Dear Readers,
I'm not going to tell you some story that will make you pity me. That is no excuse to keep you guys hanging like that. A lot of things have happened and if you really want to know, you can PM me. But I'm not the type to publicize my problems.
For a long time, I didn't have any inspiration. I was stuck. I had absolutely no where to go. I still don't really know. So, if anyone has anything to request I'm begging you, please tell!
I can never thank you all enough for being so loyal and caring.
But I honestly don't know what to do. I have a few questions for everyone out there.
I don't think I like where the story is going. Where do you think I should go?
Should I delete some chapters and redo them? Or go back and edit my mistakes in previous chapters? What do you guys want to see? Or maybe I could just do over (as in, delete this story and start a new one)?
Please respond! It's great to be back, though, guys.
I have a treat for everyone, though! It's a little bit special, but I thought I'd give it a shot...
"Why are you so afraid of snakes?" Maple asked one day. Maple was spending the night at my house and it was close to midnight. We were pulling an all-nighter. It was a random question and it took me off guard.
"I don't remember." I answered quietly.
"Yes you do." Maple said as I forced myself to think back.
I was five years old...
It was Easter day. It seemed like so long ago. I was wearing my yellow dress and Devin was wearing something dad put him in. We had a ton of people over for an Easter egg hunt. Finnick, Annie, Willow, Ash, Jason, Madge (Jason's mom), and Gale came over that morning. Maple and Johanna were sick.
The sun was barely out, but we were all hunting. Mom gave us the boundaries and we were sent off while the adults talked.
After a few hours of hunting, there was only one egg left. And it was in my sight! I found it!
I remember the glee and giddiness I felt while I was running to it. Finnick found the egg, too. But I had too win. That's the difference. Finnick was going after the egg because I wanted it and he would get gloating rights if he got it. But I wanted the eternal glory of finding the last egg. The last was always the best.
Plus I really wanted to rub it in Finnick's face, too. But that was another problem.
I picked up the lavender egg with gold sparkles and marveled in it's beauty. And then Finnick tackled me. The egg went flying through the air and landed in Devin's basket.
But Finnick and I went tumbling out of the boundaries. Mom was going to be so mad. I didn't want to make mommy mad. She didn't even want to have an Easter party anyway.
"Look what you made me do!" I screeched loudly.
"You should've just given me the egg, Looney." Finnick said.
"Don't call me Looney." I said threateningly quiet. Finnick seemed more scared when I was quiet than when I yelled at him. Interesting.
There was a hiss behind Finnick. I thought it was Devin coming over here with his rattle, but it was a snake.
I turned around at the minute it chose to strike. It bit me on my cheek and I screamed. Finnick and I were, of course, standing in the middle of a snake nest and there was egg yolk around our feet. We weren't so careful.
I started crying, but not because of the pain. And let's face it, my face hurt really badly. But because I was afraid of mom. She was never going to let me go farther than the boundaries ever again. And she was never going to let us have another party!
"Luna, where are you?" Dad called out.
"I am in so much trouble." I whispered as we followed the sound of dad's voice. I took my hair out of the braid mommy made and covered my face with it.
"Hi, daddy! Look at all the eggs I found!" I said feigning excitement.
"That's great, pumpkin. Mommy says it's time to go home for dinner." Daddy said as I nodded. He grabbed my hand and Finnick ran to catch up with Jason, Willow, and Devin.
No one ever found out about the snake biting my face. And no one- except for me- remembers it.
Maple was staring at me expectantly...
"Huh?" I asked.
"You were in a flashback or something. But why are you so afraid of snakes?" Maple asked.
"Oh, yeah. I don't remember." I said shrugging my shoulders.
Maple rolled her chocolate brown eyes and we decided to watch a movie.
I don't know how any of you can possibly forgive me. But thank you for reading, I just kind of put something out so this wasn't completely useless as a chapter.
Did anyone see Catching Fire? I did! It was AMAZING! I really liked it. I also saw Frozen, which was possibly my new favorite Disney movie.
I think that's everything for now, guys.
I promise I'll update and come up with a solution faster!
