The Good Doctor

DPOV

I'd seen the house through the memories of my brother, still nothing compared to seeing it first hand, modern and yet still aged. It's large glass windows to allow constant light into its rooms. The balconies to give freeing air into its passages and it's large dark grey slate steps, so powerful and yet reserved, hiding the nature of the vampires that dwelt within.

I advanced toward the door and was met by a smiling young man with flash blonde hair and gleaming golden eyes. He wore light faded colours, dress trousers as if returned from a meeting in an office or some such place, in entering his mind and recalling the memories of my brother this particular immortal must have been the famed head of the Olympic Coven. Carlisle.

To his right not two steps behind him was a radiant female whose eyes shown and whose warm smile dazzled me. She slid her hand into his and gave it a reassuring squeeze. Esme. Her beauty, to me at least, rivalled Rosalie's, she had a warm smile about her, and an aura that penetrated the soul and gave me peace, unlike what my brother could produce with his gift.

I stepped further into the house and breathed deeply, taking in all of the scents that this family could throw at me, each of the inhabitants separate scents and smells filled my nose and I registered each as to remember them for later. Then the stench of human food hit me like a cannon ball, I wretched and then straightened as I heard Edward and Emmett chuckle to themselves, I shot them both a stare that meant business, they weren't phased.

Jasper stepped forward to address Carlisle and Esme. 'This is my brother David, I know I never mentioned him before, I was under the impression he was dead and only recently have been told otherwise.' He smiled weakly at me, I knew he meant it though, even though it's size was small. 'He's family Carlisle and has nowhere else to go, so…' "Of course he will live with us" Esme's voice ran clear with joy and acceptance of the situation, I beamed at her and thanked her silently.

I was given charge of Edward's old room, spacious and stocked with music, none of which was too my taste much. Although I was partial to Clare de Lune. As I lounged on the sofa listening to the beautiful music I heard someone approach and registered the scent as Reneseme's. She gave a light rap on the door and I opened my eyes in greeting to her. She stepped forward, a creature of grace and elegance whose movements were flawless although reserved as if she was not used to her steady balance. "Can I ask you something David?" "Why of course Reneseme, unlike my brother, I don't bite" I winked at her through half closed eyes.

"Have you ever been in love?"
