Chapter 10: More Dreamers, and Memories of a Fox

Ichigo stretched as he walked out of his college building. "Kurosaki-kun!" he looked to his right and saw Orihime walking towards him, Rukia beside her. He waved and waited for them to get to him. "How was class?"

"Not bad we moved over to reptiles today. Other then that not much happened, besides the usual weirdness that comes with school. What about you?"

"Oh I have a night class tonight my sensei moved it since she wasn't feeling well this morning."

"That not good but why are you out here with Rukia?"

"Rukia-chan and I were heading to my new work place at a cafe! They have really good cakes and sweets! Oh you should come too they have this fantastic triple chocolate cake!" Orihime suggested excitedly.

"Chocolate...well...I guess I could spare sometime..."

"I honestly think that that is like your only weakness Ichigo." Rukia smirked getting a glare form the orange head. "Anyway let's go." Orihime led the way down a few streets. "Cute!"

"Great..." Ichigo groaned looking at the decor it was something that Yuzu would love but him...not so much. "Maybe just something to go..."

"Aw don't be like that! Come on I thought you were secure in your manliness!" Rukia teased him making him growl and of course give in. It made him feel better once he saw there were several other guys that looked like they had been dragged there as well. He gave them nods of sympathy which they all returned making him smirk at how oblivious all the girls were to their discomfort. "Let's sit in one of the booths." Rukia pulled them to one of the booths in the back. A girl came up and gave them the small menus while chatting with Orihime.

"They got a lot of chocolate stuff on here jeez." Ichigo commented drawing the girls attention. "Hm...that one looks good. I'll have that." he pointed at the picture smiling up at the girl who blushed and nodded before asking Orihime and Rukia what they wanted.

"You sly dog you." Rukia grinned.

"Huh?" Ichigo asked with a confused face "All I did was ask for the cake."

"Uh huh." he rolled his eyes at her unbelieving tone. He looked over at Orihime who was fidgeting.

"What's wrong Inoue?"

"I um ...it's nothing don't worry about it...I just can't stop thinking about this...never mind." She tried to wave off but the other two wouldn't have it.

"Orihime tell us we're your friends we'll listen." Rukia said.

"I will at least, Rukia has been having issues using her ears lately." Ichigo smirked.

"Oi I already apologized for that!"

"I know, I know I'm just teasing. But seriously Inoue what's wrong?"

"Nothing's wrong per say...it's just there's, I had a dream last night and I...I had it before once or twice and I don't normally get the same one twice..."

"What happened in it?" Ichigo asked ignoring the cake that had just been set before him but gave a small thanks to the girl that brought it out.

"Well I'm walking in this really pretty forest just humming to myself and I see something fall, it's small. I get closer and see it's an animal trying to get up. As I get closer I can see its a small little bat...but the weird thing is its the one from the zoo...well I guess its not that weird but still it's weird...that didn't make sense. But at the same time-"

"Inoue focus." Ichigo chuckled a bit.

"Right sorry. So I pick him up and he's hurt so I heal him then there's a light around him that's not from me and he...he turns into a person...one that looks a lot like..." she trailed off and looked down.

"Like Ulquiorra?" Ichigo asked and she looked up her eyes slightly wide as she nodded. "I wonder...Avilance perhaps..." he mumbled.

"Avilance?" both girls asked as Ichigo finally took a bite of his cake moaning at the taste.

"Mm~ this really is good. But yes Avilance… wonder if Rouzin managed to get out of the engagement I hope so...maybe tonight I'll find out."

"Ichigo, you aren't making much sense." Rukia huffed and Orihime just looked confused.

"Huh oh sorry, Rouzin, or me in the past, was supposed to get married to this girl named Avilance. Haven't seen her in any of the dreams yet but I do know that Rouzin was trying hard to get out of the engagement."

"Whats that got to do with this?" Rukia asked confused but he didn't answer as Orihime asked a question too.

"So you've been having dreams too Kurosaki-kun?"

"They aren't dreams Inoue, they're memories, of your past life." he said before taking another bite of cake, "Rukia and Renji just started having them too but I've been having them the longest."

"Really! Who have you seen?"

"Rukia, Renji, Urahara, Aizen, Grimmjow, Shiro not Toshiro mind you, Shiro was my inner hollow, and Ulquiorra." Ichigo named off those he had seen in the dream memories since his birthday.

"There weren't any girls in there asides from me though." Rukia said.

"So?"

"Who's this Avilance?"

"I told you just now that I haven't seen her yet. I have a hunch though but I'm not inclined to tell at the moment."

"A-Aizen?" Orihime asked.

"Yeah as wired as it was for me to find out turns out he was Rouzin's, past me's, father." her eyes got huge, "Yeah strange right...that makes three other people remembering. If you have any others like that you'll tell me right?" he asked her and she nodded.

"Ku-Kurosaki-kun...um why would...we be remembering things like that?"

"Because something is coming. Something from their time, our past's... If we don't remember we won't know what to do." he sighed "Only thing is I'm not even sure how much us remembering will do...Iizian and Eaitais were the ones to seal the things that are coming before I was...Rouzin was born so the only ones who would know are Aizen and Urahara." he ran a hand down his face sighing again "...I need to talk to him again. Thanks for the cake." he put some money on the table to help pay and stood leaving Rukia running after him.

"What do you mean talk to him again? Are talking about Aizen?"

"Yes. He's the only one who can remember fully right now and talk since he's not stuck as an animal." he said still walking towards Urahara's.

"Uhg...and how do you expect to talk to him exactly? He's locked up!"

"I know but...I need to somehow..."

'King.' Ichigo stopped short making Rukia run into his back he turned down a different road confusing her.

"Shi...Si'ine..."

'Come on! Run I can't come if the midgets with you!' he listened breaking into a full on run ignoring Rukia calling for him. 'Get somewhere you can see the sky.' Ichigo looked around and found a lowered fire escape and ran up it to the roof.

"Si'ine!" he called.

'Here' looking up what at first he thought was a wisp of cloud came into clearer view. It was Si'ine in his dragon form but he didn't look...solid.

"Why can I see through you?" he reached to touch the dragon's nose and was able to feel the soft fur there.

'This world doesn't have much magic in it, I'm a dragon I'm a magical being. I kinda require there to be magic.' he chuckled leaning into the touch. 'That's why the others can't change yet, they have to collect more magic from the sparse amount here.'

"So the same reason I couldn't talk to Iizian for long."

'Yes.'

"Why did he say it would be easier the more of us remember?"

'The more from our world of magic remember, the more magic will be able to slip from that world to this.' Si'ine explained.

"You're speaking normally." Ichigo laughed hugging the frosty dragon. "I missed you."

'I missed you too, I sound normal because I'm not actually speaking with my mouth I'm using a dragon's speech, you were half dragon and therefore understand since you have begun to remember so much.'

"How am I supposed to fight whatever is coming if I wasn't there to see how to stop them?"

'So that's why you want to talk with him?' Ichigo nodded. 'Makes sense but you can't yet...' He sighed shaking his head a bit.

"Where have you been?"

'Magic has been building in you since the moment you felt that we weren't gone, granted very freaking slowly but building none the less. That's where I've been, within that magic, it was only on your birthday that it was released enough for your memories to come rather then the calls of our magic, and for me to contact you better.'

"Damn this is sounding way more complicated then shinigami stuff..." Si'ine laughed and rubbed his head on Ichigo's chest. "You have to go now don't you?"

'Yes...don't worry about contacting him yet you'll find your answers in time...hopeful soon. Bye.' he faded from Ichigo's view just as Rukia climbed her way up onto the roof.

"Ichigo! What is wrong with you why'd you take off like tha- how the hell do you have frost on you in July?"

"Huh?" he looked down at his shirt to see a thin layer of frost there from where he had been touching Si'ine. He smiled and shrugged "Si'ine was here I was talking with him."

"Huh?" she looked at him utterly confused. "Si'ine...that's the...completely white person right?" She tried to remember.

"Yeah...he explained a little bit about stuff...come on I don't want to repeat myself let's go to Urahara's." she nodded and they headed back, Isshin and Renji were there too when they arrived and Ichigo was instantly brought into a tight hug by his father. "Um...Hi?"

"Kisuke showed me...the dreams you had last night..." he whispered "that you had to go through that...again..."

"Dad...I'm fine ok..." Ichigo said patting the older mans back. "I have something to tell Urahara though so I'd like to sit." Isshin let go of his son but sat next to him Rukia on his other side. Before he could say anything though Rukia asked,

"You dreamt again last night?"

"Yes, I saw how I first met Silane and Si'ine...and how my...Rouzin's mother died..." he said a weird look on his face. Rukia gasped and gave an apologetic look before giving a curious one. "I keep doing that don't I? Saying me or I when talking about Rouzin." he looked up at the others.

"You do, you also switch between using different names for the animals, mainly for our favorite blue kitty cat."

"I do?"

"Yes Captain, and Silane, you switch back and fourth without seeming to notice. When Clair's around you say Captain when she isn't you say Silane."

"huh...well anyway I saw Si'ine." Urahara leaned in listening as Ichigo retold about the magic and how it seemed to be affect those who had it and such. "Also Inoue seems to have started to remember as well."

"Really? Who do you think she was?"

"Avilance."

"You still haven't really said anything about her." Rukia said.

"Because I don't know much. As I have said to you three times now." he shrugged, "I know Rouzin was supposed to marry her and didn't want to because one of the others was in love with her and she with that person. But I've never seen her in the dreams so I can only guess. By the way Renji why are you here?"

"Well...I over heard Shuhei complaining about having a weird dream when Kensei asked him why he was so unfocused on work. I asked him about and he said he was with a group of people that were in uniforms but not shinigami attire and they were running real stealthily through a forest. They stopped he waved his hand and there was this weird light and he said he could feel his body shift. When he looked to the left and right the others were doing the same. He said from what he could tell he was a wolf and they were too."

"...Hm...shape shifter magic would be my best guess." Ichigo said scratching his head.

"Couldn't they have just been like Grimmjow?" Rukia asked but Ichigo shook his head.

"No they would have had the ears and tail of wolves then and I'm sure that's not something he would have missed. So I guess that adds him to our list as well."

"I told him about mine and said that Rukia had a weird one and you were having a bunch of them. And that if he got more he should talk to you about it." Renji explained Ichigo nodded. "How many do you think there will be?"

"Not a clue, your phone is ringing." Ichigo said to Urahara. The blond answered and the others waited Ichigo trying to get his dad to give him some space.

"Ichigo."

"Huh?"

"It's Clair-san she wants to know which of the other five she should bring, she can't bring Captain again."

"...Um...Kit. I'm curious." Urahara relayed the information then hung up.

"She'll be here in a few minutes."

"Why couldn't she bring Captain?"

"Apparently he's on timeout for lashing out at one of the handlers for no reason and not coming to see you is his punishment. She said when she told him that he sulked and whined and begged but when she didn't back down he slunk over to a corner and hasn't moved since."

"Haha the cat got put in timeout that's awesome!" Renji laughed but Ichigo was worried about why he had lashed out.

"I'm sure he was just agitated at not being able to do things on his own yet." Rukia tried to sooth the orange head. "It's probably getting irritating being stuck as a cat."

"Yeah...speaking of cats, where's Yoruichi?"

"Out." Urahara grinned.

"I don't want to know anymore." Ichigo shook his head. "I need to get some work done call me when dinners ready I'll try not to fall asleep before hand this time."

"We should head back Rukia." Renji said standing. "Later Ichigo." the two left.

An hour or two later Clair came over with Kit riding on her shoulder, "Where's Ichigo?" Urahara directed her back to his room. "I have a tiny fuzz ball to drop off." Kit hopped off her shoulder and pranced his way over to where Ichigo was sitting on his futon.

"Thanks...so any idea why Captain lashed out?"

"I think he's just worried about what's happening...with that animal collector and then whatever is going on with you. He seems frustrated." she told him leaning on the doorframe watching Kit get comfy on Ichigo's lap. "You should stop in tomorrow to see him I have a feeling it'll help sooth his nerves."

"I will thanks for helping out Clair."

"Of course." she smiled "well I'll be back for him in the morning." he nodded and she headed out as Tessia was on his way back to get Ichigo for dinner "You are huge jeez..." Ichigo laughed hearing her comment.

They ate dinner quietly Kit silently trying to beg for food but Ichigo ignored him he was not giving up his bacon to anyone. Afterwards he went back and did more schoolwork before deciding he'd finished the rest over the weekend. "Off my pillow." he shooed the fox so he could lay down. As he got under the covers Urahara came in turning the machine on. "Oof! Oi get off my head." he pulled Kit down next to him ignoring the yip he got for it. "Night." he closed his eyes and passed out.

"Kinarai!? Kinarai where is you?" little Rouzin called. 'This is probably before Silane came.'

"Over here." a whisper said from a crevice in the wall.

"Are you hidin' from Ziblan again?" Rouzin went over to the one that spoke. It was a boy that looked only slightly older with silver hair and fox eyes, ears and tail. 'Yep that's Gin.'

"Yeah...I know I need to learn all that stuff he and your papa are teaching me but he's sooooo boring." he drawled making Rouzin giggle.

"Kinarai get out here now!"

"Uh oh..."

"What do we do?"

"Hmmm hide in here next to me then when he walks by well make a break for it and go play outside." Kinarai said smiling.

"Okay!" the two boys squeezed themselves into the indent of the wall trying to stay out of sight. Ziblan came walking by calling out once more looking around but didn't see them, or so they thought as he passed and they made a break for it he turned and grabbed them both.

"Nice try Kinarai."

"Ahhhh~ come one can't I just play with him for a little bit?" Kinarai whined.

"Yeah just a little I'm bored! And there's no one else to play with!" Rouzin pouted at the teenage looking Ziblan. He sighed and set them down but held on to each of their hands.

"I know it's hard for you Rouzin only having Kinarai be close your age, but the things we are teaching him are very important."

"I know but...why can't we play just a little bit...there can't be that much you have to teach that he can't be a kid for a bit." He continued to pout his eyes big and pleading trying to get the older man to break.

"Yeah let me be a kid for a bit its not nice locking me up in that stupid room everyday all day!" Ziblan sighed again.

"Let them play till lunch time Ziblan."

"Eaitais!" Kinarai smiled.

"Uncle!" Rouzin cheered.

"But sir..."

"They are right keeping him a room all day isn't good for him. Let him get some fresh air once and awhile and he won't try to run off as much to do just that."

"I...yes sir." Ziblan relented and the two boys cheered.

"Go play you two."

"Bye!" they ran off Kinarai leading the way. The scene changed and the two were outside but Silane was there this time.

"Wow~ I can't believe you actually beat him by biting his neck hahahaha! And after he said it wouldn't work too! Hahahaha!" Kinarai was rolling on the grass holding his stomach as he laughed.

"Shut up Kinarai!" Silane growled. "Stupid noisy fox faced jerk..."

"How rude." he said but was still laughing Rouzin giggling as well. "So what shall we play? Since I have the whole day off from studying."

"What exactly do you study?" Silane asked curiously.

"This and that for the most part it's a secret, but some of it is different spells and such."

"ooo can you show us one!?" Rouzin asked excitedly.

"hm...I guess maybe a little one. I can summon a small ball of light watch." he mumbled a few words and held his hand out and sure enough an orb of light appeared. Rouzin cheered and Silane just huffed. "What not impressed?"

"Considering I can do that one, no not really." he held his hand out and a similar orb appeared.

"Yours is brighter how'd you do that and you didn't mumble anything either?" Rouzin asked confused.

"You haven't started magic lessons have you?" Silane asked and the youngest shook his head. "The better you are the bright it gets an if you get use it enough and get comfortable with it you don't need anything more then a thought to bring about the magic. My mother taught me this one."

"Well I only just learned it last week." Kinarai defended himself.

"I wanna learn it too!"

"No." both said.

"Why? Please show me please?" he begged sticking his lip out. After a few seconds of being stared down by the cuteness that was the little prince they caved and taught him the words for the spell. After a few try's to simply get the words right Rouzin held his hand out like they told him and focused.

"Imagine that you're holding the light there, and say the words." Kinarai told him.

"Kerina vish nivka." a small light showed up but then vanished making him pout. "grr...Kerina vish nivka." same thing. "Why isn't it working?"

"Because you're still young and haven't really ever felt your own magic before." Kinarai said patting his head.

"Felt my magic?"

"Yeah everyone's magic has a different feel to it."

"Does everyone have magic?"

"No not everyone. But most in the castle do. To feel your magic you have to look inside."

"Inside? Inside what?" Rouzin tiled his head.

"Here." Silane poked Rouzin's chest pushing him backwards "Yourself. It takes a bit to find some times."

"Oh...how do I look inside myself? That sounds weird."

"Close your eyes and let yourself drift of into your mind try not to think." Kinarai told him. Rouzin did as told, the two waited for a bit till the little boy sighed. "What's wrong?"

"I can't feel anything...or see anything..." he continued to pout "it's not fair."

"It's just because you're so young Rouzin."

"You aren't much older though!"

"Not in age no but in mind yes I am a good bit older, I'm a kitsune after all." Rouzin groaned and fell back into the grass. "Keep trying I'm sure you'll find it. Till then let's play a game how about..." the scene changed.

"Si'ine!" a ten year old Rouzin ran down the hall and jumped on the dragon boys back.

"yo."

"I'm bored."

"Shall we fin' a cer'ain fox and then play a prank on a cer'ain kitty?" he grinned and Rouzin gave one back letting go as the two ran down the hall. "Yo fox face. You up for playin' a prank?" Si'ine asked once they found him leaving the room he was studying in.

"When am I not? Who's the target today?"

"Silane." Rouzin said "We haven't pranked him in a bit."

"Ah I have just the thing. Follow me." the two younger boys followed him down the halls to Silane's room, they peeked in to find him napping on his bed. "Such a cat. Now here's what we'll do..." he whispered to both as the scene faded.

"KINARAI!" Silane yelled and the three laughed as they ran away from the door that was thrown open. He chased them down the hall "I'm going to kill you this time!"

"It wasn't just me! Si'ine and Rouzin asked for my help!"

"Si'ine suggested it first though!" Rouzin yelled over his shoulder.

"Way ta rat a guy out you losers!" Si'ine growled.

"Kinarai, Si'ine I'm going to wring both your necks. Rouzin I'll hand you over to your aunt!"

"Eek!" the three ran faster taking a sharp turn only to run into someone. "Zi-ziblan help he's going to kill us!" Rouzin grabbed hold off the man's leg as he hid behind him the other two following suit.

"Um..."

"Get out from behind him you cowards!" Silane yelled at them trying to get around to them.

"No!"

"Would you please stop running in circles around me. Now what is going on?"

"These stinkers played another prank on me in my own room! It's a complete mess because of them now! And I'm covered in who knows what!"

"And you three seriously thought that would be a good idea why?" Ziblan sighed.

"Well~ the wha' we did was Kin's idea so we jus' went wit' it. We jus' wan'ed to do somethin' to rile him up a bit, but this is a bit much." siine said.

"I didn't think he'd threaten to kill us for it." Kinarai shrugged.

"I'm not threatening, I am going to kill you!" Silane growled again his tail lashing angrily behind him.

"Silane go take a bath I will send a maid or two to clean your room you three however are coming with me." he grabbed the three younger boys shirts before they could run off and dragged them down the halls. "I really don't understand why ever since Si'ine came Rouzin you've seemed to be bent on irritating Silane."

"I don't know, but it's fun most of the time."

"Imma bad influence and there's nothin' anyone can do about it. cause they ain't takin' me 'way from King 'ere."

"I'm not king yet Si'ine." Rouzin laughed.

"Don't care."

Ziblan sighed "and you Si'ine why are you so bent on making his life difficult?"

"He's after somethin' I want and I won't let 'em have it. Simple as that."

"I'm not even going to bother asking you Kinarai as you seem to enjoy making anyone and everyone's life miserable with your pranks. Mine and the King's mainly..."

"That's because the two of you are prime targets!" he laughed.

"Rouzin, Si'ine, Canary, why are you being dragged by Ziblan?" Iizian asked coming up to them.

"kin-ar-ai get it right!" the fox boy growled.

"Of course." he smirked at the boy. "So going to answer?"

"We played a prank on Silane and he tried to kill us." Rouzin stated as if nothing was wrong. "Papa why don't you ever say his name right?"

"Don't I?" he asked with false innocence.

"It's your father childish payback for the pranks." Eaitais said with a grin as he came up alongside his brother who shrugged. "So another prank on Silane huh? Other then him trying to kill you how did it go?" the three started talking excitedly at once about what they did and how they went about it. "Hahaahahaha that's very good you are all very smart to think of such a thing!" he laughed.

"Sir I don't think you should be encouraging them in such a way." Ziblan sighed holding the bridge of his nose in irritation. Ichigo though couldn't help but smile at the whole situation.

"I have to say I agree," Iizian said but had a smirk on his face "though I also have to agree that it was clever. But! Try not to prank people to much the staff are getting tired of cleaning up after you guys."

"Ok! Can we go now?!" Rouzin asked.

"You can, and Kinarai can, but I'd like to speak with you Si'ine."

"Fine..." he grumped wanting to play.

"Later Si'ine!"

"Bye King."

"When did he start calling you that?" Kinarai asked after they turned down a hallway.

"About ... Two months ago I think."

"Why?"

"Don't know. So...what now?"

"Well...we could raid the kitchen for sweets." the two grinned and ran for the kitchen. Once more the scene faded and returned. Rouzin looked about fourteen now, he was laying in the grass as Kinarai came and laid next to him both looking up at the sky.

"You skipping class too?" Rouzin asked him.

"Yep. Why are you skipping I thought you like your classes with your Uncle?"

"I do but...Silane and Si'ine...I don't know what to do with them..." he sighed.

"What do you mean?"

"They have been taking classes too to work on their magic as well...but they keep..." he blushed and rolled away from his companion.

"Keep touchin' ya?"

"Yeah... I asked to be allowed to go to the bathroom and just came out here...I don't get it..."

"Get why they keep trying to touch ya?" Rouzin nodded "ever think maybe they like ya?"

Rouzin snorted "no...probably just another one of there stupid competitions...they haven't stopped trying to one up each other since they met." he sighed. "I don't get it."

"They're trying to get your attention." Kinarai said matter-of-factly. Rouzin sat up and just looked at him blankly.

"You are imagining things."

"You are in denial." The fox shrugged.

"We're all guys though!"

"So what! You are hot, why wouldn't they come after ya. Not me though, I got my eye on a fairy. She's beautiful!"

"Hmm...I still say it's not possible." Rouzin said laying back down watching the clouds.

"Think what you want but I know what I see, and I see them coming for ya."

"Huh?"

"King!"

"Rouz!"

"I found him first!"

"Did not we got here at the same time you moron! Besides I was the one that suggested he might be outside! So technically I found him!" Silane growled.

"You may have said outside but you wanted to check over near the training area I said he'd be out here though so I found him!" Si'ine growled back.

"Good grief why can't the two of you just get along!?" Rouzin yelled standing and glaring at them. "I don't know what the hell the problem is that you have with each other but you seriously need to work it out and fast because this is ridiculous and I'm getting tired of being in the middle of all your stupid fights! If you have to fight about something it better not be me again or I swear I will kick both of your asses so hard you won't sit for a week! I'm tired of this shit I've left the last three classes you two have been at cause I can't stand all the shit you too do!" he finished his rant a bit out of breath from yelling.

"Wow~" Kinarai mumbled at the shocked look on the twos faces, "Well I'm hungry how about you Rouzin?" he nodded with a sigh "To the kitchen then. Bye, bye you two." they left the two standing there confused. "Told ya they like ya."

"I'm not sure how that proves your point?"

"You must be blind." Kinarai sighed playfully. "They want you to acknowledge them, that's why they try to one up each other. Didn't you see their faces when you said it was both their fault you were upset? They looked horrified and extremely confused and disapointed. They don't want to be compared to the other because they want you to notice only them."

"Hm...whatever I'm hungry and I can't think on an empty stomach and lunch isn't for another two hours."

"Nice diversion tactic. But still you got to admit the signs are there. Ever since Si'ine showed up those two have been trying to keep you by their side and away from the other as much as possible."

"Can we please just drop it?" Rouzin whined.

"Fine, fine. But promise you'll actually keep your eyes open to all the possibilities? You'll begin seeing a lot more then you thought possible and not just with those two."

"Alright whatever I promise now let's find some food before the cooks come in and find us rooting." the scene faded out completely to black.

"Hm...hello?" Ichigo called looking around the black he was in, though he thought he could see some shapes here and there.

'Yo'

"Gin?"

'Yep! How are ya?'

"Ok I guess...the fairy you were talking about, that wouldn't happen to have been Rangiku would it?"

'Hmm I wonder. Grimm-kitty's been getting real antsy lately you should go to him when you wake up.'

"What's wrong that's making him so?"

'Not really sure I don't think it really has to do with any of this but I'm on the other side of the zoo I can't really go and talk with him that easily.'

"Could it have to do with that animal collector?"

'Animal collector?' Gin tilted his head confused.

"Yeah a guy wants to buy you all from the zoo."

'That may be it then...' he sighed 'Still you should go to him...Si'ine visited ya?'

"Huh yeah, how can you tell?"

'I smell his frost on ya. That's good if he was able ta visit that means magic is starting to come through more. Gotta go now bye, bye.'

"Bye."

"Well weren't you just the little trouble maker when you were small?" Urahara chuckled after Ichigo sat up and stretched with a yawn.

"It wasn't just me you know." he chuckled Kit shook his fur out and stretched as well. "I'm going to the zoo to see Silane. Gin said he was being really antsy."

"Alright, but after breakfast you can head there with Clair once she comes to get Kit." Urahara said as he stopped then smirked "that last bit was funny though."

"Uhg..." Ichigo groaned "Not gay..." Kit sneezed and shook his head hopping off his lap. "Oh really? And what pray tell makes you say other wise?" he just looked over his shoulder at Ichigo with his fox grin then continued walking towards the door. "Jerk." 'He may very well have a point though.' "You are no help at all." Ichigo growled at Zangetsu.

"Who isn't?" Urahara asked confused as he was opening the door.

"Zangetsu making comments." he waved off and grabbed some clothes so he could take a shower. When he came out Clair was once again there holding Kit. "Hey."

"Hey Urahara said you wanted to come see Cap." he nodded, "Ok come on." He grabbed the egg sandwich that was on his plate and followed her out to the lot in front of the shop where her car was. "Hop in." and they headed for the zoo. "I might be able to get you in for free since it's just Captain you're going for by saying you are in fact a zoologist in training and that you are doing a report...even though you already did one but we don't have to tell them that."

"Alright." he chuckled "You come in handy some times." he said to her as he ate.

"I am quite useful aren't I but only to the people I want to be so for. Others...I will drive them up a wall by making their words go in circles."

"Somehow I can see you doing that." they got out once they had reached the zoo and Clair sweet talked the manager into letting Ichigo in after a quick call to Atsuko.

"You wait up top I have Put him back in his habitat then have to get the keys from someone, I don't know who has them right now." Clair said as they headed for the jaguar habitat. Ichigo nodded and she went to find the key to let them in. He got there and leaned on the railing looking around, the cat wasn't on his rock.

"Probably still sulking." he leaned over the rail to look straight down better. "Yo Cap!" he said to the ball of fur tucked in the corner almost directly below him. He looked up and quickly stood giving off a meow. "Still sulking about being in time out?" that got him a growl, "it's your own fault you know," the cats ears went back in guilt. "just because you're worried, or frustrated doesn't give you the right to lash out like that." when he heard a whine he knew the message had got through, "Had her bring Kit last night, saw the prank we played on you when Rouzin was ten that you wanted to kill them for." Captain snorted then stretched and moved back out to his rock. "Fine be that way." he continued to watch him and the jaguars as he waited for Clair.

"Fascinating isn't he?" Ichigo jumped a bit at the voice the came up next to him. It was a male about his height so roughly 5' 11'' dark brown hair and dark green eyes.

"And you are?" he eyed the man warily, said man held out a hand and started to introduce himself.

"Vance Nickai," Ichigo was about to take his hand to shake but stopped at the next words "animal collector." he pulled his hand back gaining a confused look from the man.

"You're the one trying to buy him and the others from the zoo." Ichigo accused making the man laugh.

"I am so what? Why are you so bent out of shape about it?"

"If you buy them you'll take them away, no one else will ever be able to see them unless you let them. Bet you'll try to stick a pretty little collar on them all too and make them showcase pets." Ichigo said disgusted, he had never liked animal collectors there were very few he read about that didn't do what he just had said. "That's not why Clair brought them here, she wanted people to be able to enjoy their beauty and wildness anytime. You buy them the people lose that, and the animals lose the small freedom this place offers."

"You don't think much of me do you? I can assure you I have large areas of land for the animals to run happily around in, no collars or show casings either." The man tried to placate.

"Sure." Ichigo replied unbelievingly, he didn't like this man, not one bit didn't really even before he found out who he was. Instinct was saying he was bad news and Ichigo had learned a long time ago to listen to his instinct. He pulled out his phone and texted the guys name to Urahara maybe he'd be able to dig up some dirt on the man to be able to stop him.

"Ichigo I foun...you...what are you doing here?" she glared at the man.

"Just come to check on how the future additions to my home are doing. They'll be mine by tomorrow night after all." he gave a sickly sweet smile that screamed bad intentions to Ichigo.

"They aren't your yet." he growled "You have the keys then?" she nodded "Let's go."

"Where pray tell are you going?"

"Down there." they both pointed at the habitat. They left him there and went inside Ichigo making a beeline for Captain who was more then happy to let him get up on the rock and laid down across his legs again. Ichigo glanced up and was pleased to see the man glaring at him for being able to be so close to the cat and have it cuddle with him.

"He must have really missed you."

"Yeah, ooff." captain had squirmed his way up to lay on Ichigo's chest forcing him to lay flat. "Hi." Captain rubbed his head under his chin then paused and pulled back looking at him weird "I...met up with Si'ine yesterday." Ichigo ventured as to what was wrong. The cat laid back down with a huff. "What mad he could talk to me or something?" the giant furry head shook "Then what?" a whine, "You wish you could just talk to me is that it?" a nod "Eventually you will I'm sure. Shuhei and Inoue have started to remember too I'm sure there may be others that we don't know about as well. You'll be able to change in no time." Ichigo tried to encourage ignoring Clair's completely confused face. Captain nodded again sighing. "Oi don't you fall asleep on me! ...Damn..."

"Care to explain what you were talking about?" Ichigo shrugged he might as well he had told her everything else up till now. "Your life is very strange."

"Tell me about it...huh?" he reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone "Yeah what's up...what do you mean he's dead? How he's standing right up...ok." he pulled the phone away to look at a picture Urahara had just sent "That is not what this guy looks like… my height dark brown hair and dark green eyes...um slightly more bulk then me but not huge you saw Grimmjow once right? Yeah he's built like that... … … ...the f***er." He growled Captain looked up at him confused.

"Ichigo?"

"Hold on Urahara," he told the man on the other end before looking at Clair "Mr. animal collector Vance Nickai, yeah he's been dead these past ten years oh and to further that the guy was actually blond with brown eyes and was Australian...not sure how he got that name in Australia but hey not the point. He died while one an expedition. This guy on the other hand the one up there matches the description of one Lan Castrive a highly wanted poacher all around the world. I believe we just found our out." he grinned darkly, Captain growled with a cat like grin of his own.

"Well how about that." Clair said with a smirk, "We not only save these guys but catch ourselves a baddie. Let's go talk tithe man shall we...you can come too Captain just to make sure he doesn't run off anywhere." she pulled out her phone calling the head of the zoo telling him to come and why. "He'll call the police as he comes to us."

"Excuse me Vance I have a question?" Ichigo asked.

"I have one too why is he out here?"

"Mine first, what was it like living in Russia for most of your life?"

"Cold obviously but the scenery was nice I guess. I mean it is Russia."

"Russia oh I'm sorry I meant Australia, you know the place that Vance Nickai actually grew up in." Ichigo smirked at seeing the man's face pale then become enraged. He reached into his jacket but Captain pounced pinning his arm to his chest and him to the ground, "As for the answer to your question, well I'm sure you understand what with the giant cat now using you as a bed. I wouldn't suggest trying to move either he can get a bit bitty." He grinned.

"Damn it! You cost me a f***ing fortune kid I'll get you for this!"

"I doubt it as it seems the police are coming for you and Captain is more then capable of keeping you pinned there till they arrive. Ah-ah that's not nice you shouldn't dig knives into kitty cat's ribs." Ichigo said as he stomped on the arm that hadn't been pinned that had pulled a knife from the man's belt. The head showed up and Clair finished explaining and five or so minutes after that the police were there. "Ok Cap back off a bit keep his arm pinned till I can grab the gun from him."

"Hold on," one of the officers handed him a glove, "so your prints don't get on it." he nodded and took the gun from the curse spewing man. "Thank you, in here please." He held a bag out for Ichigo to put it in, "Is that his knife?"

"Yeah I stomped on his arm to get him to let go of it. All the way off Captain let them cuff him." Captain pranced over to Ichigo who gave him a good scratch behind his ears. "You did good."

"I kill ya for this! Ya f***ing brat! You hear me!? I'll-" the man's eyes rolled back in his head "hashrin vet fras." a creepy voice came from his mouth. All the police officers look terrified, Captain roared, Clair was extremely confused, and Ichigo got ready for what ever was happening. Suddenly dark particles flew at him from the man's shadow Captain roared again going to get in front of him to try and block it. Ichigo reacted not really knowing what he was doing but he did it anyway.

"Kerina vish nivka!" he threw a hand up as the words fell from his mouth and a large burst of light diminished the particles completely. He dropped to his knees suddenly very tired and leaned on Captain's back "I- I just used magic didn't I?" he asked and saw the cat nod before passing out.
