Shining Like a Diamond
There was a wall of soft cotton and heavy fabric that wrapped me up like a fresh carpet to be sold. My hands were warm and my fingers were intertwined with those of another. I was at complete and utter peace. My eyelids drifted open slowly and happily. I blinked once or twice until they focused and looked at Phil. He was fast asleep in his own little roll of blankets. He was a pale and shining burrito. His face showed nothing other than contentedness, and a small twitch every now and then, as his lips would form a smile. I knew he must be dreaming of something, and I could only hope it was me, despite how self centered that might end up sounding.
I watched him slowly wake up. His bright blue eyes glinted in the light, creating a vibrant color that seemed to fill me with comfort. He seemed to focus more, and looked at me. I was already smiling at how gorgeous he was. I didn't believe it to be possible for a creature to look this perfect as they woke up.
He blinked a few more times before smiling at me. Under the blankets, he rubbed his thumb along the side of my hand. It was such a small thing, yet it brought me comfort. It was as if he was just reassuring the fact that he was there with me.
"Hey," he said.
"Hey," I whispered. I scooted closer to him until we were just inches apart. I brought my face up against his, until our noses touched. We rubbed them together like those cheesy romance movies with the Eskimo kisses, but trust me when I say you wouldn't hear me complaining.
The light of the morning crept through the side of my curtains, which usually remained tightly closed so as to shield me from the brightness of the outside. Phil lifted a hand and gently set it down in my hair. He ran his fingers through it as he leaned forward again. This time, however, he kissed me. His lips encircled mine, and closed them up. He placed his hand on the back of my neck, and pulled me forward.
I left my mind to drift to nothing but clouds and wind, and my fingers to drift to his stubbly scalp. I kissed him hard and passionately, and did not for a minute let him release me. My eyes were closed, but I felt so intensely at attention. He suddenly moved so that he was on top of me, propping himself up on two arms and making me reach up for him. I laughed as he pulled away and just looked at me.
Phil's POV
I was leaning over Dan, who was starting to shy away from me as I stared down at him. He finally made full eye contact with me, and I melted. I stared into his eyes; into that endless chocolate, mocha, and cappuccino. I could feel their warmth in me, his eyes. I smiled. He pulled me down on him again by my t-shirt, and wrapped me up in an awkwardly tight bear hug. I returned it in all its awkwardness, before sitting up on the edge. I was still in the jeans I had been wearing the night before, but Dan had changed out of his before going to sleep.
I yawned and stretched out my arms. I had stayed in Dan's bed a few times over the past few years, actually, but it was always by accident. We would be filming late and I would just crash while Dan was doing something, or I would edit in his room with him or something and pass out. He'd usually just leave me, probably because he was just too lazy to wake me up. I mean whatever, we were friends, right?
I rolled to the side of Dan and checked the time on the clock. It was noon. We had already slept so much of the day away.
I sat up on the edge of the bed and dangled my legs over the side. I pushed my toes into the soft and thick carpet that was at the side of the bed. I felt Dan shifting around behind me, and soon two arms wrapped around my neck from behind.
"Soooooo," He said, laughing for a minute. "What are we going to do today, Philip?"
"Well, Daniel, let's make a video." I smiled as he nuzzled my shoulder with his head. I could feel him nodding against my shoulder.
"Okay," he said. "If you are ready."
"I think I am," I hummed. I leaned around slightly, pecked the top of his head, and stood up. "You know," I began. "It has been almost a year since the last Phil Is Not on Fire video."
"It has not," Dan said with astonishment. "There's no way it was that long ago already!"
I nodded. "It has been eleven months. We need to start filming fast." I stood up, finally, and straightened out my T-shirt.
Dan soon followed suit, dressing, and fixing his hair. We soon found ourselves on the side of his bed, camera in front of us, and having collected questions from a quick tweet. Dan plopped down next to me, grinned at me, and then started the camera.
"Hey guys! So it's been a while," I said.
A brief cat whisker enabling session occurred after then, before we dove into the first of what would most likely be rather obtrusive questions. We owed it to the fans, however, to make them an amazing video after all this time of not hearing from the two of us in any kind of form.
When we finished filming, I decided to edit it right away. I wanted it to be up as soon as was physically possible. We had explained in a portion of the video how things would be going back to normal soon, and how they didn't need to worry about us.
So, after a few hours of editing, I looked over at Dan. "Hey Dan?"
"Yeah?" He responded, breaking from his phone and looking up at me questioningly.
"Ready to post it?" I asked
"Yeah, let's do it," he smiled.
"Phil Is Not on Fire number 6, completed." I smiled and gave Dan a hug; something we always did after posting the next installment of the series. This time, however, it was even more special.
It's been a long time⦠Please don't hate me! This is a filler chapter, so sorry it isn't anything spectacular. I'm sorry. Okay, bye! ~Lexi~
