The store was closing for the night. Everyone in the city was turning in, Solomon and his family went to bed and the toy store was once again silent.
Until the clock struck midnight.
The toys came to life and they were looking around for when Gurimo was around. To their surprise there is no sign of the evil Jack-in-the-box anywhere, when the toy soldiers came to life they stretched and they looked around and they are also surprised that Gurimo was no where in sight.
"Where is Gurimo?" asked a rag doll.
A teddy bear was looking back and forth. "I don't see him, not that I'm complaining or anything."
Raphael and Valon come out of the box with the other toy soldiers and they start spreading out. Tonight was the night that they are going to take down Gurimo once and for all, Raphael was preparing the troops and Valon was ready to destroy Gurimo to avenge his comrade. The young soldier was holding his weapon in determination as he stood by Raphael.
"Alright men," Raphael declares, "Tonight is the night that we stop Gurimo once and for all. For the past few nights he has taken control over the toy shop and has brought to ruins, but this is the night that we take take it back! We have been given the gift of life and we should have our freedom while the humans are asleep. We not allow Gurimo to take that away from us."
Valon exclaimed. "Let's get tha' wanker and end this once an' fr' all!"
The toy soldier's started marching.
In the other room, Violet woke up. She realized that it wouldn't be long until Gurimo woke up and try to take her again, something she feared for weeks.
"I better get out of here before he wakes up." Violet says quietly.
As she started to walk away quietly, she bumped into something. She became irritated.
"What in the world!?" She says, when she looked up she saw a pair of grey eyes. They were narrowed yet soft as they looked at her.
Violet froze in disbelief as her eyes locked with them. She stood back a bit as she observed the Tin Solider, she nearly lost her breath.
Alister smirks, "It's been a while," he says, "you haven't changed."
It wasn't long until Violet pounced on Alister, both the ballerina and Tin Solider fell to the ground with Violet hugging Alister tightly and cutting off his air supply.
Violet had tears in her eyes, "Alister!" she sobbed, "It's you! It's really you!"
Alister's eye twitched, "Actually you did change, I think you gained weight, and if you don't mind I would like to breath."
Violet lets go of him and looks at him crying, she smiled at him and wipes her eyes.
Alister's face softened and gave her a small smile."...I'm home Violet."
Violet hugs Alister again, she felt a rush of pure happiness through her body as she held the red-headed soldier. Feeling his warmth and felt a great deal of comfort for the first time in weeks since he vanished. Alister hugged her back, brushing her hair with his fingers, taking in the scent of her hair and never letting go.
Violet sniffed, until she smelt an unpleasant oder, she shot her eyes open and looks up at Alister.
"...Alister...why do you smell like fish?"
Alister opened his eyes and started to remember his less than pleasant trip into the ocean after leaving the sewers. While being swallowed by a giant fish and was inside its stomach.
A memory he wishes to forget.
Alister shuddered."...Let's just say the sewer rats were more welcoming than the ocean. And I never want to see or hear about fish again."
Violet simply complies. "I'll take your word for it."
Violet sits on top of Alister and hold his face. She smiled as Alister held her waist, she started to lower her face to his and captured his lips in a kiss. It was something neither of them wanted to end.
Gurimo was starting to wake up. Tonight was going to be the night that he takes Violet, ignoring her protests and cries.
He was going to have her.
Gurimo peeks through his box, "Alright my pretty little Ballerina, no more games-" he froze from shock as he saw Violet, but she was not alone and was on top of a toy.
When she moved aside, he saw Alister, who was alive and well. He saw ten shades of red.
"No!" Gurimo exclaimed to himself. "How can this be!? I got rid of him!"
Violet breaks the kiss and looks at Alister with worry. "Alister, we can't stay here. We got to get out of here now."
Alister was confused. "Why? What's wrong?"
Suddenly, the Jack in the box popped opened and a very angry Gurimo glared at Alister with steam almost coming out of his ears.
Alister and Violet were shocked, "Oh, that's why." Alister says.
"Yeah." Violet says.
Gurimo pounded his large fists on the table in rage, "How dare you soldier! I got rid of you to finally have Violet!"
"Well that didn't happen now did it!?" Alister shouted, "I'm back now and you will not touch her! And you're going to face the consequences!"
"What consequences!?"
"For one, you tried to violate Violet, then you tried to kill me by throwing me out the window where I ended up being thrown back and forth by rats trying to use me as a chew toy, and then fell into the ocean where I ended up in the stomach of a fish. I've been having a very bad week from that and someone is going to pay, so it might as well be you!"
Gurimo laughs psychotically and began to attack. He pounded his fists on the table, trying to hit Alister but he dodges the attacks. Alister brought out his toy gun and used the sharp end of the top to stab the Jack-in-the-box on the hand, meanwhile Violet was trying to think of something to try to stop the maniac and save Alister.
Raphael and Valon were heading to the room with their soldiers behind them. Valon didn't bother showing his anger as his gripped his weapon, ready to end Gurimo to end his treachery, and to avenge his fallen friend.
Raphael kept a calm composure, but deep inside he was angry and lost whatever he had left of his incredible patience. He wanted to end the insanity Gurimo had caused, and for the fall of his dear comrade.
This will end tonight, one way or another.
"Get back here prat!" Gurimo exclaimed at Alister.
Alister dodged another of Gurimo attacks, but he wasn't sure how long he can keep up with it however. He was starting to get tired and Gurimo's rage was the toy's fuel of energy that doesn't seem to be running out.
Violet was looking around to find something to stop Gurimo. Something caught the corner of her eye, she turned and saw a long piece of ribbon the was on a doll Solomon was working on but took it out to work more on the dolls hair. She looked up and observed Gurimo's height and saw that he had a difficult time moving around and he can't really keep up with his weight. She looked around and saw the fire near the table, the flames were dancing furiously and orange,yellow and red colors were glowing and Violet stared at it.
She got an idea.
Gurimo picked up Alister and threw him against the wall and Alister let out a painful cry. He fell to his side and groaned while Gurimo smirked.
Gurimo laughs, "I finally got you now, soldier!"
Suddenly something hit Gurimo at the back of the head. He yelled out and turned around and saw there was a rubber ball rolling away, he knew that he was hit from it.
Gurimo growled. "What is this!?"
Gurimo was hit again by another rubber ball. He looked down from the table and was wide-eyed, he saw the toy soldiers, and some other toys, with a catapult being filled with more rubber balls.
Raphael gave the signal, "Fire!" he commanded.
Two toy soldiers released the catapult and fired at Gurimo, the Jack-in-the-box shouted in anger.
"You little pests!" He exclaimed down below at the toys.
Raphael glared at him, "It's over Gurimo! You have caused enough damage around this place! You took away our freedom and we only get to have this time for ourselves from human eyes from midnight till the sun rises."
"That's righ!" Valon exclaimed, "And not only are you goin' to get your bum kicked fr takin' tha' away from us! You're also gonna pay fr killing Alister!"
It suddenly hit Gurimo, they all still believe Alister is dead. That gave him the advantage against them, Alister is unconscious and when the time is right, he'll pick up the fallen soldier and rip him apart right in front of them. They will be shocked, horrified, devastated and be completely defenseless from the shock and give Gurimo the opportunity to destroy them all.
He grinned evilly.
Violet went to Alister side to wake him up, she lifted him into her arms and shook him gently.
"Alister, Alister wake up!" She exclaimed quietly to avoid getting Gurimo's attention.
Alister moaned as he woke up, "Violet?" he says hoarsely.
"..No it's the tooth fairy." She replies flatly.
Alister was annoyed by that response. He sat up and winced from the pain and rubbed his head, "Well that was unpleasant," he says dryly, "How are we going to stop him?"
Violet looks at him. "Would you believe me if I told you that I had an idea.
Alister looks at her. "...I'm listening."
Violet leans down and whispers her idea. Alister looks over to what Violet is talking about and started to see what she was talking about.
He looks at her with worry. "Are you sure it will work?"
Violet nods, "Trust me, all we have to do is get Gurimo to the edge of the table. Now when I give the signal, you pull the end of the ribbon at the other side."
Alister was still unsure. "It seems too dangerous Violet, I don't want you putting yourself in danger."
"I know Alister, but it's the only chance we got," Violet says, "...please trust me."
Alister was still worried. However, when he looked into Violet's eyes he saw the fear in them, the uncertainty she had within herself like Alister does to.
He sighed and took her hand, she looks at him in surprise as she saw him smiling.
"I trust you, let's do this."
Violet smiles back at Alister.
Violet and Alister heard shouting from down below. They ran over to the edge of the table and saw the toy soldiers firing at Gurimo, and Gurimo was throwing sharp pencils at them like darts.
"Take that you little worms!" Gurimo exclaimed as he threw a sharp pencil at them.
Alister looks at Violet, " Violet," he says, "go to the other end and get ready, I'll get his attention."
Violet ran to the other end and grabbed the end of the bow, Alister picks up a rubber ball and throws it at Gurimo's head. Gurimo turned around and glared at Alister.
"You're going to regret that!" He shouted.
"Than come and get me!" Alister exclaimed and ran, with Gurimo chasing him.
From the ground Raphael was in shock, along with Valon and the other soldiers.
"Wait, that voice?" Raphael says, "Is that?"
Valon went wide-eyed and had a grin on his face, "It's Alister!" he exclaims happily, "'e's alive! Raph 'e's alive!"
Raphael never felt so relieved, then he went wide-eyed in realization.
"Wait! Gurimo is after him!" Raphael exclaims.
Valon felt his stomach turn from his realization of Raphael's words. "Oh no! An' we can't get up there in time! to save 'im and Viole'!"
Guirmo was chasing Alister to the end of the table, Violet was waiting for the right moment to get Gurimo to lose his balance and have him fall into the fire pit.
Alister ran while Gurimo hopped on the table chasing him. There was no time to waste, he made it and grabbed the other end of the bow. Gurimo stopped but he tripped on the crack of the table and was rolling his arms, Violet had to do something quick. She found another rubber ball and threw it at Gurimo, he started to trip forward.
"Now!" Violet shouts.
Alister and Violet pulled the bow and Gurimo tripped over it and was now falling from the table. His eyed widened in horror as he saw he was falling into the flames.
Suddenly, the young couple felt something pulling them. They realized that since they are still holding onto the bow they are being pulled off the table along with Gurimo and into the fireplace. Raphael and Alister watched in horror as they saw their fellow soldier and the ballerina being pulled along with Gurimo into their demise.
As they fell, Violet and Alister looked into each other's eyes. They gave each other sad smiles, but even though they are about to die, at least they will die together. Alister grabbed Violet's hand.
The fireplace reacted violently, the soldiers jumped and knew that the flames were fed. Valon and Raphael were shell-shocked, Alister was now gone for good this time and so was Violet.
Valon had tears swelling up in his eyes and started crying and Raphael comforted him, trying to hide his own tears. Some of the soldiers took off their hats in respect while the others bowed their heads in sorrow.
Gurimo was gone, but so were Violet and Alister, Tin Soldier and ballerina.
Forever.
