"She's losing blood!"
"Sir, we're moving as fast as we can. You need to go to the waiting area right now and let us do our jobs."
"Will she be okay?"
"Sir-"
"Will. She. Be. Okay?"
"If you get out of our way and stop slowing us down she will be. She's in the best hands. Now please wait in the waiting area."
I groaned and allowed the doctors to take Rimi away. I couldn't believe this was happening. She wasn't supposed to get hurt. She wasn't supposed to be in the hospital right now fighting for her life.
"You should wait for the police."
"No. The police hasn't done anything useful. We told them what they needed to know but we're going to go ahead."
Itachi kept his hard haze on Kenta. "You have no idea what this Orochimaru is capable of. If he murdered your parents, who knows what he'll do to you three when you confront him. Or worse, what he'll do to Rimi."
Now I spoke. "He wouldn't hurt her. If he's deluded enough to think that they're supposed to be together forever then he will only stop his opposition."
"I can't allow you to endanger yourself!"
"And I can't allow that freak to be with her any longer! We've already wasted enough time as there is. I'm going with Kenta and Naruto to find her. I need to do this Itachi."
He paused for a moment, taking in my words. I guess he was surprised that I was actually this dedicated to something. "If you come back harmed in any way I'll kill you myself."
I smirked. "Just have your phone attached to you when I call with the location." He nodded and watched us drive off in search of her.
I truly had no idea where we were going. Kenta was the one driving around, so I'm guessing he already had somewhat of an idea of where to find Rimi. While he drove I tried desperately to keep calm and focus on any violent confrontation we might meet. I can fight, but if this psycho was able to kill her parents before Kenta got back then who knows how dangerous he really is. Itachi was right of course, but my safety means nothing compared to what Rimi must be going through.
"She's gonna be okay dude," Naruto said noticing how tense I was.
"I don't trust that guy," I said. "What if she says something that angers him and he hits her? What if he blindfolded her and she's terrified because she can't see what's coming? What if he touches her like he shouldn't?"
After I asked that, I felt Kenta suddenly add more pressure to the gas pedal, speeding faster to wherever we were headed.
"If he touched her he's dead," Kenta said. "And we're almost there so you guys better get ready. Nothing is stopping me from getting her back."
We both nodded as the car stopped outside of a building. From what I can tell, no one has used it in at least a year. It looked similar to a school, and when we walked inside I realized it was a school for the hearing impaired.
"This is where Rimi had her lessons," Kenta said. "I have a feeling Orochimaru is hiding here. This is where it all started, so this is probably where he'd keep her."
Naruto nodded. "We should split up. Sasuke and I will look around on this floor. You search the basement. If any of us finds her, send a text message and wait. We all should take him on because if one of us," he specifically looked at Kenta, "faces him alone there's a good chance it won't end well."
We agreed and went our separate directions. Naruto and I walked slowly and carefully in case he was on this floor. We didn't want to alert him in any way. I checked one side of the hall while Naruto checked the other. I eased my way into a classroom, glanced around, and silently made my way to the next one. Naruto did the same, and we both became more careful as we reached the end of the hall. Finding the last door, I glanced around in anticipation of finding Rimi or Orochimaru. I didn't notice I was holding a breath until I saw that the room was empty and I breathed a sigh in relief.
"He's not up here," I said.
"Maybe he's not even here. Kenta hasn't texted us yet."
"Or maybe he found him and took matters into his own hands."
Quickly running down the hall, we headed in the direction Kenta went. As we reach the basement we slowed our running into a silent walk as we heard struggling. I quickly took out my phone and texted Itachi our location, just in case this would get ugly. A cracked open door was ahead of us, and I nodded to Naruto that I would check it out. I glanced into the doorway, and saw that Kenta was fighting with Orochimaru, a gun across the floor, and Rimi was tied to a bed blindfolded. My eyes widened, and as soon as Naruto saw my signal that we needed to get in there we both rushed in. Naruto went to help Kenta and I went straight to Rimi.
"I told you to text us first!" Naruto yelled as he punched Orochimaru across the face. I tried not to pay attention to how disturbing the man looked, from his sickly pale skin to his golden snake like eyes.
"Rimi is tied to a fucking bed," Kenta responded after recovering from a kick to the gut. "I didn't feel like waiting."
Ignoring the two I focused on untying the ropes holding Rimi's wrists and ankles. She kept struggling, which made things more difficult, so I untied the blindfold from her eyes so that she could see it was me.
"Sasuke," she said in a whisper.
"Don't worry. I'm gonna get you out of here."
She nodded, and it wasn't long before I freed her. Surprisingly she was fine standing, and I hugged her quickly before trying to usher her out the door to safety.
"I'm not leaving you," she said firmly.
"You don't have a choice. I'm not leaving Naruto and Kenta here with this guy. Itachi and the police will be here soon. You need to get out of here now."
"That's enough!" a voice shouted. I turned in shock to see that Kenta and Naruto were on the ground and Orochimaru had gotten the gun that was on the floor. "You're not taking my precious Rimi. Never again."
I stood in front of Rimi shielding her and trying to stay calm. Naruto and Kenta weren't knocked out, but there weren't getting up anytime soon and I needed to get Rimi out of here.
"You need to let her go. She can't be with you."
"The hell she can't! She belongs with me. We were happy until her parents interfered. Now you're interfering!"
"She's happy now. Did she smile all this time when you had her? Did she laugh? Did she even speak to you?"
His eyebrows furrowed. "She talks to you?"
"I helped her gain confidence. She talks when she wants to."
I saw him lowering the gun slightly, but then he raised it again even angrier than before. "If I could've stayed with Rimi longer I would've made her speak! I would've helped with her confidence! And nothing is going to stop me from keeping her."
I saw Naruto starting to get up and sneak behind Orochimaru. Right when it looked like he was going to pull the trigger, Naruto tackled him to the ground. However, the gun still went off, and I know Rimi saw Orochimaru pull the trigger because she pushed me out the way and was hit instead.
"This is my entire fault," I said to myself. "I should've gotten her out of there faster."
"Maybe if I had stuck to the plan this wouldn't have happened," Kenta said surprising me. "I don't hate you anymore Sasuke. You tried to get my sister out of there."
Naruto groaned. "I'm the one who tackled Orochimaru making him shoot her. This is my fault."
"Why are you all blaming yourselves?" Itachi said walking up to us. None of us answered. "Orochimaru was killed in the confrontation with the police. You all got out of there unharmed and Rimi will be fine."
I perked up. "The doctors said she'll be okay?"
He nodded. "The bullet grazed her. You guys didn't notice because all you saw was the blood. She'll be perfectly fine."
