[Chapter 12: Leader of the Whack!]

Reefside Woods!

Trent quickly moved through the woods with a backpack full of the things he'll need as he tried to get away from Reefside as quickly as possible.

"We've got to further away," Trent said after he had pulled out a GPS. Trent looked at his White Dino Gems. "It's not safe."

Trent started moving again before he stopped to take a rest.

"Hold it there White Ranger!" he heard Cassidy's voice.

Trent looked over to see her and Devin standing there.

"No, don't worry, Cass, it's just Trent," Devin told her.

"Oh."

"Man," Trent said as he stood up, "you scared me half to death.

"Whatever, I thought you were the White Ranger," Cassidy told him.

"Yeah."

"Me?" Trent asked, "your kidding right?"

"No, I didn't actually think you were the White Crimson Ranger," Cassidy answered, "I thought that..."

"LOOK OUT!" Trent yelled when he noticed something heading towards Cassidy and Devin.

Both of them look behind them before they dodged quickly as it zoomed over them and then crushed with an explosion.

"What the heck was that?" Trent asked.

"I low flying spaceship?" Devin asked.

"I dunno, but whatever it was just landed over there," Cassidy answered, "grab your camera."

"No wait," Trent told them, "it could be dangerous."

"Danger's my middle name," Cassidy told him before she started to walk away.

"I thought it was Agnes."

As Devin and Cassidy walked towards the crush site Trent to look after them.

"I'm going to regret this," Trent said as he picked up his bag.

Dino Lab!

"McKnight, on a breakaway," Conner narrated as he kicked the soccer ball around the lab while Ethan was on his laptop and Kira was gently playing her guitar.

Jessica sat next to Kira drawing anime like versions of her three friends, Hayley, and Dr O.

"Hayley!" Ethan called out, "one more level and I break my all-time record." Conner looked up over the side of a box, grinning before aiming he tossed his little red soccer ball causing it to hit the ESCAPE key on the laptop which shut off the game. "Conner."

Chuckling at what he had done Conner went to retrieve it.

"Sorry," Conner apologized even though he wasn't sorry at all.

"Now I have to start all over," Ethan told him as Conner picked up his ball.

"You know, there's this great new thing called the outdoors," Conner told him, "you might wanna check it out."

"Tell you what," Ethan said as he turned to look at Conner, "I'll check that out when I see you checking out the library."

"You have a much better chance at seeing that then seeing Kira at a fashion show or Jessica actually being a punk," Conner told him with a laugh.

"Do you really want to go there?" Kira asked as she looked up from her guitar.

"Keep it up Conner," Jessica stated as she looked up at him, "cause you just might find yourself less of a man."

"Yikes," Ethan laughed along with Kira as Conner paled before he walked over to Hayley, "hey, any luck of de-fossilizing Dr. O."

"Not yet," Hayley answered, "I just can't find an energy source that can safely break the molecular bonds of the amber." Just then the computer beeped and Hayley walked over the main computer. "That's weird." Hayley pulled the find up more. "The satellite's picking up a strange reading from the forest."

"Let's go take a look," Conner told the other three before they left the lab.

Reefside Woods!

"We're the first on the scene," Cassidy said as she, Devin, and Trent walked up, "this is hot. There it is! Devin, start rolling

"Careful," Trent told them. "Oh, it's harmless," Cassidy stated before she pushed Devin closer, "get a close up."

"You sure Cass?" Devin asked, "it's still smoking." Trent kneeled down in to look at it a bit more closely. "Looks good on camera though."

"What is it?" Cassidy asked as Trent looked at his gem that where glowing.

"It's hard to say," Devin answered.

"Trent?" Trent heard Jessica's voice making him look over.

"What are you guys doing here?" Trent asked.

"I might ask you the same thing," Conner sneered, "haven't seen you around for awhile."

"Yeah," Ethan agreed, "we really need to catch up."

Trent stood up just as Conner and Ethan moved forward only to have Kira block them.

"Not now guys," she stated.

"Kira's right," Conner agreed, "let's check this thing out."

"Um, I don't think I'm supposed to let you do that," a monster told them.

All 6 of them looked over to see the monster and a group of Tyrannodrones. Jessica scowled in annoyances and disgust.

"Here I thought that Lothor's goons where bad looking," she whispered to Kira who cackled.

"Quick, run," Cassidy said.

Cassidy and Devin took off as more Tyrannodrones encircled the group of Rangers while they hid behind a tree, turning to watch what would happen.

"You want me to get this?" he offered as he bright up his camera.

"Hideous mutant creatures?" she scoffed, "like that's news in this town. Let's get outta here!"

They ran off and they were unaware as two purple strands of energy shooting out from the meteor and into their bodies as they ran off. The Rangers were left in a circle of Tyrannodrones and Conner quickly glanced across the meteor crater at the still-civilian White Ranger.

"Who's side you on today, Trent?" he inquired acidly.

"Do you want my help or not?" Trent countered as he took off his backpack.

"If it's all the same, I'll just watch from over here," the monster said before he went and hid while the Tyrannodrones rushed in to attack the Rangers.

All 5 Rangers took on their own group of Tyrannodrones who were no match for the Rangers. As they knocked back a whole wave of them within minute more came, and Kira's Dino Gem bracelet beeped, and she turned on the com-link.

"Go."

"Guys, I have been analyzing the radiation from that rock and it's really freaky. Get away from it!"

"It's a little late for that!" Kira replied before kicking a monster in the gut and knocking it to the ground.

Jessica slashed through a Tyrannodrone with a samurai sword when she noticed Conner get hit in the back. This made all four main Rangers regroup to look at the monster that went from tame to creep evil quickly.

"Come on, you wimps," the creature said, "put them up."

"You're thinking what I'm thinking?" Ethan asked as Conner stood up.

"Ready?"

"Ready!"

"Dino Thunder! Power Up! HA!" The four Rangers quickly morphed into their rangers. "Dino Power!"

"ATTACK!" the creature ordered the Tyrannodrones as the four Rangers ran forward.

Jessica took on her group of Tyrannodrones as the others took on their own group. The Green Ranger pulled out her Thundermax Saber and started to once again slash at the foot soldiers. Trent still fought a group of Tyrannodrones not noticing a purple beam of energy coming at him and then entering him bodies. It wasn't long, however, till he noticed that his view was blurry.

"Oh no," Trent breathed before he looked around and took off.

After Trent had left, nine purple beam of energy came from the meteor and all four Rangers were hit with three beams each of them. Jessica stopped looking a bit confused before she smirked underneath her helmet and started to tricks that she would never use before to defeat the Tyrannodrones

"It'll be back for round two," the creature said after Conner knocked him back before he and the Tyrannodrones left.

"Ok, Power Down," Conner said as all four Rangers powered down before Kira, Ethan, and Jessica ran up to stand next to Conner. "Well, that was a challenging altercation."

"I was just getting started," Ethan growled, "I wanted to annihilate that goon."

"Ew, I got dirt under my nails," Kira told them, "that's like, totally disgusting."

"Whatever," Jessica sighed as she rolled her eyes, "when can we leave because I got a lot of things to do people."

"Hey, where's Trent?" Conner asked looked confused.

It was that their morphers beeped so they raised them a bit.

"Guys come back to the lab," Hayley told, "I got some news about the space rock."

"Space Rock?" all four Rangers asked as they looked at each other.

Dino Lab!

"It's actually a meteor fragment," Hayley told them as she typed away.

"Fascinating," Conner said as he grinned making Hayley's face twisted in confusion as the other three along with her watched him walk off thinking aloud. "It must have broken off during some sort of galactic collision." Conner soon noticed the weird the looks he was getting. "What?"

"I'm just afraid that coming in such close proximity to it might have some strange side effects," Hayley confessed worriedly, "do you guys feel okay?"

Ethan ignored her as he stared at his arms as he flexed them and Kira grimaced.

"I for one am going home," the Yellow Ranger stated startling Hayley, "if I don't swab my cuticles in an aloe bath, my nails will never grow back."

Jessica rolled her eyes at Kira.

"Oh, just shut up already," Jessica groaned, "you haven't even really started yet and already your driving me insane." Kira glared at the Green Ranger who just choice to ignore her. "Well, I have to get home and get to planning some fun."

"I gotta hit the gym," Ethan added, "gonna work on my pecks."

"I wanna get home to watch that great documentary on the pyramids," Conner put in, "it looks quite fascinating."

Hayley looked on in surprise and shock as the teens left trying to figure out if these were the same teens that had left less then a half hour ago.

Hanson Household!

"I'm home!" Jessica called out as she walked through the front door.

Tori looked around the corner from the living room with the phone to her ears in time to see Jessica head for the stairs.

"Welcome home, Jessica," Tori greeted.

"Hey, Tor," Jessica greeted as moved to go up the stairs.

"Where are you doing?" Tori asked.

"Homework," Jessica lied.

"Alright."

With that said, Jessica headed up the stairs to her room while Tori turned back to the phone. A mischievous smile appeared on Jessica's face she thought of ways of getting back at Tori for her continuing flirting with Blake while on the phone.

Next Day: Dino Lab!

The next day Hayley paced around the Ranger Base watching as Ethan now decked out in sweats, lifted weights.

"Sup Hayley?" he grinned.

"Ethan, are you sure you feel okay?" she asked.

"Oh yeah, I'm pumped and ready to rock!" he shouted happily

Just then Conner came in looking like a complete studious college boy which took Hayley by surprise. Conner looked like some sort of scholar from England might look. If she wasn't wrong that it looked like he was wearing tweed. His red shirt was buttoned up for once and he was wearing a suit jacket over it as well as black dress pants and shoes.

"Good morning, all," he greeted as he walked up to them, "The weather is particularly pleasant today. Excessively low humidity."

"Whatever bro," Ethan chucked, "how do my arms look? Am I ripped or what?"

"Good morning Kira," Conner greeted.

"Hello," Kira's voice floated down the stairs and everyone turned to see her walking down the steps, a multitude of shopping bags around either wrist. "Sorry I'm late; there was a sale and I just couldn't...well, you understand."

Her hair was in a neat ponytail and her bangs were kept out her face with a yellow headband also, she was wearing a spaghetti strap yellow summer dress with high heels. It looked so foreign on Kira making Hayley to do triple takes to make sure it was Kira Ford and not someone else.

"You are to damn perky today Ford," Jessica groaned as she, too, walked into the Dino Lab the same way that Conner did, "you need to get into trouble more often."

Hayley had to do a double take when she saw Jessica wearing a black jean vest outlined in green over a green elbow length shirt, green mid-thing length frilly skirt, green knee length socks, and green flat boots while she carried what looked like a green off the shoulder bag. The redhead technician also noticed a mischievous glint in the Green Rangers eyes that made her worry.

"Hey," Ethan spoke up as he was still lifting weights making the others to look at him, "You guys think I'm ready for the Iron Man competition?"

"Ok, I think there were definitely side effects from that meteor," Hayley realized shaking her head, "we need to destroy that rock and get you guys back to normal."

"Huh?"

Ethan frowned looking lost.

"Side effects," Conner's interest peaked, "I find that highly improbable."

"Yeah, I feel like I could kick Mesogog's butt myself," Ethan agreed with nodded.

"I have to agree with McGeek," Jessica stated which got her a wounded look from Conner and a surprised look from Kira, Ethan, and Hayley.

Suddenly, the computer alarm went off making Hayley sigh as the image of the monster from earlier appeared onscreen as he sent small lasers blasts at the ground.

"That'll have to wait," Hayley told them, "look whose back."

She walked over to the computer while the others exchanged glances before dropping their books, off the shoulder bag, weights, and shopping bags onto the floor and standing in formation.

"Ready?" Conner asked hesitantly while Kira made sure that her headband was on properly.

"Ready!" Jessica, Ethan, and Kira agreed.

"DINO THUNDER, POWER UP! HA!" The Rangers were quick to morph into their Rangers form. "Dino Power!"

Downtown!

All four Rangers appeared as the creature was using it's power to blow things up as the civilizes ran away in fear.

"Let's devise a strategy of attack," Conner told the others as the creature turned to them.

"I've got a strategy," Ethan said as he popped his right hand knuckles, "we crush him."

"The lines on my suite are so completely wrong," Kira stated as she looked at her Ranger suite, "why doesn't anyone make superhero costumes for petites."

"Oh, just shut up already, Ford," Jessica groaned before she looked over at Conner, "and as for strategy McNuzer, I say, we humiliate him before destroying him."

"Colorful Earthlings," the thing said stopping all talking between the Rangers, "prepare to be destroy." "Huh?" "Oh."

Kira, Ethan, and Jessica all watched in surprise as Conner was knocked off his feet and onto the ground.

"That was uncall for," Conner told the monster before he looked at the Yellow Ranger and held out his hand, "Kira a hand?"

"I just know that I'm going to have the worst helmet hair after this," Kira stated completely ignoring Conner.

Before Jessica could say anything to Kira, the creature fired all three remaining standing Rangers and knocked them to the ground.

"Your no match for me silly suckers," the creature laughed at them, "later posers."

The Rangers were unable to stop the monster from leaving through the invisiportal.

"I told you that we should have thought this out," Conner informed his team.

"In my business," Ethan started as he looked at the Red Ranger, "you either go big or you go home."

"Well, I say we go to the mall," Kira told them.

"And I say, that you need to turn down the damn perky attitude of yours, Ford," Jessica growled at her.

"You are so rude."

"Fine."

"Later."

"Whatever."

All four Rangers turned away from each other and walked off.

Hayley's Cyberspace!

Jessica sat at a table with her green lap that had the Wind Ninja Academy symbol on the back that was costume built by Cam for her 17th birthday. The Green Ranger was trying to ignore the noise of Devin making noise along with the fan girls. She had a green video camera next to her that was hooked up to her lap. As she was going over a plan that was cause some kind of harmless trouble her morpher beeped along with the others making her groan before she packed up everything and took off.

Dino Lab!

Hayley worked on trying to find away to free Tommy from the amber and they were doing more scans on the rock before they both looked at each other and then beeped the Rangers.

"Hey guys," Hayley greeted as they walked in.

"What now?" Ethan snapped, "I was having a super intense work-out!"

"And I was right in the middle of a very compelling biography!" Conner added.

"I was in the mist of planning some fun," Jessica put in.

"Is this gonna involve dirt?: Kira inquired while grimacing, "cuz if it does, I'm gonna have to say: nuh-uh."

"Sorry we interrupted your busy day," Hayley snapped as she turned to face them, "I just thought you might like to know I think I've found a way to un-fossilize Dr Oliver."

"Yeah?"

"Really?"

"No way."

"Tell me, your not joking?"

All four teens were wide-eyed.

"The meteor fragment," Hayley elaborated, "my theory is that it frees your inner self. That's why you guys are acting so weird."

"Of course! If you could, harness its power you could, free Doctor Oliver from the inside-out!" Conner said as he smiled before pushing up his glasses, "although, I do take offense at being called weird."

"Sorry," Hayley apologized. "You're not being weird…it's just that the rock is allowing you to show a side of yourself that you don't usually show."

"A recessive personality trait!" Conner exclaimed in awe.

"You could say that," Hayley nodded, "like Conner; there's a part of you that's intelligent, studious. Ethan; there's a part of you that's athletic, even competitive, Kira, you have a part of you that's a fan of fashion while Jessica has a punk like trait..."

"So that's why Trent helped us?" Jessica asked, "there's still a part of him that's really good."

"I still don't got get any of these," Ethan stated.

"You don't have to," Hayley told him, "now just pull it together as a team. Trust me."

"That sounds logical," Conner said.

"Alright, here's what I need you to do..." Hayley started only to be caught by the computer's alarm, "oh, again?" Hayley turned to look at the computer to see the monster onscreen. "First things first."

Four of the Rangers nodded and dropped bags, books, off the shoulder bag, and weights before standing in formation.

"Ready?" Conner asked the other two as Kira made sure that her headband was on properly again.

"Ready!" Kira, Ethan, and Jessica agreed.

"DINO THUNDER, POWER UP! HA!"

Town Center!

"Being bad feels so good," the creature said before he was blasted from behind.

"Hey, mutant!" The monster turned to see the Rangers run up to face him.

"You again?" it asked.

"Thundermax Saber!" Conner called before he leapt into the air before attacking the creature with powerful attacks which knocked it back. "Most excellent."

"I got something for ya," Ethan stated.

"Wow," Kira said with a smile, "leave some for me."

"Don't forget about me," Jessica added with a cackle.

The three of them ran forward before jumping up into the air and landing kicks on the monster. Once they landed next to Conner, the four of them pulled out their blasters and pointed it at the creature.

"All together now," Kira told them, "fire."

As soon as the creature was back up, the Rangers all fired their blasters at him, but it only pushed him back before he fired at them knocking the Rangers to the ground.

"This creature leaves us no choice," Conner told his team.

"Super Dino Mode!" all four called as their suites changed, "Dino Rangers Rock!"

"Huh?"

The three primary Rangers then charged at the creature hitting him which had pushed him back before Jessica hit him with at least 30 arrows that she fired from her Para Bow. The three primary Rangers started to back flipped once the monster got up from the ground after Jessica attack and fired a blast at them before this all four of them attack him together before they stood together again.

"Let's put them together," Ethan suggested.

The Rangers all combined their weapons.

"Z-Rex Blaster!"

"Ready?"

"Fire!"

Jessica laughed as the monster blew up meaning that they had destroyed him.

"We rock."

"So fabulous."

"For once we agree."

"Good work team."

However, their victory was short lived when the monster reappeared bigger then before.

"I'm big and I'm back."

"It's Zord time."

Jessica watched from the ground as the three primaries formed the Thundersaurus MegaZord and started to fight the monster before she raised her morpher to her mouth.

"AnkyloZord," Jessica ordered.

The Zord joined up with the MegaZord before the three Rangers used as a shield from the monsters attacks. Jessica watched as the thing took off to get away before it ended up trapped between the Dino StegoZord, and what it had called the 'stupid MegaZord'.

"Going somewhere?" Trent asked

"It's Trent!" Jessica exclaimed happily, "he came to help us!"

The Dino StegoZord blasted its sword forward, and it smashed into the middle of the monster, causing a massive explosion of sparks. Using the Double Drill attack, the MegaZord swiftly stopped that, and in a huge explosion that passed between the two on-looking Zord formations, the monster was blown to pieces.

"I'm outta here," Trent stated, turning his Dino StegoZord away and walking off.

"Trent!" Jessica called from the ground, but she was ignored.

Jessica, Conner, Kira, and Ethan quickly left to take care of the rock so they could get Tommy back.

Reefside Woods!

The four Rangers rode up on their Rapter Cycles.

"Alright guys, lasers on full power," Conner reminded them.

"Fire!" all four Rangers yelled as they fired their lasers as once.

Once they had destroyed the rock, the four teens got off the cycles and ran over to the impact sight was.

"Do you think this is going to work?" Kira asked as Ethan picked one up.

"The components should still have enough residual power that can help Dr O," Ethan answered her.

"Dude, how do you know this stuff?" Conner asked.

"It's called education," Ethan answered once again with a smirk.

"Ok that was kind of brutal," Conner stated before he looked back at Ethan, "hey, you sound like the old Ethan."

"Hey, I do," Ethan agreed with a smile.

"Thank you," Kira thanked looking relieved, "one more minute at a shopping mall..."

Before the two boys could say anything Jessica jumped Kira, hugging the Yellow Ranger.

"I am so sorry for the mean things I've said Kira," she apologized.

Kira cackled a bit as she returned the hug.

"It's alright Jessica."

"Anyways, we should get this rock back to the lap," Conner stated.

With a nod from the other three once Jessica let Kira go before they left to head back.

Dino Lab!

"I'm assuming your all back to normal," Hayley stated once she noticed that Rangers where back in their normal clothes or in Jessica case shorts.

"Thank goodness," Conner said with a sigh as Hayley took the rock from Kira.

"I hear that."

"I can't believe I was hearing a skirt," Jessica stated in a horrified tone.

"That makes two of us," Kira agreed with her in an equally horrified tone.

"But, anyways," Jessica put in, "since the meteor changed Trent to good, couldn't we use it to fight the effects of the Dino Gem?"

"That might work," Hayley told her, "but, let's try this first."

They all walked over as Hayley put the what was left of the rock into the machine and turned on before they watched with held breaths as the amber began to dissolve. However, the machine blew making them all look over while Jessica took out the fragment.

"The rock...it's fried," Jessica cried in disbelief.

"Yeah, but look," Conner told her with a smile.

"It worked!" They all smiled at Tommy as they noticed he wasn't in the amber anymore.

"Dr O!" All five of them ran over to him happy to see him.

"Good job guys," Tommy told them, "Power Down!" Jessica raised an eyebrow when she noticed that Tommy was still in his Ranger Form. "Huh? I said Power Down!" Both the Green and Yellow Rangers shared a look before looking back at Tommy. "I think we might have a problem."
