't be here all year anyways," Mike tells me with that quick I'm not happy about this smile.

"So you ready to find out who the lucky captain of ND is?" he asks me confirming that conversation was over.

"That isn't until today, besides, Corey has to be at that thing Halloween thing, it's a requirement," I tell him, as I pretend to punch a punching bag.

"I think you have a shot," he tells me with a Weston smile.

"Thanks. I guess," I tell him, and throw another air punch, and then stop the invisible bag with my hands.

"So, you ready to learn the Moonwalk for halftime?" he asks me, and then fake punches me on the shoulder.

"Aren't we doing that Stand Up to Cancer thing?" I ask sounding confused, being that my worse girl enemy would kick my ass if I didn't.

"We're doing both," he answers me. "It doesn't sound like a bad thing," he adds, as he heads towards the door, and then opens it back up.

"Good, because if I didn't, Violet Grohl, would totally haunt me, or something to that effect," I tell my older brother.

"Girlfriend?" he asks, as though it had been a joke, and he was enjoying this more and more each second.

"Nope, she's a lesbian," I tell him in a matter of fact tone of voice.

"Yeah, I think I know which one she is," he tells me, and then walks out of the dance studio, and heads in the direction of this classroom.

I then continue to dance the Moonwalk for a little bit more, and wonder if I should ask Gwen to the homecoming dance.

[Violet]

So how many murders so far? I think to myself, as I form a list on a piece of paper, as I listen to my cassette tape of Def Leppard on my Sony Walkman. I had to really think, because, well every haunted house with a popular TV show theme needs a list.

1. the twins

2. Maria and the nurse

3. the 2 girls and the mom in the fire

4. the 2 gay guys

5 the 3 burglars

6. the cheating husband and the housekeeper.

7 the 12 abortions

8. and that crazy pregnant girl

9. and the wife of the Dr. Frankenstein (I guess)

am i missing anything?

"Well, well, well, looks like a diary of a serial killer," I hear principal Sylvester snarl, as she snatches my journal.

"Umm well no, it's things for the haunted house," I reply to her, as I put my headphones down around my neck, as I know the rest of the students are now watching the show.

"Plans for that are already for that, so, guess who isn't attending any activities tonight?" she asks curiously as she holds up the journal.

"Really, banning me from activities tonight? That doesn't really bother me anyways," I tell her sarcastically. "So really, can I have my notebook back?" I ask, as I look up at the psycho Cheerio leader/ Principle.

"Oh, Girl, Interrupted don't think I'm going to just hand this back. I might hand it into the police, and see what they have to say," she tells me menacingly.

"Sure, why don't you?" I ask challenging her. "However, I am sure, that you wouldn't want this school on the news, for some reason that isn't true," I tell her stating the obvious, as I press the rewind button on my Walkman.

"Fine, but there is one thing you could do that won't get you suspended tonight for the Halloween whatever," she tells me, as pretends to scan the rest of my notebook pages. I knew there was something she wanted. It wouldn't be Sue Sylvester if there hadn't.

[Hero]

I was so not ready for tonight, and even though I wasn't a senior, I had signed up for helping set up the haunted house, in which was the newly built gym, that had come in over the summer. We enter at the end with the lowest light setting, and would have some seniors in the locker room, which would be locked, so no one could get in. That way, they could control the lights. Then we had the basketball court, which was perfect, because it was lowly lit, and we had it built like a maze, so it would be hard to tell where you were until you found your way out. Granted, it wasn't much to work with, but the only other option was the parking lot, and they seniors already had a day time maze set up.

"Hero Smith, checking in," I announce to the teacher who had been in charge of the students signing in.

"Alright, why don't you accompany Thurston, it appears as though he could use some help setting up the chopped up body parts, and the placing them in the bathroom scene," he instructs me, as he points to the Hispanic six foot one senior.

"Hi, I'm Hero," I tell him, as I walk up to him. "Mr. Whatshisface assigned me to working with you for the bathroom scene," I tell him, as an idea had already popped in my head.

"Have any idea if this is going to work?" he asks me, as though he had read my mind.

"I'm almost to positive, I mean, my best friend is Violet Grohl, who is taking a big toll to this event," I tell him proudly, as I tell him the plan to make the bathroom appear bloody, and that we could have a volunteer hang around the bathroom, and appear as though she was a ghost who had drowned in the bathtub.

"How would the blood work?" he asks sounding confused, but seeming to work on the idea.

"The paint, which will be in the bathtub could be used, as her finger prints from when she tried to escape," I tell him, as the idea had popped in my head.

"Want to try it out?" he asks, as he seems happy with the idea, and looks me in the eyes.

"Yeah, but you'd have to work on it, you're the senior after all," I point out to him, and then he tries out his role of being the ghost, and changing the phrases up a bit, and the way he says them makes me laugh.

"Alright, everyone twenty minutes!" we hear Mr. Andrews, the senior class adviser announce on his microphone in the gym. Then we finish painting the bathtub with out hands, making it appear as though a bloody hand had run down it.

"Well I'll see you around," I tell him, as I finish my part, and turn around to exit.

"So you going to Homecoming with anyone? The dance is next week," he wonders, and smiles, as we walk towards the area of the locker room, so he could get costumes on.

"Actually, I already have a boyfriend," I tell him honestly, though I know that's not what he wanted to hear.

"Is he from around here?" he asks, as a couple of the other athletes walk by, and enter the locker room for costuming.

"Yeah, he graduated last year. Matter of fact, I believe he's coming home this weekend," I tell him, though it was only half a lie. I didn't want to fall for someone else, since I already had the love triangle issue.

"Well we can at least be friends, I assume?" he asks more in a question, instead of a statement.

"Yeah, that we can do," I tell him and then walk away.

[Ruby]

"Alright gentlemen listen up! I am only here to help with costumes. Just remember that your in a haunted house, you're supposed to be dead, so I will not make this perfect!" I let it be known, as I see another boy walk in, and begin to undress.

"Hello Thurston," I walk over and greet him, as he tosses his shirt into a locker, and looks up and smiles, as he messes up his hair a little bit.

"Hey Rubes," he answers me, after he shuts the locker, and takes a seat on the bench.

"So what are you participating as?" I ask wonderingly, as I wonder how to do his makeup, and an excuse to look into his gorgeous brown eyes.

"I'm a teenager who drowned in the bathtub," he tells me, as though this would be a challenge for me.

"Well, I know the best way for that. We want to make it seem teenage Willis, not so much Haley Joel," I tell Thurston.

"What is that supposed to mean?" he asks, as though he sounded offended by that.

"It's a ghost reference but never mind," I tell him, as I begin to work on his makeup."Close your eyes," I instruct him. When in comes Gwen with someone who was dressed in the rubber man black suit. I had no idea, but well, I would go with it.

"Don't ask," Gwen tells me, as she pulls out some materials to help me with Thurston's makeup, so we could get him in place on time. All of the actors had to be in their places by six thirty, meaning we had a half an hour.

"So have you asked him yet?" I ask Gwen, as I apply gray-white rings around Thurston's eyes.

"Asked who?" Thurston asks curiously, and then I shush him, so he wouldn't be spreading gossip around.

"I have," she answers me with a smile on her face, and I knew what that had meant. Then again, when a girl smiles over a boy, everyone knows what that means.

"He said yes, didn't he?" I ask curiously, as we are just about done with Thurston, and then Mrs. Wilson comes in,and lets everyone know that the actors and actresses have to be in places in ten minutes.

"Yes, but West, also asked me," Gwen tells me, as she throws on some makeup, so she would be at the entrance so she could do her speech that Violet had written out for the volunteers since she wasn't able to attend.

"Oh girlfriend, you better not be taking that Bradley Weston back," Thurston tells us as he gets up. "I'll catch you two girls later," he adds, and then leaves the boys locker room, and heads to where he needs to be inside the haunted house.

"Everyone places!"we hear Alexa call, as a text tone went off on Gwen's phone. We both knew she couldn't answer it, but we knew how bad she had wanted to answer it.

"Is that your boyfriend?" Alexa Henderson asks, as she comes walking around the corner.

Neither one of us answered her. We all knew that she was according to Sylvester, Henderson was the newest, maybe worse than Fabray. Being the new popular bitch.

"You do know that he slept with Kenna, right?" she asks, and then gave the smile, as if to say "I rule here."

"Kenna makes stuff up for attention," I point out.

"Says the one with daddy issues," Alexa shoots back, as the lights go out. "Well, toodles, I have to get to the football field to give candy away," she tells us harshly and walks away.

"We'll talk later before we come a part of this maze," Gwen tells me before she gives a hug, and heads for the exit.

Ok, so that is where I end this. Almost six pages. Anyways, next chapter they merge, and Homecoming King / Queen are crowned. Also, a couple of alum from New Beginning, New Directions re-appear.
