Short Paily fic set 6 years after high school. It's New Year's Eve and as the countdown is near, Paige and Emily reflect on their time together. It's a two part fic. Don't forget to review or message me and tell me what you think. I do not own PLL or the characters.
New year, same love.
Paige's POV
Every year as New Years rolls around I get sentimental. I get sentimental because of love, because of happiness and all of these things simply because of Emily Fields.
If somebody would of told me 8/9 years ago that I would be here celebrating New Years with Emily Fields, I would of laughed at their stupidity. I'm still so amazed that she is with me.
After everything we had been through with –A during high school, it's safe to say we have a strong bond. I guess death threats, getting kidnapped, manipulated and being used as puppets together will do that. The love we have for each other is ultimately what makes us the strongest. We have always helped each other grow.
Of course we had our ups and down aside from the craziness. Me not being ready to come out, ex girlfriends, not getting into the same college and parents wanting me to transfer early are just a few of those downs.
The ups however, make all of those uncontrollable and shit things in the past so irrelevant. Getting to wake up next to Emily every morning is my favourite thing. Just knowing that we're here together happy and safe, well that's the dream I'm really living. I love waking up before her and being able to hold her in my arms and watch her sleep, as the early morning sun reflects on her beautiful face, making it even more magical…if that's even possible. I love her raspy voice as soon as she wakes up. Coming home to Emily is my second favourite thing. No matter how badly my day has gone she always knows how to put a smile on my face. Emily has always been home to me.
And as we are sitting here celebrating our New Year's Eve with our friends, surrounded by so much love, I can't help but squeeze Emily's hand a little tighter and smile at her, knowing that this is where I'm meant to be.
