Chapter 24: Tonight's the Night
They held hands along the way up to Rae's apartment, not even letting go to walk up the stairs. They reached Rae's door and she pulled out her own keys, unlocking and opening it just a crack. She turned to face Olivia, "Kiss me good night" she said, telling more than asking. Olivia gave her a look that said "I know what you're doing and it's not going to work", but Rae was confident that it would. There was no way Olivia was leaving. Tonight was the night that she was going to make Olivia hers in every way. Then she heard the lock turn before the door across the hall opened. She rolled her eyes before turning to face her neighbor's apartment. Before he could say anything Rae spoke.
"Yes Paul it's me and yes...I have company. Thank you and good night" she turned back around to face Olivia who was trying not to laugh. She heard the door close and the lock turned again. Paul wasn't going to ruin it for her this time. "So...where were we? You want your keys back?" she asked holding them out in front of her.
"Yeah, I do" Olivia reached up to take them but Rae pulled them back before she could grab them. She stepped in closer to Olivia and stood on her tip toes to whisper in her ear. That was all it took for Olivia to give in. She put her hands on either side of Rae's face and pulled her into a breath taking kiss simultaneously stepping forward to move them into the apartment. She closed the door and brought her hand up, turning the lock. She leaned down, not breaking their kiss, and put her hands on the back of Rae's thighs lifting her and pinning her back against the door. "Wow, she's really light" Olivia thought to herself. Rae let her legs wrap around Olivia's waist and moaned slightly as her back hit the door. She kicked off her heels and dropped both sets of keys and her clutch to the floor. They got under the covers and snuggled together. Rae put her head on Olivia's chest and let the sound of her heart beat lull her to sleep.
