A/N: After another little hiatus I'm back with a new chapter. It's not very long but I thought I needed a little something to get me going again. Hopefully there will be more to come soon but in the meantime enjoy and don't forget to review!

Chapter 6

A week had passed since her last encounter with Draco and she had done everything she could to avoid him. Unfortunately, this also meant avoiding Diagon Alley, where she knew he frequented, and hiding at home a lot. However, try as she might, she couldn't avoid Draco in her dreams which had become more and more vivid.

Every morning she woke feeling guilty to her stomach but knowing that she couldn't talk to anyone about it. While her family may have accepted Draco as a way of mending bridges after the war, she doubted any of them would be thrilled to know that she was attracted to that. And worse than that, most of her family was already planning her wedding to Harry.

It wasn't like she didn't love Harry anymore. Harry was her constant, her rock, all things good. He made her smile and feel safe and loved. She knew that as long as she was with him she would be content and happy.

But Draco was so different. She didn't feel safe with him at all. She felt like she didn't know herself with him and didn't know what she would do next. He made her blood boil and sparked a flame she couldn't put out. While she knew she had to avoid him, every day that passed when she didn't see him she felt a little sadder.

It was with this feeling that she decided to head out on Saturday morning with Harry to Diagon Alley to do some shopping. And if they happened to run into Draco then there was nothing she could do.

"Mind if we stop by the Quidditch shop? I want to see if they have any new gloves," he asked as they strode hand in hand down the street. It was a lovely spring day and the street was crowded with couples and families.

"Sure. I wanted to check out the new broom anyways."

As they headed over to the shop out of the corner of her eye she spied a flash of bright blonde hair. Trying to pretend she hadn't noticed she continued on by, hoping he would see her and follow.

Harry and she entered the shop which was packed with people of all ages excitedly chatting about the items they were buying or the Quidditch season which was in full swing. Harry immediately headed off to the glove section while Ginny decided to wander around the robes section. She would have liked to see the newest brooms but there were too many kids crowding around it and she didn't want to fight the crowd.

She had just made it around a group of unruly boys when she came face to face with the very blonde she was hoping to see. However, she wasn't pleased to see the lengthy brunette hanging off his arm.

"Hey Red!" he said with his cavalier smirk as he walked towards her.

"Hi Draco. I'm sorry, I don't think I know your friend's name," she replied putting emphasis on the word "friend".

"I'm Daphne Greengrass. You're a Weasley right?" she asked. From the way she gripped Draco's arm tighter Ginny could tell that she wanted to make sure there was no question that Draco belonged to her.

"Ginny actually." She felt her temper starting to flare though she couldn't say for whom. Daphne certainly wasn't the nicest girl, but she had no loyalties to Ginny and besides Draco wasn't hers to covet. "Well, it was nice meeting you. If you'll excuse me, my boyfriend is waiting for me."

Without a second glance back, she turned and stomped away from the happy couple. Her cheeks burned and she felt shame wash over her. Of course Draco didn't like her. Why would he pine away after someone who was taken when he could have almost any girl he wanted? And besides, she was a Weasley and no matter how much he had changed, she was sure he wouldn't have changed his opinions that much.

She spied Harry by the register and stopped to take a calming breath. It wouldn't help for Harry to see her upset and for her to not be able to give an explanation.

"Hey babe. You all set?" she asked wanting to escape the confines of the store as soon as possible.

"Yep. You should see the new gloves I got. They're enchanted so they're water-proof and always keep my hands at the perfect temperature."

She smiled as she took his arm he offered her. Everything about them was so easy and perfect. They fit together like two pieces of a puzzle and she knew that she would never have to worry about where Harry's loyalties lied.

As they walked out of the shop she again noticed Draco standing there. Instead of looking at him, she turned her head forward and held it just a little higher as she walked out the store trying to look unaffected knowing that she wasn't even fooling herself.
