What worried Hermione was that she'd become obsessed to find out Draco Malfoy's secret. Why is he no longer tormenting anyone, he just seems to go about his day. He no longer smirks at the misfortune of others, it's like the little joy he previously had in the world no longer exist. Either he has seen or done something that is tearing him up inside.

Hermione walked into the library and forced Draco off her mind for the time being. Though, she couldn't help but notice that he didn't attend any of his classes today and neither was he at breakfast this morning. She was done obsessing and it was time for focus on her schoolwork. It was her 7th year for goodness sake! This is one of the most important year as of yet. So she sat down in her favorite part of the library with the best lighting and scenery from the window overlooking the school grounds.

She just opened her book when- "Ah-ha! I knew it that she'd be at the library. I tell ya, I know my Mione very well." Ron smiled as he sat next to Hermione.

She blushed a bit at the statement but covered it up with a playful, "Your insufferable."

"We were worried when we didn't see you at Dinner, and curfew is in a few minutes. I thought Draco was about to take you hostage and use you for his evil plan to gain world domination", Harry joked.

Ginny giggled, "Or use his long blond locks to control you into doing his evil deeds." They howled in laughter, making fun of Draco's unusual longer hair this year.

But for some reason it seemed to annoy Hermione how they joked about Draco, which worried her because it never bothered her in the past. "I am feeling a tired, I am going to head to bed. Night guys" she interrupted their laughter and headed off.

"What's up with her?" Ron mumbled.

"I don't know. She does have to share a common room with Draco. Imagine what she's going through." Harry sighed.

"I'm worried about her." Ginny stated softly noticing Hermione's unusual behavior.

As she walked into the heads common room, she heard voices so she stopped short of fully entering. Pansy and Draco sat on the couch in front of the fireplace, their backs to her.

Pansy sighed, her voice a bit muffled but Hermione made out only one statement, "I am worried about you."

"Pansy, I don't want you visiting me again. It isn't safe for you, Dumbledore gave me head boy for protection and as long as I stay under the radar I can probably survive this war. I am a Slytherin. I'm no hero. I'll leave Potter to risk his life for that." Draco stated bitterly, looking at the fireplace, "Just leave Pansy."

"I want to help."

"Help yourself." Draco stood up, took her hand and gave it a soft kiss. "Please, keep yourself safe." Then he walked upstairs, Pansy stared after him for a bit. Hermione quickly hid behind the convenient tapestry that was hung behind the entrance way and then after a few minutes Pansy walked out in tears.

Hermione went to sit at the couch, which Draco and Pansy were just previously seated at. She always hated these common room couches. They were too stiff, and the fabric was the itchy kind but she loved sitting in front of the fireplace and doing her homework or just a light reading. But lately other things have been on her mind that she couldn't sit here and feel the calmness of the soft crackling of the fire anymore.

Draco was running from something, and she figured it wouldn't be off the mark if she guessed Voldemort. Draco has done something to royally piss off Voldemort, something that he went to Dumbledore about. Something that the other Slytherin's would kill him for. Whatever it was, Hermione was so sure that Draco was blindly following his father's side but Draco has no allegiance. There is only one person she could go to, if Draco was a target that He was made Head boy to isolate himself then there was only one lead she could follow and that is, talking to Dumbledore.

She stood outside of his office that night, know well that it was past curfew but she felt like she was close to danger she should know what it was. "Lemon pops" she spoke Dumbledore's password and the stairwell started to move upwards. She took the first step and was brought up along with the stairwell. As she reached Dumbledore's she sighed hoping that she will get some information for him.

She knocked and heard a, "You may enter." Dumbledore seemed a bit surprised to see Hermione walk over, "Miss Granger, you know it is past curfew. For a smart witch, I am sure this matter is urgent?"

"I can't rest until I know what is going on, Professor."

"What troubles you, Miss Granger?" After Hermione's long pause, she looked like she was trying to find a way to present the problem to Dumbledore without it sounding like a case of mere curiosity.

"Draco Malfoy troubles me."

"Surely, he is not harassing you?"

"No," Hermione replied quickly, "He is in trouble, am I wrong to assume that? I am sharing a common room with him, Professor. If he is in some kind of danger, couldn't that put me in a level of danger as well?"

Professor Dumbledore stood calmly and walked to his Phoenix, Fawkes, and stroked him softly. "Draco's safety is a matter in question, yes. But aren't we all in danger? You being a friend of Harry Potter puts you in danger, you being a muggle born puts you in danger. Miss Granger, we are all dealing with hard times." Professor Dumbledore was now looking at Hermione straight in the eyes.

"Profes-"

He interrupted, "I think it's best you head to your corridors now, Miss Granger. Sweet dreams."

Hermione nodded, although she wanted to protest and demand what Draco Malfoy's up to, "Good Night, Professor", She just couldn't.
