Chapter 12: Co-Captain
When I opened my eyes I was in the darkness just floating there in the black.
"SOMEBODY HELP!" Its Scott yelling why is he yelling? Where am I? How did I get here? I hear a deep rumbling and in an instant I was on the ground. Looking at my surroundings I'm in a cave and there before me was a tree like Nyralim. But this was different unlike Nyralim who radiated warmth and wisdom this tree radiated fear and regret. Walking towards the being I tensed when he began to speak.
"Child of Light why are you in Akara-Tor my domain?" The being asked
"I don't really know how I got here all I remember was hearing my brothers screams. Can you please tell me the way out of here?" I ask the tree
"Ahh it is the shade I knew you would come here but your arrival is too soon" When he said that a portal appeared
"Go through their and meet with Nyralim he will know what to do" Walking towards the portal I stopped and turned back to the tree
"We will meet again shade but hopefully not anytime longer"
"But wait! I have questions-"
Akara already had transported me and I didn't have to go through the portal. It appears I'm in Caer Nyralim atop its firm green branches the usual fae looked at me with curiosity or envy I do not know. Running towards the tree I find Nyralim waiting
"So you have come…" The tree said
"Nyralim do you know what happened to me I don't understand what the hell is going on. First I was floating in darkness, then I was pulled into a place called Akara-Tor with a thing that was like you was in there, then he made a portal and put me here. Can you please just tell me the answer to what is happening to me" The tree hums and gives me an answer
"When the Alpha slashed you I took your soul away as you were dying" He answers and I feel stunned. I was dying?
"Am I dying now?" I ask
"No I have given you my grace and you are alive for the time being" Nyralim answered
"Grace? What's that?" I asked and suddenly I looked at my hand I seen it shock with green lighting
"That is the power of nature's wrath its growth is determined only by your strength. This is to help you defend yourself and anyone who harms your friends but it won't fully awaken just yet" Nyralim said
"So this power it's dormant but why give it to me and not one of the fae here?" I ask because it seems like they deserve it more than me
"The fae do not like change, they want nothing of it and that's why their very lives are at the brink of extinction" He sounded almost pained what was happening here
"Well can you at least tell me how to use this power so I can help myself?" I asked
"It is will only reveal itself in times of threats but now it is time for you to leave this place once more"
"Alright then but what am I going to tell my friends now that I have superpowers? They're gonna freak out when I'm shooting green lighting in my hand" I said
"That you must face yourself now return to the world of awakening. Remember my warning the time of Formalities and Winter is upon you. Now Go!" When Nyralim said that my whole body flew backwards into the light as everything faded into black. But as I laid there in the black I heard a voice
"Ella please wake up, I'm sorry I couldn't protect you but please wake up!" I was suddenly lunged upwards into the blinding white light
I struggled to adjust my eyes to the brightness of the white light which meant that I was alive and well, the first thing I notice is the beeping and the tube stuck in my arm. As my eyes adjust to the lights I began to realize where I am. The hospital raising up my gown I feel the bandages and remember what the Alpha has done. I try and get up to move but my side hurt too much it causes me too scream
"AAAAAHHHHHH" It stings so much that I couldn't stop screaming and various nurses and doctors rush into my room. One of them puts a needle in my IV and I feel drowsy again. The next time I regain consciousness my eye locks on to two people in my room
"Scott? Is that you?" I say as my vision struggles to focus but I feel a huge embrace and hear my brother's voice
"Ella I'm so glad you're okay!" Scott says while I'm still in his bear trap of a hug
"Scott. Too. Much. Strength. In. Hug." I get out and he lets go but then Stiles tackles me back to my bed when I just tried to sit back up.
"DON'T EVER SCARE US LIKE THAT AGAIN" Stiles say and I hug him back
"I don't plan on it" I reply and he let's go and I bring myself up to see that the counter was surrounded by various cards and flowers. Scott, Stiles, Lydia, Allison and surprisingly one from Jackson.
"So what's been going on since I've been comatose" When I said this both boys looked around to avoiding my eye contact.
I sigh "Something bad happened hasn't it?"
"You have no idea" Stiles reply
Suddenly something in my body clicked and I clutched myself in because it felt like someone was burning me form the inside out. Then I noticed that my hand was acting up and the energy was charging like a bomb.
"Ella wants wrong?" Scott rushed up to me with concern Stiles went to the door and made sure no one was coming through.
"Scott we need to get to the woods NOW" I clutched my hand in fear trying to not release the energy.
"Alright come on we need to get going" Stiles said and we ran fast toward the lobby
"Hello I'm here to sign out" I told the female clerk
"Are you sure? You don't look alright to-"The woman said but Stiles quickly interrupted her
"Umm our friend just needs to leave the hospital mam it's just that she's having headaches you see she doesn't like hospitals-"Stiles said
"Say no more I already signed you out tell your mother I said hi you too" She said as we exited the doors
"Well what do we do now?" Stiles asked me as we all climbed in the jeep
"The woods. We need to get to the woods" I said and Stiles made his ways towards the preserve. Speeding through a couple of red lights and stops signs thank god there weren't any cops too or we would be in deep shit. The green energy is still charging itself and the pain was becoming was more terrible and I was afraid it would go off then and there.
"We're here!" Scott said. He helped me out and rushed me to the woods. We got to a good spot where we weren't near anyone so I decided to that it was time to let it go.
"Alright guys get back!" I said and I waited until they was a good distance away from me.
"AAAAHHHHHH!" I yelled as the Natures Wrath took its first discharge in the world. The energy was like a shockwave that went for a couple of miles. The blast didn't seem to harm anything but there were green sparks that was flying from the sky but those quickly disappeared
"Ella WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT" Scott yelled as he came rushing up to me
"THAT WAS AWESOME GIRL" Stiles came out running towards us with a smile on his face
"Well it's a long story in which-"
"Well, well, well if it isn't Ella McCall living and breathing again" I stopped dead in my sentence in which I was completely stunned I turned around to face Peter the man who was or used to be in a physical induced coma who is now up and about. As if he was new
"Have you come to reconsider your offer Scott?" Peter asked him. Offer? What is he talking about?
"No I was just helping out my sister as you can see" Scott said as he backed up
"Well that's too bad because now I want to talk to Ella for a minute" Peter comes charging me with werewolf speed and I raise my hands up in a defensive stance but then the green energy strikes Peter and makes him fly back with such incredible force that he hits a tree and passes out.
"Come we need to leave before Derek gets here" Scott said
"Wait Scott what is going with Derek?" I asked
"I'll explain later but now we need to go!" We all run back into the jeep and get on the road. When I turn back I see Peter staring at us driving away. As Stiles drove to our house I decided now was the time to ask questions
"Soooo does anyone want to tell me why Peter is back?" I ask
"Well it seems that Peter is really the Alpha. He's the one who killed all those people, almost killed me and Jackson, and turned Scott into a werewolf" Stiles answered back
"Do you know why he's killing all these people?" I asked him
"Not yet, but here we're at your house" The jeep stopped in front of our house as we both walked towards the door
"Alright now it's your turn" Scott said
"My turn?" I answered going up to my room
Scott scoffed "Like what was all that at the woods!? What did you do to Peter!?"
"Well it was a gift-"I started to speak
"A gift from who!?" Scott asked
"It was from Nyralim alright! Whatever he did to me saved my life and protected me so I didn't die but it doesn't matter because apparently I'm going to die anyway!" I yelled at him
"Ella your eyes and your hand…" Scott said
"What are you talking about Scott" He went upstairs and returned with one of moms mirror and gave it to me. I looked at it and seen that my pupils turned from a dark brown to a dark green.
"This all started when I was clipped by Peter. I met Akara another of the ring of keozai who sent me too Nyralim. He gave me these power but they aren't fully awakened until "the time of winter and formalities" come and I still don't know what that means" finishing I sat down on my bed to try and calm myself down.
"Wait Ella don't you get it?" Scott said
"Ella a time of winter and formalities? That means the winter formal! So whatever is going to happen to you means that it's going to happen then?" Scott said
"Then when does it happen?" I ask him
"Next week" Scott answered quietly. So whatever is going to happen is going to happen next week that's just great then
"Alright well are you not mad at me anymore?" I asked and he looked at me crazy
"Mad? Why would I be mad? My sister has freakin magical powers that are totally badass!" Scott said hugging me into another bear hug. We heard the door open and that means mom came home. After we sat there talking about everything we heard someone knock on the door. I got to open it and it was Allison
"Hey Allison" I said
"El your awake" Allison pulled me into a hug and I hugged her back
"What are you doing here?" Scott asked
"Your mom let me in can we please talk?" She asked. Scott got up and looked at me
"Well what are you waiting for go!" I said shooing him away from my room and closed the door. Now that I was alone I decided to play with this power I received it danced around my fingers in swirls and sparks which was quite fun actually. I stopped when I heard Mom talking to Scott
"Is it my hair? Makeup?" She said
"Mom you look gorgeous regardless but where are you going?" I said
"You look amazing" Scott said
"You're beautiful" Allison added and mom beamed with confidence
"But why do you look amazing?" Scott asked
"Because amazingly I have a date with a man over the age of 16" She said and smiled to herself
"Who is it?" I asked
"A medical rep who came to the hospital today, yeah we just started talking and the next thing you know I'm saying yes to dinner. I'm really hating myself for skipping the gym last week." Mom added
"What medical rep?" Scott asked and the doorbell rang
"That medical rep and I'm not ready can you just stall him you two just be nice" I said and we both went downstairs but as we headed towards the door I kept hearing alarms in my head and Scott was hesitant on opening the door. He backed away but then doorbell rang again
"Scott get the door" Mom said but we didn't do anything
But it kept ranging more persistently
"Scott and Ella for the love god answer the door!" Mom yelled as we stared at it but the doorknob turned on its own. I went to open to see who this guy but no one was there
"Aren't you going to invite him in?" Mom asked impatiently. We turn around to see Peter Hale in front of our door. Scott tried to slam the door but Peter easily cached it
"Really is that how you treat your guest?" He asked
"We'll tell her" I said
"What? That I was a catatonic burn victim with burns covering half my face who turns into a wolf and killed people? Good luck with that" Peter said
"If you hurt her or even touch her-" Scott threatened
"Scott let me stop you right there. I've been in a coma for six years wouldn't I like a date with lovely women?" He ask and my hands started to spark up again
"Just a minute!" Mom yelled as she went back into the bathroom
"Or do you think this is a bid to get you as part of the pack? If your mother is well like us" Peter said as he slowly walked towards us
"You need to understand how much more powerful we are together, you and me and Derek. Did you know that some of the most successful military operations on U-Boats where called? Wolf packs did you know that, or are you failing history as well?" Peter asked
"Well the Germans lost the war even with their wolf packs" I said and Peter looked at me with anger
"Oh we still need to have that talk but I think the most historians would argue that is because of leadership" Peter said
"Ok I'm ready" Mom took Peter arm and went out of the door
"Mom!" Scott yelled and they both turned back towards us
"Yeah Scott?" She asked
"Have fun" I said and they went on their way
"We need to stop this now" I said grabbing my phone. After talking to Allison we went to Stiles and convinced him to crash into Peter's car to stop him from turning mom
"He said anything?" I asked him
"Yeah he said that Jackson knows and he's at Derek's house right now" He said. We quickly drove to the Hale house to prevent Jackson from getting killed. Luckily we got there minutes before they came in and hid
"AND NO ONE CARES YOUR CAPTAIN OF THE LACROSSE TEAM" Derek yelled and we both walked out
"Hey!" Scott yelled and they both looked up
"That's Co-Captain" Scott said and jumped down the stairs and I slid down the rails to get in front of Jackson
"Derek don't do this please no one else has to get hurt" The wolf stayed silent but he said only two words
"GET DOWN!" He yelled and that's when an explosive arrow came through the house. I moved Jackson away from the blast
"GO!" I yelled and he quickly left nut my brothers had gotten shot with multiple bullets
"Ella take Scott and get outta here!" He yelled
"No I'm not leaving you" I yelled back
"I can take care of myself now go!" Derek yelled and we both left through the back and into the car. Out of the corner of my eye I saw someone coming towards I was getting ready to blast them but then it was Deaton the veterinarian came out of the darkness.
"We don't have time for question. We need to get to the vet!" He said I opened the door and let him in and speed off to the vet. We quickly got him on the operating table and Deaton started to treat him
"Is he going to be alright?" I asked
"Don't worry he'll be fine but he'll be out for a couple of hours" He answered
"So how long did you know about this?" I asked
"Well I only treat animals 90% of the time the. The other 10 is werewolves"
"So the child of dust what do you think of here Nyralim?" Akara asks his brother
"Her powers are extraordinary you have given her your blessing as well yes?" Nyralim replies
"No she will receive it when she will come to me on her own terms" Akara says
"Her time is coming anyway the choice is hers for now…"
A/N: Yeah so I didn't like how the first chapter was and since it was too close to the season finale and it would've broken up into parts was lame so I went back an episode for myself. But comment, favorite, and follow for more updates this is the LastNephalem Out
