[Chapter 13: Burning at Both Ends!]
Dino Lab!
The Rangers all stood together in Tommy's lab after having released him from the amber.
"Dr O..." Kira finally decided to break the silence in the lab, "I know that the suit looks good and all, but...quit kidding around?"
"I wish I could Kira," Tommy told her as he walked past them, "when Trent froze me in that amber some how my Dino Gem and my morpher must have remolecularized."
"In other words?" Conner asked.
"He's stuck in his Ranger Form Conner," Jessica answered this made everyone look over at her, "what?"
"How did you understand that?" Ethan asked.
Jessica roller her eyes before shaking her head.
"Because back when Lothor returned to Earth the Head Sensei of the Wind Ninja Academy got stuck in the form of a guinea pig," Jessica answered.
"Oh," Kira, Conner, and Ethan sounded while Hayley and Tommy cackled.
"Speaking of Trent," Hayley stopped laughing as she had looked the main computer, "looks like he's up to no good again."
"I am so over that poser," Conner growled.
"Go," Tommy told them, "I will stay here to see what we can figure out."
Conner nodded his head.
"Ready?"
"Ready!"
"Dino Thunder! Power Up! HA!" the four Rangers yelled before they quickly morphed, "Dino Power!"
MegaZord Fight!
"That's right," Trent said from the Dino StegaZord Formation, "you better run."
Trent cackled at the desecration before three of the 4 Rangers rod up on their Rapter Riders.
"Get out of there!"
"Stop!"
"That's enough!" Conner told them.
"I'm just getting started," Trent told them.
"It's Zord time," Conner said.
The BrachioZord came stomping by in response dropping off the four of the Zords and all of them quickly rushed together as did the Rangers while Jessica and her ParaZord took the Tyranno tail's place.
"Make your move," the White Ranger stated.
"Now what is he up to?" Ethan asked.
"I don't know," Kira answered, "but we have to stop them."
"I hate to do this to you," Trent chuckled, "it's Nothing personal."
The chain show out of the Dino StegaZord and wrapped around the MegaZord, immobilizing them as the struggled to break free.
"We need Dino Zord help!" Conner stated, pressing a button on his control panel.
"Perfect," the White Ranger grinned before drawing two circles of light with his weapon. "Containment fields, online."
Two balls of light rushed out to surround the CephalaZord and the DimetroZord, and quickly turned into barrels that trapped the two Auxiliary Zords. The Rangers gasped as they watched as their Zords struggled within the barrels, only their heads sticking out at the top.
"Our Dino Zords!" Conner called, "let them go!"
"Sorry, not going to happen," the White Ranger cackled.
"Trent, you've gotta stop this!" Jessica pleaded, "you're out of control!"
"Looks more like we're in control," Trent said.
"What's he going to do with them?" Ethan asked.
Trent grinned under his helmet before the MegaZords was blasted with an odd pink-maroon light that knocked it off balance. Inside the cockpit the three Primary and Green Rangers fell against their controls and by the time they looked up Zords and the Dino StegaZord had disappeared.
"Huh?"
Dino Lab!
"What's the situation Hayley?" Tommy asked as they all stood behind her while she worked.
"It's no good," Hayley answered, "he's got them in a force field."
"It's not Trent's fault," Jessica told Ethan who was looking at her, "the Gem's making him this way."
"I don't care whose fault it is," Conner spoke up making Jessica and Ethan to look at him, "we find away to deal with him or things are going to get ugly."
"Slow down," Tommy finally spoke, "I was in his shoes once. And I wouldn't be here today if my friends had given up on me."
"Ok, so we don't give up yet," Ethan said as he looked at Tommy, "what do we do?"
"Go back to school," Tommy answered, "keep a low profile. Hayley and I will let you know if anything changes."
The four Rangers turned around and walked out while demorphing along the way and they head off to school
On the way to school!
Conner was walking through town a long way he knew but he had no real hurry to get to school. No one else was in sight. When he stepped into a certain area, Trent came out from hiding against a concrete wall.
"You know, you shouldn't walk to school alone," Trent said stepping forward, "you never know who you might run into."
"How did you do that?" Conner asked.
"You didn't think you were the only one with dino gem power, did you?" Trent asked.
"I don't want to fight," Conner calmly stated.
"Well that makes one of us," Trent glared, "White Ranger. Dino Power. Bring it on."
"If that's how it has to be," Conner muttered as he tossed the soccer ball aside and also morphing. "Show me what you got!"
"No problem!" Trent agreed.
The two lunged forward as a battle began before the two of them summonsed their weapons, the Drago Sword and Thundermax saber.
"Let us help you?" Conner asked, "it doesn't have to be like this!"
The two Rangers locked their weapons together while Trent scoffed.
"I don't need help, least of all from you," he said.
"Fine, if that's how you want it to be!" Conner hissed and they broke away.
Trent chuckled as he slashed at Conner and he drew his laser gun as Conner drew his own Thundermax laser. They each paused and fired at each other, but it was Conner who fell, however, Trent went down shortly after. Zeltrax and Mesogog's newest monster appeared while they lay motionless next.
"Perfect timing!" the monster chanted, "should I infect them both?"
"No," Zeltrax stopped him as Conner slowly lifted his head, "just the white one."
Conner looked at the still morphed Trent before he watched helplessly as the monster fired yellow beams at the White Ranger. Trent lay on the ground, demorphed and moaning in pain.
"What have you done?" Conner yelled from where he was in a somewhat sitting position.
The two disappeared before an answer was given which allowed Conner to power down and went to help Trent stand up.
"Trent are you okay?" he asked.
"Better than okay," Trent said, "I'm me."
Trent smirked when Conner looked away to make a call.
Reefside High!
Jessica slowly bladed next to Kira and Ethan as they came upon the school.
"Hey, you three!" an all to familiar voice called making the three Rangers look over to see Randall, "I got an email from that science teacher of yours. He's claiming to be to sick to work."
Three Rangers went over to Randall trying to look innocent.
"Well, now that you mention it," Kira spoke up, "he really didn't see himself the last time I saw him."
"Yeah," both Jessica and Ethan agreed.
"Well, I better not find out that he's faking it or he can kiss his job good-bye," Randall told them before leaving.
"How can a human being be that cold?" Jessica asked looking confused.
"A model of warmth and sympathy," Kira stated.
Ethan tapped both Jessica and Kira on the shoulders making them to look over him before he pointed out Conner over at the bleachers.
"What's up?" Jessica asked as they got to Conner and followed him onto the bleachers.
"It's Trent," he stated, and Kira's and Jessica's eyes widened as did Ethan's.
"Now I know your crazy," Ethan said and Conner frowned at his friend and shook his head.
"C'mon, you've got to see this," Conner told them, "he's reformed."
He led them to a lower spot in the bleachers were Trent sat, staring downwards.
"Really?" Jessica asked smiling and Trent looks up at they approach. "Trent, are you in there?"
"Hey," he smiled, standing up, "it's really me."
"One of Mesogog's monster attacks backfired," Conner stated.
"I think it released the Dino Gem's hold," Trent added.
"That doesn't make a whole lot of sense." Ethan frowned.
"Guys, look," Trent sighed. "I am really sorry for everything we've done to you. You gotta believe it wasn't me. If there's anything I can do to make it up to you…"
"How about returning our Zords, for starters?" Ethan suggested.
"Right," Trent agreed, "meet me in the warehouse district this afternoon. I'll give you back your Zords, and I might have a little peace offering as well."
Mesogog's Lab!
"They took the pallid?" Mesogog asked.
"They took the bet and ran feed," Trent laughed as he walked over to Mesogog.
"Excellent."
"I did my part," Trent told him, "now you need to pay up."
"Of course," Mesogog agreed, "I never cheated allies."
"We're not allies," Trent informed, "it's like I said. You stretch my back and I'll stretch yours and then we'll go our separate ways that was the deal."
"Ah, yes," Mesogog agreed as Trent walked away.
Warehouse District!
Trent was setting on crates waiting for the other Rangers to show up beside something covered in a large white sheet. However, it wasn't long till the Rangers arrived on their Raptor Cycles with the Black Ranger. Trent smiled at them as they got off their Cycles though only Tommy and Jessica seemed a bit worried that it was a trap.
"Hey!" he called out, "over here!" All 5 Rangers meet in the middle.
"I hope you don't mind," Tommy said, "that I tagged along just in case."
"Dr Oliver," Trent with a pleasant smile, "your ok."
"More or less," Tommy said.
"I hate to get right to the point," Ethan said, "but I don't see any Zords around here."
"I thought we start with the peace offering that I promised first," Trent told him.
Trent walked over to the sheet which he pulled on it and it slipped away, revealing a Black Dino ATV.
"Whoa," Tommy breathed.
"Sweet," Ethan said in awe.
"I thought you guys could use the help against Mesogog," Trent told them, "who wants to try it out."
"Make way," Ethan said as he moved to walk forward.
"Sorry Ethan," Tommy told the Blue Ranger when stopped him, "I think it's better if I try it first."
"Oh man," Ethan groaned as Tommy walked over to the ATV.
"Nice," Tommy commented before he climbed on while Trent watched, "good work. 12-stroked engine?"
"Yeah, sure is," Trent answered.
"They don't make 12-stroked engines, Trent," Tommy told him.
"And Mesogog doesn't make monsters that turn people good, either," Trent said as he smirked.
"No!" the three primary and Green Rangers yelled.
Trent leaped over the ATV before he kicked it to life.
"It's a trap!" Tommy yelled as the ATV spun for a bit.
Soon enough the ATV shoots forwards, out of control. Kira, Conner, Jessica and Ethan leap out of the way as the ATV plunges through some boxes and out the doors of the warehouse.
"Dr. O!" Conner shouted before he looked at Trent with a glare under his helmet. "You'll pay for this." Trent sticks two fingers in his mouths and whistles before a White Dino ATV. "No way!"
"Later, suckers," Trent said as he jumped and morphed in the air.
Trent landed on his bikes before taking off after Tommy.
"Stop!" Conner yelled after them before he stopped by the monster from before.
"Not so fast!" the monster called it and Tyrannodrones appeared, "your not going anywhere!"
"Try and stop us," Conner told the thing, "come one guys.
The four Rangers ran back to their Rapter Cycles and hopped on before taking off to fight the monster and the Tyrannodrones.
"Right with ya."
"Yeah!"
Outside!
Tommy looks up as Trent follows on his own ATV, leaping over a parked car, and several boxes before they land and skids round to face Tommy.
"Time to go to work!" Tommy said.
Tommy draws his Brachio Staff again before he spins around as Trent speeds towards him, shooting him with the lasers on the front of his own White ATV.
"Fire!" Trent said before Tommy swerves, avoiding the shots, and shoots back at Trent. "Better run!" They pass each other, reach the edges of the car park, and spin around to face each other again, but Trent reaches down to adjust the controls on his ATV. "Laser fire, full power."
Tommy was able to avoid the blast with ease.
Warehouse District!
The four Rangers fought off the Tyrannodrones by fire their bikes lasers at them, but the monster blasted at Kira and Ethan knocking them off their bikes while their ride hit the barrier and sparks flew. Conner was the next one to get blasted off his bike while in mid air and just the other two bikes, his also sparked. Jessica pulled up next to the other three Rangers looking concern for them.
"Guys, are you alright?" she asked.
"We think so," Conner answered for them all.
As the other two walked up to them holding their sides.
"Conner."
"Are you alright?"
"Yeah."
"Is that all you got?" the monster asked.
"Super Dino Mode," the four Rangers called out as the lines on their suits became more pronounced.
"Super What?"
The four Rangers all rushed to attack Mesogog's freak and Tyrannodrones as the bad guys all rushed in. Conner was able to kick the creature and knock it to the ground while the others took on the Tyrannodrones. Jessica backed flipped over a Tyrannodrones and slashed her Thundermax Sabre at another one that appeared before her before she kicked back behind the Tyrannodrones she jumped over knocking both to the ground.
Outside!
"Come on," Tommy told them as Trent followed him.
"We're right behind you!" Trent stated as they all turned around to around to face each other. "You can run, but you can't hide." It was then that Trent started to open fire on Tommy who dodged them all before coming to a halt, but he did skid out of control before he got a hand on it again. "There's no escape. Turning bird."
They all turned around to around to face each other.
"Don't think I won't destroy you, Trent," Tommy told them as he revved up his ATV.
"Whatever you say old man," Trent countered as he, too, revved up his ATV.
"You asked for it," Tommy told him.
"Bring it," Trent taunted.
Trent and Tommy went at each other before the Black Ranger went off to help his team/students. Trent followed him wanting to see the damage.
Warehouse District!
Conner, Kira, Ethan, and Jessica had just finished off the last of the Tyrannodrones before turning to the creature.
"Three of their bikes are history," the monster told the Tyrannodrones, "we're through here. Bye."
However just before he could leave Tommy came in on the Black ATV and attacked him knocking the thing to the ground.
"Go Dr O."
"Talk about a wild ride," Tommy told them once he came to a stop.
"Your ok."
"Yeah."
"Letter days." They watched as the monster disappeared in an invisiportal just before Trent ride up.
"I see my friends have been keeping you busy," Trent chuckled as he climbed off and glancing at the three of the four Raptor Cycles strewn around the room. "Someone's been careless with their toys."
"You're making a mistake, Trent," Tommy started, "don't trust Mesogog."
"Who says I do?" Trent scoffed, "I got what we wanted. Good-bye Rangers."
Trent turned back to his ATV.
"What about our Zords?" Ethan asked
"Say good-bye to them, too," Trent answered
"Trent," Tommy called out to them as the evil ranger climbed onto his vehicle. "Don't do this?"
"I'm out of here," Trent said before he left.
Dino Lab!
"Can we go over this again?" Conner asked, "Trent makes a deal with Mesogog, pretending that Insectolite turn him back into himself as way for us to take the rigged ATV?"
"I can't believe that he made a deal with Mesogog," Kira sighed while she looked over at the Green Ranger who was setting on the steps to the Dino Lab with her helmet next to her looking down. "That's a new low."
"And risky," Ethan added, "Trent was suppose to beat us." He, too, could see how down the Green Ranger was. "Mesogog's not going to be happy."
"Lighting the candle at both ends the White Ranger is bond to get burn," Tommy told them just Kim walked into the Lab.
Tommy smiled under his helmet hoping that Kim might be able to lift Jessica's spirit with the whole evil White Ranger thing cause to him it seemed like that almost every female Ranger falls for the evil or use to be evil Ranger on the team.
"And I think I know how to get the fire going," Hayley told them as she looked over at them, "the ray used by Insectolite destroyed your energy shields, but I bet that you can get that creep to aim his energy buster at the Zords..."
"They could break through Trent's shield around them," Kim spoke up as she caught on to what Hayley was saying.
"Ok, just one small problem," Ethan spoke up, "how's Trent going to feel about this?"
"Every trap needs it's bait," Hayley told them.
With a nod of their heads the four Rangers all took off out of the Lab.
Outside of Warehouse District!
Kira, Conner, Jessica, Ethan, and Tommy walked through the warehouse district again looking for Trent.
"Trent!" Kira called, "where are you?"
"We gotta talk bro!" Conner said.
"Trent!"
"You made a deal with Mesogog, now it's time you made one with us," Tommy said
Trent appeared from out of nowhere still morphed White Ranger before he ran towards them in super speed, attacking with his Drago Sword. They were all knocked away, but Conner leaped to his feet right after, locking himself into a fight. While Conner was fighting Trent.
"You wanted to see me?" Trent asked as he and Conner where locked in combat.
"We wanted to make a little deal of our own," Conner answered.
"I don't make deals with posers," Trent stated.
"Take that back," Conner growled as the jab didn't set well with him, but Trent jumped up onto a higher high wall, looking down at them.
"You just won't learn will you?" Trent asked.
"Learn what?" Conner answered with a question.
"That the White Ranger always win," Trent answered before he left in a flash of color.
Once Trent left Tommy's morpher beeped making them all look over.
"Go," he told Hayley and Kim.
"It's working," Hayley stated.
"The Monster's back on the other side of the warehouse," Kim finished for her.
"Got it."
"Come on," Conner told them before they took off to around the Warehouse, "there he is."
"Huh?" the monster sounded as he turned around to look at them, "out of my way. I was sent to get the White one."
The five Rangers all got into a fighting stance ready to fight him before charging in and knocking him away as they regrouped.
"Sabres!" they all yelled as they pulled them out.
The creature blasted at them knocking the Rangers to ground, but Tommy just got back up.
"Brachio Staff! Energy Orb!" Tommy yelled as he moved his staff in a circle, "your going down!"
Energy Orb hit the monster making him stumble while the other Rangers stood up.
"Let's lend him a hand guys," Conner announced, "Tyranno Staff!"
"Tricia Shield!"
"Petra Grips!"
"Para Bow!"
The four Rangers all called onto their main weapons before attacking him sending him to the ground before the regrouped with Tommy.
"That got him."
"Yeah, now help me load him up," Tommy told them.
The four Rangers nodded their head before they all rushed over to Insectolite and restrain him.
Forest!
The White Ranger sat on his ATV looking at the Dino Zords the where able to capture.
"Looks like your friends are trying to save you," Trent snickered, "fools."
With the Rangers!
"Come on!" Conner yelled back at the Rangers rode their Rapter Riders.
"Hang on Zords!"
"We'll never make it!"
"We have to," Tommy told them.
Forest!
"Let me go," Insectolite yelled.
"This is your cue Insectolite," Tommy told him as he pulled him off of his ATV, "go on, do it."
The Monster was about to it, but he blasted in the back from them, this made the Black Ranger turned to see the White Ranger standing near, holding his Drago Sword.
"You're too late," Trent told him, "see ya."
Trent pointing at the Zords as he walked away as a huge explosion went off.
"Come on!" Conner called and all 5 Rangers stumbled over to where the explosion took place.
"Oh no!" Kira gasped, seeing that it was where their Zords had been.
"It can't be!" Tommy cried.
Smoke billowed out from the now empty barrels, and their breaths caught in their throats.
"They survived," Conner told them happily, but then the Rangers stumbled as the ground shook.
Frowning, the Rangers looked up to see the Dino StegaZord stomping towards them.
"Dino Zords," the White Ranger barked, "attack!""
Suddenly, against all odds, the CephalaZord and DimetroZord jumped back and joined with the Dino StegaZord making the excitement the Rangers had felt left them in a flash.
"Our Zords," Conner said in disbelief, "they switched teams."
"Another trick."
"I thought they would make a nice addition to my collection," Trent said in his voice smug.
"No way!" Kira replied.
"That's crazy," Ethan stated.
"The starfish device was just to re-program them to obey us," Trent finished.
"Your not going to get away with this," Tommy told them as he clinched his fist before raising his morpher. "Brachio!"
The three Rangers jumped up into their Zords cockpits before they came together while Tommy and Jessica watched from the side.
"Let's make them pay," Conner stated.
"You can't afford it," Trent chuckled as the Dino StegaZord Formation threw a punch at the MegaZord with the CephalaZord arm. Inside the Thundersaurus MegaZord's cockpit sparks flew and electricity fizzed all over the walls. "DimetroZord, Saw blade!"
Sustaining another attack, the MegaZord fell to the ground, smoking slightly.
"They're to powerful!" Kira cried out.
"Now you're beginning to get it," Trent told them while laughing evilly, "why don't you just surrender the rest of your Zords to me?"
"If you think we'd to that," Conner scoffed, "you're crazier than I thought."
"Then we'll take them," Trent said.
The Dino StegaZord marched forward, raising the DimetroZord blade again while the Rangers yelled for them to stop. Before Trent could land the hit, something slammed into him from behind and them to be knocked off-balance. Insectolite, now giant-sized, laughed.
"I'm back! And the master says he don't like being double crossed!"
"Out of my way, insect," Trent growled, powering up a huge attack from his Dino StegoZord before he ripped through the creature, and Insectolite fell to the ground, destroyed in one blow. "Another day, Rangers."
Trent and his Dino StegoZord disappeared.
Dino Lab!
"Trent's got some nerve," Kira groaned.
"Why can't he just give up?" Ethan asked.
"Good thing I never give up," Hayley told them as she walked up to them, "your bikes are fixed."
"Hayley, your the best."
"Just don't do it again ok?" Hayley asked making the three Primary Rangers to nod, "and as an add bonus, I've reprogrammed the ATV. Which should come in handy."
"We're going to need all the help we can get," Tommy told them, "with Trent and Mesogog teamed up for good, we're going to have real battle on our hands."
