He revels in the quiet minutes when they sit together cleaning weapons and armor; relishes the raucous games of chance and skill that they dream up to pass the time. But what really thrills him are those hours when Kix can't sleep for nerves and Hardcase for boredom.
They all pile together on the floor like Draz pups. Jesse tells them old kid's stories he'd read out of a book found in the rubble of some dead city and eventually they all fall asleep in an exquisite tangle of warm clone.
