I DO NOT OWN SONIC, SEGA, AND THE OCS I USE IN THIS STORY
Please enjoy this chapter and don't forget to review, thanks!
Amy quickly turned around and was now faced with the blue prince. She was caught off guard with how fast he came with the drinks.
"Oh, I-I was just sitting down for a moment. My feet is quite tired from all that dancing! I apologize for not returning sooner, Princess Amy." Sonic sighed and held up the glass to her for her to take.
Amy took the glass from him and mentally narrowed her eyes in suspicion. He shrugged his shoulders and nodded his head slowly. The young prince took a sip of the champagne and sighed out. He was enjoying the night as well with the princess.
"Thank you, and yeah you're right about the dancing. I might as well rest my feet too," she sighed and sat down next to him.
He didn't know what was going on with Amy's mind, he was hoping she was enjoying the night too. He placed his glass down and gazed at her face, even though it was covered up with the mask.
"So, do you enjoy this night, Princess Amy? What's going on in your mind, what you're thinking about?"
Amy wasn't really paying no mind to the prince that was next to her, her mind was boggling about the mysterious hedgehog that came to her. She blinked her eyes for a couple minutes trying to register what the prince had just asked her. There was really nothing on her mind, only Shadow. She sighed and decided to answer him anyway.
"I'm not sure, honestly. I'm enjoying this ball and I'm thinking about other things too... has nothing to do you with you though, something else really." The princess bit her bottom lip and was staring at the prince, looking into his emerald gaze.
The prince looked quite offended at her response, he felt that he wasn't that intriguing enough for the princess. He wanted to leave a really good impression on Amy so she would marry him. Sonic sighed and fixed his mask a bit since it was slipping off his face.
"Well, that sounds great, I guess. How about we resume our dancing and enjoy the other's company?" he asked with a raised brow. He was hoping she would agree with him.
"Hm, I don't know. I'm quite worn out honestly from all the dancing and getting ready. Thank you for the suggestion, I'm sorry." Amy slowly gazed upon the azure prince and knew that he was disappointed because of the way he just sighed and his gaze lowered.
"Oh... alright, I understand, Princess Amy. I was just hoping, well, do you want to grab something to eat? I can order the servants to serve us some dinner and we can rest for the night. How about that instead?" Sonic was definitely hoping the plan would go through with her, he just really wants to leave a good impression on her.
Amy sighed through her nose and thought about it for a bit. She was quite hungry actually and drinking alcoholic beverages weren't going to do well with her empty stomach. She nodded her head in agreement.
"Sure, I'll accompany you with that. Let's grab something to eat, shall we?"
"Yeah, let's go get some."
The prince stood up first and let his hand out for Amy to grab and she did. She slowly got up because she didn't want her dress to be caught on something. The young, royal couple soon left to order their meal from the servants.
The scenery of the grand ball was still magnificent because of how decorative it was, the musicians playing music nonstop, and the food being laid out along with how the beverages were displayed so well. The guests were dancing quietly and such, enjoying each other's company. Everything about the grand ball was going swell, Amy's parents enjoyed that the most. It seemed like that nothing can't ruin this good night.
"Axel, our darling daughter is enjoying this splendid night," Ania piped in as she was rubbing her hand with his.
Axel grinned brightly and looked at his wife, she was right and agreed with her. "Why yes, Ania, she is enjoying this night. It's so obvious that the Prince of Et Smaragdus is an excellent quality of a prince. It seems like you can only get a prince like him once in a life time!"
Axel chortle and shook his head and gazed back at his wife. He was so happy for his daughter and was going to be more excited when his daughter and the prince tie the bonds to be a power couple for both kingdoms. Axel sighed dreamily when he thought about that day and can't wait, his wife was along with him as well.
Ania glanced at her husband and chuckled along with him, she nodded her head. "Hah, why yes... I'm glad for our daughter. She will not take this day in vain and will not take it for granted, you can tell by her actions. She's clearly enjoying the night."
Ania and Axel both nodded their heads in agreement and leaned their heads together as they watched their daughter eating with Sonic. They felt good about their selves because they made this night go well with all the planning and such. The royal couple soon sighed together in content and resumed enjoying their selves as the night goes on.
"This steak is so good! I can't believe your chefs know how to cook so well, Princess Amy!" Sonic swallowed his piece and wiped his mouth with a cloth. He was really appreciating how good the meal was to him and he soon finished the last piece of it with his final bite. Sonic placed his eating utensils on the plate and reached for his glass of wine to sip on. He sighed in content and smiled brightly at the Princess that was across from him.
Amy only took small bites from her steak since she could easily get full off from a couple of bites. She nodded in acknowledgement to what Sonic had said. She too placed her eating utensils on her plate signaling that she was finished with her meal.
"I agree with you, my chefs did a good job on the meal. They always do an excellent job, I appreciate it." Amy smiled and wiped the corners of her mouth and took a small sip from her red wine. She was enjoying the night with the young prince. She wasn't really falling for him because they just met and no true feelings about him weren't formed yet.
Amy signal the servants over that they were finished and they soon came to their way quickly. Amy stood up from her seat slowly once again and saw Sonic getting up from his seat as well. She knew the ball was coming to an end because the people stopped dancing, but they were just eating and resting. She glanced at the huge clock on the wall and it read '11:48PM', it was going to end at midnight. The princess walked up to prince and he gladly wrapped his self on her in a hug. She didn't mind it all and she hugged him one more time.
The two were enjoying each other's embrace and was in complete silence once again. The young prince decided to break the silence.
"Princess Amy, would you enjoy me with one more last dance before we apart soon?"
Amy pulled herself back just a bit to look at the handsome prince and she couldn't resist saying 'no'. She nodded her head and decided to dance with him just for one last time before the grand ball ended.
"Sure."
Sonic grinned brightly and took her along the dancefloor. He signaled the musicians to play a song and they obliged to do so. The music started playing and the two began dancing in rhythm, not missing a beat.
The whole crowd were watching the two dance together and was clapping, applauding them since they were doing a great job at the dancing. Sonic loved the attention but he put his attention the princess that was in his hands.
Amy couldn't help but smile along with him, she was enjoying the dancing quite well. She sighed with content and resumed the dancing routine that just came out naturally. She was going to recall this night later on and was so glad with it. She was glad that the night went well and so she can feel comfortable about it. She appreciated this a lot, she probably might have second thoughts about the handsome, blue hedgehog.
"I appreciate your company, Prince Sonic..." Amy softly said.
Sonic was quite in a daze and caught on what she said and nodded. "Yeah... I do as well, princess. I really appreciate you and how beautiful you are. This feels like a dream, so surreal... although it's really real. Thank you."
Amy had a faint blush upon her cheeks and began stopping the dancing slowly to an end. Sonic did too and they both stopped. Sonic took the final time just to appreciate the features of what Amy had, especially those jade eyes that popped out of her mask. He sighed dreamily and was looking at her, he wants to be her prince.
Amy looked back at Sonic and her blush was still, she gave his hand a light grip and pulled her hand back to her side. She listened to his gratitude and nodded her head.
"You're welcome, Prince Sonic. I'm glad I spent this night with you and it was perfect." Amy glanced at him and back at the clock for a moment. She sighed and fixated her gaze back on him, she frowned a bit because the ball is now over.
Amy took a step back from the prince and bowed herself in a courteous manner. Sonic had a small frown as well, but he bowed down too.
"I guess this where we apart for the rest of the night. I thank you once more, good night." Sonic finally revealed his face and took off his mask, as he did that Amy gasped silently. Her parents were definitely right about how ravishingly handsome the prince was. She thanked her parents for finding out about him.
His face was chiseled, his piercing green eyes outshined almost anything, his quills cut at shoulder length as they barely touched his shoulders. His face was all what Amy dreamed of and it made her heart beat any faster than it could before. She was so close to of almost fainting because Sonics' face was what's throwing her off and she liked it. Amy couldn't believe that she was almost falling for a guy she'd just met. She thought it was ridiculous but it seems that her brain wouldn't cooperate with her this time.
Sonic chuckled softly and bowed once more, he knows that Amy is drooling over his face. Sonic knows that his self is good looking, he smirked.
"Well, it seems that the princess is out of it. Do I need to restart her heart?"
Amy shook her head out of embarrassment and giggled softly to herself. She sighed and composed herself to look better.
"N-No, you don't have to do that, Prince Sonic. I appreciate your kindness," she laughed a bit more.
The two hedgehogs were laughing at each other for a moment and it soon died off, they both sighed again and looked at each other. Amy still hadn't revealed her face yet, but she was now.
Amy stood up straight, her dainty fingers slipped under the straps of the mask and she slowly lift it up as the mask itself was too. Her eyes were closed and she finally pulled the mask off her face, she opened up her eyes and grinned.
"Well, this is me, I suppose."
Sonic was speechless, he couldn't think of anything and his eyes were so wide. He had to do a double take just make sure he was awake. He couldn't believe that he finally got to see the princess' face. His throat went dry and his heart was beating fast, too fast.
"I-I-I... you l-look so g-gorgeous... I'm in awe..." he was breathless.
Amy blushed a bit and giggled at his reaction, Katelyn was right all along, she had to thank her whenever she got the chance to see her again. Amy mentally shook her head because she thought it was silly. She doesn't feel that beautiful, she just thinks that she's just average looking with a ton of make up. She sighed and placed a hand on her hip.
"I appreciate your kind words, thank you."
"N-No problems..."
Amy shook her head and laughed a little, she fixated her gaze at the prince and back at the clock. She needed to go because she was tired and didn't feel like doing anything else. Sonic finally snapped his self out his daydream and knew it was the end. He had to go back to his kingdom and report back what happened at the grand ball. Sonic shoved his left hand in his pocket and slouched a bit in his posture.
"Well, I should get going now, my family is probably waiting for me. I did enjoyed spending this night with you, take care, Princess Amy."
Sonic sighed with content, walked towards Amy, and he bend down then he pressed a small kiss on her forehead. He pulled his self back and grinned a little.
Amy was in complete shock and wasn't expecting anything like that, especially when they'd just met. She was frozen and her heartbeat went in a frenzy once more, she actually liked it.
"T-Take care, Pr-Prince Sonic..." she softly whispered.
Sonic chuckled lightly and he said his final good-bye, then he finally had walked off the dancefloor and went outside for his ride.
Amy watched him go as he finally was out of her sight. She let out a breath and brought her hands up to her face and smiled wearily. She didn't know what to say and what was going to happen the next day. She soon started walking off the dancefloor and was going upstairs to her room to go to sleep. She knew her parents were watching her the whole time, she sneered at the thought and shrugged her shoulders.
"What a night Amy, what a night..." she said to herself.
Amy shook her head and thanked the servants that were cleaning up the mess and such. The whole place was empty and she didn't realized that it was empty until she saw Sonic left. She thought it was strange but she pushed it to the side to think about later.
As Amy made her way to the other room, her parents soon stopped her in her tracks and made her jump in a bit shock. She mentally dreaded because she didn't feel like talking to her parents, but it's too late.
The first thing she saw on her parents' faces was a huge grin, it creeped Amy out a bit.
"Oh my gosh, Amy! How did everything go? Did you enjoyed your time with the prince? Did you do that you were supposed to?" Ania started bombarding her with questions and Amy sighed with distressed.
Axel was grinning and nodding along with his wife, they were too excited to hear what Amy had to say.
Amy rubbed her shoulder and shrugged, she didn't want to answer until she felt like it. She had to dodge what her parents for the rest of the night.
"I'm sorry to say this, but mother and father, may I please rest for the night? It's so late and I really can't muster anything right now, a lot had happened," Amy pleaded.
Ania and Axel were both in shock and looked at each other for a brief moment, her mother nodded her head slowly, she sighed in defeat. Amy was right, they should let her rest.
"O-Okay, you're right, you should rest for the night. I apologize for asking already, Axel let's go rest for the night as well."
Axel nodded his head in agreement and sighed as well. He looked at Amy and grinned, he walked towards her and gave her a small hug.
"Thank you, Amy."
Amy sighed and hugged her father back, "No problem, dad."
Her parents blessed her a goodnight and finally left to their room. Amy sighed in relief and wiped her brow, she was so lucky that she got away from her parents. Her mind was going in a frenzy because so much happened tonight and she just wanted to rest.
"Thank goodness... I need to rest..." Amy shook her head and slouched her shoulders. She wanted to take a shower and go to sleep. Her body felt like lead, she was too tired.
As Amy made her way up to her room finally, she opened up the door and turned on the light. She was in peace, her sancutary, she can finally rest.
Amy removed her tiara and placed on its case as she then started unclipping the stuff from her quills. She looked at herself in the mirror and stared herself for a moment then resumed what she was doing. She then went on to undress herself, she soon left off to take a shower.
Right when Amy left off to the bathroom, the same mysterious figure made its way through the guards and such. He sat right on the window sill, he was waiting for the princess to come out. He wanted to talk to her about something, but he couldn't because that prince almost caught him.
Shadow was in his sleeping clothes which was just a simple white shirt and black pants. He was quite cold but he didn't let it phase him. He sighed and rested his face against his knee that was propped up for support.
After her long shower and getting herself ready for sleeping, she walked out of her bathroom. When she did, she jumped in surprise and screamed. Shadow swiftly made his way to her and he covered her mouth to keep her quiet.
"Shush! Do you want me to get beheaded?" he hushed in her ear as his hand was still over her mouth.
Amy's breathing went erractic and she tried to push him off her body. Shadow obliged to her movements and let her free. Amy wasn't expecting this, although she did remembered that he was going to meet her again. She gave him an annoyed look and threw her hands up in disbelief. She wanted to ask so many questions.
"Why are you in my room?! Esecially at this late! How'd you even get in here and why are you even here?!" Amy questioned with her voice hushed down low but she wanted to scream at him because she didn't want any of this right now.
Shadow had a small smirk on his face and let her asked all the questions. He sighed and shrugged his shoulders then made his way back to the window sill to sit on. He gazed at the young princess and noticed how transparent her night gown was, he couldn't help but to think that she looked cute.
"You look nice in your night gown," he simply ignored her questions but was only joking about it. He thought it was humorous when he saw the look on her face.
Amy was in shock that he would say that and she gave him a sneer look. She quickly jumped in her bed and covered herself in the sheets. She didn't want any man looking at her in that way, too late that Shadow did.
"Sh-Shut up! Now answer me or I will call the guards on you!" Amy held the blanket tight to herself and narrowed her eyes at the dark, red streaked hedgehog that was in front of her.
Shadow sighed and mentally rolled his eyes, he jumped off the window sill and sat on her dresser. He gave her a coolly look and rested his face on his palm. He was going to answer her for real this time.
"Anyway, I came up here to talk to you, obviously. I couldn't get to you earlier today because I know you was getting ready for today. I jumped tree to tree to get through the guards, so yeah, now I'm here with you, Princess Amy."
Shadow crossed his arms and was watching Amy's face, he knew it.
Amy shook her head and was annoyed at him. "Y-You have something t-to talk to me? About what, exactly?"
Shadow continued to rest his head on his palm and nodded his head.
"Yeah, I do have something to talk about, just you. Anyway, I wanted to tell you that the prince you met, Sonic or whatever his name is. He's actually not what he seems to be. His family had done some horrendous things in the past and only want to get with you because it will strengthen his kingdom; meaning he will get in wars with other kingdoms and take over them for his own. Your family is the second most powerful, his parents and yours are behind in this scheme for years. Your kingdom and his will be too strong to be stopped."
Shadow was up and pacing back and forth, he was actually quite afraid that if they did get married his family and bloodline will be destroyed with no survivors left. He knows that because his family and Sonics' been at it for years, trying to destroy each other.
Shadow stopped in his tracks and looked at Amy. He was assuming that she wasn't going to believe him, but he wasn't lying.
Amy's face was in shock, she had her mouth covered with her hands and gasped. Her nerves went everywhere and she couldn't think at all. It seemed that he gave her too much to take in and she wasn't sure what to say or even think about.
"Th-This c-cannot be... How d-do you even know? Why, just why? I have no knowledge about anything..." Amy felt like crying because it felt like her parents were just using her for power. She didn't know what to believe. Amy ran her hands through her quills and clenched onto her scalp. She was too in distress at the moment.
Shadow felt bad for the poor girl, he resumed looking at her and mentally frowned.
"My older brother, Rafael... he knew everything and what was going on. Our family was trying to stop him to attempt an assassination on Sonic. He lied to our parents by telling them that he wasn't going to do it. He wanted to kill Sonic because whenever he got the chance to marry you, he was going to kill my family and obliterate my kingdom..."
Shadow paused for a moment and took a deep breath.
"Of course, he went on with what he wanted to do and when he got to Sonics' kingdom, he was killed on spot. He didn't even got a chance to get to his window. The guard instantly shot him with an arrow and with that, he fell to his death... that was the end for my brother. I understood what he was going to do, but he didn't execute his plan perfectly."
Amy was all ears and was in surprised with everything he was telling her. Amy had so much to ask but she decided against it, she was going to ask him later. She was so sad and angry at the same time. Her emotions were in havoc, she didn't understand anything what her parents tell her.
"I'm so sorry," she said sadly.
Shadow waved it off and shook his head, "it's alright."
Amy looked down at her bed and sighed, she couldn't believe what she was hearing, but it's all true. She did wondered what happened to his brother, but the news didn't tell the reason why he'd died. She sneered at the thought because of censorship and lies that were on the news. She looked up at the prince, she felt so bad for him.
Shadow was staring off and was trying to take in what his self said to Amy. He sighed at the thought of what all the stuff he went through. It was a pain he had to bear on for the rest of his self. As he was spacing out, he heard Amy's voice, he put his attention back on her.
"So that m-means... you're going to go after Sonic and kill him?" she asked with weariness in her voice.
Shadow put his hand up at her and shook his head. "No, I'm not going to kill him... Even if I wanted to I would end up dead like my brother since the security is now tighter than ever."
Amy nodded her head slowly and did agree with him silently. Amy was in shock with everything that she was just told. Now she has this feeling of paranoia. She wanted to ask him more questions but she was going to save it for a later time, she realized all the talking ate up a lot of time.
"Well, okay then, Shadow... I have a lot to think about now. I would love to talk some more but I really should get to bed now, my parents are going to talk to me tomorrow at breakfast."
Amy bit her bottom lip and looked at the onyx hedgehog. Those piercing red eyes is what got her, she wondered that it was full of despair and mystery. She frowned at the thought. She did looked at his scarred eye and was going to ask how he'd got it, she was going to ask him later. t t
Shadow nodded his head and sighed. He looked at the princess and gave her a dreary look, he didn't know why he did. Shaking his head mentally, he walked towards the window.
"I'll be on my way now... I'll talk to you soon, princess."
With that said, Shadow soon disappear in the dark night. Amy frowned because she didn't get a chance to say good-bye. She actually wanted to talk to him again tomorrow. She sighed in disbelief, pushed the covers off her, and walked towards the switch and turned off the lights. She walked back to her bed and threw the covers back on. She clenched the covers tight against her body and shuddered at the thought about tomorrow. She knew a lot was going to happen and now she didn't believe everything what her parents are going to say.
"I need to meet up with him later on..." she said quietly to herself and soon drifted off to her slumber.
