Ren threw himself on the cool grass by the stream. He had no idea how in the world he landed up here. He was just so furious with himself, and he was still furious, so he got to his car and drove to no particular direction and fate made him end up here. Here of all places in the world! Here where it will hurt the most. But it will be beneficial in one case. At least he would be killing himself at a place filled with beautiful memories. The more painful, the better. He deserves pain and agony not peace and harmony. He looked around and saw the spherical rocks which Kyoko once claimed to be hamburgers and a sly smile curved on his lips. But his eyes betrayed the emotions on his face. The sadness they preserved in them could make you cry just by glancing at them once. Ren had taken off the contact lens so now his sapphire orbs were visible for the world to see. Those orbs were deeper than the pacific. You could lose yourself once you stare in them. They held such intense emotions that the cool facade he composed all the time seemed like a child's play. Today those orbs could outmatch any tempest into intensity.

Ren stared at the clear water reflecting his image. What anyone can see in it was a well-educated, well-mannered, famous, rich, handsome, sexy, heart throb of Japanese women, top actor and film star of Japan and all in all an extremely successful man.

But what Ren saw was a completely different image. He saw was a broken murderer who loved someone too much but does not deserve any love in return. A bloody ragged killer who deserved to die a terrible death.

The malignant thought formed a scornful smirk on his face. He bent down and touched the water gently. The ripples formed shattered the perfect reflection gently but swiftly. It was the perfect place to end all this. A painful death was all he needed and he knew he would get it.

Ren Knew it was cowardly. He was running away. But had enough. He had suffered enough. He can't help it. He can't take it anymore. This was the only way. People think that beautiful people have beautiful fate but how wrong was that fact. If that was true, then from the very beginning of the lives people would have been classified according to beauty and only beautiful would have been successful. But that's not true. Ren was showing this to the world. He was perfect in the eyes of the world. His fate seemed perfect as well. But every perfection has its dark price. His fate was the dark price he was paying. So if you think that fate and beauty are related then you are at mistake. It is the most definitely not true.

Panting hard, Kyoko kept running. She didn't know where she was going but there was a strong urge in her that motivated her to just keep on. It was dark; pitch black to be specific. Kyoko had always been afraid of dark. Since her childhood, dark clear nights always indicated the approach of some storm. She hated darkness so she was running. Maybe the urge was to get her away from this darkness. But something was still missing. Something was missing from this puzzle. Something she couldn't put a finger on. It was so familiar but still so strange so unknown. Kyoko was bewildered but she didn't lose her pace.

Soon a strange light became visible. With the growing light, her heart started pounding harder into her chest. Something was very wrong and she knew it.

Her legs were aching badly. Hot pain was rushing in her body. She knew with this growing agony she won't be able to reach the light. But the strange temptation was growing stronger. She has had to reach it no matter what.

The promise gave her a renewed strength which was what she needed there. Her feet knew there co-ordinates and legs were given the directions. The energy had been supplied. Kyoko was determined to find the source of the temptation.

Everyone in the room was anxious about the couple. Since Kyoko fainted after hearing the terrible news of losing her child, Ren was nowhere to be found. Lory sent Sebastian to search for him but he came with only one answer. Three hours had passed but still nothing came from his behalf.

"Tsuruga-san is nowhere to be found, Sir. I have looked very possible place he could have gone." Lory was furious by Ren's absence. It was true that he was broken and sad but it was also true that he was needed here more than where he was right now.

Four hours had passed since the accident. Four ghastly hours changed everything in Kyoko and Ren's life.

It was a normal February day. They were happy and cheerful. But could they have guessed that the day would end with one of them in a hospital bed, their daughter dead and one of them suicidal? This known as fate. And this is no child's play.

Kanae never believed in fate. She believed that whatever a person wishes happens. Nothing bad happens unless you in some corner of your heart have desired it. But today her views were changed. Today she found out that there was something as fate for she knew that Kyoko never desired this. She knew that no matter what her friend thought of her future she never wanted this. Today fate proved itself to Kanae that it existed. Kanae saw it in Kyoko and today she saw how worse life could get.

Her friend was torn up badly. Kanae knew Kyoko was attached to the child after all no matter what the circumstances had been, she was the mother. Kanae saw the love in her eyes. Kanae knew how much Kyoko desired this child. Kyoko wanted Ren but thought she couldn't get him. But this child was becoming her link to him. This child will connect them both. Kanae saw how important this child was. She knew that Ren was relying on the child for the same purpose as Kyoko. But they were not selfish. They loved the infant as well. They both had grown to love it over the period of time. It was a part of their lives now. They both were deeply wounded and Kanae could see that. She was hurt to see them like this. She hated fate. She hated life. She hated the justice that life calls itself. But what Kanae doesn't know was that maybe fate was laughing at her hating it. Maybe fate was laughing at her questioning its justice since Kanae has not yet encountered the end of the story.

Julie and Kuu were also present in the anxious environment. As soon as they got informed about Kyoko accident, they boarded their private jet and flew to Japan. Julie was currently shedding tears in Kuu's comforting chest after being informed about the real story. Kuu, the legendary actor, was unable to act through this stage of life and allowed the betraying tears to flow on his cheeks.

The only sounds the room heard were that of comforts or cries and a continuous frequent beep of machines keeping track of Kyoko's heart. Everything was going on the same. No information about Ren and no recovery from Kyoko, but then out of blue Kyoko's heart beat fastened.

Every head in the room turned towards the machine counting Kyoko's heart beats that were increasing by every passing minute. Kuu, Yashiro and Lory hurried to call the doctor while Julie and Kanae stayed by each other holding hands and praying to the God they never thought about before to save their beloved Kyoko.

Ren threw away his shoes with one jolt. One will not recommend you to walk barefooted on this rocky shore. The rocks were sharp enough to leave deep cuts if you don't walk carefully.

Looking over, his eyes landed at the spherical rocks which Kyoko contrasted with hamburgers. With the same sly smile, he walked over to them. With each step, the little pebbles drove themselves deeper in the sensitive skin of his feet. Soon Ren was leaving a faint yet clear trail of blood behind him. Agony was rushing in his body but Ren has faced worst. These little pebbles can't hurt him.

Soon he reached his destination. With a delicate bow, he picked up the biggest one. Ren's smile increased. He held it up to his face and old memories of a little laughing Kyoko flashed in front of his eyes. He could see her face in the big rock.

"I wonder why I was even born. If I was to decide, I would never have allowed such a scoundrel to live" He said as he caressed the image of his love's cheek and tears cascaded along his own.

He wanted so badly to kill himself for hurting her. How could he allow himself to live after taking two lives? He was a murderer! A murderer if not in the eyes of law than in that of humanity. He knew that he deserved to die. But there something still in his heart. Something was left. After all that has passed, there still a wish. A wish that simply refused to kill itself. Ren fought a hard war with it, trying hard to prove that it was unreasonable but lost. The wish was just too strong. At last Ren surrendered before it.

And what was that wish?

Ren's heart wanted to let out the secret it had been holding for such a long time. The secret so dear to it. The secret Ren cherished. Ren had tried to hold himself from telling this secret since a long time. This particular secret was guarded with the most security in his heart. He never allowed his mind to try to slip it out of him. He always felt this secret will hurt the one he loved the most. So he would just preserve the secret and the feeling forever. Just the warmth of the memories will be enough for him, he thought. But now the heart had enough. It had gone through a lot. Now if everything was going to be finished then it wanted to confess out loud his love for Kyoko. No matter what had happened, Ren knew that his love was not fake. He indeed loved Kyoko more than himself. He just always ends up accidentally hurt her more than he could make happy.

So after the tough war, Ren decided to listen to his heart. He will confess his love to her. She will know that he loved her. But he maybe he won't be able to live to see her hatred…

Running with the fuel the renewed strength had provided, Kyoko reached closer and closer to the strange light. The strange sensation of familiarity was becoming clearer now. Kyoko could now figure out a new characteristic of the bizarre situation. The scent was bringing a cozy feeling. She knew the scent! It was_

The realization increased her speed. Now she was sure something was wrong. The scent was filled with something strange. Something she couldn't point out. Something wrong was happening and she was going too late.

Her legs couldn't keep up any more but she could not stop. She was just too close. Curiosity was building up with the same rate as that of fear.

She has to reach and she knew she will. With every step she grew closer, soon Kyoko was standing in the amidst of the blinding light and the deafening dark.

Her eyes grew wide with fear as realization hit upon her. The scene in front of her eyes was no ordinary. It was hell for her. The hell where she was not to bear the pain but to see the one she loved the most in the entire universe bear it.

In front of her lay Ren on the ground withering with pain clutching his chest hard as if someone was stabbing it. His eyes were forced shut as if closing them would lessen the pain. Sweat covered his divine form. Kyoko's body refused to move as she noticed the blood on his hands and where he was clutching his chest. Groans of pain escaped his throat and hit her ear drums in an agonizing fashion.

Groaning and screaming with anguish, he writhed about on the floor, clutching his body. His eyes were watery with the sheer pain and his breathing came out in sharp, shallow rasps. Sweat dripped down the side of his face and covered his fore head in a thin sheen.

"H-help," he croaked, his desperate tone made his words almost inaudible, but they still caught her attention.

Kyoko's body was so frozen with fear that her mind could barely register a thing. So to gain consciousness, her eyes tried wander around but were brought with more shock.

The strange light that Kyoko was following, it was above them. There were thousands of bubbles glowing above their heads each with Ren's memory. Some of them even showed her sleeping. Some showed him playing with her hair when she was sleeping and in one he kissed her cheek while she was asleep.

Kyoko had lost her mental control. Nothing was registered in her mind. Her mind had lost contact with her body. Her body had gone numb and she had fallen on her knees. Her breathing gone shallow and came out in rasps. She fell so close to Ren that the blood trickling from him fell on one of her hand. But Kyoko barely noticed anything. All she could notice were the memory bubbles popping away as Ren's breathing got shallower. She couldn't understand a thing. She didn't know what to do. Her heart was racing so fast that any moment it could explode.

Kyoko sat lifeless as in front of her Ren groaned and screamed in agony. She was as limp and motionless as that of a statue not even moving a single eyelid.

But then suddenly things took a new turn. The popping bubbles increased their pace but that's not what got Kyoko's attention.

Ren groaned,"Ky-kyoko" Kyoko's head snapped in the direction of the voice. Steadily but rapidly all the occurring events registered in her mind and she snapped out of her trauma. Kyoko rushed towards his side.

Taking his face in lap, cupping it gently, she tried to control her tears while consoling him.

"Nothing is going to happen Ren. You'll be all right. I promise…" Kyoko continued her rant of consoling him but it was actually consoling herself.

Ren's condition was worsening. Now since he had turned towards her, Kyoko could see some part of the scar. To her horror, Ren had been stabbed near the heart. The blood was flowing rapidly.

"It—all—my—fault" Ren croaked in a broken voice.

"Shh!" Kyoko placed a finger at his lips. "Don't waste energy. Everything will be all right. Don't worry" Kyoko could stop the tears from falling. Her heart was hurting badly seeing him in this condition. How could she ever live if something happened to him? She was already hurt. Her daughter was already gone. But if Ren went away as well what she would do. Kyoko was hugging Ren face to her chest warmly. Crying; she never noticed when he stopped moving, when the bubbles vanished.

Kyoko felt a bizarre cold feeling. She never felt cold when she was with Ren. He was always so warm so gentle that all the cool rushed away. Rubbing her red eyes, Kyoko looked down at Ren's limp body and her heart forgot to beat.

Kyoko was alone. She was all alone. In the dark night, there was no light. She was sitting on the floor all alone. Ren wasn't here. Fear crept in every cell of her body. She needed to leave this place. She needed Ren. Where was he? Was he all right? What happened to the wound? Was it still bleeding? Was he hurt? Or the last question was so terrifying that even thinking about it made shivers run down her spine.

Did he leave her as well?

Kyoko gathered herself and rushed to every direction she could figure calling out his name. Hoping deep down in her heart that may be he will come back.

"Kyoko-san!" Kyoko stopped dead in her track. Her every cell snapped in the direction of the voice. She knew it was not Ren but before she could even recognize it, she was running towards it.

Everyone in the room was anxious. The doctor came running to check on the patient. Her heart beat was accelerating with each growing second and she mumbling Ren's name.

"Kyoko-san! Kyoko-san!" Doctor Benkia shook her shoulders slightly as he called her name. No later than two second, Kyoko snapped out of the deadly nightmare breathing heavily and looking around with wide terrorized eyes.

Kuu was the first one to understand the situation and rush to her side.

As soon as Kyoko found him by her side, she gave up every desire to be brave and began to sob in his chest.

"Kyoko, don't worry. We are here for you." Kuu said as he soothed his daughter with tears in his own eyes. By now the doctor had explained Lory that Kyoko was just having a nightmare.

Kyoko was so shocked at the current happening that she didn't even know what she was crying at. After a minute, she calmed down a bit and left Kuu.

"Where is Ren?" Everyone knew this was coming but no one knew how to handle it. How can they tell her that after he heard that his daughter died he is nowhere to be found? How could she handle two big shocks together? They knew life had made her strong but strength had limits.

Kyoko looked around the room to search for him but he wasn't there. She hoped someone would tell her that he was out to the bathroom or something but everyone kept glancing at their feet.

This is when realization dawned at her.

"He is gone. Isn't he?" Kyoko voice was a mere whisper but everyone still heard it.

"Kyoko, we searched everywhere but…" Kanae tried to search but Kyoko was lost in her thoughts. Suddenly the nightmare made sense. Ren's words made sense. The scent made sense. The bubbles made sense. It was all related.

Kyoko was terrified at her own discovery. Ren said it was his fault in the nightmare and he had a broken heart. The memories are replaying as bubbles or film like in old myths they say that when a person dies his whole life flashes upon his eyes.

REN WAS TRYING TO KILL HIMSELF!

Kyoko pulled out all the needles from her body. Kanae and Julie hurried to her side trying to stop her.

"Kyoko stop." Kanae tried to push her back on the bed but all in vain.

"Sweetie, Kuon will be back anytime. Don't worry!" Julie's knew her words were not even convincing herself but what choice do they have.

"You don't understand…" Kyoko insisted as she tried to break free. Seeing no escape she spilled the beans unwillingly. "…HE WILL KILL HIMSELF"

Everyone in the room froze. Julie turned as pale as a sheet.

"How…?"

"I just know. Trust me." The confidence in her voice insisted them to trust her. But they still don't have a clue where he was.

"But we don't know where he is." Lory put forward the combined worry.

"Kyoto" Kyoko's voice was determined. It was not of a broken girl's who swore of revenge. It was not of a broken mother whose daughter just died. It was that of a determined wife and lover who knew where to find her love. She was sure that she will save him. She won't let fate win this game. She had enough with being the pawn. She will win this game. She will save Ren. No matter what happens, Kyoko would turn over the fates decision if she had to save Ren. She was not going to let go of Ren. She found love. She found out how to love. She found out a person to love. She found a person worthy to love. She was not letting go now. Fate had played enough. She had suffered enough. Ren was going to live. HE WILL LIVE! Kyoko was willing to sacrifice her love if she had to save him.

Ren, sitting in the middle of a forest at night, was smiling as he caressed the cheek of imaginary Kyoko. But in reality he was only caressing the frame of the rock. The rock had sharp frame. As his finger came in contact with the sharp frame, it left deep cuts on them. Streaks of blood left the finger and slid down the rock forming a straight line. The sharp pain brought Ren out of his fantasy; he looked down and was shocked at the mess he had created.

HE was about to go and wash the rock clean if the malignant notion had not appeared in his mind. Ren looked down at his feet at the number of the rocks. There were plenty for the purpose and then he looked at himself.

"Yes, indeed there was plenty for the purpose" Ren thought as a smirk formed on his lips and he began his work.

He was going to die but not without telling his feelings to Kyoko.
