Hello everybody! This is NRG-OVA-9000, presenting you with another episode of The Amazing Gyroball. As you will about to see in this episode, it will be about the What-The-Sons meeting Tina Rex and her new "family business." That's pretty much about it. Plus, the GIGA Organization will attack them and Gyroball will need to save his friend. So yeah... I just realized that I got this idea from long time ago. Just found it in my pile of notes. I nearly lost them due to it seemingly lack relevance. But now, I made it into reality. So enjoy this episode.
Also, original concepts belong to Ben Bocquelet and Cartoon Network. And "Lexy Watterson" is a fan OC belonging to "lexboss," fellow fanfic author.
The Amazing Gyroball
Episode 15: The Rex Mafia
In the metropolitan city of Elmore lies Gumball Watterson. This cat-boy has acquired "gyro-power" from the last two weeks. With this power, he and his siblings formed the What-The-Sons and combat the shadowy forces that lurk in their hometown's shadow. Especially with the enormously powerful GIGA Organization, the What-The-Sons discover that they had been harassing the people of Elmore once in a while, which further reinforce their position as a genuine threat to them and their friends. Not only are they abusing their social power and bully people for not complying with their 'rules,' but also are planning something really sinister for every different people. Now, it's up to these young heroes and the new allies they have found or will find later in the future as they still continue to stand against the organization. But how long can they hold it? Will they be enough to serve as Elmore's line of defense, or will they need to expand their front line by making alliances with other small groups that stand against the GIGAs' totalitarian regime? If so, how will they find them and where will they find them? And what about Professor Psi, his secret life, and a mysterious mention on the ELF? Find out more as the battle for the fate of Elmore continues.
Right now, Gyroball is skating across the sewer maze with his "Gyro Skate," another variation of "Gyro-Ride." Instead of enclosing himself in a large gyroscope and maneuver it with his arms or rather his upper body, he encloses his feet with gyroscopes like skate shoes and maneuver them with his feet's motion. And on his right side, Goldfishman is using some hydrokinesis technique that allows him to either surf or skate over the water surface. Plug-Bunny will not make her appearance in this adventure as she now serves as a mission control alongside with Lexy Watterson, Gumball's twin sister.
"Hmm…" Gyroball is pondering onto something while skating with his superpower. "Feels like we're going to the same place before…"
"That's because that you're going to that same place!" said Plug-Bunny's voice in Gyroball's communicator with a snarky tone. "You and Goldfishman are going to the secret underground port to investigate more and perhaps find more information about GIGA's grand scheme."
"Yeah…" said Goldfishman. "It gives me a strangely nostalgic feeling, which I do not like."
"What?" asked Gyroball. "Don't tell me that the mist is coming from the W-essst." The hero makes a hissing noise when pronouncing the word 'west' to give his superstitious sailor friend goose bumps.
"Shut up!" said Goldfishman.
The little girl's voice let out an aggravated groan, annoyed of the scuba diver's irrational fear of this one place.
"Come on!" said Plug-Bunny's voice. "We already went to the 'wessst' ONCE! Perhaps TWICE or THREE-TIMES! And you're still scared of that place?"
"Yes…"
"Come on," said Gyroball while trying to hold down his chuckling. "Maybe that you're just so bad with horror that even stereotypical horror tropes that just happened to be in real life scares you."
"Hey!" said Plug-Bunny. "Remember the vacation… When we have ghost story in the car, and it suddenly become reality."
"Well, somewhat," the leader corrected the mission control. "It just turns out to be a huge misunderstanding that the whole family got fed up with. It turns out that the old people in the middle of the desert are kind and hospitable, despite of their unappealing looks on their face."
"What are you talking about?" asked another female mission control.
Cue the scene with Anais and Lexy handling with advanced computers installed with spy programs and other paramilitary equipment. They are staying in their girls' room, which its lights are turned off and its door is locked. The sisters are wearing animal-eared headsets with Anais wearing the bunny-eared headset while Lexy is wearing a cat-eared headset. Much to their parents' obliviousness, it looks as if the girls are playing some kind of MMORPG that Elmore kids would be into. Good thing that their parents decide to sleep early in their own room. They have snacks and drinks on their work station, being sweetened iced tea and some crackers.
Now, jump back to the sewer.
"Oh nothing, sis," said Gyroball. "Just remembering from our middle school vacation to somewhere… I dunno. It's in the middle of the desert."
"Umm…" said Lexy's voice.
"Don't ask."
"Dad's driving during our trip," said Anais' voice.
"Ok… Not sure what that means," said Lexy's voice.
"We'll talk more onto it later," said Anais' voice. Anais was formerly on-duty as Plug-Bunny. But, Gyroball assigned her to be a mission control that stays in their base.
"Other than the good old times," said Gyroball. "You gotta know about the extent of Goldfishman's superstitious thoughts."
"I told you to shut up!" said the annoyed scuba diver as they continued skating in the sewer.
"One time, when we were at Carrie's place, we played this horror game, Shizuoka, otherwise known as 'Quiet Hill' in international English release."
"That's it!" Goldfishman had enough with Gyroball's joke. "Fine! I chickened out of the room for an hour, trying to think of happy thought after seeing the horrific depictions of the supernatural horror in a historic Japanese region of the titular horror series. But by the time I come back to see what they're up to, I saw something shocking!"
"Hey!" said Gyroball. "Don't say it!"
"Let me guess," said Lexy's voice. "Gumball and Carrie make-out!"
"That's right," Goldfishman responds with stern tone. "Gumball and Carrie was making out with hot steamy passion!"
Then, the scuba diver got punched by Gyroball.
"Oww…" Goldfishman moaned with pain.
"That's what you get!" said Gyroball. "Also, she was the one who forced herself onto me!"
"Right…" said Anais with a somewhat skeptical tone. It's more like sleaziness than skepticism. "Female being on top of male… how rare and interesting."
"Shut up!" said Lexy's voice. "A little girl like you shouldn't be knowing about this stuff. It's for adults!"
"More specifically young adults, or more commonly teenagers. And besides, I'm mentally a teenager right now despite of my body being those of a seven-years-old."
"I'm worried about you," Lexy flat-out expressed her concern about the abnormal expressions of 'maturity' that Anais have.
"That's right," said Gyroball. "You should not talk about these mature concepts. Only grown-ups can."
"Says you!" Anais sass back through Gyroball's communicator. "You cannot even hold initiative in your love life. And now, you'll be having girls problem." After making such comment, she laughs like a seemingly innocent girl.
"Why you little…" Gyroball grunted with slight anger.
"And you're already here."
As Gyroball and Goldfishman hear the mission control's statement of having arrived at their destination, they stopped themselves. Upon stopping, they look at the secret underground port underneath Bridge #80, which is also part of Elmore Expressway. The heroes look at the city with awe as they are brightly lit with street lights. They can't get used to how an industrial complex looks so beautiful yet nobody has found its attractive looks underneath a shore-side cliff.
"Whoa…" the heroes look at the scenery with awe.
"Yeah…" said Anais' voice. "We already went there."
"Same here," said Lexy's voice.
The What-The-Sons become surprised by Lexy's claim.
"What? I was wondering around, looking for home and family. And I often visit to this place. Although, it's a terrible place to be in despite of its luxurious look."
"Right…" said Gyroball. "Because of criminals."
"Right!"
"Well… We gotta get going."
"Alright! Be safe you guys!"
"We will!"
After then, the communication ends. Goldfishman turns to Gyroball.
"What shall we do?" asked Goldfishman.
"We shall look for clues!" said Gyroball with a faked cheery voice.
"Alright!" The scuba diver is oblivious as always.
"Seriously! Be more serious now!" Gyroball scolded his partner.
"Sorry…"
While the heroes were in the middle of their discussion, they were spotted by an old lizard woman in old green dress and old green beanie. This particular elderly woman got her lizard traits like scaly pale skin and yellow slit-eye from some mutation. A lot of people in Elmore possess strange traits from weird mutations. She looks at the costumed bystanders with bizarre expression.
"What?" asked Gyroball casually. He initially did not know who the woman is. But, he recalled a vital information from Lexy that the secret port is filled with criminals and were often found here for some businesses that are not to be seen up on the surface world. "Hey… What business brings you here?"
"Why does it matter?" asked the lizard woman.
"Cause, this place isn't very well known by anybody. In fact, this is a little secret place that few people with secrets go to for secret businesses. It's so secretive that rarely anybody on the surface of Elmore would know anything about it. So tell me your secrets!"
"What! No!"
"Oh really?" Gyroball forms a gyroscope condensed with gravitational energy. "I beg the differ!"
The lizard woman gulped with fear as she knows that someone with an aptitude for manipulating some form of energy is indeed strong and this kind of people means real business. As the old woman froze with fear, Goldfishman slaps Gyroball on his face.
"Oww…" said Gyroball. "What the freak did you do that for?"
"You're threatening an old lady and it isn't right," Goldfishman responds.
"Haven't you forgotten that the whole port is crawling with villainous creeps? We went there once, only to see some guy that is doing shady business. And, we also got into a brawl with some of our old enemies that we did off-scene!"
"But…"
"Even our mission command straight out admits that this is a bad place full of bad people."
"But she's different. We often see her off-scene too, remember."
"Hmm… Naw! She isn't that good."
"Hey!" lizard woman protests about Gyroball's comment. "How would you know if I'm good or not?"
"Cause no good people will be in this place to begin with…" Gyroball answered the lizard woman's question, only to see her distancing herself away from the costumed visitors. "After her!"
So, the lizard woman runs away into a maze full of rectangular cargo containers as the heroes chase her.
With a mysterious old woman running amok in a place where she isn't supposed to be in, Gyroball and Goldfishman chase her with their "Gyro-Ride" and "Water Jet Propulsion" respectively. Surprisingly, she seems to be in good shape as she runs on with all four in a rather steady speed. Not to mention, she seems to know her way around the maze.
As the two heroes are on a great chase for the suspicious individual, they crossed to different cargo boxes containing different items and places. They crossed the secret underground arena where delinquent kids are pitting mutant animals like a yellow mouse that hiss out electricity against an acid-spitting snake.
"Whoa! Monster fight!" said Gyroball with amusement.
"Not cool man!" Goldfishman expresses dissent with this kind of unfriendly sport, especially for the treatment of animal. This shows that he has animal empathy as his ability, or that it could be himself once having some delusion of being an animal, or something. The merman's mental state is currently unknown along with his origin story.
"What?"
"That's animal cruelty!"
"Screw you bee… ye-ouch!" Before some unruly kid curse at the costumed crusaders, Goldfishman shot an orb of water at his face at high speed, causing him to fall down into the arena. The non-sapient mutant animals took notice of the human visitor and look at them with vicious ill-intent, presumably revenge.
"Ahh…." The kid screamed as he is being attacked by the animals.
"Dude! What the freak!" said Gyroball.
"That's no way to treat an animal!" said Goldfishman.
"Never mind him! We need to get the old lady!"
Gyroball spots the old woman running out of the exit of the secret arena. They chased after her.
As they leave the arena, the chase continues on. They went to many different metal crates. The heroes went to the night bar that sells some kind of green herb, which the store owner may not have sale license for it. Perhaps, there is no existing sale license for the green herb at all due to it not being approved by the government and other medical authorities.
Then, they exited the scene as they continue to see the woman running away. The costumed crusaders saw the woman crawl into another crate and quickly jump into it, only to see a secret surgery room. They watch the doctors, wearing a plague mask, performing some operation that shouldn't be seen in public audience.
"Aw… gross!" said Gyroball.
"I'll be sick!" said Goldfishman.
So, the heroes exit out of the surgery room and resume their chase for the woman. The woman entered into another crate. They entered, only to reveal that it is a rather classy fine dining establishment.
"Oh, that's nice!" said Goldfishman.
"Yeah…" said Gyroball.
"Would you like a sample of Tiger Blood and Panda Steak?" asked the waiter. He shows the visitor a palate of red drink on small glass and cut up pieces of meat.
"Would I?" said Gyroball.
"Would you?"
"NO!" Goldfishman abruptly interrupts as he pushes the somewhat hungry motorcyclist out of the restaurant. Apparently, he is disapproving of this dining establishment.
"Why did you push me out?" asked Gyroball with disappointment.
"Cause, they're bushmeat," said Goldfishman. "Illegal food items. Eating them is not only illegal, but also unethical as it is a huge slap on the innocent animals' face."
"Pff… you eat meat!"
"Well… I'm trying to be a vegetarian, but you guys kept ruining it."
"Just admit that you're weak."
"Yeah…" Goldfishman become meek. "But still, animal conservation! They eat…"
"Lalala… I'm not listening! Let's go on!"
So, they resume with their chase for the potential criminal, only to end up in what appears to be a cozy hotel with red, furry heart-themed décor.
"That is nice!" Goldfishman commented.
Gyroball taps the scuba diver at his soldier, causing him to turn his face to a window with its room being dark. The motorcyclist is hearing sounds that should not be heard. Whatever the hero is seeing, it's something that should not be seen. Don't question it as they're in their second trip to the criminal underworld. It is obvious that the heroes are seeing the darker side of Elmore, where it is all hidden underground. Having a time in it will have some cost of one's sanity being in a questionable state. Goldfishman sees and hears the same thing that Gyroball sees and hears, provoking horror into the poor man's mind as it is something that should not be experienced in due time (until they become older).
"Get out! GET OUT!" Goldfishman squeals like a scared girl.
So the heroes get out of the hotel and continue on their search for the suspicious lady. Their chase continues on with them going to random crates with random things. The horror in it varies. They saw people from unknown nation, tending some kind of herb farm in a makeshift greenhouse. Then, they saw who appear to be businessmen in their board meeting and exchanging of paperwork. After that, they saw computer technicians producing copies of some popular media like movies, video games, and other.
"Aw, sweets!" said Gyroball with amusement. "An electronic media production!"
"No!" said Goldfishman with disapproval. "They are digital pirates and digital piracy is stealing!"
"Ah what! You're being such a buzzkill. A certain gamer kid would love it."
"Moving on!"
So the heroes continue their chase in other cargo containers. They jump from a makeshift apartment for those who can't afford a living on the surface world to the soup kitchen cafeteria to a secret mineshaft, where people harvest some rare minerals and do trading. And, they happened to see a congregation of people in black robes, doing some ritual that involves with ominous chanting and red magic circles. The two heroes remain shock for a moment about this secret "Goth Club," but not too shocked about it as they have a good friend that is somewhat into it.
After the small trip from the "residential area" to the underground mineshaft, they ascend up to a large office room, containing many computers with technician decrypting codes in their own little cubicles. Presumably, they are doing some cyber-crimes, be it hacking at some significant computer programs at other big places or doing covert digital mining and hence producing illegal black electronic currency.
"Told you that digital piracy is stealing!" said Goldfishman.
"Dude," said Gyroball. "This does nothing. If anything, they are getting extra bills through weird techno-decryption thing. Remember this one time…"
"Oh…" Goldfishman starts to remember something.
"Then, he's cheating and cheating never prospers."
"He already cheated and already prospered from it anyway." Gyroball starts snickering for a bit. "Aside from people getting away from doing bad things and being rewarded for them, we should continue on."
Other than the apparent joke about how bad guys occasionally win and get away from their wrong-doings, the heroes continue to pass by different rooms in search for the suspicious old woman. The heroes are catching up with their target. And by the time they went closer to her, they finally cornered her at the small alley made from the small space between two or more metal crates.
"Wow!" said Goldfishman with amazement. "We learned a lot of things from this trip."
"Yeah!" said Gyroball. "That sometimes the dark side is wicked cool and awesome!"
Goldfishman was about to slap his superior, but the masked motorcyclist blocks it with his superior reflex and martial art skill.
"Touché," said Gyroball. "But continue on."
"That the dark side reveal much about the deep, secret nature of humanity, which the majority of them have never felt and shouldn't even felt beforehand," said Goldfishman. "I mean, there are secrets that are meant to be kept secret as it's just too horrific!"
"Anyway…" The leader turns his head to the old woman. "It's over! Now tell us what business you have here!"
"Hehehe…" the old woman chuckled. "I think that it's you who will need to answer that."
Then, the armada of reptilian goons is crawling into the scene. They surround both the heroes and the old woman. She crawls out of the scene as few of the scaly henchmen take her place. Goldfishman becomes startled by the reptile men ganging up on them, but Gyroball remains brave in this dangerous situation.
"Pff…" said Gyroball with confidence. "You guys don't scare me."
The lizard men march forward.
"Well…" said the motorcyclist. "What are you waiting for?"
Then, the heroes start brawling against a large unit of lizard men. Gyroball is punching and kicking them with his gyro-enhanced martial arts. Goldfishman is using his various hydrokinesis techniques to knock them out like water whipping, water waves, jet streams, and so on. The dynamic duo is easily knocking the scrawny grunts out. But, more lizard men, with larger size and more defined muscle tone, start marching in. With tougher foes marching in, the heroes are having more difficulty. More and more henchmen start crowding over the scene until everything becomes black.
Elsewhere in the hidden underground settlement, there is what appears to be a teenage reptilian girl dressed in what appears to be a kimono. She is sitting backward on her knees in what appears to be a Japanese-style room. The room has a memorial shrine in the center back for someone who is presumably most important and significant in her family's secret business. Not only is the room blooming with Japanese aesthetics as seen with different cultural paraphernalia, but also have some other European elements infused into this serene atmosphere.
"Princess!" said Lizard Woman as she enters into the room.
"What is it?" asked the girl in a kimono with a rather soft and calm voice.
"We got some dirty rats nosing up on our business."
"Let me see them!"
The Lizard Woman gives out hand waves toward to the room, gesturing someone that is waiting behind the door to come in. The muscular reptilian henchmen enter with two beaten up costumed visitors on their arms. As they approach to the princess, the henchmen drop the unwanted visitors onto the seating cushion. After having them seated, they offer the visitors cup of warm green tea with nutritional additives to help them recover from their earlier rough-housing along with some rice-based snack by its side.
"Thank you?" Gyroball thanked the henchmen with a confused face. He becomes puzzled by the henchmen being hospitable for someone whom they showed hostility earlier.
"So…" asked the princess as she is still facing the memorial shrine. "What brings you here?"
"Well…" Gyroball becomes stuck on how he got into a big mess.
"We were following an old lady, who was often seen up on Elmore," said Goldfishman. "She was a senior citizen that wasn't well known amongst other senior citizens. And seeing that she is in the underground port full of illegal businesses, we suspect that she is part of something big that will be bad for Elmore." Goldfishman explained the whole story to the princess of some underground black market company. Gyroball slaps his naïve partner's head.
"Well duh! She works for us," the princess replied.
"Anyway… What do you guys doing here underground?" asked Gyroball.
"Like how there are polices and other city authorities enforcing their law on their territory, we enforce our laws in our territory."
"Whoa, whoa, hold up. So you're saying that your group controls..."
"Yes. They look over the businesses that are going on in this secret port along with some bureaucratic works. And if they are problems in it, we solve it instantly."
"And by solving it..."
"We search for them and eliminate them with our armed force."
"Oh crud," said scared Goldfishman. "Don't tell me that…"
"That's right," said the princess as she stands up and turn around to see the visitor. The princess revealed herself to be Tina Rex, the infamous tall reptilian girl that functions as the school bully and occasionally unofficial hall monitor. Gyroball and Goldfishman become shocked by this surprising news about their schoolmate being a high-ranked member of a criminal organization along with her being surprisingly feminine. Nobody would know of her feminine side as they see her being violent, which is stereotypically uber-masculine and unfeminine. It doesn't help that people often hear her voice that was once deepened while she's "growing up" during her middle school years. She has gone through some weird changes during her adolescence like any other students. "What you see is the Rex Mafia, the big family that runs their business in Elmore's dark underworld."
"Gah!" the two heroes become shocked.
"And speaking of which, I thought that I invited some guy to come over," Tina continues speaking in a softer, more feminine voice. If she has made her 'spoken' appearance earlier, her voice was meant to sound like a rough tomboyish girl with boisterous outbursts.
"Umm… who are you talking about?" asked Gyroball with nervousness.
"It's no one important. But, I noticed that you didn't even touch your treats!"
Cue Gyroball's treat being zoomed in with dramatic flair.
"What!" said Goldfishman as he unknowingly got into the drama that Tina has invoked. The scuba diver has removed his rebreathing mask so that he could eat.
"Dude!" Gyroball glares at his partner through his opaque motorcycle visor. He becomes shocked by how oblivious Goldfishman is. He removed the mask that conceals his identity. But for strange reasons, he didn't remove the eyewear.
"Now take off that mask of yours," Tina commanded her visitor.
"NO!" the motorcyclist sass back. "I won't take it off."
"Do it!"
"NOO!"
"Then I will force you!"
"Why won't you use force on Goldfishman!"
"Pff… I already know that he's Darwin."
"Ooo-ahh…" Goldfishman's face become dramatically shocked. Gyroball slaps him on the face.
"Dude!" Gyroball scolded. Then he turns back to Tina. "Are you sure that he's whoever you just said."
"Hmm… playing dumb heh. Well I will remove that eye goggle of his. And then, I will remove your helmet!"
So the princess jumps toward to Goldfishman and quickly thrusts her claw onto his goggle. She swipes it upward, causing the scuba diver's identity to quickly be revealed as Darwin Watterson.
"Nee-oooo…" Darwin screams in a rather cutesy voice. His merman scale sparkles under the lighting from the Japanese-style room. As his goggle got swiped from the princess, he collapses on the group, becoming depressed as he eats the rice snack and drink tea.
"You're pathetic," said Gyroball.
"Then you must be Gumball!" said Tina.
"Pff… I merely adopted Darwin to be my sidekick," said Gyroball in a deep voice. He's trying to make a faced with confidence, but Tina doesn't really buys it.
"Then, I will have to remove your helmet to make sure that what you said is true," Tina loosens her fingers as she raises her hand menacingly.
"Nope! I'm out of here!"
Gyroball is attempting to escape from Tina, but she moves too quickly for him to exit the room. The reptilian girl dashes like a velociraptor. With her being too close to him, Gyroball performs some martial art moves to knock her off and get enough distance to leave. She counters all of his attacks with ease. Then, she knocks him down by tripping him with a simple tail whip at his foot to take away his balance. He fell and she lies on top of him.
"Now take of that helmet!" Tina demands it as her claws are tightly gripped on the sides of the helmet.
"Noo!" Gyroball resists as he is holding his helmet in its place.
While the two struggle for the helmet, Tina accidentally activated the communication to the main base.
Meanwhile in the Watterson's residence, Lexy and Anais are just watching their some pony cartoon show, which have a big cult following of basically everyone of all age; even the adult men have allegedly watched the show. Anais like this show during her middle school years, which is when she is still four to six years old. In fact, Anais would consider it to be her second favorite, with Daisy the Donkey as her number one favorite. Lexy, on the other hand, also take a liking to it. Amongst many adult fans, the television series is much better than a certain Pony's Tale movie, which most fans will cry with horror. On the other hand, Lexy seems to like the show.
On their computer screen, they are seeing some pony blabbering about some "magic of friendship" when facing off against the dark forces of some cheesy flamboyant villain. While continuing to watch the movie, it was abruptedly interrupted by some interception, more specifically from Gyroball's helmet. The girls look at each other seriously, thinking that their brothers got themselves into trouble. So, they click the video, seeing the face of a reptilian girl popping in front of them. They jumped back as if they got "jump-scares" from an infamous indie video game involving with an innocent task of maze traveling.
"Holy crud!" said Anais.
"What's going on!" asked Lexy.
"Take out your mask!" Tina demands.
"No!" said Gyroball as he is struggling in the video. The girls are watching through the helmet's point of view.
"We need to do something!" Lexy panics.
"Right now isn't the right time!" said Anais.
"But…"
"We gotta let them be," Anais responded dramatically.
"Nnnoo…" Lexy was about to let out a scream from quietness to loudness. But, Anais whacks her head with a pillow. "Ow…"
"I'm sorry. But they are on their own," said Anais with a nearly tearfully expression.
"Umm… wait a second…" Lexy saw something surprising.
"What?" asked Anais.
"The reptilian girl looks like a certain someone from our school."
"Which is…"
"Tina. The one that proposes a series of challenge to other girls with Gumball as their winning prize."
"That's dumb," Anais wasn't amused.
"I know," Lexy wasn't too amused either. "But still…"
"No. We will not go there. Plus, he said that he can handle anything. So let's see it through." Anais becomes more deviant despite of her complying with the older brother's wish.
"Hmm… Alright." So, Lexy complied with Anais' logic, despite of having a slight sense of guilt. They did not take lightly of the prospect of girls staying in-door and boys going out-door. That is gender segregation, which was normally alright at the past, but is now somewhat frowned upon by the more progressive individuals in modern age.
Back to the Rex Mafia's lair, Tina and Gyroball are struggling over the mask. Darwin, in his Goldfishman suit, is doing nothing but watching while lying down with defeat and eating his treats.
"And now, you're mine!" said Tina as she smacks Gyroball's wrist with her claws. The hero loses grip on his helmet, causing his opponent to life the helmet out. With the helmet gone, Gyroball has been revealed as Gumball Watterson before the eyes of the mafia princess.
"Nyao…" Gumball screams in a cutesy voice. Him crying out "noo…" sounds like a weak, defenseless kitten meowing. His blue hair and cat-ears sparkles under the lighting in the Japanese-styled room. After crying out with defeat, he fall down to the floor with his hands covering his face.
"And you're the one to say that I'm pathetic?" Darwin makes a snarky remark at Gumball.
The unmasked hero respond by shooting a weak "gyro-ball" at Darwin, causing him to get hurt a little bit. The weak version of his signature projectile attack, which Gumball used on Darwin, has the concussive force of a poorly thrown baseball pitch, which does have much force as the professionally thrown pitch. There is a major difference in term of strength between the amateur pitch and the professional pitch.
"Ow…" said Darwin.
"So, you do remember our Deito!" said Tina.
"So that's what it is!" Gumball looked surprised.
"That's right. I called you here so that you'll witness my unseen feminine side," Tina responds with a softer, more feminine voice.
"Ohm-Mai-Gaud," said Gumball with even further shock. His face looks like those in the famous Scream painting.
"That's right. Ever since You and your mom came to settle some business, we talked about each other, trying to cover up some misunderstanding."
"Right… from last time in middle school."
"Is it the time when Tina bullied you Gumball?" asked Darwin. Tina and Gumball become unamused by his obliviousness and to certain extent, insensitivity. The cat-boy hurled the "gyro-ball" "softly," causing the merman to get knocked out.
"Yeah…" Tina continues the conversation. "It is the time when my true self is recognized, when you saw a delicate girl self of mine, which everyone is blind to."
"Well… I didn't exactly say it that way. But it's hard to see your delicate side when you kept fraying your super-strength around."
"I know…" the princess become slightly disheartened by herself for continuing to invoke fear and retaining strong image of oneself at the cost of being deemed less feminine. This hurts her "girl pride" much like how boy acting effeminately will get his "man pride" crushed.
"But what just happened?"
The princess sighs. "My father found a new job at summer before our freshman year. We were living in a very rough time back then. You already saw that we once lived in a dump. But now thanks to new friends and connections that my dad got, he formed the Rex Mafia. He rallies up people like ourselves, who struggles in the dark city of Elmore. And together, we stand strong and mighty as one big family."
"Wow… Sounds like your dad is a charismatic guy."
"Yes he is. He suddenly decides to take action. And so, he did and he got a lot of men working for him."
"I see…"
"But like any family business," Tina refers to the mafia as family business due to her and her father running it. "There are sacrifices that must be made. I have to continue to live up my father's legacy just in case if anything happens. I'm essentially the princess of this clan."
"So that's why you continue to act boisterous with your strength and invoking fear." Gumball sympathizes with Tina for being essentially forced to act like her brutish father.
"But hey. I still get to act like a girl. I basically live as the princess of the clan, where many men respect me as ojou-sama and acknowledge my feminine grace. That is quite rewarding for me."
"Yeah…"
"But while I was being the princess of the family, I still remember the first person to actually recognize me as a girl and not a guy, which many school kids confused me for."
"Who is it?" asked Darwin.
"It's Gumball," said Tina. "And because of it, I become very touched."
"So that's why you entered into some competition with Penny and Carrie."
"That's right. Ever since that moment, I have eyes on you."
Gumball was about to speak, but was hushed by the princess.
"But, the trophy WAIFU cannot choose anyone. The only one that the trophy can 'choose' it someone that wins it fair and square through series of difficult trials."
"Whaa…" Gumball gasps. It seems that he cannot just simply choose Penny to be his girlfriend.
"Well that's girls for you I guess," said Darwin with a nervous smile.
"Wow. I cannot believe that girls will be having a catfight. Literally!"
"With you being the cat," said Tina as she makes a gawky tomboyish laugh. It's a miracle that Tina changed from some androgynous brute to a more tomboyish action girl. "But asides from this, my men are having troubles in their business trips."
"Umm…" Gumball and Darwin become stuck.
"It's somewhat too obvious. My family got in trouble with some higher ups from several different places."
"And would one of them include GIGA Organization?" asked Gumball out of some compulsion. With this particular threat continuing to harass his family and friends, he cannot ignore them.
"Yes. My father has the most trouble with them. We lost many men to them. Even some of our elite members are lost due to them."
"So that explains the shrine behind you."
"Yes. Some of the elite members are whom I consider them to be my best friends." She turns to the shrine with a mournful look. She whispers "Mizu-san."
As Gumball and Darwin look at their friend mourning for the loss of her few close friends, one henchman comes into a room with a worried face.
"Princess!" said the henchman.
"What is it?" asked Tina.
"We're under siege!"
"By whom?"
"The blasted GIGA Organization."
"That cursed GIGAs!" Gumball cursed.
"Hold them off!" the princess commands.
"Understood!" the henchman left the scene.
"What should we do?" asked Darwin.
"Well…" said Gumball. "There is one thing that we should do!"
"Which is…" said Tina.
"To fight back!" Gumball answered. "Though, we need our masks back."
Tina doesn't look amused. But, she does need any help available necessary due to how powerful and threatening the GIGA Organization is in Elmore.
Later, Gyroball and Goldfishman, are back in action and in their masks. They are standing over one metal crate, seeing that the reptilian goons are fighting against the clipboard men, foot soldiers with iconic clipboard motif that serves the GIGA Organization. The armored soldiers seem to be having an upper hand against the lizard men. While the men are fighting near the harbor in the subterranean cove, they spotted the GIGA's warship with cargo on them. With enhanced eye sight, Gyroball saw what the shady agency has brought over, which is the GIGA Generators. Recognizing it as a power enhancement device, the What-The-Sons brothers instantly realize that they have shady business. They are planning to initiate some trade or negotiation involving with their own invention.
Gyroball got call from someone new. He picked it up, saying "Yello."
"Are you in there?" asked Tina's voice.
"Yeah! I'm here!"
"Status report!"
"Your men are still fighting the GIGA's foot soldiers. Though, the soldiers seem to be having an upper hand against them."
"What do you mean by that?"
"They have better utility. They are armed with weapons that correspond well with the enemies they have anticipated."
"So they come prepared?"
"Appears so."
"Darn! This is troublesome for me and my father as they are threatening our family business. My dad will be so frustrated when he sees that his men have lost."
"Ok. This is somewhat of an inappropriate question, but what have the GIGA Organization done to you, aside from the mafia thing."
"I could say that they're the reason why we become the mafia in the first place. My father and I had to move underground due them wanting something from us. He knows that they are up to no good, and basically want to enslave us."
"So, they harassed you to the point of this…"
"Yeah…"
"That cursed GIGA…" Gyroball's voice is rising with frustration.
"Not only do they mess our peaceful life before we started the family business, but also after the family business. They tried to ruin it by introducing their power-ups covertly through their spies."
"Princess, we will do everything in our power to put a stop to their nefarious plan once in and for all!"
"Alright. Thanks."
A moment later, he got another contact, though it's from their home base.
"Hello?" asked Gyroball.
"What happen?" asked Anais' voice.
"Well… a long story short."
"Don't tell me. I saw it through the helmet cam."
"How?"
"You did it. Didn't you?"
"It's Tina and her 'family business.'"
"That isn't good."
"Yeah… everything was fine before. But everything changed when the GIGA Organization attacked."
"Oh please… stop being so cheesy with some random meme."
"Well excuse me princess, but Goldfishman got me into this stupid meme thing!"
"See! You did it again. And this time, don't do it again."
Gyroball pauses and think for a moment. But nonetheless, he was about to speak, planning to say it again just to tick off his little sister.
"Please! Don't do it again!" said Lexy's voice. "You wouldn't want to see her angry."
"Oh please. I already seen her angry."
"But I haven't. And I'm not looking for it!"
"Ok…" said Gyroball awkwardly. "Anyway, we found out that the GIGA is still trying to conquer the port. And the Rex Mafia is trying to protect it along with other volunteers."
Cue other types of mutants helping the reptilian goon fend off against the clipboard men.
"Uh-huh…" Anais is making a noise, seemingly understanding what's going on as she's seeing through the helmet camera. "Well, it will suck to say this. But, we need to help the people of the underground port as the GIGAs winning the port will be disastrous for the rest of North Bay cities and later everywhere else."
"Alright. Let's…"
"Hold it! Before you guys could even jump into action, you'll need the game plan. While everyone else is distracted, attack their warship. Without it, they are rendered defenseless and victory will go to us. Think about it. With them being held prisoners by the people, Elmore could finally have a chance of freedom from the shady organization."
"Alright! Let's do this!"
The communication transmission has ended. And, the two heroes jump into action.
In the next scene, Gyroball and Goldfishman land onto the deck of one warship that is anchored on the harbor. Fortunate for the underground settlement, the warship is the only transportation GIGA has brought. And without it, they won't be able to retreat and victory will unanimously go to the rebels. By the time they arrived, some sailors have noticed their presence.
In response to the enemies spotting them, the heroes quickly knocks them out with their "Gyro Storm" and "Water Whirlpool" attack. All men on deck have been washed up, knocked out by their strong multi-target attack.
After the first wave being knocked out, more comes in. This time, the enemy force comes in variety like sailors, clipboard men, and armed scientists, and more. The heroes looked troubled by this site.
"Alright!" said Gyroball. "Goldfishman! Take down the enemy force in the open deck with nice ocean scenery, while I go find the power core!"
"Got it!" said Goldfishman.
So, the two heroes depart to different ways. Goldfishman is holding down the enemy force by using hydrokinesis at the surrounding water of the harbor. He is using large water whip to knock multiple enemies out.
Gyroball is dashing fast with his "Gyro-Skate." As he is skating across the hallway, he saw some incoming enemies trying to stop him. Having anticipated their arrival, Gyroball used "Gyro Giga Drill," clearing everything out of the hallway along with causing collateral damage on the ship itself. As the hero continues forward, more enemies start appearing. He continues the cycle of violence by shooting "gyro-balls" and using gyro-enhanced punches. This routine is being repeated for a while until he enters into engine room, where the power core should be located.
As the hero arrived to his destination, he steps into the engine room, filled with steam-based mechanism along with computers. By the time he entered the room, the entrance door shuts itself.
Then, the power core shows a holographic video image with the silhouette man in a bright white room.
"So we meet again, Gumball" said the silhouette man.
"You!" Gyroball angrily respond. "What brings you here?"
"Oh… We figure that we could have the secret underground port that you and your fellow rebel friends are trying to stop. The Rexes have been a nuisance to us and our plan to expand our boundary to the whole North Bay."
"Why not being content with your stinkin' East Bay territory!"
"Well… It's because that there isn't much activity in the East Bay. It's pretty much barren. And there are activities that are going on throughout the west of our territory and we must simply have to be there."
"Well, that's none of your business!" The hero quickly charged up his "gyro-ball" and hurled it on the power core that is projecting holographic video footage of the silhouette man. The whole room starts blaring red with alarm. Siren is blaring everywhere. Gyroball is being overstimulated by flashing red light and siren blaring. "What's going on?"
"Hahahaha…" the silhouette man starts laughing. "You triggered the warship's last line of defense. Every weapon systems automatically activate themselves and are now targeting on the rebels."
The video shows multiple footages. One of them is the turret firing lasers at Goldfishman, which he is running away from. Another shows that the rebels being blasted by lasers from the warship. Many more is involving with the warship's lasers blasting the underground port.
"It's marvelous that the warship, which you and your genius sister plan to take down and earn victory for the rebel forces, is destroying the port that you are trying to protect away from us. It's destroying the place; though, it's worth it as we will eventually take it along with our increased power over your city."
"Gah dam it!" Gyroball cursed.
"And now, the engine room security is activated so that it can stall time for our conquest of the whole North-East Strait and eventually the entirety of the North Bay. So, ta-ta!"
The video transmission ended, leaving with the security system trying to protect the power core. Multiple laser turrets erect from its hiding places and starts firing lasers at the hero. But, Gyroball dodges them skillfully and fired multiple "gyro-balls" at the turrets, obliterating them in process. The turrets kept firing laser at him, which forces him to shield himself behind some computer platform. While being stuck behind the barrier, he is thinking of a way to quickly get rid of the security as he knows that the warship is attacking the port along with its people.
A moment later, he quickly thought of something. After then, he jumps out and performed the "Gyro Storm" to shoot multiple "gyro-balls" around him in centrifugal force. It destroys nearly everything around the engine room. The security system is critically damaged along with other miscellaneous machinery. He rendered the ship immobile due to critical damage, which means that the soldiers of GIGA Organization cannot retreat. But he still got to destroy the power core that enables the weapon systems to keep firing laser at the port. So, he did the unthinkable to stop the war machine and save the port; he performs a "Gyro Giga Double Drill," a technique which he have two "Gyro Giga Drills," each on his hands. He thrusts on onto the power core, then another on the same spot. The core is sparking with electricity, indicating that it get critical hit and is almost to its breaking point. Then, the hero is harvesting gravitational energy from the outside onto his one hand, which is covered with a gyroscope. By the time he finished imbuing much gravitational energy into his gyroscope-covered hand, he used an incredibly powered-up gyro-enhanced karate chop to split the power core into halves. The hero calls this maneuver, the "Zero X3 Combo," a rather simplistic tactic in which he super-charge himself to the fourth level, shoot two super-charged shot one-by-one, and finish it with a simple super-charged chop. He learns it from a fellow gamer and his favorite video game.
With his combo attack dealt onto the power core, the warship initiate self-destruct due to the energy instability that the engine room is suffering. This kind of damage is crucial for any warships as their power comes from the engine room. Seeing that the room is steaming with loose vapor spewing out of the pipe and energy beaming out of some machines, Gyroball used the "Gyro Charge," a powered up "Gyro Ride" that allows him to crash through solid objects without getting damage. It is essentially "Charged Tackle," an attack which one charge themselves with energy and tackles someone, and "Gyro Ride" combined. He flies up, crashing through the ceiling.
Meanwhile, Goldfishman is running around, trying to dodge the lasers. But, he realizes that the weapon system is not only shut down, but is about to self-destruct. The scuba diver realizes that the motorcyclist has destroyed the power core and thus thwarted the villain's evil plan to reconquer the underground port. Gyroball crashes out of the captain's room with his "Gyro Charge," and quickly grabbed his partner out of the warship.
Later, the two heroes have returned back to the land far away from the enemies' warship. With the Rex Mafia and other volunteers along with captive enemies standing away from the warship, the GIGAs' ride back home has exploded into a wrecked ship. Loose debris is flying out from the ship to the harbor, where the people stand. Most of the debris is just scrap metal; some are valuable electronic components that could need some fixing up, and some are really valuable tool with little or no damage. One of the untouched pieces that falls onto the resistance force's hand is the GIGA Generator.
Everyone cheered victoriously as they finally have legitimate victory over the powerful force that kept harassing them for a long time. Gyroball and Goldfishman watch the crowd cheer.
During the middle of the celebration, Gyroball got an incoming transmission. It was from Anais and Lexy in their home base.
"You did it!" said Anais' voice cheerfully.
"Yeah!" said Gyroball.
"With the warship wrecked and locked on the port, we could do further investigation, find out what their plan is, and stop them once and for all!"
"Yeah… but…" He used the camera feature to show him how damaged the ship is.
"Ehh…" Anais become slightly worried. "Meh," she got over it quickly. "It wouldn't be much work to fix up the communication."
"Hey!" said Lexy's voice. "Is anybody alright there?"
"Yeah!" said Gyroball.
"Oh thanks goodness you're safe."
"Yeah! Well, the port is safe, and there is no way that the GIGAs can advance themselves to the North Bay."
Suddenly, another incoming transmission has been received by Gyroball.
"Hold up, sis," said Gyroball. Then, he switched over to another transmission saying "Hello."
"Congrats, WAIFU!" said Tina's voice.
"What about cally me HUSBANDO!" said Gyroball.
"Nope! I'm the husband and you're a waifu. That's how our relation dynamics go."
"What? But why?"
"I'm a busy person running the whole family and you… umm… go do domestic chore and comfort the bread maker."
"But I'm the bread maker!" Gyroball protests.
"Hush! My father will like to speak with you in person."
"But where is he?"
After asking her a question, his transmissions have ended. An incredibly tall shadow covers over the two heroes. The shadow belongs to Don Rex, the big boss of the Rex Mafia and Tina's father. He appears as a reptilian mutant in a black business suit. All that could be seen is the big boss looking at Gyroball and Goldfishman within a certain angle that no one can see his face.
"So," said Don Rex with a deep voice. "You're the extra help that my daughter has called for?"
"Yes sir!" said Gyroball.
"I gotta say, thank you for protecting my family, especially my lovely daughter."
"It's nothing, really."
"Say… I got a proposition for you. I could make you guys be a personal bodyguard for my princess."
"Hmm… that is a good proposition," Gyroball commented. "But I was thinking of another thing. Since we both have our businesses, we could make a joint effort to take down the GIGAs and bar them away from our territory, being Elmore."
"Yeah… That is a good proposition. Me and my men have great difficulty with the GIGA Organization, ruining our business with their meddling. They are trying to wreck our home and take away everything that we work for. They may endanger the people that me and my men have sworn to protect. So, yeah… We could make an alliance to fight against the GIGAs. You give us your raw physical prowess and we will provide you many helping hands. Deal?"
"Deal!"
So, the heroes have struck a deal with the Rex Mafia to have a joint effort to fight against the GIGA Organization whenever they decide to lead a siege against Elmore. With the What-The-Sons having a powerful underground militia in their arsenal, they are getting closer to being matched with the GIGA Organization in term of military power. But, it will be a long time to build up an army and a short time to stop them from starting up the grand scheme. Will extra helps from the underground settlement be enough to take down their greatest enemy? And will they be able to act against the grand conspiracy in time? And what future plans will the GIGAs have against the What-The-Sons and other like-minded citizens of Elmore, especially since the mysterious silhouette man has made a long reappearance to Gyroball himself? Find out on the next episode of The Amazing Gyroball!

From the reviews that I read from you adoring fans, I see that few of you wonder who Mr. Rex is. Well, I simply decide that Mr. Rex is Don Rex, a mafia boss who have to continue the "family business" to support his family. He's a loving father that just need to make a living. I don't have enough time to elaborate onto his character. But he is definitely fearsome. But yeah, I just made Mr. Rex into a mafia boss, if that isn't somewhat villainous enough (again, mafia=villains stereotype, not sure how it become a finely defined trope). But if compared to the GIGAs, he isn't that villainous as what the shady organization does is much worse (heck, Don Rex isn't seen to be villainous in any possible way in this episode. Just conduct secret businesses that just so happens to be illegal).
So yeah... I just decide to throw in some random meme into my story (if you haven't notice), just to live up my namesake as "NRG-OVA-9000!" It will make some sense to my pen name. And if you want to have more say about the project, PM me (most recommended) or review box. Anyway, thank you for the support and stay tune!
