Friends, not Foes

Ron warned Rose about the Malfoy family, but Hermione always cut him off and told her to judge the Malfoy's off her own experiences with them, not by her dad's. So when Rose seems to find a good friend in Scorpius Malfoy, she makes her own decision. Now, it's their 7th year and feelings besides their normal friendship are brewing between them. What drama will unfold this year?

16. The Last Lesson

Chapter 16 – The Last Lesson

Soon it was nearing N.E.W.T time and right before the time where one would start becoming frantic studying. McGonagall took them for their lesson to the edge of the Forbidden Forest for what she called their "last lesson". She had told them on the walk there, "I fully expect you four to all be able to change in full today, That being said, I won't think and less of any of you if you don't, but with the skills and speed you all have picked this up, I think you can be able to change fully."

Now they were all sat, without their bubbles, because they wouldn't be able to use those in real life, meditating and sinking deeper and deeper into themselves, into their animal sides. After an hour, Scorpius began to feel a now familiar tingle that meant that some part of him, or parts, had transformed, he open his eyes to look and to his surprise, he had no human features, besides his eyes, which though cat-like, still had their normal color. He was fully a clouded leopard, and he held back a yowl of surprise, looking up to notice McGonagall's smile and nod of approval. Only a minute after him, which he spent testing out his new four legs, Rose changed with a purr into a cheetah. They looked at each other, then the forest, then McGonagall for permission; Rose wanted to make her dream of cuddling in the forest with him in their animagus forms and reality. She merely nodded and tilted her head towards the forest and the two cats took off without another word, yowls of joy bursting out of them uncontrolled as they raced each other deep into the forest.

Rose, of course, being a cheetah won the race as they found a big tree in the forest to lay under, tired from their run. Their tails curled around the other, Rose purring the whole time. Two animals that would never meet in the wild, curled around each other, and not even close to near where they were native kept the forest animals away while the couple took a cat nap together.

Back outside the forest, a half hour after Rose and Scorpius left, Alaine began to feel the telltale tingle and opened her eyes, now a red wolf, and Albus soon followed in his golden retriever form. He barked excitedly at her and chased her around in a circle for a minute before McGonagall, amused, shook her head and told them that Rose and Scorpius had headed into the forest. They trotted of into the forest to find their best friends.

Said best friends were waking up from their cat naps and stretching their limbs in preparation of walking around the forest again. They gave each other cat grins before tearing back off at high speed through the forest, nearly crashing into the trotting wolf and dog. The four grinned at each other, such odd expressions on animal faces, and all ran off.

They ran until the sun began to sink in the sky and went to the edge of the forest to change back, walking back to the castle for dinner, which they all ate at Ravenclaw table, talking in lowly, but excited voices of finally being able to change. Now, they just had to study for N.E. . The boys walked their girlfriends back to Ravenclaw Tower and kisses them goodnight, and all dreamt of their Animagus forms that night.

(A/N: I'm SO sorry for not updating, I honestly have no good excuse. I nearly forgot about it and had zero inspiration for continuing still don't, but I didn't want to let you guys down. I'll be wrapping up this story, hopefully in the next day or two. Hope this is worth the all too long wait!)
