A/N-So this chapter is kind of short-just setting up some background information, nothing too exciting.
Thalia Pov-
"It all started when I blew up a volcano…" Percy started.
"We know! What happened after?" We nearly screamed, exasperated.
Percy shifted uneasily, "I went somewhere, stayed then came back."
"That's the point, son, where did you go and how were you able to do all of that?" Poseidon asked.
"I didn't go anywhere important and I don't know how my sword turned black. I don't even know why I'm sixteen—I should be eighteen."
"Are you implying that you haven't been eighteen?" Athena interrogated.
Percy sighed, "I should go." He stood up, prepared to leave. Suddenly, Percy's eyes burned a deep gold color for about five minutes; making us all worried.
Poseidon tapped on his son's shoulder, "Percy?" Percy's eyes soon turned back to sea green as he refocused his vision.
"What was that?" Nico asked, concerned.
"Nothing," Percy shook his head but it was more to reassure himself than us. "I've been having visions, it's nothing."
"You should see Rachel," I suggested.
"Rachel?" Percy raised an eyebrow.
"Oh, my bad I'd forgotten you had been on your four year vaca. Well, Rachel became our oracle a few years ago so no creepy skeleton."
"Thank gods," Percy replied. "You know, when I was twelve the green mist really scared me and I was so sca-"
"Hey stranger," Rachel Dare interrupted, her red hair blowing in the breeze.
"Hey," Percy greeted, pulling her away and talking silently. A mixture of shock, sadness, and tragedy crossed her face.
Meanwhile, the crowd dispersed as the day's activities ended until only a few gods and demigods remained.
"I have to go, bye." Percy said, leaving the shore.
"Why are you taking Rachel, wherever you're going? I'm going with you!" Annabeth followed them, on their heels.
Percy was getting further away with Rachel but his voice was still cleared, "NO, Annabeth! I'm sorry, you can't-it's too dangerous. Hephaestus, you can tell them everything."
Like the wind, Percy Jackson and Rachel Dare entered the Labyrinth, sealing the entrance.
As it got windy, the group relocated to the mess hall where we could all hear better. The group consisted of demigods—Nico, Grover, Annabeth, Tyson and I. Only a few gods remained—Poseidon, Hephaestus, Aphrodite, and my dad. As we all sat down, the god of forgery started Percy's story.
"After the volcano erupted, Percy was gravely injured and landed on Calypso's island. Percy stayed fourteen because on the island, one is immortal and time's faster."
"Wait, is he like with Calypso?" Aphrodite asked, practically on the edge of her seat.
Hephaestus nodded as Annabeth stiffened, her eyes widening.
"Oh my gods, star crossed lovers!" The love goddess bawled.
"Hence, Percy stayed immortal at fourteen and when left Ogyia, he should've turned eighteen but he just aged to sixteen and he has all these powers. I don't understand why he has them but assuming the prophecy has to do with his age…"
"That doesn't explain why he's been gone—that girl should be on her island, alone. All the heroes that ever stepped on that archipelago always leave, no matter what."
"In Percy's defense; it was more of two weeks than four years and he loved her—that's why he stayed." Hephaestus defended the demigod.
"Anyway, can you blame him?" The god continued. "There's a great prophecy that predicts his death, yet he doesn't even know a line of it. In case you haven't noticed, Percy isn't your average demigod, he's different. I don't know why Percy went into the Labyrinth but it must be grave if he left the isle and perhaps something happened to Calypso—he wouldn't have left the island otherwise." With that, Hephaestus flashed himself and the gods back to Olympus.
Annabeth had her 'thinking' face on, scrutinizing a strategy.
"Annabeth, what are you thinking of?" Grover asked.
"I've got to follow Percy," She said, her jaw set.
I sighed, I knew she wouldn't just let go. "We'll all go, Artemis gave me an invisible cloak; it should be able to hide the three of us and you can wear your hat."
The five of us crept into the night, finding another entrance. "You guys sure you want to do this?"
"We can't lose Percy again," The four of us said simultaneously.
The daughter of Athena blocked the entryway and we headed into the maze. It was dark and bleak but after about an hour or two of walking, we spotted Rachel and Percy. Although all I saw was air due to Annabeth's invisibility, I could still see her motioning us to pursue silently.
A few moments late, while we were waiting on Annabeth's cue to make ourselves known, Percy held a hand in front; halting Rachel and us.
"I told you not come after me." He said, his jaw working. A cold hand reached up, pulling off the clock and Annabeth's hat.
"I want to help you, Percy." The blonde said. "I can't lose you again. You mean a lot to me."
Percy's eyebrows rose. "And what does that mean, exactly?"
Before Annabeth could respond— a voice bellowed, shaking the labyrinth. "I SMELL DEMIGODS!"
