Revenge is Best Served Cold

Chapter Five: The Evil Puri Store: Part One!

Author's Note: I apologize soooo much for the late update T-T stupid damn writer's block. Anyways, thank you for all that reviewed. They really pushed me to continue this. Thank you thank you thank you! :3 And, as always, I do not own Naruto. Honestly, do you really think I do?

"My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard,

And they're like, it's better than yours,

Damn right, it's better than your's,

I could teach you but I have to charge…"

I blushed at the super-embarrassing ringtone. Why did I have this as my ringtone again? Oh yeah, because the song was FUCKING AWESOME!

Damn right.

Temari smirked a bit at my ringtone. "Aren't you going to answer it?"

I looked at the phone, then back at Temari. "I…."

The mall though!

Sasori though!

You have a good point, Inner.

As always, Outer.

Shut up.

Too late, I had waited far too long. The ringtone ended, and my phone buzzed gently, signaling a missed call. Temari face-palmed.

"Well, that's that," I said, laughing slightly. It wasn't that I didn't want to see Sasori, or rather talk to Sasori, but right now I was still pretty shaken up about what had happened. That fire… my father in the hospital… I was afraid that if I saw the red-haired hottie again, I might break down and really cry.

Temari sighed, but because we are super awesome best friends in the world, this means we have automatic telepathic powers, which transfers to Temari understanding how I feel.

And somehow, I had a feeling Sasori knew what I was going through, too.

I looked at Temari, forcing a smile. "So, what was that about shopping again?"

Slowly, a huge smile split across her face. "Oh heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeell yes!" She grabbed her coat enthusiastically. "Oh girl, we betta get our asses in the car right now!"

We left the house immediately, leaving Kankuro weeping that he was alone, once again, with his psychotic little brother Gaara. And also, he had to do our dishes.

Temari drove on the highway, talking about her college life. I really felt grateful having a good friend like Temari, who could tell whenever I didn't want to talk. She always knew the right things to take my mind off my father.

Damn it, thought about him again!

In about half an hour, we had arrived at the mall. No, not the mall where I had shopped at after my fiasco with Sasuke, this one was a rich guy mall.

Do you know what that means?

The shopkeepers treat you like fucking royalty! Because they think you're rich!

We, as in Temari and I, cheered as the large ass mall came into sight. The place was huge - absolutely massive! Shrubbery surrounded the perimeter of the building, and the building itself was about as big as…

Think twelve dinosaurs laying side by side, on their backs.

That's pretty big. I think.

"Kankuro buys his Puri collection at the Puri Star store here," Temari commented as we stepped into the mall. We were greeted by a blast of air conditioning to stop flies from entering, which was nice but brought tears to my eyes.

"Cool," I said. "Where is… it…"

Right smack in front of us was a large Puri Star mascot. It was so big it was scary. Large, pink, fuzzy, with huge green eyes surrounded by cheering girls and boys. The mascot was standing in front of a large store, one that seemed to take up a whole three normal regular stores.

"Oh…" I said. "That's where it is."

Temari nodded. "Yup. Come on, let's go find some clothes-"

Before she could finish her sentence, a crowd of screaming fanatic children suddenly overran us. The ground had literally been shaking, and the children pushed us to the mascot. We were helpless as the group of rhinos… I mean children, pushed us up to the mascot.

"Hi there, you two!" the mascot greeted us in a way-to-cheerful, almost depressing voice. "My name's Puri Star, the newest Puri in the Puri Puri Star collection!" As soon as she(?) said that, the children behind us cheered loudly, causing Temari's ears to bleed. I could tell she was about to grab that Puri Star by the ears and fling him to the next country and back, but instead she forced a grin.

"Yeah…" she said. "Listen, we really gotta leave right now, could you please help us get to the clothing department?"

The Puri mascot simply laughed. "Oh ho ho!" it said. "You two are in luck! The Puri Star store just received its shipment of clothes now. Puri is now a clothing line!"

The children cheered again.

Never knew little stinkers could be so excited over a steroid-injected fuzzball, Inner remarked.

Temari swore under her breath. "Yeah, you know, Puri isn't really our taste…"

"Oh nonsense," the Puri mascot said cheerfully. "Everyone likes Puri Star! Am I right, children?" In response, the kids yelled and screamed and howled and nodded furiously, like Spartans set for war.

Our prophecy was locked. Slowly, we inched our way into the Puri Store, without knowing what would Iie in our future…

If we even had a future!

Second Author's Note: I AM SO SORRY THIS IS SHORT! Hopefully this can tide you over until I get off my lazy ass and type another chapter. I really would like to thank my reviewers. Honestly, I had a bad writer's block, but reading your reviews made me feel so much better, and so much more motivated that I was forced against my will to write this. :) I hope to dear God you enjoyed this chapter.
