So… his name is Sonic. The Prince of Et Smaragdus….

Amy thought about his name and it did fit the descriptions that her other described. It was elegant for Amy's taste oddly enough. She sighed and fixed her tiara then pushed the strand of pink quill behind her ear. She was thankful that she asked her mother whose name it was of the prince. Her father would usually or rather say always hide secrets to surprise her. She shook her head of the thought of even asking her father at first.

Amy had finally finished brushing her quills to maintain them by keeping them soft and smelling good. Sighing with content, she looks at herself in the mirror to over check how she looks; she nodded her head and finally left her bedroom to meet her father and mother downstairs. Right before she could even go, her helper stopped her.

"Morning, Princess Amy!" Katelyn greeted with a huge grin.

Amy's eyes widened and sighed. "Katelyn, what did I told you about calling me by fully?"

"Oops! S-Sorry, Princess Amy." she says it again and mentally faces palms.

Amy rolled her eyes and shook her head but ends up giggling at her reaction. "Anyway, Katelyn do you have anything to report to me?"

"Yes," she exclaims with a nod of her head. "Your father and mother are out today so they can set up the meeting with the Prince of Et Smaragdus!"

Amy's eyebrows rose as she cocked her head to the side with a confused look. "Oh, that's odd? I thought they already did."

"Nope, they just left ten minutes ago!" she exclaims once more.

Amy took in the information that Katelyn gave her and she nods her head fully. "Well, alright, Katelyn. Thank you for telling me, I appreciate it." She grins at her helper and sighed with content. Yet, the princess was still confused but she'll figure it out later when her parents come back.

"You're welcome, Prin-" she was cut off by the look Amy gave her and chuckled sheepishly. "You're welcome, Amy!" Katelyn sighed in relief and giggled at Amy, Amy giggled back. As for that, Katelyn cleared her throat and flattened out her quill that was sticking out.

"Anyway, Amy, there's breakfast waiting out for you. The chefs prepared your assorted fruit breakfast at your seat! I can take you there."

"No, it's fine, Katelyn. I can go there on my own. You can go ahead and finish off some other stuff you need to do around the manor." Amy grinned at Katelyn, she bowed at her.

"Oh, thank you, Amy! I appreciate it. Have a nice day!"

With that said and done, Katelyn left Amy and she giggled.

"She's something alright…." Amy mutters and walks off to the dining room to get to her breakfast.

As Amy started eating her breakfast, she was gratefully content with her food. She would always enjoy how the fruits were cut and especially how all of it was organic. She resumes eating her breakfast. Although, Amy's thoughts were still busy thinking about the prince her parents told about a couple of days ago. She stopped chewing and swallowed her grape slowly then sighed.

I'm wondering how long would it take for them to set up the meeting with the prince. I'm hoping for dear life it's not going to be something huge! Although, I know that the grand ball is going to happen….

After she thought about it, she shook her head at the thought. Amy would always stress out about it but she'll be fine, she hopes. Amy finally finishes her breakfast than finishes up drinking her water. She thanks the chefs for making her breakfast then walks off to the hall to go outside to her personal garden.

As the princess walks out to the garden she took a deep sniff of the fresh and sighs heavily with content. Amy always enjoyed the garden, specifically her garden. It was to her taste, the specific flowers she wanted to plant. She enjoyed all of it. She was raised around her garden and she was so thankful for it. Her mother and father made it first thing when she was born, Amy would go out here every single morning. She appreciates the squishy, damp grass that was soft against her bare feet. The morning dew made her feet tickle and she giggled about it. It was so good to her.

"Ah! The precious moments by my own in this garden… it's so good to me. I rather marry this garden than any prince!" she mutters to herself but ends up giggling bubbly at thought of marrying a garden. She thought it was childish, but it couldn't be helped. The princess sighs with content and resumes strolling along the garden.

When Amy was walking around, she ends up stopping at a specific place. She remembered the spot where she got lost when she was younger. It was quite nostalgic for the young princess. She shook her head and it felt like it was just yesterday that the suitors were calling for her. Although, she also remembers how she found those mysterious looking hedgehogs fighting near. She knew there was another kingdom not so far from her own, but her parents never talk or mentions to them.

"That was a strange day," she recalls. "I still have the rose that he gave me… it's in the vase next to my mirror." Amy's voice died off and she was spacing out as she was remembering how she were when she was twelve. She couldn't help but giggle how naïve she was. Sighing at the thoughts, she shook her head lightly and resumes walking around the garden and admiring the scenery before her.

"I'm pretty sure my parents are on their way home. They did tell me that the prince accepted the call or rather say the grand ball." Amy fiddles with her thumbs and plays with the white gloves. She purses her lips in a firm line and licks her bottom lips. "Well, yeah, they should." After reassuring herself, she decided to walk back inside the manor to wait for her parents to get back.

After Amy came back inside, she was shocked that the first thing she seen was her parents standing right before her. Her jade eyes widened and a small grin formed on her lips.

"Mother and father, how was the trip to Et Smaragdus?" she exclaims with widened eyes.

Her parents greeted back with grins. "It was wonderful, Amy! The prince was so nice, especially his chivalry! He treats me better than your father." Ania giggled and playfully hits her husband's arm. Axel shook his head but laughs.

"That's not true, Amy. Rather say that he was really polite and he was extremely handsome when we met him. His parents were the exact same!" Axel claps his hands together and sighed with content. Ania did the same too.

"Amy, I promise you're going to enjoy the grand ball with Prince Sonic! You two are going to be the best of taking the two kingdoms in hand especially having children. You know your mother want some grandchildren." Ania laughed and Amy chuckles nervously but joined so her parents wouldn't be concerned.

"Why yes, mother. I know in fact you do!"

Ania nodded her head in agreement and Axel was kept quiet as the two were staring at each other. Although Amy did wonder what the theme of the grand ball was going to be so she might as well ask her parents before they leave.

"So, mother and father, what's theme for the grand ball this time?"

Axel looks at Amy then realized what she said, so did Ania. "Oh, honey, the theme is simply masquerade!" Axel laughed and did a mask thing with his hands to show Amy.

Amy's eyes widened and her mother nodded her head with excitement then grins brightly. "Yes, it shall be masquerade! Your father and I chose the theme because it simply adds curiosity and excitement to thrill for the grand ball!"

Amy raised a brow but slowly nods her head so she knows what they meant. Her father then chimed in.

"That's exactly why the reason we chose the theme, Amy! The prince agreed to theme since he never really enjoyed the other masquerades he been to. So, he's hoping that this masquerade is going to be the best! Especially since he's going to be dancing with the princess, which is you!"

Axel linked his arms with Ania's and the both enjoyed the information they were giving to their daughter. They both knew she wanted to know the whole thing so no problems weren't going to happen to Amy.

"Ah, well, okay… thank you for telling me in advance." Amy grins softly at her parents. She knew the two were going to have a blast at the grand ball. The princess sighed and nodded her head in agreement.

"You're welcome, sweetie! Is there anything you need to know?" her mother asks.

"No, I'm positive."

"You sure?" her father then asks this time.

Amy shook her head no and her parents stopped asking. "Anyway, the grand ball is going to be tomorrow. The suitors and the servants are already getting the place set for tomorrow. That's also going to be the day you'll meet your true prince!"

Amy listened to her mother and her father joined in also. "So, yes, you should might as well get your dress picked and the servants are going to give you a mask custom so the prince knows who he is meeting."

Amy sighed and looks down at her feet for a moment. "Thank you for telling me." She was a little disappointed that the grand ball was going to be tomorrow. She didn't enjoy that. Amy was hoping that the grand ball would be later on during the week, not tomorrow! Amy rubbed her temples and pinched the bridge of her nose. Her mother gave Amy a confused look and hope Amy was alright.

"You okay, darling?" she asks.

"I'm fine, mother."

"Well, okay… your father and I are going to be on our way to check up on the place for tomorrow."

"Bye mother and father."

They both waved at each other and went their own separate ways. Amy couldn't help but to have a headache because the grand ball was tomorrow. She sighed with annoyance. Amy really didn't appreciate that her parents rushes things and really weren't concerned how she felt. The last time she met up with a prince from a different kingdom, they got into an argument and her own father went against her then punished her. She hated that day and didn't want to think about it. Amy never went back against what her parents put her through because she doesn't want to be punished or lose her privileges. Amy shook her head and rubbed her eyes. She knows she's not going to have a good night's rest today.

"If they only knew how I actually felt about this whole day. I really don't agree to none of this." she mumbles to herself then frowns about it. Amy ran her hand through her quills and ends up walking upstairs to go in her room.

Amy opened up the door to her bedroom and locks it behind so she could have some privacy to herself for the rest of the day. Amy takes off her tiara and places it on its case; she walks towards her bed and finally lays on it. She puffed out her cheeks with annoyance and gripped the side of her blankets until her knuckles turned white. Nothing was going great for the hedgehog princess. She really didn't appreciate any of this. It wasn't fair for her so she just has to deal with it and just go with the flow. Amy was only an eighteen year old that really can't make any of her own decisions since her parents think she's still a child. Not so long ago, her parents gave her a lecture of why they're doing this and they just said it was love. Amy thought it was lies, everything they say to her is a lie so she just wings it from the information they give to her.

Amy groaned out with anger and she puffed out her cheeks once more and sighs heavily through her nose. She really knows she isn't going to enjoy none of this. She's going to hate then she's going to ruin tomorrow night. If she does, then her father is going to lecture her why she doesn't appreciate any of the things. Amy really does not want to hear any of that so she might as well go through the flow and just see what happens tomorrow night.

"All of this is crap; I don't want to do nothing. I absolutely don't agree to none. I hate this." Amy closed her eyes for a moment and opens them. She pushes herself off the bed and stretches out her arms. She might as well do something productive than loathe around all day. She doesn't want to waste this perfect, last day being a single princess.

Amy actually enjoyed being single. She just loves how she doesn't need to depend on a man so she could feel full. She knows that she can take care of her own kingdom whenever her parents pass on. Her parents don't agree though. Her parents' wants to make sure that she has a prince before one of them passes on. Amy rolled her eyes at those thoughts.

Sighing with distress, she walks around her room for a bit to get the blood flowing through her legs and such. As so, a black petal on the floor caught her attention.

"What the….?" she bends down her knees for a bit and picks up the petal. She looks at with a confuse daze and hummed. Amy analyzed it for a bit and notices that it was the same group of roses that she had when she younger. She places it back on its vase and sighed. She remembered that she gave a certain rose of that color to another hedgehog that was her age. She even remembered the names. Although she was quite sad because when she was young she would go to that same spot everyday where she met them but they would never be there. She pouted at the thought and sighed. She was hoping she'll meet the two hedgehogs again.

Although not so long ago, the oldest sibling did died from a battle wound when he went to war. Amy mourned and it seems that it was just yesterday. Her parents told her the news but she made sure she didn't show any emotions about it. It was in the newspapers and her parents were quite shocked but didn't seem to care. Amy hated that.

After she thought about those, she ended up thinking about the hedgehog. She wondered if the youngest one was the prince, but of course the next king to the throne. She felt sad for him because he lost a sibling, especially a brother. Sometimes Amy wished she had a younger sibling. Her parents just didn't want another child. She didn't know why, she thought it was weird.

Amy thought everything was weird.
