Chapter 6

This might get confusing. Just a warning.

Riley's POV

We continued through the tomb with a gun trained on my back the entire time. It was unnerving believe me. I remember the letter my parents gave me. I didn't tell a soul that it had more than just a sentence on it. It had a whole list of instructions on how to navigate through the tombs, without hitting any booby traps.

I led Ian through the tombs, avoiding the booby traps. I had memorized the map, I stared at that letter so much. We were getting closer to the heart of the tomb. There were a few traps there, but they could be easily avoided if you knew where to step.

When I made it to the door at the heart of the tomb, I stopped and examined the door and the ground.

"Why'd we stop?" he asked.

"Be careful. This room is full of booby traps" I said, the continued forward. I had my flashlight on as we entered the room. I placed one foot in front of the other. Then I had to start sidestepping in strange place. Ian followed my moves. I looked forward and saw it. It wasn't a treasure, well it was, but not like the Templar or Cibola. It was a necklace. A necklace that could destroy the world. And I was about to just give it to Ian.

When we arrived at the center, Ian looked down at it. It had a long, golden chain, and a single charm at the bottom. The charm was a just a simple circle, but the center was glowing. Ian then hit my on the side of the face with the butt of the gun.

"No! Ian! You can't take that!" I shouted.

"Watch me" he said, picking up the necklace. Then he lifted his gun and pointed at me. He shot. Once, twice, three times. The first one hit my leg, the second my shoulder, and the third my stomach. Then Ian went running from the room, leaving me there to die.

I picked up my phone, and slowly dialed 911(or whatever it is in Egypt, couldn't find it online). AN operator answer.

"Hey. This is gonna sound crazy, but I was just shot. I'm in a tomb under the Sphinx. There's police on the scene and I need you to send paramedics. Pl..."

I couldn't finished my sentence, because right then, right there, I passed out.

When I woke up, I was in a hospital. I didn't know where, but I knew I was safe. I looked to my left and Agent Sadusky was sitting there.

"Agent Sadusky? What are you doing here?" I asked.

"Well, when I heard you, Ben, and Abigail were heading to Egypt on short notice, I knew it could only mean one thing." he told me.

"Did you find Ben and Abigail?" I asked.

"Yes. We found them shortly after we got you out of the tomb." he informed me. I exhaled

"Good. Were they ok?" I asked.

"Yes. Ben was shot in the shoulder, but that's all"

"Good. And Ian?" I asked nervously.

"He got away. We can't find him at all" Sadusky told me.

I groaned. This was not good, Ian was going to destroy the world, "Uhhhh. Could I speak with Ben and Abigail please?"

"Sure. They're out in the waiting room" Sadusky stood up and left the room. A minute later Ben and Abigail walked in.

"Oh thank god Riley you're alive" Abigail said. She hugged me. Ben shook my good hand.

"You two are alright?" I asked.

"Yeah we're both fine" Ben said.

"Are you ok?" Abigail asked.

"Well enough" I said.

"Riley what happened in that tomb?" Ben asked me.

"Well I had a gun on my back the entire time. We avoided booby traps, Ian shot me"

"Is that it?" Abigail

"No. We've gotta get back home before Ian destroys the world"
