A New Symbiote is Born!
Sorry that it took so long to update, folks! Serious writer's block! Hope you guys like this chapter! Remember, I won't know what you think of the story unless you review!
The Next Morning
Venom POV
About three things we were absolutely positive.
One, that we needed to either:
(A) create a new identity(something that involves falsifying documents like our driver's license and birth certificate and we have no clue how to forge documents)
(B) Leave the state(Which also means we have to do option A), or
C). Clear our names.
Two, that we need to repay Leslie for all her help, hopefully by finding her brother, who may or may not be alive.
Three, that we weren't quite sure how to even start doing any of these things.
Well, thankfully we had our disguise abilities, and the small blessing that no one had broken into our apartment. Due to the fact that we had left our wallet at home when we went to confront Spiderman, we still had our debit card and cash(as well as the emergency money we had withdrawn and hidden before Eddie was arrested). But the money wouldn't last forever, and it was too dangerous to stay at our apartment. After we slipped in and got our things, we hid out in an abandoned building until morning. Not the best and most comfortable living conditions.
We decided to run down to the convenience store for breakfast, still in our disguise. We were just passing the game store that was next to it when we collided with a red-headed teenager who was running full speed towards the game store. We managed to stay on our feet, but the teenager, having less body mass than us, toppled backwards. "Sorry, dude!" he said sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck. "I've got to watch where I'm going! You okay?" "We- I'm fine. You okay? You're the one who fell." we replied, holding out a hand to help him up. He grinned and took it, pulling himself up. Luckily he either hadn't noticed our slip of the tongue or decided not to mention it. "Sorry again about bumping into you. I'm going to the game store to buy GoldenEye 007 before they run out. My name's Cameron. What's yours?" Even with our enhanced hearing, it took us a second to process the question at the speed he said it. We saw no point in lying as our name was very common. "Eddie." we told him. "Nice to meet you Eddie. Bye!" he called, running into the game store. We shook our heads. Definitely a strange guy, but it still felt nice to be talked to like a friend instead of an outcast, even if it was only a few minutes by a complete stranger.
We walked into the store, quickly grabbing items off the shelves. Cereal, granola bars, crackers, bread, peanut butter, ramen…nothing too expensive or that needed refrigerated until we managed to find some place to stay that had a refrigerator. As we passed the chocolate bars, our symbiotic half sensed the presence of a chemical in them that it needed to survive, so we grabbed several of those. After getting a few more items, we paid and left. Just as we exited the store, we felt a sharp pain running through our entire body. We dropped our bags as we grabbed our stomach in pain, and ran into a nearby alleyway.
Normal POV
"What's…happening? Eddie asked his symbiotic half as they collapsed against the back of the alleyway, curled into a fetal position. "Spawning….I'm…going to have a child…" the symbiote groaned, obviously in a lot of pain. "It'll…be alright soon…the pain will go away…I didn't know…I'm sorry…I'll be okay…the child will be okay…we need to find a host for the child…" The only thing Eddie could think of for a second was: We're pregnant? Then through the haze of pain, they heard a familiar voice say, "Um… Eddie? Are you alright? What happened?"
Cameron POV
After saying goodbye to Eddie, I ran into the game store, hoping I wasn't too late to get my copy of GoldenEye. It was the best first person shooter out there, and I couldn't wait to try it out with my friends. "Whoa, Cameron, slow down before you knock over one of the display cases again!" one of my best friends, Brian, who also worked at this store. "There's two more GoldenEye games left! "How'd you know?" I asked, then realized my question was extremely stupid. "Dude, you've been talking about it all last month and I'm your best friend." he stated as if it was obvious, which it was. "Oh, yeah." I said, embarrassed, as I walked at a more reasonable pace to the action section. "You ready for D&D next week? I've got a dungeon that you guys will never get through." Brian asked.
"Oh, yeah?! Wanna bet?" I called back as I browsed through the action section, looking for my game. "$5 says you, Timmy, Chaz, and Ricky can't beat my dungeon!" Brian said. He loves to bet. Unfortunately for him, much of the time he winds up losing. "You're on! The amazing Carnage, Crash Nebula, Dragon Knight, and Sock Puppet can beat any dungeon you throw at us!" I still have no idea why Ricky chose the name Sock Puppet for his D&D name. He's always been random like that…
I grabbed my game and went to the register where Brian rang me up. "You going so soon, dude?" he asked as I don't normally leave the game store this quickly. "I've got to go home and finish my webpage for Computer Design. It's gotta look incredible!" I told him. Brian laughed. "You take that class so seriously, dude. The project's not going to be due for another week." "Hey, I've got to if I want to be a famous video game designer. Someday, I'm going to make a video game better than even Doom!" I told him. He grinned. "Well, you've got a point there. Bye!"
Just as I left the store, I noticed the guy I bumped into earlier drop his grocery bags, grab his stomach and run into a nearby alleyway. I scooped up his bags and called, "Are you okay?" He must not have heard me. What was wrong with him? It couldn't be a heart attack; he was what, a year or two older than me? Brian noticed and came outside. "Cameron, what's wrong?" he asked. "This guy I bumped into earlier, he's hurt or something. I need to help him. If I'm not back in ten minutes, call 911!" I told him as I took off. When I reached the front of the alleyway, I called again, "Um…Eddie? Are you alright? What happened?" I looked down the alleyway and saw the shadowy figure of Eddie curled into a fetal position, shaking. His breathing was extremely labored. "I'm…fine…" he groaned
"Oh my God! Dude, you're clearly not fine. What happened?!" I ran toward him, and he held up a hand to stop me. "Don't…come…closer…" "Buddy, let me help. Do you need me to call 911?" "No…" he murmured, barely able to even get the word out. I came closer, despite his warning. I saw what looked like red liquid on his chest and panicked, he'd been shot, stabbed, something… I took off my shirt. It was the only thing I had on my that I could use as a bandage. "Eddie, I'm going to stop the bleeding and then I'll call 911." I told him soothingly. For some reason he tried to scoot away from me but was blocked by the back wall. "No…" he murmured again. I didn't know why he was acting so strange, shock maybe? This was worse than I thought! I should have told Brian to call 911 immediately! This guy could die!
Suddenly, the red liquid pulled away from him and somehow launched itself at me! I didn't move away in time as it attached itself to me and, suddenly, inexplicably started growing and covering me. I screamed and tried to pull it off, but its grip was too tight. I'm going to die… I thought. And all because I didn't listen to that guy when he told me to leave…Did it get him too… Suddenly, a tiny, gentle voice stopped my struggles. "Hello?"
Eddie POV
"Um…Eddie? Are you alright? What happened? I knew that voice. It was Cameron, the guy we met earlier. I couldn't let him come closer, lest he get hurt or hurt the new symbiote. "I'm…fine." I groaned. Well, that came out reassuring. Of course, he wasn't convinced. "Oh my God! Dude, you're clearly not fine!" he said, terrified and came closer. The symbiote was struggling to give birth. It was going to happen any second…I needed to get him away before he saw the child… I held up my hand. "Don't…come…closer…" I said, my voice only a faint whisper due to the pain.
He stopped, but only for a minute. "Buddy, let me help. Do you need me to call 911?" Part of me was touched by his kindness, but I couldn't let him near the new symbiote. And I especially couldn't let him call the paramedics! They'd hurt the baby…and they'd separate us again.. I couldn't let that happen! Another wave of pain shot over us. "No…" I murmured, barely able to get that one word out. "Eddie…our child…is almost out…" the symbiote whispered. I looked up at Cameron who had a horrified look on his face. Had he seen….? He pulled off his shirt and came even closer. "Eddie, I'm going to stop the bleeding and then I'm going to call 911." he said, trying to be soothing, despite his panic. Red…Our child was red… "No…" I cried, though my voice was barely a whisper. I pulled myself backwards, but hit cold stone as the wall prevented me from going any further.
Suddenly the pain left as quickly as it had come and I saw a red blur throw itself at Cameron. "Our child has chosen him." my symbiote said as it recovered. We watched, worried about Cameron as he screamed and tried to fight, but knowing our child would have a good host. We prayed this host would accept our child. He is scared now, but so was I at the beginning. His struggles stopped suddenly, and we knew our child was talking to him and soothing him as my symbiote had with me.
Mentally, we added Train new symbiote to our ever-growing list of things to do.
Hope you guys liked this! Sorry about the constantly changing POV. If it gets confusing, let me know. Please review so I know what you think!
