Waiting – chapter 13

Sakura smiled brightly and said "So what are you doing in a out of the way place like this so early in the morning?"

Haku blinked before sighing and looking at the devastated area before saying "I was going to gather some medicinal plants that usually grow in area's like this…but I don't think I'll be finding any today."

Naruto rubbed the back of his head before bowing and saying "Sumimasen that's my fault…I over estimated my current abilities and lost control of my chakra a little."

"A little?...and I suppose this is a little crater you cause too?" Sasuke asked with a snort of disbelief.

Naruto hummed as he examined the crater in a serious manner. "Nahhh its more like a medium sized one…"

Sakura rolled here eyes before saying "We really are sorry about this, is there any way we could make it up to you?"

Haku blinked…the blonde had done this by losing control of his chakra? What had he been attempting? I couldn't have been normal chakra control training as that wouldn't cause this kind of damage…no he had to have been working on one of the higher chakra…but these were supposed to be genin fresh to the battle field…

"Are you okay Haku-chan?" Sakura asked her tone a bit worried as the one before her got a lost look on his face.

Shaking his head Haku blushed a bit at having been caught lost in thought before saying "Iie, its okay I'll be able to find them elsewhere I'm sure.'

"Ah Sakura-chan, I'm pretty sure Haku-kun is well…um…male…" Naruto corrected his teammate shifting on his feet nervously.

"What are you taking about Naruto? Haku is definitely…" Sakura started only for Sasuke to interrupt her.

"Male, he's a male…" The dark haired boy stated it like it was a fact everyone should know.

Haku blinked as Sakura looked at her dark haired teammate in confusion before blinking and turning sharp green eyes on him…she seemed to be waiting for him so he said "Hai…I'm…male…"

"Gah! We're so late!" Naruto suddenly exclaimed realizing just how late it had become.

Sasuke blinked and said "You're just now realizing that?"

Sakura giggled before saying "We really should be going Haku-kun! Come on guys lets go!"

Naruto ran after his pink haired team mate yelling over his shoulder "Later Haku-kun!"

Sasuke rolled his eyes at his retreating teammates before glancing at the amused Haku and mumbling "See you at the bridge…" before sprinting after his teammates leaving a stunned Haku in his wake.

…a few days later…

Sakura hummed happily as she skipped along with the others. For some reason she hadn't been able to wake up Naruto this morning..she was pretty sure he'd been playing possum. When Sasuke had told her to give up on the blonde and led her away.

It seemed odd to her, normally Sasuke would dump water on the blonde when he gave them trouble waking him up..but who cared? Sasuke-kun had held her hand!...okay so it was to pull her away from Naruto…but it still counted!

The pinkette was still on cloud nine when the group reached the bridge. She quickly came back to reality at the sight of the workers all knocked out…at least she hoped they were only knocked out.

The group was quickly surrounded by a heavy mist that rolled in shrouding their view of the bridge. Sasuke closed his eyes and relaxed his frame before snapping them open and flashing forward kunai in hand.

"Not bad gaki, seems you've got some competition Haku." A deep voice echoed as the shadow clones that had been surrounding the group collapsed into puddles of water under the raven haired boy's assault.

Spinning in place Sasuke's kunai flashed as it deflected a barrage of sinbon. Sakura gasped…Haku? He had said Haku…then the boy they'd meet earlier in the week was their enemy? She thought to herself shaking her head to settle her own unnerved thoughts.

"It would seem so, Zabuza-sama." A soft voice replied to the first threw the thick mist.

Kakashi eye smiled and said "My students are quit unique you'll find, I wouldn't underestimate them if I were you."

…with Naruto…

The blonde shinobi sat on his bed roll legs crossed in front of him. He tapped his fingers on one of his legs impatiently as he listened for his queue …man I hate waiting! He thought with an inner grumble of frustration.

…back at the bridge…

Sasuke sighed as he was surrounded by a dome of ice mirrors…this was not a part of the plan he was looking forward too. He flinched as the first sinbon struck him…and really wished they didn't need to keep as much of the time line intact as possible…he yanked the offending sinbon out…and waited impatiently for his blonde brothers flamboyant appearance.

The End:

There we are chapter 13 all typed up and ready to be put up Xd hopefully that won't be too much longer 'shifty eyes'
