Teddy boy,

It is your third birthday and I write this letter with all my love. Whoever you are, whatever you are, I am so proud of you, Ted. When you were born, your mother and I bickered over who you looked the most like. We agreed that you had her face and my nose. A generous Roman nose, my own mother used to say. I suppose Remus is a fitting name for someone with a Roman nose. Don't listen to the rumours; I never had a twin brother. My mother was a Muggle with a love for mythology and considered 'Romulus' to be a name more befitting a salad dressing or toothpaste. I also prefer 'Remus', mostly because having the same number of letters in my first and last name is rather pleasant. I wonder if you have any of my quirks, or perhaps you are more like your mother.

I love you, Teddy, and I miss you so much.

Love, Dad
