A/N: Firstly, I noticed an error in the previous chapter. I named the two men who transport the team into the interrogation room Seth and Joe. Looking back, I realised that Harper's first name is also Joe, so I'm changing the second man's name to James.
And just to clear things up, I'm not one of those writers who can update every other day, and have a strict schedule. I'm a nearly-teenage girl (just over one month to go!) and my life is super-hectic! I write when I can, but I do a lot of after-school activities and get a lot of homework. Sometimes I'm too tired to write, and sometimes I write a bit, but then I have to do something else, like homework or looking after my little sister. So sorry to all of those people who want me to update faster, I'll try my best but I'm not promising anything, and thanks to those people who've stuck with this story.
Disclaimer: Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way. I do not own NCIS, so don't sue me, okay? (Feeling festive… In September =D)
Chapter 8: Ziva
I feel weak. Tony's trying to tell me that I'm not, but it's not working. I was taught to mask my emotions and cover pain, but all of my skills seem to have left me. The situation brings back memories; memories best left forgotten. But they're not, and everything seems to induce flashbacks of Somalia. I sit alone in the corner, shivering and trying to stop the salty tears taking residence in my eyes.
He strides across the room, stopping at the figure huddled up in the corner. He violently jerks her head up by yanking on her hair. Cold black eyes meet wide hazel orbs, filled with terror.
The flashback is interrupted when a pair of strong arms pulls me into a soft body. I gasp, before realising that I'm safe and that the arms belong to Tony. He once again rocks me back and forth, whispering words of comfort into my hair. I can feel eyes trained on the back of my head, and know that somebody's watching, but that doesn't bother me. The two men standing in the doorframe concern me more. For this time, I know that they're here for me.
I slowly disentangle myself from Tony and shakily make my way over to them. The bigger one, Seth I think he's called, grabs my arms, painfully twisting them behind my back. I hiss in pain, and see eight concerned eyes staring at me. With one last fleeting glance, the men march me out of the room, across the hallway, and into another.
It's all I can do to stop myself from violently puking as I see the blood splattered on the table, floor and walls. Joe Harper sits at the table, a creepy smile distorting his features. He gestures for me to take a seat, and I have no choice but to oblige, as he begins my interrogation.
"Miss David. I've been looking forward to your turn the most. As have Seth and James here. You see, Miss Sciuto wasn't quite our cup of tea. But you my dear, most certainly are. Let's get straight to the point. Who killed my brother?" He keeps his voice calm, but there's a threatening undertone to it. I know that this is a situation where the skills I was taught at Mossad will be useful.
"I do not know," I say, taking great care to keep my voice level. Any sign of fear in my voice can instantly give away even the best planned lies. He shakes his head.
"Ah, but you do Miss David. And you'd better tell me the truth now," he says.
"I have already told you. I do not know. It happened very quickly. I did not see."
"I still believe you're lying, and there's a big punishment for lying. I've already told you that Seth and James were looking forward to you. Now you get to see why. Seth, you may go first."
My heart rate increases rapidly as Seth yanks me out of my chair by my arm – causing another wave of pain to shoot through my ribs – and pins me up against the wall. And suddenly I'm back in Somalia, and this man is not Seth, but Saleem or one of his followers.
He pulls her up to his body, roughly pressing his lips towards hers and worming his tongue into her mouth. She gasps in protest and tries to push it out with no avail. His hands are rough on her frail body; one tightly clasping her wrist and the other threaded carelessly into her hair.
As he rips my top off, I'm in two worlds – past and present. The only one I desire to be in is the future, when this pain is over. I blink, and I see Saleem's evil face leering over me. I blink again, and Seth's toothless grin hits me in the face.
Her clothes are now in shreds on the floor, as he steps back to admire what was once a beautiful body, before it was tarnished with ugly purple bruises. He has a pack of matches, and takes great pleasure in lighting each one and watching it burn, before tossing onto her naked frame. She squirms in pain as each flame hits and scolds, but hides her true pain well.
Suddenly, in one fleeting movement, he's on top of her as she lies motionless on the ground. He makes quick work of his pants, and before she knows it, he's thrusting his hips towards her, plunging into her.
It feels so awful, I just want to die right there. Anything must be better than this. As he enters me, I scream out again, louder than before. My voice now hoarse, I mix Hebrew with English; Seth with Saleem. Soon, he's finished, and I slump down to the floor as he releases me, tears silently cascading down my cheeks. Just as I think it's over, James strides over to me, and the whole process is repeated again.
He finally finishes, throwing her down onto the cold floor where she was when he entered the room. He walks out of the door without a backward glance, slamming the door shut. She's too exhausted to move, but can't be seen as weak so she somehow manages to drag herself back over to the corner. She sits there and prays it'll never happen again and that it was just a one-off. Her prayers are ignored.
I let my body fall limp, and give up trying to fight. My screams ceased long ago, and now I'm just waiting for it to end. Finally he stops, and I'm lifted back onto the chair and turned to face Harper. He's still smiling, which suddenly ignites a lone fuse inside me. I leap out of my chair and swear at him in a mix of English, Hebrew, French and Spanish. Seth and James push me back down, and I immediately quiet when I'm threatened with another round.
"Anything you want to tell me now?"
"No," I whisper, so quiet it's barely audible. But it seems to reach him, as he gives a short nod to Seth and James, and they silently lead me back to the other room.
As soon as I enter, the entire team stands. I collapse to the floor, but before I can hit the ground, I'm lifted into a pair of familiar arms, and gently placed onto the bed. I make no effort to fight as I'm swarmed by my concerned friends. I just concentrate on keeping the memories and flashbacks away.
I only begin to pay attention to my surroundings when I notice that Harper is stood in the doorway. I try to sit up, but am pushed back by eight gentle hands. "What're you doin' here?" Gibbs growls, his voice low and dangerous.
Harper smiles. "Well, nobody confessed. I was hoping to at least get one clue from one of you. But it seems I was mistaken. James thought you'd cover for each other too. That's why he installed hidden microphones in this room. There's on in the handle of the dresser, and another in the lining of the chaise. I can hear every word you say."
We take a minute to process the news, before realisation simultaneously dawns on each of us. Harper appears to have noticed, as he continues speaking.
"Yes, that means I heard your earlier conversations. I know that Ziva David killed my brother. And now, she will die."
A/N#2: Well I did have a bigger twist planned, but then I realised my desired ending wouldn't fit in with it, so I changed it. Hope you liked it, and please review. I have got like no experience on sex/rape and on writing sex/rape scenes (it'd be really disturbing if I did) so sorry if it's off. I'll try to update ASAP. I've already started the next chapter anyway, but if anyone's got any ideas/suggestions then I'm all ears.
So, the burning question, how was 10x01, Extreme Prejudice? I'm British, so I don't get to see it until January 2013. But I know it premiered in America the other night. I'd really appreciate it if somebody would take the time to PM me and give me a brief summery of what happened. I've looked it up on the internet, but I'd like more info.
And the same if anybody watched the CSI Season 13 premiere, which also doesn't come to the UK until Jan '13. Thanks guys.
