Friends, not Foes

Ron warned Rose about the Malfoy family, but Hermione always cut him off and told her to judge the Malfoy's off her own experiences with them, not by her dad's. So when Rose seems to find a good friend in Scorpius Malfoy, she makes her own decision. Now, it's their 7th year and feelings besides their normal friendship are brewing between them. What drama will unfold this year?

17. Graduation

Chapter 17 – Graduation

Exams were finally done, and they had all passed, and even got Os on most everything, Now the moment they had been waiting for was here, graduation. Their families sat in rows off to the side and blubbering and crying from mothers, an more than a few fathers could be heard all around them as one by one, Ravenclaws, Hufflepuffs, Gryffindors, and Slytherins all got called up for their diplomas, and when the ceremony was done, some more crying, this time from teenage girls, could be heard and Rose and Scorpius shared a loving kiss before meeting up with Albus and Alaine and going to find their families. Once found they were greeted with tear-stained hugs, cool handshakes (from Ron to Scorpius), and teary grins were exchanged.

The families joined to go out to celebrate the teens graduation, being so large, mostly on the Weasely/Potter side, that the entire restaurant had been rented out for the group. The first time in surely many, as anyone could see that the two couples would get married at some point, the only question about it was when.

They all laughed and talked, the adults, for the most part, pretending not to notice when the graduates dropped out of conversation suddenly to gaze lovingly at their boyfriend or girlfriend, or squeeze their hand. The younger and older siblings, and cousins of Rose and Albus however, as Alaine and Scorpius were only children, made kissy noises and gagged at the teens love-blinded attitudes.

The day was enjoyed by all and afterward, Lily and Hugo went back to Hogwarts for one more night, but the newly graduated seventh years went home with their parents, promises made to get together the next day, to flat search, and job search. Rose and Scorpius were looking into becoming Healers, Albus was following his father and brother into becoming an Auror, and Alaine was interested in becoming a magical lawyer. They would look the next day for a flat from them all to stay in till they got the jobs they were looking for and had a stable source income, then would get flats of their own. But for tonight, they relaxed with their parents and went to bed with big dreams and hopes for the future on each of their minds.
