Finn POV

Amanda and I were walking back to the shore, pushing branches out of our way.

"Are you sure we aren't lost?" Amanda asked.

"Sure I'm sure!" I laughed, though not believably. Then, I heard a shout in the distance.

"MAYBECK!"

"See, we're close," I said.

"What's wrong with Maybeck?" Amanda asked. I shrugged.

"I'm sure everything's fine, I bet you it's just a fight he got himself into. Again," I chuckled, running my fingers through my hair and looking up at the sky. Something crunched underneath my foot and I stopped in my tracks, looking down. I crouched and picked up what I stepped on.

"OH MY GOD EW!" I dropped it quickly, stumbling backwards. It was a bone, covered in dry blood. "EW EW EW!"

"Nasty," Amanda crouched down, examining the bone.

"Where's the rest of the body?" I ask, still frozen and staring at the bone as Amanda started wandering around, digging through bushes.

"Finn, look what I found," Amanda said, pulling out a sword from underneath a bush. It was bloodstained and rusted. "Must of belonged to the same person as that did," she said, motioning to the bone.

"Amanda, where is the rest of the body?" I asked again.

"Skeletons can be thrown around, Finn," she said matter-of-factly, using her sleeve to scrape off some of the rusts on the sword. "And maybe some animals got a hold of them or something."

"It's still gross," Finn mumbled to himself.

Philby POV

"100 little wires, scattered around," I sang under my breath, the tune almost too happy. "100 little broken wires. Find the red one," I said, digging out a red wire, "and a blue one" I grabbed the other. "If you wanna have-" I put the ends of the two wires together. The lights flickered on, and the sound of an engine whirring filled my ears. "Po~wer!" I finished the end of my quiet song, smiling. Thank you electronics class!

"PHILBY, WHAT'S THAT SOUND?!" Willa called, still outside the plane. I groaned.

"Not my singing voice."

"NOT THAT!"

"Oh, well I managed to get some power in here. Let's see if I can get a hold of the locking system."

"And then I'm coming in there."

"Willa..."

"Philby, stop, I am!"

I sighed in defeat and continued digging through the wires, avoiding sparks.

"DELL PHILBY-"

"I'm still here, Willa."

Maybeck POV

All my fault. All my fault.

Visions flashed before my eyes as I limped through the forest as fast as I could, gasping for breath, tears streaming down my face.

Throwing the crutch. Watching in slow motion as the door opened. Charlene and Jess being sucked out. The screaming, the alarms, the crash. Watching helplessly as Philby and Finn fished the two girls out of the ocean.

It's all my fault.

Willa's screeching at the crashed plane. Charlene's injuries. Charlene's outburst.

I grit my teeth and burst through the branches, into a clearing. I stumbled, tripped, and fell to my hands and knees. I looked down at my one crutch and chucked it as far as I could into the trees. "STUPID THING!" I screamed. "ALL YOU DO IS CAUSE PROBLEMS!"

I leaned back on my heels and looked down at my hands. "All you do is cause problems," I repeated, whispering. My tears fell onto my open palms. "Stupid thing."

I looked up at the blue, cloudless sky. In movies, it would be pouring rain, to match my sobs. But this isn't a movie, is it? The world goes on happily, even though we're here, with people like Charlene having to suffer.

"MAYBECK!" I heard a shout from in the forest. I twisted my body, looking around the clearing.

Jess must have told her about last night! Maybeck thought. Dammit!

"MAYBECK!"

I tried to stand up but fell back to my hands and knees again. I grunted in pain, trying not to make any sounds. I can't be seen, not like this. I started crawling, a stinging pain shooting up my broken leg every time I moved it. More tears poured down my face and dripped into the grass, whether it was from physical or emotional pain I couldn't even tell anymore.

"MAYBECK, PLEASE!"

I crawled faster, despite my leg begging me not to. I kept my eyes squeezed shut until my hand hit something. "GAH!" I quickly fell onto my butt, clenching my hand. "Shit," I hissed between clenched teeth, wiping the tears furiously away from my face before looking at what I hit. I drew in a sharp breath.

A skeleton. A dead skeleton.
