Aelita
A/N: Since I've been having such trouble writing this one out, I'm going to end here in this chapter. There will be an epilogue that I've had planned out since the beginning of this story. Afterwards I'm going to be working on re-writing some of my old fanfictions. So, there's going to be a bit of jumping around here and there, but it shouldn't be too bad.
She walked towards Odd and Ulrich's room. She knew the brunet hadn't been seen all day, but she was still wary about going there. He used to be her friend, and he'd been the one to kill Jeremie. Jeremie had worked so hard to get her here, and he'd worked so hard to get Ulrich back that his death seemed like a waste of the greatest magnitude.
It wasn't long before she found herself in front of Odd's door and knocked.
Odd opened it and waved her inside. "I know it looks bad, but I have a plan. Herve is working on part of it, and you're going to have to work on the other. I have the DVD with that stuff from Jeremie's computer. I even figured out how to wipe the whole thing so no one would find anything on his computer."
"Odd, you do realize they'll start an investigation into it just because of that fact? There's nothing there, so they're going to assume he may have been doing something illegal," Aelita said, making a face and taking the DVD when he offered it to her.
"I was just thinking about preserving Lyoko at the time. I'm more worried about them finding out about it and Xana. There could still be a chance to save Ulrich and stop Xana, but we have to act quickly. What do you think would happen to Ulrich if Xana were shut down? I'm pretty sure he'd die."
Aelita sighed and sat on Ulrich's bed. "Odd, we need to get it figured out soon. No offense, but out of the two of us I'm the biggest threat. He's going to get rid of me first, and I have no doubt in my mind he's not going to want the chance of something happening that'll be good for us."
"Like I said, I have something in the works with Herve. I doubt Xana knows about it, either. Listen, I'll move my stuff into your room. I'll hide out in your room. We need to never be alone. I can protect you, and you can protect me. I don't want to die yet, and I doubt you do either."
Aelita looked like she was thinking about it and finally nodded. "Alright, but we need to figure out how to keep you hidden from Jim. What if he does a surprise inspection?"
"If anything we'll tell them that it's a life and death situation. I don't know, Aelita. I just really think that we need to keep together," he said.
"I know, but I have work I need to do. Maybe we should just stay solely at the Factory. You could bring Kiwi and I could work. We'd be together, and you can call Herve from down there."
It didn't take long for Ulrich to get to his destination. He knew he needed to work quickly or he'd lose his window of opportunity. He was going to destroy the last of them once and for all, and there wasn't anything anybody could do about it.
Thinking like that made him feel a pang of sadness. He wasn't sure why, but it was there. All he knew was his life as a soldier of his master, Xana. There was nothing before that, and so he never questioned what his master had said. Never once until now, that is. Then again, his memory only spanned about half an hour at the moment.
Stop dawdling, and get what you need to get done done.
Ulrich did what he was told and started working. He was going to make sure that they were both destroyed the next time they went to Lyoko. It would work. It had to work. They'd get rid of him and his master if it didn't…..
"Thanks, Herve. I really appreciate this, and I'll let you know if it works. Well, I'll tell you when it works, because I have a feeling I won't be if it doesn't," Odd said to the second smartest person he knew. He hoped that this helped, but he wasn't positive. He went back to his and Ulrich's room and sat on the bed. Kiwi walked up to him and barked.
"Odd, are you ready to go to the Factory?" Aelita asked, coming in.
"Kiwi can come, right?" he asked picking up the dog and slipping his backpack over his shoulders.
"Yeah, so long as you have food and stuff for him," she smiled.
Both teens headed out and talked here and there on their way.
Once at the Factory, they both went their separate ways and got settled.
It didn't take long for Xana's plan to be set into motion, because it was a mere two hours after they'd gotten settled that the computer went off.
"What're we gonna do? We haven't had time to plan out how we're gonna handle these," Odd stated, getting up and going over to the computer.
"I'd say I could handle it on my own, but there's an issue with that. We'd be separate, and he'd take advantage of that. Let's go. Get down there, and I'll start the delayed virtualization," Aelita said, typing away.
-Lyoko-
Both teens landed nimbly in the Forest Sector and started running. They needed to get to the tower and out of Lyoko as quickly as they could manage.
"I see two hornets, some bloks, and a krab up ahead, Princess."
She nodded and, when they were close enough, hid behind a tree.
"Listen, I'll take care of them, and you can run to the tower. We need to get this done fast, Aelita," Odd stated, peering at the monsters from behind the tree and frowning.
"No," she stated simply, getting an energy field ready and shooting it off at the two hornets.
They flew out of the way then raced off.
"I'd joke about them being afraid of them, but I don't think that's it…" Odd muttered, coming out and starting to shoot at the krab.
"Hello," Ulrich said from behind the two.
Odd spun around and shot at him, but he was quicker and moved.
"Why can't you just accept your defeat?" he asked, drawing his sword and getting into an offensive stance.
"We're not all gone yet, Ulrich. We can still get you back, and we'll mourn the deaths of our friends together," Odd stated, moving so Aelita was behind him.
He laughed and charged forward. "I don't know what you're talking about, kitty boy. I'll enjoy killing you both, though."
Odd was thrown off, and he didn't dodge the blow fast enough. Ulrich's blade hit him in the stomach, and it hurt. "Oh crap. Aelita, get to the tower. Fast."
She nodded and took off.
"It's just you and me now," Ulrich said, getting ready for another attack.
Odd wasn't thrown off his game this time, and was able to dodge the next attack Ulrich threw at him, but he was still in pain, so he was trying to figure out a way to get away from Ulrich. It was pretty clear that Ulrich wasn't himself anymore and probably wouldn't ever be again.
The fight continued on like this, with Ulrich gaining the upperhand until Odd was laying on the ground, panting. Everything had felt real. The pain of each hit, and the windedness after fighting.
He watched as Ulrich supersprinted away and came back holding Aelita. "I want you to watch as she dies before I kill you…."
Odd tried and failed to pull himself up. To stop him. To do anything, but it failed. He fell back down and watch as Ulrich stabbed his sword into her over and over until she was gone…..
"You're next…."
A/N: I really am sorry about taking so long to update you guys…. I feel horribly about it, but I just lost my muse for this story chapters ago. I really do hope that people will read my re-makes of stories.
