Jude's POV:

Everyone looked at me like I had just killed someone. Brandon lunges at me but Stef and Lena block him. I honestly didn't care. Even if he was drunk. Having nothing else to say I walked out of the room.

Behind me I heard the faint voices of Stef and Lena saying that they are going to talk to me later. Which probably means I'm going to get in trouble.

I don't care.

I told myself that over and over. I don't care, I don't care, I don't care. I remembered the rhyme my mom used to tell me whenever I said that when I was little. All I know is that kid in the rhyme was an idiot. I actually had a reason.

I walked downstairs absentmindedly to the both suspicious and questioning looks from Mariana and Jesus. I sat down, rubbing my hand slightly. Their expecting glances continued. When they realized I wasn't going to explain anything, they asked "So what happened?"

"I punched him in the face." I whispered. Guilt was washing over me. I'm not a violent person. I shouldn't have done that. But it was because I was angry. Anger makes people do strange things.

Mariana and Jesus' eyes went wide. They didn't say anything of awhile until Jesus questioned "You did what?!"

I slightly laughed then ashamed, I looked towards the floor and whispered again

"I punched him in the face."

Callie walked over from whatever she had had to do and sat oblivious. There was a confused expression on her face as she looked between Mariana and Jesus who still were shocked. "What did I miss?" she asked.

I opened my mouth to say something when I heard Lena's voice shout "Jude, can we speak to you?" Even though her voice was kind, everyone could tell she was mad.

I dragged my feet up the stairs. "Good luck." Jesus whispered, earning another confused look from Callie. My feet felt like lead. I'm in so much trouble.

Mariana's POV:

I still can't believe Jude did that! He isn't a violent kid. I guess people do crazy things out of anger. Jesus and I turned towards Callie, who was waiting for an explanation.

"Jude punched Brandon in the face!" I blurted out. Jesus lightly kicked my leg. "Sorry" I mumbled

"He did what?!" Callie questioned. I could almost laugh at her expression and I didn't only because we probably wore the same expression a couple minutes ago.

"Yeah, that's why moms want to talk to him." Jesus explained

"I figured he was just going to yell at him." Callie whispered. There was an awkward moment of silence then Callie said "I'm going to go to bed early."

I laughed softly and whispered "Tell me what happens" knowing where she was going.

She tip-toed up the stairs and was out of sight.

Callie's POV:

I crept up the stairs and next to Jude and Jesus's bedroom door.

It was Lena who was speaking now. "I know, but that's not an excuse to punch someone."

"But he was just so rude!" Jude replied

"He was drunk. He didn't really mean what he said" Stef explained

I could sense Jude shaking his head "That's the thing he did mean it!"

Both Stef and Lena sighed "We'll talk about this later." Stef told him as I heard footsteps coming towards the door. I quickly scurried into my room.

The next day was both quiet and awkward. At 10 there was a groan that came from Brandon's room telling us he was awake. Breakfast was so quiet that you could hear a pin drop (AN: i couldn't help myself! If you know what this is from then I give you a virtual hug!)

At one, I told everyone that I was going to go do my homework. Instead, I went into Brandon's room.

"Mom I'm not hungry right now!" he shouted at me. He opened his eyes and looked at me. "Oh sorry, Callie."

"Sorry to bother you, I'll come back later." i apologized. I was walking towards the door when Brandon called "No I need to talk to you, sit." he patted the bed and hesitantly sat on it. "I'm really sorry about yesterday Callie. I shouldn't have said that to you."

"It's okay" I responded "I know how people say things they don't mean when they are drunk."

His gaze fell to the floor, filled with guilt. It was silent for a second then he said "I didn't say I didn't mean it."
