"I wonder what he was trying to tell me," Twilight Sparkle thought to herself as she was galloping very fast towards Sugar Cube Corner, "Never mind that, it might be serious; I just hope it's not too late for… whatever it is I'm racing to."

She got to the shop and quickly busted in. She looked around and didn't see anyone yet.

"Hello?! Where is every-pony?!"

"In here," shouted Mr. Cake's voice from the family room.

Twilight quickly came to the room only to see a badly injured Pinkie lying on the golden-yellow family couch that was smeared in blood.

"'Gasp!' Pinkie Pie"

"Hi, Twilight," said Pinkie rather weakly.

"Pinkie, what the hay happened to you?! Why is there blood all over that couch?!" She then turned around and noticed the nearby wall behind her where Pinkie was once hung against her will, "Why is there blood all over there?! And… 'Gasp! Where are the twins?

"They're upstairs;" said Mrs. Cake, "Hopefully both are asleep already." She cries a slight tear, "Oh my, I can't believe this is even happening."

"So what is happening," asked Twilight anxiously, "and who did this to you, Pinkie?!"

Pinkie looked at Twilight like the answer was obvious, "Gee, Twilight; Who do you think?"

Twilight's eyes widen a bit as she remembers one of the things Pinkie said to her a few days ago.

"First of all… I am not exaggeratating! I know exactly what I witnessed! Second, she was definitely mad at me for something; I could see it in her cold-blooded eyes. And she was playing no game I'll tell you that! And finally, she knew good and well how dangerous the situation was! She was practically aiming the sharp objects right at me! I'm telling you Twilight, SHE… IS… AFTER… MEEE!"

Twilight was almost afraid to ask, but she did anyway.

"Y-you mean… that it really was… Pumpkin."

"It's the truth dear," sighed Mrs. Cake, "I'm afraid that our little girl has turned into a little…" Mrs. Cake trembled a bit,"m-m-mooon-ster; a killer; a… murderer." She then buried her head into her husband's arms sobbing her eyes out.

"Why don't you have a seat Twilight," Mr. Cake suggested, "We can discuss this over some tea."

Twilight agreed.

Twilight couldn't believe the story the Cakes had told her; from Pinkie being weirder than usual, all the way to when they came back for their train tickets; only to find their daughter about to slaughter the pink pony.

"That's… awful. Who could have thought a filly whose Pumpkin's age could even think in such a way? It doesn't seem possible."

Mrs. Cake continued what they were talking about earlier, "I've already contacted Sapphire Shores and told her we had a bit of a… um, family crisis. Luckily, she understood and decided to move the banquet two days ahead. But, doesn't change the fact of what our real excuse is."

Mr. Cake took a sip of tea then spoke, "So how did you find out that something was going on here, Twilight?"

"It was Pinkie's alligator, Gummy. He came to my door and was trying to tell me something. I wasn't quite sure exactly what he was saying, but all he kept doing was continuously point in the direction of Sugar Cube Corner. So without any hesitation, I galloped here as fast as I could. He didn't come with me though; after he told me, he went off towards the direction of the Everfree Forest. Do you think he'll be okay on his own?"

Pinkie just smiled, "Oh don't worry about Gummy; he is a tough gator! He can take care of himself."

"Um… Pinkie," said Mrs. Cake, "I know I already said this, but I'm… I mean we're all very sorry we didn't believe you about all this. If only we did, we could've prevented you from getting like this."

Mr. Cake just finished bandaging the wounds on Pinkie.

"Oh, don't beat yourself over it, Mrs. Cake; if I were you, I wouldn't believe me either. I mean… a toddler murderer; that would be a riot, if I didn't know."

Twilight waited long enough; she wanted Pinkie to tell her everything she knew.

"So Pinkie, tell me; how did things get this way? Is there any reason behind all this that you know of? Any information can and will be useful."

Pinkie got into a comfortable sitting position and wondered, "Let me see. Well, Pound and Pumpkin actually used to get themselves into messes together. I didn't want to put any extra strain on you two," pointing at Mr. & Mrs. Cake, "so I decided to matters into my own hooves! I did everything I could to keep them from hurting themselves, or each other. I eventually got Pound to behave and listen to whatever I said. But Pumpkin, I seemed to have made no progress with her. In fact, she seemed to get worse in her mischief making. The more I told her no, the more she didn't listen, and the more rebellious she got. It eventually led up to that moment a few days ago when I claimed that she was playing with a knife and I told her to put it down. That's when she tried to attack me for the first time. The following days after that she tried more, but smaller attempts; and you guys didn't notice!"

"So why didn't tell us about it," asked Mr. Cake.

"Because, I was afraid if I continue claiming your daughter as a killer to you two, you might have gotten really mad with me, and put me in punishment; and you know I'm right."

Mr. and Mrs. Cake kind of sighed quietly to themselves, because they knew she was right.

"And that's all I can think to describe all of this. Any thought on it Twilight?"

"Interesting," said Twilight, "it has been said that Twins always seems to do everything together; and I mean everything. Maybe Pumpkin was a little upset over her brother breaking away from what they usually did together; the mischief I mean. She probably felt that you got rid of a piece of her life routine and wasn't being fair; so she eventually got fed up with it I guess."

"That still doesn't quite explain why she would want to kill Pinkie," said Mrs. Cake, "Being upset and spoiled is one thing, pissed off enough to kill some-pony is another!"

Twilight remembered her research that she did after her talk with Pinkie Pie a few days ago, "Well, after Pinkie was trying to warn me of all this, I did a little studying on behaviors and genetics outcomes of unicorns. We knew about Pumpkin's huge surge of her magic. The book says that the embodiment of a unicorn's energy is his or her magical abilities. Maybe her magic has something to do with her warped behavior."

The Cakes thought that maybe Twilight was onto something.

"That could be a reasonable explanation," said Mr. Cake, "I mean after all, she uses her magic to do things all the time."

"Only this time she used it to try and kill me," Pinkie said sarcastically.

They all slightly smiled and laughed a little; they did need it after all.

"However, there is another possibility of this whole outcome," stated Twilight.

"Well… what is it," asked Mrs. Cake nervously.

"It's quite possible that she has developed some kind of genetic disorder. It's not something that happens to ponies too often, but it seems to happen more frequently in unicorns; due to the affects of their magical properties."

"But what kind of disorder are we dealing with here," said Mrs. Cake.

"It might as well be… bi-polar."

Both Mr. and Mrs. Cake gasped in shock and horror! Could their filly child really have developed a bi-polar disorder?

"What's a bi-polar," wondered Pinkie

Twilight shook her head, "Some-pony who has a bi-polar genetic disorder has a completely different personality that he or she can find difficult to control. Some ponies can control it better than others; but if Pumpkin has it, then she probably has little to no control over it at all."

"I still don't quite get it," said Pinkie.

Twilight just rolled her eyes, "Let me put it to you this way, Pinkie. Remember when we decided to throw you surprise birthday party? During the whole time you were skeptic about neither of us wanted to attend to Gummy's… um, after-birthday party and you were worried that we didn't like your parties and that we wanted to disown you as a friend?"

"Oh yeah," said Pinkie, "then I got all sad and depressed, and then I decided that I didn't need you guys and threw a party with my own friends that I made up with lint, a flour bag, radishes, and rocks. I acted completely different than I originally was! I get it now!" Pinkie smiled at the thought that she figured out something that she didn't know before. "Who would've thought that Pumpkin and I shared a similar genetic disorder together; and I'm not even a unicorn!"

"Yeah, I don't think it's necessarily a good thing that you two share that same trait, Pinkie," stated Mr. Cake.

Twilight took a sip of tea to soothe her nerves before speaking again, "So what are you two going to do now that we have all witnessed this ourselves?"

"Well this situation is way out of our experience," Mrs. Cake responded, "So we were thinking about taking Pumpkin to the Ponyville Health & Care center. Perhaps they can find out her condition and what to do about it; not to mention getting some help for Pinkie."

Twilight nodded, "If you're going to it, it should be now. Who knows how long she'll stay innocent like this, now that she's been found out."

Suddenly, a loud wailing sound came from upstairs. It was obvious that it was the twins.

"What the hay," said Mr. Cake, "What's going on up there?! What are Pumpkin and Pound crying about now?!"

Twilight concentrated her magic on any life energy that was located upstairs. Her eyes suddenly widened, "I'm afraid only one of them is crying; the other one is… being silent."

"Oh Celestia," said Mrs. Cake with much dread, "Pound! We're coming sweetie!"

The Cakes started to head upstairs as fast as they could; with Twilight not far behind. She stopped for a second and faced Pinkie.

"Pinkie, you stay here. I'm pretty sure you'll be safer this way."

"Yeah yeah, I get it."

As Twilight went upstairs, Pinkie just laid back in boredom. How could she help in any way in the state she was in? However, that moment was interrupted when a sharp pain went through her head. She winced a bit while holding on to her head; then she heard a familiar voice speak in her mind.

"Piiiiiiiiinkie. Hee, hee."

She was frozen with fear just at the sound of it. What could Pumpkin be planning now?

Nearby the Everfree Forest, lies the cottage home of the shy and kind-hearted yellow Pegasus, Fluttershy; also the wielder of the element of kindness. We find her in her home doing what she always does best, taking care of her animal friends.

"Lunch time everybody! Make sure you eat every last bit, okay? That includes you too, Angel. We don't want to starve later, do we?"

Just then she heard a little rapid tap on her door. I sounded way too soft to be a pony.

"Oh, I wonder who that could be. I'm coming!"

She quickly flew over to the door and slowly opened it. When she looked down, she was met with wide and distinguished eyes of a familiar alligator.

"'Gasp!' Gu… Gummy?"
