Isabelle opened her eyes, feeling dizzy and in pain. The memory of what had happen soon came to her and she quickly sat up.
"Max!" She yelled as she began to stand. That's when she saw the blood and then the body. She found herself moving in that direction but the only thing she could think about was her brother's safety. Please don't let that be him. Please don't let that be him! She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Slowly, she opened her eyes and looked down at the body. Tears fell from her eyes in thick droplets as she fell to the ground.
"Max! No! Max! Wake up! Please wake up!" she yelled as she shook the small boy's body. She would not let herself believe that her little brother was dead. Tears ran down her face as she looked down at her hands that were now covered in Max's blood.
"This is all my fault!" she repeated over and over again as the tears fell down her face and she clung onto her little brother's body. She didn't even notice when she was pulled away from Max's body by her mother. Her mother held her tight as she continued to cry, whispering to herself, "this is all my fault."
