CHAPTER FIVE:

Clara groaned loudly as she peeled her eyelids back, blinking a few times to register her surroundings. She was in a dimly-lit room, the walls were solid rock, damp and cool reflecting a sickly moisture that made the room smell strongly of sweat. On the ground she saw dark puddles of dried liquid, squinting she saw that the puddles consisted of blood- a lot of blood, more than any one person could produce. Clara's stomach turned causing bile to rise in her throat.

She tried to move but it became evident that her limbs were tied to a chair with some form of impenetrable metallic rope, she resumed her upright position and glanced around once more. Behind her she heard a rustling sound, like shoes brushing against the ground. Her breath quickened, and her eyes darted around the room, from where she sat she could see a doorway, the door stood ajar; being held upright by only one hinge as it let in a stream of light that acted as the rooms only source of illumination, from what she could tell it was the only entrance to the room.

Cough.

Clara nearly jumped out of her seat, contemplating turning her chair around to get a better look she though better of it and decided feigning unconsciousness was probably a better idea.

Cough

This cough was different, almost like a murmur of sorts.

Cough "Clara..."

The voice was husky and barely more than a whisper.

"Clara" This time the voice was stronger, clearer. "Clara...I told you not to come after me"
