"Martin what are you doing?" yelled the Imperial woman, as the emperor walked away from her and towards the middle of the temple.
"I know what I have to do now," was all the man responded, a smile on his face as he turned to look at the short haired woman, "I will forever cherish you, Marcella."
"What do you –" a scream came from Marcella as the front of the temple was torn down by Mehrunes Dagon, only for the entire roof to be torn away by a golden light. "Martin!" she yelled as she saw him enveloped in it, "No!"
A roar filled the sky as the light took the shape of a dragon.
The Imperial jolted awake her eyes wide, tears already streaming down her face. A sob left her and then another and she would have continued to do so had a cry in the corner of the room not started. Marcella breathed in deeply as she wiped her tears from her face before getting up and making her way over to the crib.
"Hush, hush little one, mother's here," she murmured as she picked up the crying child. She rocked the baby back and forth, rubbing their back to soothe them from their fit.
Comforted by their mother's embrace and soft voice, the child fell asleep once again. Marcella looked at the child in her arms; the dark haired that crowned their head, the tear stained cheeks, the small button-like nose, and the ever pouting mouth.
The woman smiled, cradling her child closer to her breast.
"You may have taken my heart Martin, but you have left me at least with this small piece of yours."
