Satine's Death Rewrite
A little tiny rewrite of the previous chapter. I liked this one.
Time seemed to slow before his eyes.
In that moment, the Darkblade glowed a little brighter. Maul's skin seemed redder, his tattoos more menacing. The surprise in Satine's blue eyes became clearer; every golden hair on her head shone brightly. The choking sounds stopped, only to be replaced with something worse-
the thwack of a blade entering a body and a thud as the same body fell to the floor.
Time sped up again, and he was practically tripping over his own feet, kneeling by her body- now time was going too fast, she was going too fast.
She had gone so fast he hadn't even gotten to say "I love you" back.
OooOooO
Time slowed in front of her eyes.
The Jedi's blue-gray eyes were enunciated, his own blazing, blue weapon reflected in their depths. His mouth moved slowly, asking a question.
Time returned to its original pace. "You're Satine's sister, aren't you?"
She gaped, and then he'd shot something else at her: an "I'm sorry."
Time whirled and sped up, so quickly that she was still staring at the same spot fifteen minutes after his ship had disappeared.
The Jedi was gone, and with him, all hope for her sister.
