Lucy followed Natsu through the door into his small shack. He sat on a couch and a cloud of dust rose up out of it. She let out a loud sneeze. "I've never been to your house before."

"Never had a reason I guess."

"Yea...I guess." Lucy let out a long sigh and walked around the room, running her fingers along the dusty items as she passed. "What's eatin ya Lucy?" Natsu had known she was sad but wasn't really sure why. "Was it something that Makoto guy said? I'll beat the crap out the basterd!"

"No it wasn't, um well."

"So it was something he said. Well what was it, what he say to you?"

"He just said I was like Gia."

Confused Natsu stood up and walked over to where Lucy was leaning on a small table. "Who's Gia."

"She's an old friend of me and Makoto. See Makoto, like me, is from a rich home. Although Gia wasn't, we didn't mind, we were all best friends."

"Ok so she doesn't sound bad, what are you so upset about?"

Lucy sighed and went on. "See me and Gia would always joke about who would marry Makoto but one day I noticed that she was all blushy and started being careful what she said around him. I could tell she liked him and so it didn't shock me when shortly after, they started dating."

A tear ran down her cheek, dropping off her chin and landing on her hand, leaving a salty shine on Lucy Fairy Tail crest.

"A few years ago they got married. I guess I was invited but it must have never reached me. Makoto told me that four years ago Gia was killed in an attack just after they had a fight. Supposedly she was walking down a dark street by herself and a group of nasty men took advantage of the situation and she ended up..."

Natsu placed his hand on her shoulder and wiped a tear from her cheek. "So how are you like her?" A stream began to flow from her eyes as her silent cry morphed into a soft blubber. She wrapped her arms around Natsu and cried into his chest.

"He said they were getting a divorce. He said she wasn't the same sweet Gia he fell in love with."

It was then that Natsu understood what was making her so upset. He had told her that she had changed, that Lucy wasn't as great as he remembered that she had disappointed him. "He's not wrong." Shocked Lucy pulled away, tears still streaming down her face. "I just mean you've come along way from that ignorant girl I saved from a self absorbed basterd."

"I know you mean well Natsu so I'll let that slide." She laughed drying her eyes. She looked around the small, dirty room displeasingly. "What do you say we go on a walk?"

"What, my place not girly enough for you?" They laughed and he led her outside.

"Hey you know something I heard Mira and Freed talking about?" Natsu shrugged. "I heard Freed mention that he had a theory that if he were to create a ruin stating that, without an Enema, one could pass from earth-land to Edolas if someone over there replicated the same ruin."

"But there isn't even magic in Edolas."

"That's why its theory, no one can actually prove it."

"That's stupid." Natsu had his hands behind his head as he walked with Lucy back into town. "Why do you live so far from the guild?"

"It gives me and Happy our own space, plus the rents so cheep I don't really have to worry about money."

"Except for food..." Lucy mumbled playfully

"Hey come on your making my hungry."

"Your to easy." They walked in silence for a while, watching the clouds. Natsu's mind filled with thoughts he wished he could say.

'What was I doing? Taking her to my house and nothing! I'm such an idiot. And that Makoto guys such a jerk! How do you look Lucy in the eye and tell her she's a disappointment?! '

Natsu let out a loud huff. "What are you thinking about?" You. He didn't say it. "Nothing."

"Okay...hey it looks like a storms coming we better hurry to the guild."

"Lu-can! Where have you been?"

"Oh um I was with Natsu." Levy let a small 'oo' escape her lips as she looked over at Natsu who was slumped over a table, face down in the wood. "What's with him?"

"Not sure. He seems upset; I wonder if it's something I did?"

"Don't stress Lu-can. Let's get something to eat, are you hungry?" Lucy shrugged and followed behind the blue hair girl.

"So did u hear what Freed was talking about the other day? About trying to go to Edolas?"

"Yea you mean making ruins?"

"Yea but I don't think it would work."

"Why, because there isn't any magic in Edolas? Or any way of communicating with them? That's what Natsu said." Levy shrugged. "But why do you think Freed wants to go to Edolas so bad?"

"Who knows, Freed's a weird dude."

"Its not as much Freed as Luxus that wants to go." Mira stated sweetly from behind the bar.

"What does that mean?"

"It means Luxus is curious and Freed loves to make Luxus happy."

"What's your problem?" Natsu looked up to see Grey poking at him. "Leave me alone."

"What's up with you?" Natsu scooted out his chair and walked toward the door in silence. "Lu-can what were guys talking about? Natsu seems really upset."

"I don't know…" Happy flew in just then holding a huge fish with pride. "Look Natsu! Look how big this fish is!" Natsu just patted Happy on the head and walked out of the guild. Happy followed behind confused.

The next day when Lucy arrived at the guild everyone was focused on Freed. "What's going on?"

Levy explained to Lucy that Freed had decided to go through with his idea and create a ruin that would send someone to Edolas. "But there isn't anyone to do the same on the other side?"

"Freed thinks [if he states in his ruins that cooperation from someone in Edolas isn't necessary] that it might work." Lucy was skeptical but didn't say so. "So who is he sending?"

"Luxus wanted to go but Freed said it might be dangerous so he wants someone else to first."

"Why doesn't he just send himself?"

"He wouldn't be able to keep the ruins stable and be inside them with power surging through them."

"And where's he getting the power?" Levy held up her pen with a smile. "Me."

Levy walked over to Freed a stood next to him waiting for him to tell her when to start. "Does anyone wish to travel to the world of Edolas?" Freed asked hoping to get a willing volunteer. With no luck they decided it would be the fate of who ever was to walk through the ddoors into the guild hall next.

"Are you sure guys? It seems really mean, and what if it's the master? We would all be in trouble then." Mira stated cautiously. "How could we be in trouble if he's in Edolas?"

"Jet!" Levy let out in shock at his carelessness. "Sorry Levy."

Freed set the ruins in front of the door way and levy stood by. "Someone's coming!" Levy nodded at Freed and began writing POWER over and over in the air. Quickly the ruins began to shock and the electricity was visible as the doors opened and Natsu stepped into the guild. He ran into the wall of the ruin and jumped at the shock of power.

The electricity surged through him leaving him fried. "It didn't work." Disappointed Freed shattered the ruin and slumped away hanging his head. "I'm sorry Luxus, I have failed you."

"Well it's nice to see you guys too!" Natsu sat up rubbing his head. "Are you okay?" Lucy ran over worried. "Yea, what the hell was that?" He looked over at Levy who quickly hid the pen behind her back. "Freed and Levy kind of tried to send you to Edolas."
