Chapter 14

Author's note: Okay back to business. Nothing really to say right now so just go on ahead and read. Wait nope. I know I want to finish this story already because I want too, so if you don't well guess what? I don't give a shit. I'm sick sorry, act weird this way. Anyway it might seem a tad rushed but guess what? Cloud can't stay pregnant forever. So watch out! The baby's coming!

I woke up to wetness. I had at first wanted to just ignore it but than pain shocked me in my lower abdomen, a growing feeling like pressure that made me feel hot and sick, curling into a ball as Sephiroth turned on the light, obviously also awoken from the wetness. "Holy shit!" Sephiroth yelled, scaring the hell out of me as I looked to him like he had two heads. "Cloud your water just broke," he exclaimed, running a hand through his bangs with a slightly panicked expression as I sat up. I looked around me, my heart skipping a beat as I noticed a large stain surrounded me. I looked to Sephiroth and threw a pillow at him. "Dumb ass get me to !" I yelled as I got out of bed slowly, hindered by the sudden pressure as I held my belly, breathing in and out shakily. Holy shit this wasn't happening.

Sephiroth kept looking to me as we drove to the doctors, me wearing a loose shirt and some sweats with my army boots, and Sephiroth in black pants, a half buttoned up white shirt, and some sneakers, looking like shit at the moment. I grit my teeth when the pressure became a persistent pain that seemed to throb every few minutes, taking a deep breath as I held my stomach for dear life. "Fuck! Seph hurry up!" I screamed, Sephiroth wincing a he sped up, my head hitting the head rest as I tried not to start screaming, for once in my life scared as fucking shit. I'm sorry mom for doing this to you, I thought as I breathed in and out, trying to calm myself. We arrived after what seemed forever, Sephiroth hurriedly getting out of the car and slamming the door shut before fast walking to my side, opening my door as I unbuckled, grabbing onto his arm when he reached for me, gritting my teeth as he helped me out.

I was hunched over as we entered, a nurse at the registration desk looking to me and putting a hand to her mouth, waving and ordering at another nurse to get a wheelchair. They sat me down in the wheel chair slowly, Sephiroth never leaving my side at none of the nurses brave enough to make him go and wait in the waiting room. I grabbed onto his hand for comfort as they wheeled me into an all white room with the essentials, helping me get up. I fell to my knees though when pain shot up my spine, crying out as tears began to roll down my cheeks. "Get him onto the bed!" I was guessing the main nurse yelled, two pairs of arms helping me up and onto the bed as came in, one of the nurses pulling off my sweats as Sephiroth came to stand at me side, his hand shaking as it grabbed onto mine. We were both scared.

"He's fully dilated!" a nurse yelled as another finished putting on 's protective stuff, my head falling back onto the pillows as I screamed when an urge to push overcame me, the pain so immense I felt on the verge of fainting. "That's it Cloud," said as he raised my knees and spread them, looking a little to close for my comfort. But with the pain that threatened to murder me I could hardly care, squeezing Sephiroth's hand. "I'm never going to let you fuck me again!" I yelled at him, Sephiroth nodding his head as he stared down where was. "Cloud I know it hurts but I need you to push for me again," said, tears falling down my temples as I sobbed. "For ten seconds this time alright?" he said, Sephiroth squeezing my hand back.

"One, two, three," he began to count, my eyes closing tight and my nose scrunching up as I sat up a little more, pushing with all of the strength I could muster. "Ten," he finished, my entire body falling back exhasutedly. "Breath Cloud, just a few more times and it'll be over," the nurse on the other side of me promised, running her fingers through my hair as I tried to calm myself, taking in sobbing breaths as I just wished for my own death.

"Do you want to see him?"

My eyes opened as started to count again, releasing a scream as I pushed again, feeling as if I was being torn apart from the pelvis up. "I can see the head!" yelled, tapping my ankle as he looked up to me. "Come on Cloud, push," he urged, my eyes closing shut as I shook my head.

"Ready?"

I squeezed Sephiroth's hand as I sat up slightly, pushing down with a sobbing cry, waiting till he counted to ten before falling down on the bed again, feeling nauseous as a thousand needles dug into my spine as my body contracted and I was forced to push again, on the verge of breaking Sephiroth's hand as I screamed as loud as I could. "The heads out! Come on Cloud just one more push," said as I laid defeated, not even feeling I could do anymore.

"A little to late to turn back now. Wouldn't you agree, Cloud?"

I took a deep breath, swallowing as I bit my lip, the voice I now knew as Aerith's urged me to continue, my body fighting against the odds as I pushed again despite how weak I felt, screaming one last time. The sound of a baby's cries were like church bells to my ears as I fell among the sheets again, the yell of it's a boy lost to my ears as Sephiroth stared baffled at the small baby handed to a nurse to clean and blanket after cutting the umbilical cord.

Sephiroth was only able to stare down at the baby as he let go of Cloud's hand, the nurse looking up to him with a tired smile, handing him the small bundle. He gave her a shocked tilt of his lips, looking down at the small child in his arms. Big blue eyes stared up at him, the slitted pupils thinning as it fisted it's small fists, no longer crying. He held him till Cloud delivered the after birth, rocking him in his arms as he took in every aspect of him. The many small red and blue veins that ran over his face, the slightly long eyelashes as he closed his eyes in a blink, Sephiroth feeling dumbfounded. After all these months and they never knew.

"Seph, let me see him," Cloud said tiredly as he sat up, his earlier pain having seem to have gone as he stared at the bundle in his arms. Sephiroth smiled at him as handed him over, Cloud holding him securely in his arms as he stared down at the little monster that had been wrecking havoc on him this past months, a small smile stretching his lips. "He has your nose," Cloud pointed out, a nurse moving his bangs out of his eyes as she stared down at him. "Are you able to breast feed?" she asked, Cloud looking to Seph than back to her. "I don't think so," he replied, the nurse asking Sephiroth to take the baby before she had Cloud remove his shirt, checking some things before declaring he could.

She had Sephiroth give Cloud the baby so he could breast feed him and strengthen their bond. Cloud floundered at first but once they got the baby to latch onto his left nipple it began to drink greedily, Cloud chuckling. "He has your appetite," he joked to Sephiroth who smirked. The nurse let once Cloud got the hang of things to give them some privacy.

We were quiet for a moment, only staring at our little bundle of happiness when a thought popped into my mind. "What are we going to name him?" I asked, Sephiroth looking up to me as he thought. "We'll give him your last name, so I was thinking Sebastian or Lucas," Sephiroth supplied, my nose scrunching up. "Both seem a tad over rated," I pointed out, Sephiroth frowning as i looked back down at our baby. "I was thinking Eli," I whispered, Sephiroth's frown easing away. "His middle name could be Sebastian though," I retorted, Sephiroth nodding his head with a sigh. Eli Sebastian Strife opened his eyes to stared up at me, his small fingers wrapping around my finger.

July 5, in St. Vincent's hospital in Midgar, Eli Sebastian Strife was born. It was the beginning of many closed doors that had yet to be opened. And in the slums under the plate of Midgar, Aerith stood beneath the moonlight in her night gown in the church she had taken upon as her own, a smile stretching her lips. "You see, everything, is alright."

Epilogue

I walked down the hallway of mine and Sephiroth's two room house, pushing the door to the nursery open. Light from a night light shown and brightened the room dimly, the cries of Eli bringing me forward. I walked to his crib, looking over the edge down at him. Since I had given birth to him two weeks before he had grown barely there strands of blonde hair, his small red and blue veins less noticeable as I picked him up, holding his head in one hand as I stared down at him. His cheeks had the finest detail of veins as his mouth opened to release a cry, tears burning my eyes as I held him more securely in my arms, walking to the rocking chair on the wall opposite of his crib, loosening my robe to expose my noticeably larger chest. I held him so he could latch onto my nipple, holding it as he drank greedily, beginning to rock in my chair as I hummed a tune under my breath.

I heard the front door open, waiting till I heard Sephiroth's heavy footsteps stop at the door before looking up, meeting his tired eyes. He leaned against it's frame, watching us lazily. "If your thinking about having another, it's not going to happen," I joked lightly, Sephiroth smirking as he pushed off the frame and walked over to where I sat, touching Eli's head gently. "If we did, at least we would be more prepared for what was to come," he pointed out, looking to me. "You can't go back to the training for Soldier till the doctor says it's alright, you know that Cloud?" Sephiroth said, a sad smile touching my lips as I looked back to Eli.

"I know, that's why I was thinking of returning next year when it starts up again. I want to achieve the dream I came here for Seph. And I will, but for now, Eli is more important," i said almost sadly. His eyes opened as he looked up to me, his small hand resting on my breast as he suckled. I smiled, a tear falling down my cheek. For him, I will stay.
