The police system is completely useless when it comes to finding missing people. I already knew that they don't even start looking for the missing person until after 24 hours, but it's been 72 and all they've been doing is interrogating us on why we didn't report Rimi missing sooner. We were suspects to them, and it angered me to no end that they were too busy focusing on us that they weren't doing enough to find her.
"This is ridiculous!" Kenta said punching the wall at Rimi's place. Luckily he stopped blaming me for Rimi's disappearance and focused more on his anger towards the cops. "I can do better police work than these wannabe cops. Why hasn't anyone found her yet?"
Naruto scratched his head. "None of this makes sense. We all know Rimi wouldn't run away. If she was kidnapped, which I'm guessing she was, wouldn't there be some sort of sign of struggle here? She's sweet, but she'll put up a fight if she has to."
He was right. Rimi knew enough to be able to somewhat defend herself. If she was kidnapped, why wasn't the house torn apart? Of course there are other options. She could've known the person and went with him or her willingly, but I doubt that because she doesn't really hang with anyone besides us three. She could've been drugged, but she would never accept a drink from a stranger. The other option is…
"Hey Kenta," I finally said. "Was there ever anyone who would want to hurt Rimi? Or wanted Rimi?
His eyes widened. "You think he would kidnap her?"
"Who's he?" Naruto asked.
"I can't believe I didn't think of this sooner!" he said running into Rimi's room. Naruto and I looked at him confused before following him upstairs.
"What are you talking about Kenta?" I asked annoyed. He was emptying Rimi's trash can onto the floor and rummaging through it like a mad man. He ended up separating normal trash from a few letters and unopened envelopes.
"When Rimi was learning sign language, she had a teacher named Orochimaru. We all thought he was a bit off and creepy but never thought much of it," he responded.
He finally finished going through her stuff he started reading the crumbled up pieces of paper that she had. His facial expression became angrier and angrier as he went through them and started tossing them to us.
"Orochimaru became obsessed with my sister. He would always try to spend extra time with her like giving her private lessons, and at one point he started walking her home so "she would be safe," as he claimed. I think he did it to find out where she lived. It became so bad that we had to file a restraining order because she started to get freaked out."
Scanning to contents of the letters, I could see exactly why she was scared.
My darling Rimi,
There isn't a day that goes by where I'm not thinking about you. You are as gorgeous as a goddess, from your shining black hair, to your hypnotic amethyst eyes, and your curvy body. One day we will be together, and nothing will keep us apart. You are the woman of my life. I am nothing without you. With your family gone we can finally be with each other and you can bear my children.
Love always,
Orochimaru
I clenched my teeth, angered that a creep like him might have Rimi and upset that she hid these letters from us. What was she thinking?
"Why wouldn't she tell us about these?" I asked.
Naruto shook his head. "She probably thought Orochimaru wouldn't be able to do anything to her so she ignored them." It made sense, but I was brought out of my thoughts when I heard Kenta practically scream, grab Rimi's lamp, and throw it across the room. I stared at him in shock as he suddenly just went berserk and threw random objects around her room.
"Kenta!" Naruto said tackling him to the ground trying to hold his arms down. "Get a hold of yourself. What is wrong with you?"
"He killed them!" he yelled, struggling against Naruto. "He killed them to get to Rimi! Now he fucking has her! HE FUCKING HAS HER!"
The paper he last read was lying right next to him, ripped from an envelope, and I picked it up to see what he was talking about. As soon as I was done, I pulled out my cellphone and called the cops.
Rimi,
Why haven't you responded to my letters of love? Why do you distance yourself from me? What we have is special, what no one else will ever understand. Don't you know I'd do anything for you? I even made sure your parents and brother would never get between us ever again. They weren't supposed to be home. Why weren't you there earlier? It doesn't matter. They tried to keep you from me and I stopped them. Your brother can't take care of you so I will.
Orochimaru
"She never read it," I said barely above a whisper. "She didn't know he would actually come after her."
"And now he's got her," Naruto said holding a cloth in his hand. "Chloroform."
